"I'm fine. I don't need to be examined. I'm comfy." I made Inara for the "Our Mrs Reynolds" episode, where she has been drugged by the Goodnight Kiss, but is trying to pretend that she's OK. I used a cast of the Inara statue for the head, a Paige body and Mary Jane legs. I put her in a slumped position, then sculpted her curly hair, blouse and skirt. I used metallic paint to give a sheen to her blouse. I painted her face to look like Inara, and made her a little glassy-eyed with the drugs. I sculpted a blanket and cushion over a wooden chair, then painted it to look mottled and old, like all of Mal's furniture. April 2008.
