Memory of a Killer

-------------------

based on the world of Firefly by Joss Whedon

She ran a casual finger along the gun again and then on the bullet around her neck. Had it been over ten years since... Her hand fell to her head as she tried to clear her mind. Think of something else, anything else.

It had been years since her last conscious thought of Mal, the man she was meant to kill before the Firefly and during the war. A simple mission to kill the leaders of the Rebellion and restore order, but that was asking too much. He had been strong, a deserving more than a bullet to his head from 100 yards. I am really liking this tale. I can't wait for their encounter again and I'm hoping for maybe a death match between Cat and Inara. But that's just me. BTW, is Cat short for something?

Just one problem I have: a single sergeant really isn't that important of a person. If Mal really was a ringleader or an important figure he'd be something else.

I'm wondering why Cat changed her mind and decided to go and kill him after all. Ten years is a long time. Ali D :~)
