I wanted to thank everyone for the suggestions for a Christmas present for my wife. I decided on the Dragon*Con tickets/membership for next year, now that's not the only thing she'll get, but it's a shiny start. I will look into a lot of the other suggestions, but I jumped on the membership/tickets to Dragon*Con b/c we've been talking for 4 years about going, and haven't so, I took the first step. Course the joooolry thing might not happen. . .the last piece of joooolry i got her, i'm still paying it off. . . it was her engagement ring. So, anywho, I've gotten a shiny start to Christmas. Hope everyone is doing well, and especially EngineAngel *hugs for Angel*

here we go again, on one of my journeys through the BDH's lives. Those of you that have followed my stuff have seen me pretty much just beat the living piss out of these people (especially Mal), but this time, I am giving them a break. This will be a boys night out of boozing, talking, solving all the problems of the 'Verse, and so on. I gotta give this poor guy a break. This will largely be a conversational piece, in the vein of Quentin Tarantino (who is often overlooked for the great conversational dialogue he writes) or of Denis Leary in his brilliant show "Rescue Me", as five very different men have a long night out.

Hey All Today, I was thinking about asking you guys for recommendations of various TV DVD'S that I could download off BitTorrents. See, today is pretty much my final day of the semester. I have a Friday and Monday class, one more shift at the cage, adn various appointments for different things here and there, plus my one and only final on the 13th. But I am pretty much done and done for this semester. And aside from finally finishing up YOU CAN'T GO HOME AGAIN, and going home for two weeks to be with my family for Xmas and maybe getting some hours in at the plant for some extra cash, there are only two things I want to spend my days doing. Exercizing to get rid of the pounds I've put back on since Sept, and watching the mountain of DVD's and downloaded stuff I've accumulated in the last two years. This is the stuff on my docket. Clerks 2, Superman Returns (2 Disc Edition), Apollo 13 Collectors Edition, The Aviator, Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, The Big Red One Collectors Edition, The Blues Brothers 25th Anniversary Edition, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off: Bueller…Bueller Edition, House of Sand and Fog, King Kong (1933), Network Special Edition (which I now realize is missing), The New World, Raging Bull 25th Anniversary Edition, Sin City 3 Disc Edition, V for Vendetta, Corner Gas Season 2, Doctor Who Season 1, Looney Tunes Golden Collection Vol. 2, The Office Season 2, The Sopranos Season 5, Star Trek: The Original Series, The Constant Gardener, Rescue Me Season 3, Undeclared The Complete Series, Robot Chicken Season 1, In Living Color Season 4, Veronica Mars Season 2, Space Above and Beyond Complete Series, Masters of Horror, Extras Season 2, Profit the Complete Series, The 4400 Seasons 2 and 3, Sonic the Hedgehog SatAm, Two seasons of Spaced, First 9 eps of Torchwood, and various episodes of Battlestar Galactica Standoff, Day Break and the indie I Am A Sex Addict, as well as my usual TV shows, and the December Oscar contenders coming out soon. Some of these are DVD's I bought, some of them are from the library, and some are just stuff I downloaded after discovering BitTorrents. When I actually cataloged this, I realize the last thing I need is recommendations for more stuff to watch. I think the only way I can get through all of this before the beginning of next semester is by strapping myself into a Clockwork Orange like chair and have someone over me with an eyedropper administering eye drops since my eyelids are pried open. Wish me luck.

hi there, that is one of the numerous and entertaining curses my brother came up with today whilst playing Mario. My friend Andrew was over tonight, always a source of great amusement. After clarting on with my flamingo puppet, my brother pulled him over and, not being the most flexible person in the world, he got stuck. It actually reminded me of when Andrew got stuck between a futon, a chair and a desk and said the now immortal words "bend? I don't bend. Did the Titanic bend? NO!!! He was then telling us stories of his cousin and his inability to work a washing machine (he really is a complete moron). And then Andrew hit his head; which once again isn't entirely uncommon for Andrew to do. Maybe one day I'll list everything hilarious he has ever done. TTFN Jennifer -x-

Hmm. Recently, I posted a story called Domain for various reasons. I wanted to share it with you guys. I thought that the audience who liked Firefly would also like it. Also, I was bored. So, sorry for those who might be a bit confused as to why it's up. Enjoy! Sorta.

Well it only took me five months, but I got my avatar. Thanks for the tutorial thread by the way. I have directed enough newbies there myself. You guys really make it easy. Now I feel complete. My Browncoat feels even more comfortable than before. If that is possible.

I didn't weigh in much while the Flan II issue played itself out, mostly just lurked and watched things unfold. But I'd like to say a big THANK YOU to all the California Browncoats who stepped into the middle of a chaotic situation and did everything in their power to make sure we would all have a good time even if Flan fell through. I'm glad things are working out and Flan will go on as planned, but I would have made the trip regardless and done anything I could to help such a selfless and generous bunch of folks who were ready to pull it out and welcome us to their corner of the 'Verse. I'm really looking forward to meeting those shiny folk, as well as B!X, who was not afraid to say what a lot of us were thinking (and took some heat for it, too), Cedric and countless others. Again, THANK YOU all, and see you at Flan! Claudia >^..^

Some unutterable moron at work went and downloaded something illegal and trashed the boss' computer. Unfortuantely, this means he has forbidden its usage by anyone, so I am now stuck with my dial-up at home and consequently unable to keep up with any of you guys. I think he also suspects me of having something to do with it, despite the fact that I am a) more computer savvy than anyone else, including him, and b) only ever visit this site, fanfiction.net and my e-mail. I don't ever download dodgy games and pictures. So, whoever did this hasn't owned up, and we are all suffering. Guess this means this is a temporary good-bye from me. I can post blogs, answer pm's and post my incessant fic, but I'm out of the threads for the forseeable, unless I can find the cash for a broadband upgrade at home. Been nice chatting with you folks.

Hello fellow browncoats :) Just thought that I'd do a little updating on the log here. It will soon be a year since I've joined this fine place and I've enjoyed every minute being a browncoat. I hope to keep meeting and making friends(both on line & localy) though my choice of making the Joss veres a moving force for myself. I still quote lines from the crew and catch myself thinking the way the ppl on Serenity think on and about certain subjects. Anyhoo, just want to say lets make 07 a memerable year for the browncoat army and independent fighters. Serenity Valley is ongoing and we aim to turn the tide of the war. Z, out

Hi everyone. I really appreciate the feedback. I am very sorry i have been non-existent for so long and most of you have probably abandoned any hope of another chapter. Don't give up hope! I just have a really bad problem continuing things. I'm not promising anything but even me posting here means there is a chance I will continue this. I love this story and have thought about it alot. I have the most brilliant ending but am just not quite sure how to get there.

Well, I've decided to start a weekly blog (on this site), I'll do a new one every Saturday. It's just for people on the site to get to know me better. Most of them will probably be very boring but if anything happened to me that week, I'll make a note in the title. So here's the first installment. My week overall was very uneventful, but today I did go to a couple comic stores and i picked up the Serenity RPG. I'll try out the game, if it's no good at least it gives me lots of info on the characters that I can use for fanfics. Speaking of fanfics... I'm sorry mine is coming so slow but school and homework and such, it all kind of slows the process down. I finally found a good permanent beta (puhzaa for BlueEyedBrigadier) and I'll update it as soon as I can. I've really started getting a feel for the characters so I'm going to start getting into actual plot (I have numerous ideas). On a final note, I'm getting Photoshop soon and I'll be making some images for the Blue Sun Room. Have a shiny day all!

Hey All I just got back from a matinee of THE NATIVITY STORY. In case if you guys were wondering whether or not to go see it, save your money. Amazingly enough, the Greatest Story Ever Told in this case is as dull as church sermon. It adds nothing new to the story of Christ's birth and the whole thing just seems lifeless, which is a bit dissapointing, since the gal who directed the movie made the incredible movie THIRTEEN a few years ago. I dunno. Even though I'm not a big church goer, I do have a spiritual side to me and I think one of the biggest powers that movies have is to have the same spiritual catharsis that a good church service could have, and even more. And since PASSION OF THE CHRIST came out two years ago, Hollywood has taken notice of the power of cinema and spirituality (at least in dollars and cents). But to me, this just seems like the same thing AGAIN. And all I was thinking of was about other movies that accomplished what this movie did so much better. Like this movie was supposed to illuminate what life was like two thousand years ago in Judea under Roman occupancy. LIFE OF BRIAN was a way better movie in regards to that, and it was a comedy. And as for movies about Jesus, THE LAST TEMPTATION OF CHRIST was the be all, end all Jesus movie. You actually felt what Jesus felt as he grappled with the notion that he was the Son of God and what he went through. And despite all the controversy attached to it, THE PASSION at least had the balls to tell the Easter story in a slightly different way. In short, skip this flick and go to THE FOUNTAIN. Now THAT's a deeply spiritual movie that you have to see.

Okay, maybe after the new year for the move thing. I have successfully stoked the woodstove to the point where it is around 85 degrees Farenheit two rooms away. Upstairs is close to toasty for the night, which was my goal. The funny thing is I wasn't trying that hard. What was that last log I threw on?! I'm scribbling tonight. Cocoa enhanced blurbage! It's too late to try for drunken verbosity this evening. Peeking at the boards just made me smile. Someone opined that they would not want to get naked pictures like Nathan. I did not ask about whether they'd like to get naked pictures *of* Nathan. I do not know of any, though I suspect his mum might have a few from his youth. We are old enough that you could still get a picture taken on a bearskin rug when you were a baby. Bottoms up, tushling! Also the flan thread provided a smile. "Backup Bash/Flan B". I snorted. We're about to give out free Emergency Contraception on Wednesday at work. The brand we carry is called Plan B. It's for when your condom fails you, for those who are reading this and not familiar with the concept. Whereas fandoms never fail! ..or something profound like that.

My sister moved to Japan for year to teach English. She set up a photo blog online to maintain contacts with people. This is cool. She's already posted pictures from Chicago, of the Bean, and of her friends apartment near Wrigley Field, which is also sort of close to the Music Box Theater, which ran "Serenity" at a few midnight screenings in November. I missed the BDM screenings but I saw a movie there called "Mutual Appreciation" which I loved because it reminded me of so many people I know. I recommend it. Anyway, my sister is supposedly doing fine in Japan. She's called, emailed, etc. Before she left, she asked all of us (family) if we wanted her to bring anything back from Japan for us. All I said was Cowboy Bebop paraphenilia and photos of cool non - western architecture. I'm easy. I'm down to my last two projects before the semester is up. I admit to writing really flat essays these days. Its times like these when I like to quote agent Mulder and say, "might we not turn to the fantastic......" This makes me feel so much better about wasting time on obscure lyrics. So, am I happy for my little sister? Yes, of course. Am I bummed a little that she's gone? Yes, a little. :disappointed: She's no doubt the coolest member of the family, already having lived in Hawaii and Colorado. I guess now she's up there with Scarlett Johannson in "Lost in Translation." I told her not to get sullen, and not to listen to too much "My Bloody Valentine" in cabs. I should have told her to look out for actors doing ad-work in the midst of mid-life crises.

My uncle "Gino" died last week. He was 90 years old. Gino was his nickname. Don't know where he got it. Guess I'll ask my cousins. My mother died when I was in my early 30's and my father a few years ago. There is only one uncle still living so my brother and I have become the matriarch and patriarch of our immediate family. We grew up in a small town, extended family, grandparents lived with us growing up, lots of aunts and uncles and cousins around. If you couldn't walk or ride your bike you didn't go - most of the time. The people we knew were all colorful characters, mostly Irish and German immigrant stock. The men in particular all had nicknames, like Chicken, and Potts and Jupe. My dad was called George altho that wasn't his name. I asked him once how he got to be called that nickname. He said when he was in the Marines in WWII in the South Pacific, whenever anything needed to be done, they'd say "Let George do it." He frowned and his eyes looked faraway when he said it. My dad was the kind of person who didn't talk just to hear himself talking. When he had something to say, people listened. Everyone had stories, too. The folks in my family were all story tellers, some would call them bullshitters, but I loved the stories. My dad had a character called Goose Goblin and every night he would tell my brother and I stories about Goose Goblin. We loved it! My Uncle Ralph was more for the ghost stories. He could creep out the best of em. Somehow the stories and the nicknames seemed to fit together. I still love a good story. I've written a few and quite a number tunes over the years. My anam cara (soul friend) told me she supposed that my love of FF derives from my love of story - of the amazing and impossible put into words and brought to life - a way leaving day-to-day struggles and, for a little while, explore the edges of mystery. So, now we have avatars - don't hear about nicknames so much these days - it's avatars that give us the ability to be more than what we are, to play at who we wish we were or might have been. I truly did love those stories and have a few of them written down. When I think of those folks who lived thru so much, sacrificed and did without - they earned those nicknames - can we say the same about ourselves? My avatar name is Siri - it means "beloved." Not sure I've lived up to that one. Perhaps it's about striving for something not necessarily claiming to have made it. "We all die alone."

Hey, people. As deadlines often limit procrastination the way they do, I feel my care-free, and possibly more importantly, my relatively low intensity concentration time slowly but surely draining away like tepid, filthy water after a long, soothing bath. Oh, that sinking feeling, nowhere to go. I'm not bragging here, but just for the sake of saying something without complaining, I did a good deed for the day by picking up a garbage bag in the middle of a parking lot and threw it into a nearby dumpster. But its time to quit watching football, time to put the guitar away, time to quit blogging, to quit watching buffy or firefly. It's time to drink two pots of coffee tonight, furiously typing out the rest of this semester's labors, and finally spend tomorrow in a stupor, or haze, whichever you, dear reader, are most comfortable with, until I get back to my room at around four thirty in the p.m. when I will collapse gratefully in the womb-like comfort of the pillows and blankets on my crickety futon. I'll dream of space, distant planets, and laterally drifting clouds on unexplored quadrants of titan. Like the man says, don't save anything for the swim back.

This really hit me again when I'm watching S-5 of Buffy, on the commentary version of Fool for Love. The writer mentions something about the mythology of the Vamp/Slayer story, which has a fair bit to do with the purpose of the show in the 1st place. But that's not what I hate. What DOES bother me though is when folks say stuff like " It's only a t.v. show...why does any of that other, made up stuff even matter ? " It matters ( to me ) because it adds so much more depth to the story. It matters because it makes the characters more than just people acting out things , but puts them in a context of an even bigger story ( yes, I know....made up ) which occur before their time and will carry on after they're gone. The characters , like all of us, are merely blips on a really damn long time line. So seldom do we think of ourselves in that manner. We're all about what's good for us NOW. What can we see, do , NOW, and what does something across the world or across the Cosmos have to do with ME? Ok, so I got a tad too deep there toward the end. But if for nothing else, a well designed past in such a story as Buffy/Angel/Firefly, etc... makes it all the more interesting for the viewer. If you take the time to watch a t.v. show, why is it so odd that you'd find the backstory any less compelling than the story you're already watching? Some folks don't even bother w/ watching the commentary on their dvds. Which is fine, I get that. Sometimes those things can be a real bore. I grew to like most commentaries though, after having watched the movie/show . I like hearing how writers/actors or whom ever felt about doing a certain character, or how they wanted to try something else, etc... But to say it's JUST a show..... man, that irks me!

No, I haven't been ignoring Blue Moon. I've just had a lot else to work on. I hope to have "Free at Last" wrapped up by the end of this week, and the come back with Ep. 6 in the New Year (December will be taken up with bolstering my other badly neglected fanfic series, CodeLyoko.com's Change of Heart).

**A quick note: I'm off work all week this week, so in order to try and preserve what sanity I may have left, I'm doing a blog for each and every day. To pass the time. Is this sad?? Yes. But still, here goes: ---------- Ok, so today is the first day of my week's holiday, and I'm pleased to announce that I'm already bored out my skull. Hence me writing this blog. Due to my excessive boredom, I'll probably go flying off on many a tangent, so bear with me :-) So what did I do on the weekend I hear you ask?? No, you didn't?? Well, I'm gonna tell y'all anyways. Saturday was awesome. We put the Christmas decs up in the morning after the weekly shop, and I was entrusted to do the entire tree. Unsupervised. A wise idea?? Probably not, but it turned out quite well, so I'm very pleased with myself! Of course, it didn't all go smooth (it NEVER goes smooth)... My mama was a bit emotional (as she always is during Christmastime), and my dad was a bit stressy. So there were a few lil' spats :-( All turned out ok, tho, you'll all be please to know. Then I went round Jezzy Jez's to try and fix his computer. Yeah, didn't go so well. I guess I'm not a techy genius.... Sunday was a lazy day (as always), so that meant one thing - lots of me, locked up in my room, on the cortex. Sorry, internet. Always do get those two confused. Anyhoo, much fun was had by all. Well, me really, but still... Then I went round Scotty's to watch the NFL, and low and behold, my beloved Texans were on! And despite a hella ugly game, we won! WOO!!! Ahem, sorry bout that, but yeah, happiness prevailed! So on to today. Firstly, if you're still reading this, surely you got something better to do?? No?? Well, today, I walked home, watched four - count 'em - four episodes on Firefly, then stright onto the BDM. And now boredom on MySpace. Still, tomorrow is Christmas shopping day, so that'll be some fun :-D Catch y'all later, and remember to keep flyin'!
Monday, 04 December 2006 18:53:01
or so I thought. But I guess Firefly could do it if anything could..... To kick off, a little music video I whipped up in praise of this shitty little show with awful characters, worse writing and a fan-hating producer......

Wow. Last time I was here must've been purd'near three years ago! I looked at my registration date, an' today's date. Well, here's how it is: 1) I am still a major Firefly flan. 2) I still blame the Fox Network and the general downfall of civilization on the fact that Firefly was cancelled. :finger: 4) I'm still more 'an willin' to identify meself as a Firefly flan despite persecution from family and friends. D) I am so jealous of a person I just met who's off to schmooze with all the cast this coming Thursday :disappointed: 3) I don't know how to count. Anywho, now that I know more 'bout this whole BBS & blog thingy (high falutin' tech crap) perhaps I might wander 'round a bit.

Encountered conversion resistance? I have a solution. Just broadwave subliminal messages to those around you, be it in your speech, dress code or going through the motions. Believe me, it works, for as of today I've gotten two of my co-workers saying "shiny" whenever something's going right. So try it, and if you're disappointed...well, just try it on someone else. But, come what may, make the signal go further!

I've been here for more than a year, and only now thought to do something like this. What can I say? I don't usually have much to say. For myself, I have, within the last week, begun antidepressants, which has me all the hell manner of spooked. I'm a chronic undermedicator, so I don't like being on anything. Sure, it doesn't seem to be doing anything, yet, but I'm nervous about when something does. Other than that, there's not much more to report about my-own-self. For my works, I'm still working on what was never intended to be the third portion of Confederation. I've always had troubles writing for the Serenity crew, but after a few tries, I usually end up getting something at least half decent. I say this because the original crew is front and center at the beginning of the episode. It has everything that made Joss' work famous. It has bickering, gunplay, and a naked Jayne. What more could anyone want. Also, the Sorceror shows his face, and his dissatisfaction at his superior (and he does have a superior, at this point) making such damn stupid tactical blunders. I also feel I should do some explaining, since I'd never gotten around to it during the writing. Some words have been used, but never do get defined, so some people have to dig into the context to figure out what they mean. Also note that these might be upgraded as more becomes revealed. So, for your edification: Confederate: New designation for Independant or Browncoat. Coined due to their affiliation with the newly formed Confederation of Independant Planets. Unioner: Designation for a citizen or soldier of the Union of Allied Planets. Confederates occassionally refer to them as "Onions". Wap: A derogatory term used to describe a Unioner. Derived from Union of Allied Planets, forming down into UAP, which is mispronounced into Wap. Gauss: A naval-class cannon, which operates magnetically. Experimental technology stolen from the Alliance before it could be put into production, now in full use by the Confederates. Extremely powerful, but also extremely dangerous; damage to the system whilst firing causes a massive explosion which can easily destroy the craft it's housed in. HaVoC: Alliance designation for the Confederate Gauss cannon. Derived from the acronym for High Velocity Cannon. Ouendigo: An alliance of the religiously disenfranchized, located primarily on Boros and its attendant moons. Their motives and methods are mostly unknown even in the intelligence communities of the 'Verse, and to the commoners, they are little more than a myth. Via Wendigo: A religion within Ouendigo. Considered a monsterous tale of the early days on Boros, when the terraforming was a lot less trustworthy. Whapsep: The intelligence agency of Empress Fei of Sihnon. Derived from the acronym Union of Allied Planets Secret Police. The orginization was formed just after the Exodus, and vanished soon after. Few people even know the name. Gyr: The intelligence agency of King Richard Triari, of Londinum. After Richard's death, the agency now reports to his top aid, rather than his son and heir. Origin of name possibly based off of the extinct falcon of the same name. Triple 'S': A shadow orginization of unknown purpose, leadership, or membership. While its acronym (SSS) is known, what it means is not. Nor is its agenda obvious to anyone outside of the orginization. Keep watching for Legacy's Confederation, Part 3, which I should have done before the holidays. Ciao, everybody.

Oh, boy.. I still can't believe I'm going to this thing. And although I'm excited I'm also nervous. Hope this country mouse isn't too out of place in the big city. I am so excited about seeing my daughter though, who lives there in CA and so excited about meeting all of my BDFriends that I've met here at FFF.net and at the Serenity Browncoat Board! This is the most important part to me, after meeting Nathan Fillion of course. Sorry guys.. meeting Nathan Fillion is unabashedly my most favorite thing about this! Who's next? Why, Ron Glass of course. And Greg Edmondson too! I love to hear Ron laugh and he's an exceptionally interesting person. Then there is the addition of Greg Edmondson.. I have wanted to tell him that his music moved me since I heard the part where Simon tells the crew about River after she emerges from the box...each time I hear that music in the background .. I cry. I want to tell him that. Actually, I'll be excited to meet everyone! I'm very happy for all of us that Flan is going ahead. And did I tell you that I hate to fly? I loathe flying... this is the only thing besides family that would get me on an airplane. *Sigh* I hope to have access to a computer in the days right after Flan when my memory is still sharp and capable of details. And I plan to take notes as things occur. I'll do my best to present Flan as I see it. Then I'm gonna rush and read DonCoat's and MalNourished's con reports.. cuz they're the best! I promise to do links! I have a cocktail outfit, *snort*... me in a cocktail outfit. Whee!

Wow, that was a dramatic title, eh?? Quite proud of that. Too bad the content doesn't match the drama of the title. Meh, too bad. So day two of my week's holiday, and blog number two, giving you, the reader, and insight into what a guy like me does during his week off. Today was Christmas Shopping Day. Walked to town at 10 in the morning, bought all the cards, pressies and gift bags, and was home by 12.30. Needless to say, I was hella pleased with the hyper-efficiency of my shopping. The real highlight of that little trip however, was seeing a lady that looked like a potato! No, seriously, EXACTLY like a potato! For some reason, that pleased me no end. Don't know what that says about me as a person, but there you go. I was mighy tempted to pop into work to say hi, but then I remembered all the sackings and the like that's going on there currently. Nope, WAY to depressing for me. So I just plain walked home. Forgot to buy some gorram art supplies, tho. Guess what I'm doing tomorrow! Go on, seriously, I'll bet you'll never guess! Ok, I'm buying art supplies. Who got that right?? Penny for the smart lady! Ok, I'm babbling... What did I do after I got back home?? Watched Firefly, of course! Just Serenity Pt. 1 & 2, tho. Which was nice. Oh, and then I ate an apple. Which was also nice! After I get them there arty bits tomorrow, I'm planning on doing some more pictures, specifically Firefly-related. May upload them to my deviantART account and maybe even the Blue Sun Room, which will (hopefully) please all you Browncoats! Well, that's it for today's update. As usual, any comments etc. will be greatly appreciated. Even if it's abuse. No, especially if it's abuse! Just keep it civil, yeah?? Nothing derogatory about my family. Anything else goes, tho! Take care y'all!

Hi there, Yesterday i managed to embarrass my brother because our class is supposed to be going on a trip to Jarrow and John said he couldn't make Wednesday so i said "i'm sure you could leave your girlfriend for one afternoon." An amazing thing happened today: A Reading History seminar which was actually fun. We had to a role play thing where we were in pairs and had to be a member of a committee planning a war memorial. John and I were a bank manager. We even gave him a name, Alan George Hughes, in honour of our friend Al. The best bit was when the former major said that he had lost 30 men under him in the war and the local Conservative MP repiled that they had lost 30 potential voters. That nearly killed me. I need to do some Christmas shopping. My dad wants a Steeleye Span Album and I did a cross-stitch pattern so i'll get my dad to frame it and give that to my mam. anyway TTFN Jennifer -x-

*pats self down* I...survived? I survived! The Boyfriend's mother didn't make me into lamb chops after all! I've been spared! Dinner with The Boyfriend's parents wasn't so bad. A mutual best friend (who also happens to be his ex and my cousin. It's a funny story actually...) and her boyfriend were there, as were three of The Boyfriend's friends. So she didn't have a chance to cook me. *cheers* Here is me thanking you muchly for the helpful advice and encouraging-type words: THANK YOU!!! *throws arms out in hugging gesture* They really did work. b

I am sorry. It must be said. Mooshoo is one fat cat. I mean bulbous fat. Ground shakes when she runs fat. Wobbles wobbling long after she stops running fat. But its ok. Salem has brain damage and Kaiza is a bitch. Cats. Can't own them. Can't keep from being owned by them.

Oh, my... tonight I'm tired. Preparing for a 5 day trip including caring for a family and making sure my business is in order and that I have everything with me is harder than I thought. But Flan will be worth it! My roomie, MalNourished is rooming with someone else I found out, so it'll just be my Mom and my daughter Kati and I. Which is a good thing for her new roomie, Hera, .... she would have been alone! They're even going to be flying into Burbank together! YAY! The Appreciatin' Nathan crew is having a dinner Thursday night, a meet and greet.. I'm going to miss that regretably, but I'll see my daughter's home for the very first time. :) Ok, my list just grew by 17 more things... it's back to work for me! I'll file my final Pre-Flan blog tomorrow night. Then I hope to file reports in real time. :)

Fun though it is blogging here, I've made the leap to Blogger. I had to get to know it better since I'm getting asked LOTS of questions about it by students. Starting my own blog seems the best way. My new blog is located at desktophippie.blogspot.com I don't have a whole pile of net time, but I will try to update this blog when I can. See you at blogger - hopefully!

Howdy So, day three of my five day extravaganza, and my room smells like girl. And (unfortunatly) not cuz I have a girlfriend, but cuz of the soaps and bath bombs I got my mama for Christmas. Still, ain't all that bad, kinda nice actually.... Ok, today: caught a ride into town with my sister at 8.00 in the morning, to buy those art supplies I was banging on about yesterday. Of course I forgot that the shop don't open til 8.30. So there was half an hour of sitting in the cold, on a cold metal bench outside the shop, waiting. And anyone who knows me knows how much I dislike he cold, and how much I like to rant about it. Damn this cold weather! *shakes fist at the weather* Anyhoo, I bought the stuff I needed, and trotted off home. Which brings me to one of the two R's in the title - reunion. Half way home, a (almost literally) bumpted into Rob Davey, an old friend from Primary and High School, who I ain't seen in a good 4 years or so. He was walking in the same direction, so we had a good half hour of catching up. It was hella awesome, I almost forgot the guy even existed! And there we were, talking like we saw each other yesterday. That really put me in a good mood for the rest of the day! That is until I got home and realised I didn't get his mobile number, so I may not see him again for four years... ...Which brings me on to R number two - realisations. Well, actually that shouldn't be a plural, as I only had one realisation, but seemed to flow nicer in the title. Anyhoo, after remembering I forgot to get Rob's number, I realised that that ain't the first time I thwarted a friendship by being daft. Anyone who's read any of the surveys I insist upon posting on MySpace will know how I gripe about losing contact with one Kirsty Jordan. She was probably my best friend at work, and when she left, I forgot to get her number. Ain't seen her in nearly a year. And it was due to the same daft forgetfulness. Why don't I ask folks for their mobile numbers?? Or eMail addresses?? Or any kind of contact details?? It's stupid, cuz I did the same thing after leaving college, and have lost contact with probably about 10 people I really wish I still talked to. Anyway, enough complaining. So after beating myself up over not getting Rob's number, I started to sketch stuff. Just simple stuff, trying to get the creativity flowing inside me again. Ain't done any art for nigh on two years now, so I'm kinda having to force myself back into it again. May be a while before I post all the stuff I promised you guys yesterday, but I WILL do it, gorram it! Just don't hold your breath. Cuz that would be stupid. That's it for today, don't forget to comment! Take care folks, see you around the 'verse!

Hey guys, I'm selling a variety of Firefly things on eBay, if you get a chance you should check em out. Here's the link to my thread, and from there, the links to the items. Please check it out, thanks.

OK so the neighbors, who should KNOW better have thrown down the effing gauntlet. This is NOT to be borne! #2 and I shall have to destroy them. Utterly and completely. We will settle for no less than freaking TOTAL DOMINATION. Sorry losers. As always, WE SHALL WIN THE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS WAR. I must go plan. Mine is an evil laugh!

Well gang it seems the world is full of insane drivers ( esp. when it's nasty out) parked at an intersection minding my own business and ..pow.a car slides through slams into me and the car next to my truck...all three vehicles are totaled and I get an all expenses paid trip to the emergency room with a busted collar bone... That was Monday night...here it is Wednesday I'm home and feeling no pain from the percocet...drawing anything is out the door for a while ... So all you who ordered prints... they're on the way..just a little behind schedule... Keep the faith Mike

Back from schoolies. It was the awesomest times one ever could have. I went up with a wallet bulging with (let's just say many many) $50 bills. I now have 45 cents to my (poor) name. Was it worth it for hat once in a lifetime opportunity? Hell Yeah! Now I know what your all thinking. None of you probably missed me, nor even knew that I was gone...and to you I say....well I don't care really, but if I did, I'd say something really cool and witty. All I know is-electricity is awesome and you don't know how much you need it until it's gone and Port Macquarrie can be real damn hot when you can't actually go into the water at the beach to cool off. To conclude: I had fun times of the kickass variety.

Long time, no visit. It's been busy and chaotic to say the least. Anyhow, I'm in the midst of packing for Flan and suddenly decided that I'm having a fat day, I'm sick of my clothes, and I don't know what I want to wear. Basically, I turned into a total girl. And now I have enough outfits crammed into my luggage amongst the homework to last more than a week.

Ok, kids... it's Flan travel morning and I'm freaked! I am scared to death of flying anyway, but the wind is howling and I'm afraid we'll have turbulence....( shakes head to clear it, puts on best determined face...) Ok, I'm better now. :) Just had to get that off my chest. I wanted to tell everyone here who is going to Flan, and I hope you see this before you leave or after you get there, if you have access to a comp... we'll be having a big Good Works room party... where folks can come make donations. Then your nice average have a good time party afterwards. We'll be drawing for door prizes, some of which are way cool! And our very own MalNourished and MalGal will be doing the Fan Activism Panel with OneTrueB!x on Saturday morning. This is so very shiny for them. :) For us all! I have two full bags packed, my husband keeps shaking his head over how in the world one small round woman could need so much stuff. LOL My IPod is loaded with Nathan's Rings of Orbis readings... and he sounds wonderful. ;) That should help with pre flight jitters. I've got all my favorite music, including Firefly and Serenity soundtracks loaded up on there...I'm set. Tulsa Airport here I come... eeeeep. Flan bound I am. I'll report in as soon as I get there and try my best to keep folks abreast of happenin's.

Hi there, As I am rubbish at thinking up titles for my blogs, I've decided to use song titles/quotes/whatever is in my head at the time instead. As it is absolutely tipping it down with rain I am using 'Rain' by the Beatles. I went Christmas shopping in Hartlepool today. I haven't been to Hartlepool in absolutely ages. They have a wizard in their Christmas display that looks extremely stoned. I actually think that it was the stoned Santa they had in previous years just redressed. The weather is absolutely horrible. As previously mentioned it is raining and it is cold and windy. I like it. I don't understand why people complain about the cold/wet, I think it's cool. Break up from university next week. I can't wait, all my friends will be back up soon. Hope i get to see them this holiday. TTFN Jennifer

I haven't been around much lately. Sorry about that. Been in a bad head space. At this point I consider it a major acheivment to drag myself out of bed every day. Interacting with other people is hard for me when I'm like this. Even when it's digital interaction. Blegh. Still haven't finished my Inara Drawing. After that I was thinking on a Jayne and I have an idea for a Finvid but somehow I just can't get motivated. Anyway...yeah. I'm gonna go read a book and try to pretend I'm someone other then myself for a while.

Hello once again So today is day four, and the week of jovial festivities is coming to a close. A quick word of warning: you may want to stop reading, as this is probably going to be my most boring blog to date. Yup, THAT boring! So on this day of rest, what did I do?? I read Firefly fanfics from the Blue Sun Room. Yup, that's it. ALL day. I'm sure you're all in envy of my amazingly glamorous lifestyle, eh?? Still, I enjoyed it, there's some good fanfics out there, some very interesting ideas and insights into characters and situations, relationships etc. I also had band practice, which I just returned home from, hence this being posted later than usual. Was fairly productive, learning two new songs. The whole thing was kinda ruined however by my brother's ability to be a highly-strung, stroppy drama queen. Still, used to that by now! Anyhoo friends, that's it, I'm afraid. No progress on that Firefly art I promised you, and nothing productive or even slightly redeeming was achieved all day - what a result! Take care gang, see y'all later!

Global warming got us i think tis not really winter like it used to be... or maybe its just nostalgia. It was a lucky thing for the six rats we found in a cardboard box on Saturday though. (pet rats) Someone had got fed up with them and dumped them. I really don't want rats as pets, so I'm trying to give them away, but I couldn't just let them die. Stupid cruel people. :pissed: I hope some nice people will take them soon. Otherwise I have too take them home too my moms place for Christmas.

Evening all If you're not a Browncoat, don't know what one is or don't care to know, stop reading. This ain't for you. So today is the last day of my week-long blog series. Thanks to everyone who's read and commented. Normally I'd talk y'all to death. a mundane rundown of the day's activities. Not today tho. Today we'll talk only bout the package in the post. That's right, my copy of the Done the Impossible DVD turned up today. And boy howdy was it worth the wait! Seeing a documentary like that reminds me of why I love all you Browncoats out there. It made me smile. Made me laugh. Brought a tear to my eye. If anyone ain't seen it yet, get a copy. Watch it. Then you'll understand. Understand what I'm talking about. And it'll remind you why you're a Browncoat. Cheers again friends, take care!

Finding a black fly in your chardonnay is gross, yet not ironic. An old man buying a lottery ticket and dying the next day, not ironic - the shock would kill you Meeting the man of your dreams AND his beautiful wife, I'd say thats pretty effing expected. Getting your divorce papers and finding they were signed ON your 19th anniversary. Now thats pretty frickin ironic. Working an open/close tomorrow. That means go to work for 7 am and leave at 2 am. Lucky me. Someone PLEASE find me a sugar daddy. I need a rest!

Been stalking this dig for a bit, decided to actually put name to paper. The name's jinx to most, fiddler to others.
Saturday, 09 December 2006 14:24:15
My most sincere apologies for the delay on the latest installment of my fanfic series. I have been drowning in essays and coursework and have had barely five minutes to my self, but hopefully it should be ready before too long. Sorry!
Saturday, 09 December 2006 19:24:39
So maybe not. But I am gonna fail two or three of my classes this semester because I have lost the ability to think coherently enough to write papers longer than two pages and I need to write three six page papers by various times next week. That is my massive sentence of woe. Alas that I am a poor, starving, failing university student. Not only that, but now I am without a roommate. I have four others, but that is beside the point. I think, instead of attempting to begin to think about starting homework, I'll go wallow in a pool of self-pity. Yes. That.

You know, I've never been involved in fandom before. Oh sure, I've had celebrity crushes all my life--from a schoolgirl crush on David Selby aka Quention Collins on "Dark Shadows" through a teenage crush on David Cassidy during his stint on "The Partridge Family". And then there are Pierce Brosnan, Hugh Jackman, Kevin Sorbo, Johnny Depp, Sean Maher, Nathan Fillion--all of whom I still admire. But fandom? Never heard the term until last year when "Serenity" came out and rekindled my interest in that wonderful, short-lived show "Firefly". Yes, I had led a sheltered life. *g* In my obsession to find out more about the people involved in this fandom I learned about fanfic--another term I'd never heard of! And then I started reading reports from various fans about meetings with the actors, whether it be in parking lots or at cons, and the more I read, the more impressed I was with all of the people involved in the making of this show/movie. Seeing the various interviews available on the web confirmed this impression. These are some intelligent, caring, funny, wonderful people, who don't need a script in front of them to tell them what to say and do. (I'm sure we've all seen actors that do. *eg*) Along with learning about the actors and such, I also started to get to know some of the fans, whether by reading their fanfic and their LJ's, through e-mails & IM, or from entries here or at

Well this is the second week of my blog (I'm gonna keep track in the title and see how long I can keep it up). Something interesting actually did happen to me this week. I was playing World of Warcraft but there was really nothing to do online so I started making Firefly references to see what response I would get. It turns out that alot more WoW players than I thought watch Firefly. We ended up doing a little trivia thing and one of the people has an account here (I think it's something like Flyingtrue though I can't really remember). School has been hell lately, it's like they want to eliminate my social life completely, I have an insane amount of homework. Which brings me to my next point, my fic. I'm trying, I really am but between the homework and talking with my beta (long distance doesn't work for me), it's hard. For those of you who read my stuff, you're probably gonna have to wait long times between chapters, but I'll do my best on them so you can still enjoy them although they're not very frequent. Finally, I discovered a really cool site (cool for me anyway). It's an online clothing store especially for geeks. They have a suggestions thing, I've already put in a couple Firefly related requests (and Fable) but if you guys wanna do the same or just look around, the url is
Sunday, 10 December 2006 03:42:51
Well, I did a day trip up to see Mom today (7-8 hours driving and 5 1/2 hours there--someday I'll get over 5 hours of sleep in a night) and have noticed a big difference just from Thanksgiving to today. She's more alert, less sleepy but for the first time in my life she looks her age (68). She's never looked old before. Older, yes, but not old. Since she's been out of the hospital (a few dozen+ days) she's only had a hald dozen good ones. The kinda good news is, most of those days have been within the past week. She has learned the hard way, that she has to take all her meds, not just some. Well, she's still balking at the slow-release morphine, but is only taking the quick release ones a few times a day. She says the slow-release ones make her more nauseaous, so I've stopped harping on it, but she's taking all the other ones she suppose to, so now she's actually able to keep what she eats & drinks down. She's annoyed that her stomach isn't thrilled with meat. I've tried to explain to her that since she's almost gone a month without meat, it's thrown her entire digestive tract off and it'll take some time to work back up to it. I was glad that I actually got to spend time with her on this trip (the previous ones she slept through mostly) and talk a bit. No major conversations as I think neither one of us wants to upset the other. So we looked at some pictures, I filled her bird feeders (she's a bird watcher) and we watched a bald eagle hunting over the lake across the street. I found to my surprise this past week that my mother loves the Harry Potter movies (I was afraid she was listening to the fundie "Christians" and boy-cotting it) but that she hadn't seen Goblet of Fire yet, so I bought her a copy to watch. I also brought up my copy of the new 'Pirates of the Carribean' movie for her to see as well. (She loves watching Johnny Depp.) Work's getting a bit intense due to calendar year end. I got my quarterly review sprung on me on Thursday as well (less than 24 hours warning, but long enough to annoy my IBS) but did fine on it, so apparently my boss hasn't seen any major mistakes on my part (which I've caught myself making) due to my becoming a scatterbrain this past month. He's also not counting the report of 1500 accounts I'm suppose to work and give to the manager (I was given this the first week in November.) I haven't finished it completely as there's info I need from him before I can finish the last 2 dozen. I've finally started my Christmas shopping this week. Actually I had gotten one gift previously. I'd bought my mother an amber dragonfly pin while I was at Pensic in August. It has three different types of amber in it: light brown, dark brown and green. It looks beautiful, and mom likes dragonflies. I've gotten stuff for five folks since yesterday afternoon, so not too shabby. I know what I'm getting for another four, and three I'm clueless on ideas, so will have to ask what they want (or in the case of my nephew, ask my s-i-l what he wants.) I think I'd like to take a bit of space here to apologize if I've been a little too sharp in my humor and offended anyone. When I'm stressed I tend to get a bit snarkier, and don't mean to take it out on anyone. The caffine I'm not supposed to be having magnifies this problem. I won't apologize for the virtual streaking through the discussion threads. That was fun. Thanks again for all your support, hugs and well wishes folks. Folks here are the absolute best. *hugs* & love!

hi there, The song today is My God by Jethro Tull cos this has kind of a religious theme. Today is the 10th anniversary of my confirmation. Yes, it's been 10 years and in those years it is entirely poosible that I have been to church once a year. Sometime after being confirmed I decided that religion was a load of bollocks and only go at Christmas to kepp my mam happy. Yesterday we put the Christmas decorations up. I say we, I did most of it because it seems that my brother has decided he hates tinsel. Is that how you spell it? It doesn't look right to me. Anyway, the tree isn't what you would call organised. It has four angels, loads of birds and absolutely no colour theme. Just the way I like it. Sunderland won yesterday. 2-1 against Luton. Now in the top half of division one (yes i know it's not called that anymore, it's just easier to remember). Last week of university this week! yay. My class has to go to the Tyne and Wear Archive Service tomorrow and we may be going on a trip to Jarrow on Wednesday. TTFN Jennifer -x-

Sitting here at work, watchin "Serenity", first episode of Firefly. Sniffling, tryin to breathe, i hate bein sick. puts a mite damper on the day/week. can't wait to be over it, then i'll be shiny again. suckin down nasal spray so can breathe, and DayQuil to kill it. i have my lucid breathin moments, but not often enough. Book just said grace, and noticed, again, that everyone stops for it, 'cept Mal. still makes me chuckle. anyways, hope no one else has to deal with bein sick. and everyone have a Shiny Christmas, if i don't get the chance later to wish it to ya.

I havent been on a holiday for years, now finaly I get to go on one. Me and my mother is going to England on Tuesday to visit my sister who goes to school there. Were also going to bring her back to Norway for Christmas since Englishmen (and Americans for that matter) celebrate Christmas in not quite the right way. Opening the presents a day too late and all that. Traditions being traditions my sister wants to celebrate Christmas the way she always done it and so do we really and therefore we bring her home. This is of course a brilliant excuse for doing the christmas shopping in London, a far more interesting city shoppinwise than little Trondheim.

I just realized I had all these Firefly fics piled up, and I'd never post them here! So I shall rectify that situation, though I'm not going to post them all at once. Don't want to flood y'all. :)

I have been exploring new things. I am attempting to get involved in a Firefly RPG. So far it is interesting. Although, I am speaking from one day of attempting to play. I have realized that I need to gain some knowledge about the 'verse. Like I should know about weapons because my character is a mercenary. Right now I am searching for any information about weapons in Firefly so I can use it in the RPG.

I started reading Jane Austen's Persuasion as yet another means of procrastination. I've never read any Austen before. Already realizing that Pride and Prejudice is in Joss's top five novels he would take to a deserted island, I want to impress a girl I know at school who is kind of obsessed with the nineteenth century author. Talk about semi-colons. I also just saw "The Lakehouse," which makes reference to Persuasion quite a bit. I liked the movie a lot for some reason. Maybe its becuase my family has a house on a lake in the middle of nowhere, the lore surrounding it and all the family history inside it giving it a sort of mythical, or magical, countenance. Anyway, since I'm studying to be an English teacher, I figured it was high time to read Austen. Shame on me. I've also been reading Brian Kitely's The 3 A.M. Epiphany, a book of creative writing exercises and short, writerly advice essays. Lots of fun actually. Nothing on poetry or songwriting though. haha. It's been a while since I've had the top blown off my head. The last time might have been while listening to Amputecture by The Mars Volta, or Lenny Breaux. The only lit. class I had this semester was History of English language, so I had virtually no reading classes. The coolest part of Hist. of Eng. was learning about Olaf Trygvasson, a semi-obscure Nordic/Viking whose life, actually just a footnote in my text, proved to be quite interesting when I did a little internet research. Not as significant as say, William Wallace, to some one like Mel Gibson. But, I'm no Road Warrior.

I was working the other day with the student fireman I mentioned a couple of entries ago - the one with whom I was working on the Nathan hydrostatic lubricator (snerk snerk snerk...) He's qualified now, so the other day I went from working with him to working on him. We were discussing our preferences toward motive power and he wanted to know if I had a picture of my favourite engine as the background wallpaper for my cell phone. My answer was a resounding No - wanna see what my wallpaper is? He says sure. So out comes my phone, and sitting pretty on the screen is our beloved

Or thats what Olympia DuKakis would like us to believe! I have survived the open close, only to close every night from Sunday to Wednesday. This means that since Friday evening I have seen #2 for exactly 15 minutes! I see #1 and BG each night/morning as they are vampires and are only up in the nighttime. I am astonished (as the weeks go by) at how many overweight people there are in fast food. Astonished because I have become the amazing shrinking woman. 12 pounds in the last month alone. At this rate I will dissolve into nothingness within 6 months. Stay tuned for the Amazing Dissolving Mom

So... true story. The water was cut off today, and I forgot and flushed the toilet after peeing and it roared. First it gurgled and spit, then in what sounded like Latin but could have been Greek, began to curse me and threaten to devour my children. I'm also pretty sure it said it wanted a Popsicle. It then began to meow violently and roar and cough, then clear it's throat. Understandably I was somewhat concerned because my toilet neither has a throat nor does it speak Latin or Greek (as it was made in Taiwan). Further more, I have no children. I'm not sure at what point I discovered it was possessed by Lucifer's legion, perhaps it was the chill in the air, or the random objects flying at me, but I know I was certain of the fact when it threatened to devour my soul... in French. Now the French have done some unforgivable things in the past but this was understandably unsettling. Needless to say I shan't be shitting anytime soon. A friend recommended that i recite the following every time I go to the bathroom, followed by the Lord's prayer. "And shepherds we shall be for Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand. That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be. - In nomine Patris - Et Filii Et Spiritus Sancti." I'm pretty sure that's from the boondock saints, and it won't work, so I've taken to using the bathroom downstairs. In other news I am mobilizing Texas Browncoats to force a secession from the union and the creation of a free Independent Texas Republic. I doubt it will work, but I'm kinda banking on a few free beers, some laughs, and a few party favors from Buddha/Santa. Notably a Rocket, a Pony, a Laptop, and a really cool Battle Scar with which to entice beautiful women as I regale them with tales of my heroics. Yes I said it. Heroics. Further more, I am submitting that the Alamo be renames, Serenity Valley because... well, because, I'm not exactly sure why we want to remember the Alamo. And another thing. My Ex is going about dragging my name, and a good name it is at that, through the mud. You know why we fell out? (Trust me, I couldn't make this up) She asked me if she was prettier than River, Kaylee, and Inara. I told her to shut her blasphemous mouth immediately. Our Lord the captain might hear. Then she called me retarded because during a race, deciding it would be better to outrun the cops since I didn't think they had seen us, and they were after someone else, I initiated it by saying, "what are we waiting for? let's be bad guys." So now she's telling everyone lies about me. A lot of them untrue, unpleasing, and did I mention lies? Meaghan.Bloody.Court. She is a plague. Okay this whole post was completely random. Sorry for wasting your time. Cheers.

As soon as I get the chance to sit down and write out a detailed description of the events that happened this weekend, I'll post them up on my live journal for everyone to read. They'll be far too long to put here and I frankly only want to put this in one place rather than a few different ones. I'll post the link when I get the first post done.

Who knows when I'll get to the next part of my 'non-Con' report but here is the first part of a planned 4.

Due to a family crisis, I may not be able to post as many after-"Flan" thoughts as I'd like, so...I'd just like to say THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART to the California Browncoats, who went way above and beyond the call of duty to salvage the weekend for us AND To our BDHs who showed what good people they are for being there for the fans AND The Bedlam Bards for blessing us with their music even though they got screwed, too AND The dealers, who offered us their labors of love and were put in a very awkward position AND Generous Browncoats from far and wide who donated money so those of us in Burbank could have the wonderful experience Backup Bash turned out to be! Browncoats are the shiniest people anywhere! I've posted something in the Blue Sun Room summing up the event as best I can right now. Please read and enjoy. Happy Holidays, Claudia >^..^

I want to get back in to playing the Serenity RPG, but my friends and I never all have a free day and time all at once. I was CAPTAIN, okay? CAPTAIN. Just what I've always wanted to be. When I was a very little girl and my parents showed me Star Wars for the first time, I saw Han Solo and decided that, when I grew up, I was going to be the captain of my own ship and be just like Han, all raggedy and bad-ass. I figured by the time I was all grown up, everyone would be riding around in spaceships. Needless to say, a lot of my childhood dreams did not come true.

So some young delusional girl that probably smokes crack for breakfast thinks I look 28. Isn't that sweet? I may have to adopt her. Good news on the 12 pounds is that the prednisone moon face has finally started going away! OK so I met a man online that has seen Sans Soleil and that is just freaking crazy. Anyone else seen it? Nope, me thinks you are all too young. I wonder if Chrisisall has? (insert evil smile here) And WHO HAD THEIR HANDS ON MY FUTURES ASS AT NON-CON? Cause I will have to open up a can oh whoopass! (see his blog on myspace) toodles. I have to sleep. I have to pee. I have to eat. Not in that order, but somehow I gotta do it all! :)

Since my fanfic muse took off in October and didn't leave a forwarding address, I guess I'll just populate the BSR with my ramblings on FF related new items I come across. So, I was perusing a list of the top baby names for 2006. You know, so my kid can be a beautiful and unique snowflake when the time comes to name him/her/it after a stripper. I noticed something oddly hilarious while reading down. For the ladies, "Kaylee" (but not alternate spelling "Kaleigh", which I saw in a movie somewhere) rolls in at 21st this year. Followed by "Zoe" at 30th. River and Inara get shafted, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time. For guys, the list is oddly normal (although "Sebastian" ranks at 84). Sadly, "Jayne" did not make the top 100, nor did the more normal "Simon" or "Malcolm". I didn't even scan for "Book" or "Hoban". Sorry gents, looks like old-style Anglican names are the rage this year. The wife informs me that "Zoe" is always up there, though not always that highly placed. Still, I find this proves that Joss is slowly remaking the world in his image. At least we know that we will please our new god. List is here:

How about "finished"? Now I can take my working Christmas vacation like a normal semi-workaholic procrastinator. My final projects were handed in yesterday and today. Slow release, now.:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin: One way or the other I'm going to Chicago for a couple of days. I'm gonna watch the Rose Bowl (boo - BCS!). Go Blue!! I'll probably enjoy a little bit of eggnog. I'll try to go to open mic's, and shy-ly do my thing. To anyone who's personal "el Guapo" happens to be shyness, I relate. The twentieth is the first anniversary of Serenity coming out on DVD, which is when I first saw it. It's been a good year with the crew, y'all.

Hi there, Today's song is Marshall Riley's Army by Geordie folk band Lindisfarne (why name it after marshall riley? why not after scullion or symonds or the other one i can't remember the name of?) in honour of my class trip to Jarrow. My friend gets to go to Barcelona for a field trip but I get to go to a place which isn't far from where I go to uni.

Ok so all of you who read my last blog would know that i wrote my 10 page research paper on Serenity. Well i got it back today and I got and AB. YAY!!! I think my professor has the makings of a great browncoat. P.S. I can post it if you all would like to read it.

Tis not a romantic love. Is one of adoration, of worship. He is my hero. I have either Bronchitis or Walking Pnuemonia and he demands that I not go to work tonight. I am sooooooooo bummed. If I were to go to work tonight that would be roughly 99 hours worked since Tuesday last. So will only be 88. That is just crazy. I go sleepy night night now!

Song of Serenity. she moves in silence gliding floating through an endless sea blackness follows her embered wake. twisting, turning, falling floating, drifting, swirling perilous her journey may be sheltering those within from the harshness of reality twisting, turning, falling floating, drifting, swirling although the chase may end those inside live to run again she will never be silent twisting, turning, falling floating, drifting, swirling

I was at the thrift store today and I found an awesome brown trench coat that fits me perfectly. It's long, past my knees and it's fitted, so it shows off my figure (cue wolf whistle). Anyway, I'm wearing it right now and I may never take it off again.

So I'm just now getting into the Firefly universe since I just recently found out that about Firefly... I've watched Serenity about 16 times since it's release to DVD way back, and while on Wikipedia, i came across Firefly... I had no clue about it and now I am HOOKED!

Hi all.. Just sitting at home with my arm propped up at sholder height..bored out of my skull..tried some drawing but the effort of drawing stopping, spinning the paper, and drawing again is very time consuming..the results came out ok , but to someone who's used to doing several drawings in a sitting the whole process is pretty boring.. On the plus side I watched all of the Fireflys, the BDM , and about four seasons of Buffy...Not to mention all three seasons of Las Vagas..I know, I know, it's mindless T&A but I kinda dig it... Thanks to all the folks who shot me a getwell..you folks rule... See ya Mike

Hey All Today was a pretty good day. I had my one and only final this afternoon, and oddly enough it wasn't as painful as I thought it would be. And after walking home as it was snowing (one of the best experiences in nature), I finally managed to finish off JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED. All I gotta say was "WOW". The whole series from beginning to end was just fantastic. And that two part ending. Basically takes the ANGEL series finale, amplifies it by ten and cuts the running time in half. Just awesome. Any Leaguers here on the site? I just want to talk to someone about the awesomeness that is JUSTICE LEAGUE (UNLIMITED).

Union of Souls, Part III, has been posted. The season has been crawling along recently, as I have been very busy. This will be my final posting until after the holidays. After that, postings should come much more frequently than in the past, so bear with me. Happy Holidays, Browncoats!

I'm still out here. Do you know how difficult it is to manage a shopful of bloody customers this near Xmas when your head is full of visions of Jayne in bathing trunks? Sorry, had to share that. (Some of the other pictures in my head are all mine, though  ) Still nominally in charge, still not being paid for it. And - joy - it's panto season, and we're next door to a theatre. Little anklebiters licking the windows each morning. Lovely. Still...house. Money pit trashed - how could we devastate a heavily pregnant vendor this near Xmas? Quite easily, lady, get your gorram damp course fixed before you try doping more suckers, dong ma? New house lined up, hopefully end of Jan, and it still has a good office with broadband. Therefore, for anyone still interested, there will be more Cold Comfort Mountain, Zen II and some crackfic. It's drafted, it just needs an outlet. And for the writer to have more than three hours sleep. I have developed a nervous tic in the presence of stilton. I'm quite looking forward to it, actually. Proper writing time in a space specifically designed for it. Who knows what I might come up with?

Ever since I got this account a little over a year ago, I promised my Top Ten movies of 2005 list. My apologies for not following through on that promise. Got sidetracked. But don't fret, I didn't post it somewhere else. So here, in all it's glory, my Top Ten Films if 2005. Top Ten Runners Up: 20) Land of the Dead 19) Zathura 18) Kung Fu Hustle 17) Unleashed 16) Constantine 15) Syriana 14) Kiss Kiss Bang Bang 13) The 40 Year Old Virgin 12) Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit 11) Good Night, and Good Luck TOP TEN: 10) Oldboy - Best foreign language revenge film I've seen....probably ever. 9) Millions - I honestly have no idea why, but this movie hit me right in the heart. It's just the kind of movie that kids ought to have, but since they're all too stupid to understand much of anything, it's up to us grown folk to watch it and enjoy it. It's a damn good film. Period. 8) The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - It's a little flimsy around the edges, but they mean well, and all that honest work comes across as probably the best sci-fi comedy since Galaxy Quest. Proof that modelwork still looks better than CG. 7) Walk the Line - Joaquin Phoenix owns it. That's all there is to it. 6) Star Wars Episode III - Being the Star Wars geek that I am, I wasn't NOT going to put this on my list unless it REALLY sucked. As it happened, Lucas still managed to crap out a decent movie. 5) Batman Begins - This would be my pick for best comic book/superhero film ever if it weren't for the #3 film on this list. 4) Munich - Spielberg proves that he's still got it, and he ain't giving it up. 3) Sin City - Damn. 2) King Kong - Peter Jackson loves Kong, and this 3 hour long love letter proves it. It's a beauty to watch, and a tearjerker to boot. 1) Serenity - For one thing, it's the reason I'm even on this site in the first place. As far as I'm concerned, it's the best science fiction movie since The Empire Strikes Back. And I love Empire Strikes Back. I think I might love Serenity more. That's it. My 2005 list. Come back ina few weeks for my look back at 2006.

I had the wonderful experience of meeting one of my beta readers last weekend after attending the Flan That Wasn't and Then Was Again - which, by the way, was incredible but will be reported on elsewhere so I won't go into it here... except I will include this:

This time it took me a summer job and a whole semester, but I did it. I finally have managed to crank out a new chapter of YOU CAN'T GO HOME AGAIN. TamSibling, Leiasky, BlueEyedBrigadier, Misskitten, Cliomuse, Leighloki, AMDOBELL, Screw, gobluguy, artships, Lady Knight, Fredikayllow, or any of my regular readers. If you're reading this, please comment on my story. Peace

Many have asked so I thought an update was in order. I'm still trying to have that baby browncoat, but I won't know for sure one way or the other until around the 31st or December. I really appreciate all the support and good thoughts and all I am getting. Thanks guys and I'll keep you posted:)

My friends over on Gossi's board got coverage for the fundraiser they're holding for the Fringe Theatre in Edmonton. The last paragraph mentions the Non-Flan this past weekend, briefly. MalNourished, MalGal, NoSadSeven, DizzyEllie, and MALicious (and other folks I don't know well enough to mention).

My mom finally got back from Italy! My parents are divorced and I was staying with my dad at his house. He kept me so busy and it takes so long to get an internet connection that I was deprived of fireflyfans for over a week. I'm home and my mom's six hour time difference jetlag has finally worn off. My friend and I are over our fight and are friends again. I guess all is well.

Hi there todays song is Another Brick in the Wall Part 3 by Pink Floyd. I have decided to write another blog about the amusing graffiti I have seen recently partly cos I'm bored and partly cos I have seen some real gems. In the village where I live, the people are so moronic that they can't even get their swastikas the right way round. I mean if you want to insult the world, at least do it right because otherwise it is only insulting my intelligence. I also saw a person who had both a swastika and the CND logo in their work. So they're a nazi who wants nuclear disarmament. In Jarrow, on Wednesday, we were mocking the graffiti on a statue of the Jarrow Crusade because apparently Aaron really loved Anna. There was also a Maca of Hebburn- scum on there too. It probably looked a bit pretentious having nine university students and the lecturer taking the piss. Then in the pub I saw some that was calling someone a slut and it even had a reply saying that if they called this person a slut they would knock their teeth out. TTFN Jennifer -x-

Well I would usually do this later but I don't think I'll have time. I think I'm going to do it in list form. - Sophie (a girl in my school who I swear spawned from the unholy whomb of a devil) got into a fight with my best friend Rhys (for reasons I'm not going to explain unless you guys really want me to). I ended up trying to stop a fight and well, bruises were recieved. - The school is officially trying to kill me, I've recieved permanent back injuries from carrying my homework and I need to see a chiropractor. - I made a complete fool of myself on the subway just yesterday. I was looking for a ticket in my pocket and I slammed into a door, it turnss out it was in the other pocket. - I found out that when I was born my dad wanted to name me Sethra. - I bought the Serenity RPG last week and I've finally found use for it, it turns out it has a map of the 'verse and an index of Mandarin phrases. - I saw the Rocky Horror Picture Show on Sunday, as well as The Sound Of Music. - I was sick on Monday and I managed to write not 1, not 2, but 3 fanfics! All are continuing my current series, I'm just waiting for them to be beta'd. I've decided to give my locker a Firefly makeover, I'll be sure to post pictures when I'm done. Finally, the single coolest thing EVER happened. I very well might have my first convert, and it's none other than my music teacher. That's right, music TEACHER. She's kind of wierd, but in a good way, she's the coolest teacher I have. I was talking to her about Firefly in class and she thought it sounded really cool (who can blame her?). I'm going to lend my disks to her over the Christmas break, if she likes it, I'll lend her the BDM. If it goes well she might show her husband (her daughter's a little young but absolutely precious she comes to the school sometimes her name is Huxley) and friends and such. I'm also joining the Sci-Fi club at school to spread the signal. Today is the official first day of Chriskwanzukkah (Dec.16 - Jan.1)! Enjoy your holidays everyone!

Just had to throw in my kudos to the California Browncoats and our Big Damn Heroes for turning last weekend's disaster at Flanvention 2 into a shiny event. I was one of those folks that went from "wished I was there", to "glad I wasn't there", to "wish to hell I was there". Bunch of shiny folks, all of ya! -j

I let my family borrow the series. Most of my family has seen it, and they are enjoying watching it again. My oldest sister, however, never saw the complete series because we usually watched it while she was at work. Now she is watching it, and loving it! I am so happy. The conversion of my family is almost complete!

the weekend's almost over. I got my grades back from last year's school exams. In math i got 769 out of 800. thats 96 percent. In ELA i got 756 out of 775. thats 98 percent. That means you have an avrage above 92 percent. im going to be put into enrichment and i am currently in the advanced spelling group. our spelling list is below. 1.chattel-an item of personal moveable property 2.austere-stern in manner and appearence 3.lament-to express sorrow, to mourn 4.aloof-indifferent, distant 5.cerebral-intelectual, deep in thought 6.incongruous-unsuited to something's surrounding or setting 7.bulwark-a strong protection or support 8.connoisseur-a person whose expetise is an area of art or taste allows him to be a judge, an expert 9.cacophony-a harsh or disagreeable sound 10.expunge-to delete or remove or erase You were given the deffinition of the word. you had to write the correct word and spell it correctly. You then had to choose 5 of the words and write sentences. I got 105 percent.

That Firefly online game explained. Good interview with Corey Bridges of Multiverse which deals with the ins and outs of the game. For an alternate take on the Firefly MMORPG.

I'm fairly certain that my Oncology final (well, the class in general) is going to eat my soul tomorrow. Must finish writing this paper for that class, so I can begin to study and hopefully (fingers crossed) pull a B (I knew I should have bothered studying for the midterm). Immunology on Tuesday, History and Vietnamese on Wednesday, and I then I'm FREE for a month!!!!! Of course interspersed in there are the "oh my god I'm never going to be able to get into med school because I'm a moron and have some Cs on my transcript blah blah blah" Back to paper writing and studying.

Ok here's the thing. I really wish they could develope a pregnancy test you could use withing a few days of conception. This waiting several weeks thing bites big time. It's kind of like watching a really really slow hour glass drip sand at an excruciating pace and knowing you can't shake it to hurry it up...ok well still waiting...SIGH but really hoping:)

As you probably could have guessed, I'll be taking a slight break from posting as the holidays approach. I'm also moving to California after the 1st of the year and that is taking up a lot of my time! I will be putting up some of my own reflections regarding Flan-that-wasn't as well as a quote list compiled by myself and other Browncoats of some of the more memorable moments of the weekend. In my fic pipeline is another epic (Leiasky is cursing me already) that takes place right at the end of the movie and then moves forward from there. It will have a heavy focus on Simon/Kaylee, Mal/Inara and River/OC - which I'm very excited about. I've also got a few ideas for some one-offs that I hope to write soon. And of course there are all the stories that I've banked which I can start posting as soon as I get them out for a beta. Happy holidays to all and may your new year be bright & shiny! ~TamSibling~

Monday, and already a sucky week. My idiot "new" neighbors below (see: "Almost" blog) are well on their way to proving that the being with the most intelligence in their household is the dog. With all the stuff with Mom happening, I've been having a bit of insomnia (aided and abetted by the verboten caffine I had last weekend) and have had trouble falling asleep and staying that way. Last night, I actually feel off almost immediately...sometime after 11pm. Enter the downstairs idiots. Freaking 1am, they're outside with the dog, screaming and yelling...for FUN! I woke up thinking someone was being murdered and find out they're just out there playing. Oh, and when confronted by me on their way back in (me in disgruntled grizzly bear mode) try to fluff it off as it was someone else out there. Funny...everything I heard sounded exactly like their voices. Wow...someone outside does impressions at 1am. Not. And even funnier...all the noise stopped one they came back in. How stupid do they think I am anyway?! These are the same folks that almost got evicted the first week here due to noise complaints, which they didn't know the thin ice they were on at that point...they waited a month to open their mail from the office manager. They need to get a f****ing clue. I'm ready to beat them bloody with a clue stick. Because of those twerps, I got 2 hours of sleep! yep, I couldn't fall asleep after that and as I had to get up at 4am, was unable to take anything to help. Someone shoot them and save the gene pool before they reproduce. ************************************************* On the Mom front: Mom's been doing poorly since I was up there last weekend. She tried to eat something that didn't agree with her and hasn't been able to keep food or liquids down much since then. She and my step-father are going to the hospital for a conference with the doctors about this and a few other issues tomorrow. If mom doesn't decide to cancel out as she did the previous time in mid-November. Due to my s-i-l's work schedule, we won't be able to get together up there until after the holiday, but I'm not too sure that mom won't be in either a hospital or a hospice as she needs to get fluids and soon, so an IV may be the only way. *hugs* to all you shiny folks. **** RMMC

It t'was a dream. Yep. I was woken up from this odd dream of being on a boat with several friends. Actually, there were a few boats. Point was, it kept fading into scenes of JAWS, where a large shark, or more than one, would pluck a boater from the ranks and .....you get the idea. But this was odd for several reasons. 1. I have no phobia ( that I'm aware ) of sharks or boats, as I'm often out on a lake. 2. My dream kept switching from 'present' to 'past', as if either one was any less weird. Long story short, in my dream, my crew and I got back to the harbor, and despite some tense moments, with out incident. As we got on dry land, someone shouted " Shark free since 2003! " , as if that was some sort of triumph. At first it felt kinda catchy, but then all realized how morbid and goulish it was. Oh well, all fine on dry land. Not so fast. Then my dream shifts to some sail boats, racing in the open water. One boat is having trouble. Sails aren't catching the wind, something..but it's not moving too fast. Then either a gust of wind or a tricky wave comes up, and a crew member is in the water. ( I'm watching all this as if it's being filmed from a helicopter )The first grew member in the water gets taken down by a big shark. Maybe a couple others jump in try and save their friend, and all chaos follows. Then there's a guy standing up in the water, on a piece of wreckage. Help is near, but not quite there. He's got what looks like a pole in one hand, while trying to reach a line that'll hoist him up and out of harms way. There's a slim chance he can fend off the shark, with the pole/spear, assuming he sees the shark first. Then the guy becomes me - in 1st person. I'm the one waiting for the ship to come haul me to safety, and yet I can feel the shark about to strike. Then I wake up. WTF was that about? Shark free since 2003. ( No drugs, cold medication or spicey foods were involved in the dreaming of this last sequence )

Hooooray! I finished year 12 and got a decent score. Lets just hope I finish up with a nice uni offer. And hey look on the bright side-If don't get into a good course I can always just sit and home and write fanfic. Merry Christmas from Down Under where heat, flies, barbecues and bushfires make up our Christmas time. The only White Christmas we get is because of all the smoke in the air!

So I was at a friend's and a friend he'd also invited sees my borrowed copy of "Serenity" on top of the TV, picks it up and says "This was an awesome movie!"... I tell him it was based on the TV series "Firefly". Poor guy's never seen it, but says he's going to rent it for sure. I've known the guy works for a big name Game company (he worked on one of the Matrix games) so I tell me he should try to convince his bosses to do a Firefly video game. It's a long shot, I know, but if the guy becomes a true Browncoat, what better position to be in than a designer of video games? I tell him there are tens of thousands of die-hard fans of the show who would gladly shell out their cashy money for a game on the 'Verse.

Just felt like running a tally last night. For those of you who have been following along since my very first fic post you have now read somewhere in excess of 65,430 words spread over 133 pages. Give or take the blog entries. If most of that had not been written as scripts it would have been much much more. Descriptive paragraphs, backstory, internal dialogue, motives, scenery, meals, sex, lots and lots more verbiage. Thanks for reading, but thanks even more for input! One question remains: Why?

Jonathan Woodward. I think he lives at hotels, especially if people buy him drinks. I spoke to Jonathan briefly after MalN introduced me, but all I remember was tugging his forelock for him to lean down so I could smell his hair. I don’t know why that came up, I wasn’t flirting, really. The gesture had some pertinent context in what we were talking about, I just can’t remember what that context was. He straightened up and said “That’s a pretty odd thing to smell.” To which I prattled “Back of the neck, behind the ears. Those are the best.” He pretended to find that interesting. I blame the Guinness. My favorite shot of Christina. She stopped by for visit Friday night:

I'm back after moving house. we upgraded from a small block and house to a 1 acre property with a big house. Well, when I say big I mean, 4 bedrooms, walk in rob and ensuite to main, built in's to the other three a study with built in robe, huge back room, large lounge and large dining, plus big kitchen and second huge bathroom. oh yeah, and did I mention 1 acre.

I've always thought I could write something and now I have. Boy, was it hard. I think I went through 7-8 drafts on this little fic and could have gone 70-80 more. Finally I said to heck with it-it's a piece of Christmas fluff and I'll just throw it out there and take my chances. My second fic with lots of angst will be coming in a coulple of days. So here it is-Enjoy!

At Clare’s restaurant on Saturday, I ended up dancing like a crazy person with a young couple from New York who were on their honeymoon. We talked movies. (They ended up winning one of the Fringe raffle items on Sunday, as did Tall Sean and his wife.) The dancing was a blast. Browncoats have no shame. We screamed the lyrics at the top of our collective lungs. I dunno, must have been all that pent-up energy, since the VIPs had finally left the building. Being inebriated, I only remember "White Wedding" and "Just Can't Get Enough" by Depeche Mode. Here are my dancing friends with Alan. I wish I could remember their names!

So, yesterday I'm reading the entertainment section of my local newspaper; The Charlotte Observer. And what should I see, buried in the back of said section, but an article about the upcoming MMORPG based our beloved show. It wasn't long, and the only thing that it actually mentioned was that the show was canceled, and now it's being made into a show. But it was really good to read the word Firefly in my local paper, dealing with the show. Even though it was an AP article, and nobody on the actual paper knows what it is. Plus, maybe it'll get people who otherwise wouldn't be, thinking about the show. I really love the 'verse as an online game. The makers were right to think that it's rife for an expansion. The way that Joss designed it made it different from the Trek universe or even the Star Wars universe, in that there are no aliens, and there are only humans to deal with.

OK, So I know this isn't Firefly/Serenity related but I'm doing research on children with single parents, and you guys are one of the best online communities I've found in my 20 years of living so I thought I'd bring this to you. What I'm looking for are stories about you and your single parent. Can be funny, sad,... anything. If you have or had a single parent and would like to share is would help a great deal. Thanks a bunch.

what would it take? is it just about money or the networks? you would think the networks would want to bring this great show back given its ever growing fan base! does the cast still want to do the show? i figure they do what about the writer im sure he would too so i am left to wonder what is keeping the show from coming back since it was cut off to soon!

Egads, it took long enough! Between working, vacation, filling Christmas orders, and everything else that's been going on, my writing time has been pretty limited. That, and I'm sort of in a period of evaluating my writing and the evolution of this story, so that makes it take longer too. Anyway, I'm sorry for the long delay, and I hope you all enjoy it. Merry Christmas, Jessi

So, I came home to my parents' house for Christmas, and I made a huge mistake. I didn't bring my Firefly/Serenity DVDs with me :banghead:, and I'm working on my fanfic "The Children of Shadow" over the break before the spring semester begins, and I once again return to writing things I truly have very little interest in, yet again. Those DVDs are my muse. I try to write stuff that is true to the Joss Whedon style. I'm not necessarily that good at writing lines like "If your hand touches metal, I swear by my pretty floral bonnet I will end you," or "I aim to misbehave." But, I am looking for something closer to, "Faster would be better." Even when I'm not in front of my computer, I'm thinking, "Would Mal/River/Kaylee/etc. say or do that??" To write like that I must have those DVDs to get into that mode. I'm on chapter two, and the character Annaleigh that I've created is flowing perfectly because... well, I created her. I know how she thinks. I don't want to change any of the Firefly characters from what they were in the series. I want to maintain that consistancy, but I have no muse to rely on! :crap: I would go to the local video store and rent one, but it's Christmas which means no more cash to spend. Maybe if I'm lucky, Serenity will come on one of those Starz channels my parents have. In the meantime, I guess I'll do my best without the DVDs and enjoy Christmas. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night, Phyre UPDATE: PhoenixRose pointed me in the right direction to download the episodes, so thanks to her!

Another X-Mas come, another X-Mas gone, without much to say. Oh, wait, I have quite a bit: My brother, who'd moved out-of-province earlier this year, came back for the 'festivities'. I have to say, it was a bit of a trip seeing him again. Of course, he couldn't exactly bunk down in his old room; about a week after he left, our mother painted it pink, and three days later, a friend of her's moved into it. He's been staying with the grandparents. My father, a long-haul trucker, also managed to appear at home, although a scant day and a half before Christmas Eve. He and I have been crossing paths fairly often the last few months. Hell, before the Yule, I'm fairly sure I hadn't seen him in more than a month and a half. So, it was a fine thing to see him again. While the presents weren't the most mind-blowing, we upheld the fairly recent family tradition of the Christmas Morning Blasting. I know that look you're giving me. Christmas Morning Blasting, you ask? What in the holy hell is that, you ask? Why would you be blasting things on Christmas, you ask? Well, in answer to the first, the Christmas Morning Blasting is when everybody willing in the family grabs up our shotguns, boldly goes into the back field, and we blow the ever-livin' hell out of a bunch of clay pidgeons. Dad did the flinging, whilst my brother, his room-usurper (a nice lady, if a bit of a foul-mouthed lush), and I blasted away. My mother didn't attend, which is just as well for us: She's absolutely lethal with her single-shot. She'd not leave so much as a single one for us to smoke. Everybody dusted at least one, even the newbie, despite today being the first time in her life she'd ever held a gun, let alone fired it at a target transitioning through three dimensions. Not bad, I must say. Well, that's about all she wrote about the Yule, and I did smear it with great lethargy and listlessness, and in the end, blasted it with a 12-gage. Oh, what fun. What? Expecting more? Heh. Stop reading. It's getting kinda creepy. Go read some slash fanfiction or something...

My best friend just gave birth to a baby girl on the 26th December 2006 at 4am. The strangest thing is, my God mother who adopted her as a god daughter passed away in August 2004, her birthday: 26th December. Such a coincedence.

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, My whole family was stirring, to be found was no mouse. The presents were nestled all under the tree While my sister flexed her fingers and eyed them with glee I did not expect much, my list had come late Something that I knew my whole family would hate. As the hour struck nine we dug into the pile Joyful for our destraction from life for awhile As I grabbed my first gift, my sis let out a yell With a volume that could silence the noise of a church bell "Do not open that one!" she cried with a shriek, "Open the big one first, give that one a peek!" Not wanting my eardrums to burst with the noise I opened the gift she'd instructed with poise. When what to my wondering eyes did arise But a Serentity role play guide and two tubes of die! Overcome and unsure of what to say I hugged tight to my sister and decided the next day I would figure out this miracle that was given to me And little did I know what else was under the tree At my mother's house the very next day When I opened more presents, joining in to the fray Of wrappings and ribbons being thrown to be shun When suddenly emerged the label "Blue Sun"! A treasure trove poured from the simple decoration And my mind was filled with comfibulation I could not believe the luck and the love That rained down upon me as if from above. A hat, a shirt, a journal, a mug All for me, only in return a hug. I decked myself out, slipping on my jacket of brown Ready to head out to spread peace to the town. And thus my Christmas day did come to an end, So Merry Christmas to all of you my friends!

hi there, hope you all had a good Christmas. On Christmas Eve I went to church. It was all right apart from this baby sitting behind me who threw up all over my dry clean only brown suede jacket. I wasn't best pleased about that. Christmas Day was pretty much the same as usual. We went to see my Grandma in the morning. It's the first time I've seen her since she went into the home. She doesn't look bad. Then I came home, ate and spent the rest of the day lazing about. Today I went to see Sunderland play. They beat Leeds 2-0. It was great. Although I am certai I heard someone call the Leeds players useless maggots. I love hearing the chants that supporters sing. The majority of them seem to stem from one tune, the one to 'ere we go. Anyway TTFN Jennifer -x-

Sorry it's late, Christmas madness. First off I'd like to say I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. Monday and Tuesday I was sick, vomitting my guts out it was all very exciting. I'm not going to dwell on the negative for this blog though, there isn't much to be said in that regard anyway. I love the holidays. I know it's cheesy as hell but it seems that around this time (by "this" I mean a little before and a little after Christmas and of course during), problems just go away. I actually had several nice bonding moments with my parents, one dancing, one cooking and the other just sitting and listening to music. I just get in that mood around the holidays. Everything at school loosened up (either that or I've just stopped caring, I think likely both). All the exams and projects and stuff were finished so we were pretty much free except for one French period which I'd rather not talk about :crap: . On Thursday we had a talent show, it was awesome lots of cool bands and comedy sometimes mixed together, plus we missed the afternoon. Friday we partied all day though we still had to go to class. Our Math teacher gave us homework for the holidays which I am intent on leaving for the last minute. That brings us to the weekend. On Friday night I stayed at my grandparents house (I do this every Friday since they live in Toronto, I have since I was a month old). It's my grandmother (dad's mom) and my step-grandfather's house (though he's more of a grandfather than my real one who I barely see. My mom's parents are dead (all of this information is relevant I guess assuming anyone actually gives a good gorram). On Sunday (I think) I went out with my (real) grandfather Jorje (Spanish, I think that's how you spell it). We went to Steve's (one of the big music stores in Toronto) and I tried out my dream bass (EDB 400). He got me a giftcard worth $250.00 from there so now I'm just $200.00 away from actually being able to buy the bass (which is going to be black and I will name her "Vera"). Monday was Christmas and here's what I got: The Steve's giftcard (previously mentioned) Age of Mythology from my grandparents Billy Sheehan Basic Bass book and Billy Sheehan Advanced Bass book with instructional DVD A new guitar strap because my other one is... somewhere else A new XBOX and a new PS2 controller (the XBOX one is blue, the PS2 one is black) MK Armageddon for XBOX (finally, I've wanted it ever since Rhys lent it to me), MK Shaolin Monks for PS2 and Lego Star Wars II The Original Trilogy for XBOX Several cool shirts from

I'm realatively new to the first as opposed to when Firefly first aired it's beloved show on fox. I watched my first episode last year, 'War Stories' and fell in love. Since then I've been all over anything Firefly/Serenity, own both movie and dvd collection and hoping to god the show is remade or more movies, or anything to keep this thing alive. Hope to get along well with you all. See ya in the black

Having fun at Mom's house. I up and joined the 76th. I'll work on backstory on the flight home probably. I had a couple of so-bad-they're-almost-good ideas for fic on the way here. Whee! The spousal unit got to try the maternal unit's lasagne for the first time. NOW he knows why he married me! 12 years for a plate of food, but it was worth it. Filius mei is having a great time at grandma's. Hope anyone reading this is likewise enjoying the season.

Well, haven't been up to see Mom for the holidays yet (I was suppose to head up early this morning). Why? I came down with a ruttin' head cold on Christmas Eve. While at midnight mass. Fun is not almost freaking out the elderly usher at church by coming close to passing out. Anyway, so I'm still home so as not to pass my yule joy to Mom. My brother his wife and their son were all ill late last week, each with something different. Did someone paint a bullseye on us or something? So, here I am, with my fuzzy brain and no attention span to speak of. I kinda feel like a three year old with ADD and sniffles. {/whining} I did have a nice time up to the cold. My friends and i have a tradition of getting together to exchange gifts and do some gaming. My friend who hosted fed us prime rib! (yum!!) There were also lots of cookies, chocolate and a homemade pumpkin pie. I hope all of you have had a great holiday and have a safe and happy New Year! *hugs*

Hi there, Guess what time my next door neighbour, Brainless, woke me up at? 3am. He was banging on his door and yelling extremely loudly because he couldn't get in his house. His mother probably doesn't trust him enough to give him one. I don't know what time it stopped because the Scissor Sisters are very good at drowning out yelling morons, but by 4am he had stopped. I finally finished my Reading History Essay. The question was 'to what extent is the study of commemoration and mourning the study of history from below.' It's either going to be the best thing I've ever written or a complete load of bollocks, I'm not entirely sure which. Anyway, it was 2,784 words so it's well within the word limit of 2500-3000 words. I only need to do the bibliography and double space the document which I will do when my arm stops hurting. I'm feeling quite happy at the minute, now that I'm nearly finished. TTFN Jennifer -x-

From Myspace blog Star charts, an un-named woman, and a fourty five. Current mood: nostalgic I was meanin' to post a blog a few days ago but I'm busy, tired, hungry, etc, etc, etc... So the years almost up and it seems there has been such a string of misses and failures and fuck ups that I want nothing more than to be drunk for the next two weeks in a warm place surrounded by white sand ans half naked women. But since that ain't gonna happen I'm pretty sure the weekend will be spent outdoors shaking from the cold licking my already chapped lips and thinking of warm places. On a good note, the outdoor stuff should be pretty fun. And Sunday night I'm takin' PsychoBilly and whoever wants to go with to the New Years Eve fireworks show in town. Anyone care whats goin' on in my head. Right now I'm really miffed at the fact She Who Shall Not Be Named keeps calling for a coworker. I knows she's got their damn cell number so why the F does she keep calling here? I mean, shit woman. You already threw shit at me, quit callin' here rubbin' it in my face. I just don't get some people. Are they so oblivious to the feelings of others or so gorram selfish that they feel they owe no explaination for their ignorance or lack of consideration? Who gets this? It makes no sense for such a great person to treat others as fodder for the angst caused by other people. As much as I would love for my anger to get the best of me... Aw screw it. I wanna vent at She Who Shall Not Be Named. I've done nothing to wrong her, but plenty to have wronged myself. Put yourself in harms way in the name of money. Sure. Its an incredible risk. You can lose your life or be incapacitated and have no further chance of working. Now but yourself in harms way in the name of love. Take off your armor and lay down your weapons. Give and take as a man. Be free of the binds holding you to your ideals and obligations. Forget, if only for a moment, your capacity to do good or evil. Just love and be loved. Just be. I wanted to give this a try. But it seems every time I try things end up worse than when they started. I grow further and further from the stars. As a child, I felt that if I reached just a little higher, I could feel the stars twinkling on my fingertips. Now, I have to look hard or grab some glass just to see them. Wow. If that all don't sound like an ass ripping bummer than I don't know what does. As for the good stuff: the kids are healthy, I love my family (despite the fact they drive me nuts sometimes), I still kinda like my job, I'm not in terrible debt, and I have a new 1911. The last one sounds a bit trivial, but Gorrammit, I worked hard all F'ing year and deserve it. I guess this is supposed to be the cap for 2006 for me. Pretty sure I won't have the chance to post here for a few days so here's to 2007. I hope it gets better for everyone.

I downloaded Firefly (illegally) two months ago and fell in love completely. Since then I have bought the tv-series and the movie on DVD and they are all great. Trying to fill the heartbreaking gap the cancellation created I even went and bought the comic and that one was not so great. I didn't like the graphics and the storytelling was off. I realize that it's almost impossible to translate a tv-episode/movie to a comic and tried to come up with examples that had been succesful in the past and could only come up with a couple of very good-looking issues of The X-files-comic (the ones about the first episodes) and a graphic novel made from the Alien-movie by Walt Simonson but that was all. So I have to give Joss Whedon right when he says he only wants to continue the Firefly-saga together with the actors in some way. Without them the magic is gone. (But I still love fan fiction... )

Hey all! Trying to make a splash upon entering the 'Verse. Just started watching a few months ago, and after several viewings of every episode, I've tried to move on to other things, to realize that Firefly's fate is sealed, and to cope with the stupidity of Fox depriving us of greatness. This attempt at denial has failed, however, and instead, I'm volunteering to fight the evil Alliance. We can bring our beloved show back if we try hard enough, and gorramit, I'm going to do my part. I am trying to set up a meeting and screening of Serenity in Milwaukee, WI. Anyone in the area should let me know, I need a lot of people to come to make it a success. If we can get it done, we may even be able to see the BDM on an 80 foot screen! Proud to be a member of the best fan group in the 'Verse.

Decided to put some thoughts down for today and I felt one way of doing that was to make a list of questions. Questions that I feel I already have the answers to.Here's the list: 1)Do any top brass F*x executives know the popularity of the Firefly television show that was cancelled in 02? A: Sure they do.Though they may not do any searches themselves there can be no way they do not know. The real question is do they care? 2) What is the resason for FF not being back on tv? A: Politics 3)Is the cancelled Firefly series still popular? A: Yes and still as strong as it ever was. Heck it's getting stronger each day. 4) Do ppl blame networks that cancell unsuccessful tv programing. A: No. IMO ppl are smart enough to understand when something is not working. There's an old saying" If you haven't made mistakes you aren't doing anything." We learn from our mistakes and lots of times are fogiven for them. This is the reason ppl are frustrated with F*x. We understand in the beginning the numbers were not there but time has passed and the nubers ARE there now. 5) Should FF/Serenity return to the small screen and big screen? A: Yes and yes. There is money to be made. What person would turn down winning lotto numbers? If F*x isn't happy with a show that was created for them then they should allow it to be developed by someone else. They can still keep their hands on a portion of the gains. Z

Warning: Boring introductory post. As you can tell, I'm new to the 'Verse. Back when Firefly debuted, I watched maybe five minutes of it. It wasn't that it was a bad show or anything like that. I just typically worked nights, and accidentally caught it in the break room one night. It was subsequently cancelled, and I guess I never noticed. Sadly, I wouldn't say I was alone on that one. My roommate of a couple years ranted and raved about how I should watch it, but I literally have 20+ shows I watch every week, and I was working a full-time job at the time, so I didn't feel like introducing a new show, regardless of its length. However, my life has become simpler lately, in that work is basically when I choose to (maybe I should bunk up on Serenity), and classes take up little time. I had worked at Gamestop, where we could get DVDs pretty cheap, and actually bought Serenity back in July or so of this year. I didn't want to watch it, though, because I had planned on watching Firefly before I get into the BDM, so I shelved it, and impatiently waited. A couple weeks ago, I finally broke down and bought the DVDs. I carved through them quite quickly, and moved onto the film. The couple tragedies aside, I really, really enjoyed the movie...but... That sinking feeling then fell upon me. There's nothing left (for now). No more of Mal's snappy one liners. No more finding ways to get rid of Jayne. No more "I'll be in my bunk" (I actually clapped when I heard it in the deleted scenes on BDM). No more Kaylee. :crap: :crap: I don't know how you Browncoats from the beginning were able to take this. I went one day between "Objects In Space" and BDM. You guys went over two years. I couldn't ever imagine that, so I commend your great patience, and perseverance as well. Anyhow, long story potentially longer, I just wanted to tell someone how hooked on this show I've now become, and how a part of me actually hurts a little at the thought that there may not be more to come. Sure, I'll buy the MMO on the day it releases, and I'll pick up all the comics that are on their way, but it's not the same. I need the crew, and I'd be pretty much willing to do whatever it takes to see them on screen again. Hell, Family Guy did it. Futurama is doing it. Why not Firefly? If you're still here, thanks. I needed to spill my guts to someone about the 'Verse.

Lets hope so at least... no one will know, not until it has passed anyway. 2006 was for me an average year not to exciting but certainly no anno horribilis. Now theres only this new year celebration everybody keeps insisting on, that leaves everybody hungover and disappointed afterwards, and we can all go on with our lives with the small difference in the numbers in the dates. I wish everybody a safe celebration and a splendid shiny new year....

That's right my friends and Browncoats, I's got myself a shiny new house!!! WOO HOO!! Well, it's been a week since we moved in and that's kinda why I haven't been on much. Cause I know if I come here I'm just gonna spend hours posting on threads and getting none of the unpacking or cleaning of the old apt done. Y'all are like a drug! Shame one you! lol! I am soooo very happy that we finally have our 1st house. It's not much to look at and needs a lot of TLC, but it's ours. Here's a couple pics of the house and move... THE HOUSE

Hi there, Just wanting to wish everyone a happy new year (yes I know it isn't exactly the new year but i don't expect to be online at midnight so i'm saying it now). Hope you all have a fantastic time whatever you are doing but don't drink too much. Just remember that drinking too much may lead to unwanted marriges with troublesome women. And we don't want that do we? TTFN Jennifer -x-

Heard a rumor a few weeks or so ago about Blizzard making a Firefly WoW. Is that just a rumor or is it really happening? Because that would be pretty awesome.
