BBB Nathan pic and a little fic update-iness

I had the wonderful experience of meeting one of my beta readers last weekend after attending the Flan That Wasn't and Then Was Again - which, by the way, was incredible but will be reported on elsewhere so I won't go into it here... except I will include this:



[Simpson's bully kid voice] Hah-ha! [/voice] I stood next to Nathan!

Anyway, I met with my fabulous beta person and told her the full deal I have planned for BackStories, some of which she has read already, and she agreed that I'm *insane*. This fic could easily be worked on for another full year! Any of you that have read my stuff know that I'm all into the characters and how they interact (um, mostly as regards the Captain), and what I'm trying to do with this newest fic is really, really challenging. I can't just beat the keyboard for a while and be done. There must be reads and rereads and redos and lots of thinking and more rereads and redos and beta-reads and redos, etc etc etc... before I can pull it off like I want to.

But... do not despair... Ms Beta also had suggestions on how I can move along a little faster. And really, as far as word count, I think I'm at least half done, so maybe it's not as bad as I think.

Really, I'm dying to get this fic done, because Ms. Beta is as choosy as they come, and if she liked it I know you all will too! But I won't give it to you bad.

Can I just promise that it'll be worth the wait?
