Well folks, that is, the two or so of you who might remember me, I'm back. After a long summer of recharging my batteries and working full time (actually, by dint of working a totally mindless job, those two are not necessarily mutually exclusive) I'm back on the ol' BDH express. It feels good to be back. I've done me level best to spread the good word of the 'verse in my absence. Hopefully, I won't be disappearing again for along stretch of time. It's amazing how easy it is to lose track of this wonderful little community when you don't have your own internet access. On a personal note, I want to thank everybody who voted for the Strawberry Awards. As a fanfic writer, it's nice to know that people read and, in fact, like one's work. Kudos to the winners, in all of the categories! Now, it's time to get started on my ginormous trilogy fic, which will if all goes well amount to roughly three full length novels by the time I'm done. God willing, I won't be cursing my own name for starting this thing!

Hey All I got some big news involving the greatest rock band in the world. For months now, there's been speculation that The Rolling Stones themselves are going to be coming to my quaint, little hometown of Regina, Saskatchewan for the first time in their nearly 50 year history. Now, for those Browncoats in Boston or New York or whatever city that they always go to whenever they tour, this may not seem like a big deal. But you have to understand. Even though the Maritimes may bitch about their current situation, the prairies (specifically Saskatchewan) is fairly low on the global cultural stage. So far, the only things we're known for is Leslie Nielsen and CORNER GAS. And when it comes to big musical acts that tour, for the most part they skip Saskatchewan completely, and if they do come to our rectangular province, they usually go up to Toon Town (that's Saskatoon for those who don't know prairie lingo). Well, last week, the worst kept secret in Regina history was confirmed and tickets went on sale yesterday. They were saying that they'll sell out in two hours. Turned out to be twenty minutes. And I was saying to myself that I absolutely have to get tickets for this, because I'm such a big Stones fan and if I were to miss out on them coming to my hometown, I'll be forever kicking myself. Well, even though I was working, my Mom (who I will be thanking endlessly) did the impossible and managed to get me a ticket to the biggest event Regina has ever seen, surpassing the two Grey Cups. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, I'M GOING TO SEE THE ROLLING STONES!!!!! Also, on a few side notes, I spoke too soon about Unity. I only did the one week there before we were transferred to Moose Jaw, so now I'm driving back and forth between here and Prairie Oasis Motel last, this and next week. So I'll only be in Unity for my last two weeks. The bad news about that is that we've been asked to stop doing so much overtime, so I don't know how much of a pay cut I'll be getting. But with expenses, should be enough to get me past my financial goal for the beginning fo the school year. And harvest is coming up, so there's that to fall back on. And I'm wondering if I should retire from the wedding videography business. See, I havn't done a wedding since October of last year, and I did one again last weekend. And the whole thing was a dream. The gal was the sweetest gal you'd ever meet and the groom for once wasn't a complete dick. And they actually toasted me in their thank yous to the crowd. They said that I record their memories. That, next to Don McKellar telling me that Quentin Tarantino is exactly like me, was one of the best compliments I've ever heard. So after I edit the footage together and give them the final product, I should quit on this perfect high note instead of being disenfranchised and burned by the experience. Well, that's it for me now, folks. And on a side note, for those Stones fans out there, Chapter 8 of my epic series YOU CAN'T GO HOME AGAIN has River and her band playing "Honky Tonk Woman" and "Gimmee Shelter" to a newly disenfranchised generation. Would like a rock perspective on that, please. Peace

Wow! I feel like I have fallen of the radar over the past week! I have been soooooo busy with school I have not had any time to check in with all my shiney Firefly pals! Anyways, school has been a nightmere! Papers left and right, presentations, exams, final exams....I pretty much want to go fetal and cry! *boo, hoo, hoo* Thankfully, I only have another week and a half and then I can go get extreamly drunk and forget the last 12 weeks ever happened...anybody know where they serve mudders milk around here??? So the momster (who is home from hospital thankyouverymuch) called and said - "get a camera and take pictures of all the things {he} promised to fix and finish and never did. If he wants to take pictures of the "luxury" you live in - have pictures that shows what a tumbledown piece of crap your house really is" So I am gonna. Cause you gotta do what your mother says!

1. Serenity Wash: Everything looks good from here...Yes. Yes, this is a fertile land, and we will thrive. We will rule over all this land, and we will call it... "This Land." I think we should call it "your grave!" Ah, curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal! Ha ha HA! Mine is an evil laugh! Now die! Oh, no, God! Oh, dear God in heaven! 2. The Train Job Mal: Drunks are so cute. Inara: What did I say to you about barging into my shuttle? Mal: That it was manly and impulsive? Mal: Have you got time to do my hair? Inara: Out. Jayne:You've got the light.. from the console.. keep you, lift you up. They shine like... ...little angels... 3. Bushwhacked Kaylee: So I guess that makes us one man short. Jayne: Little Kaylee's always one man short. Jayne: Looked bigger when I couldn't see him. Wash: The legs. Oh yeah, definitely have to say it was her legs. You can put that down. Her legs, and where her legs meet her back. Actually, that whole area. That, and above it. Wash: Have you seen what she wears? Forget about it. Have you ever been with a warrior woman? 4. Shindig Wash: You want a slinky dress? I can buy you a slinky dress. Captain, can I have money for a slinky dress? Kaylee: Yes, sir, Captain Tightpants. Zoe: You could lock the door and keep the power-hungry maniac at bay. Wash: Oh, no, I'm starting to like this poetry idea now. "Here lies my beloved Zoe, my autumn flower, somewhat less attractive now she's all corpsified and gross..." Mal: Use of a swo... what? River: Sure, I got a secret. More than one. Don't seem likely I'd tell 'em to you now, do it? Anyone off Dyton Colony knows better than to talk to strangers. You're talking loud enough for the both of us though, ain'tcha? I've known a dozen like you. Skipped off home early, running graft jobs here and there. Spent some time in the lock down, but less than you claim. And you're what? Petty thief with delusions of standing? Sad, little king of a sad, little hill. Inara: How did I avoid that? Mal: By being fast like a freak? 5. Safe River: The human body can be drained of blood in 8.6 seconds given adequate vacuuming systems. Mal: See, morbid and creepifying, I got no problem with, long as she does it quiet-like. Jayne: I like smackin' 'em. Jayne: "Dear Diary, Today I was pompous and my sister was crazy." "Today, we were kidnapped by hill folk never to be seen again. It was the best day ever." 6. Our Mrs. Reynolds Jayne: Oh, I think you might wanna reconsider that last part. See, I married me a powerful ugly creature. Mal: How can you say that? How can you shame me in front of new people? Jayne: If I could make you purtier, I would. Mal: You are not the man I met a year ago. Mal: ...I swear by my pretty floral bonnet I will end you. Mal: How drunk was I last night? Book: The special hell. Saffron: I do know my bible, sir. On the night of their betrothal the wife shall open to the man as the furrow to the plow. He shall work in her again and again, til she bring him to his full. And rest him then upon the sweat of her breast. Mal: Whoa. Good bible. Mal: But she was naked! And all... articulate! 7. Jaynestown Mal: Jayne? Jayne: Yeah? Mal: You want to tell me how come there's a statue of you here looking at me like I owe him something? Wash: I think they captured him, though - you know...captured his essence. Kaylee: Looks sort of angry, don't he? Wash: That's kinda what I meant. Busker: Jayne, The man we call Jayne, He robbedf rom the rich and he gave to the poor Stood up to the Man and he gave him what for, Our love for him now ain't hard to explain, The Hero of Canton, the man they call Jayne... 8. Ok I was sitting in traffic on my way home from work and I started to wonder how many people around me, if any, were fellow browncoats. You know if when I'm at the grocery store or the mall or hell just walking down the street and I'm passing browncoats and have no way of knowing.

I had no idea how hard it was to move!! I'm moving from my home in garden city south, to Elwood..in Huntington 45 minutes away from here. I'm moving on august 5th. I had no idea i had so much stuff. It's so hard to pack all of it! I'm so stressed out. And I'm so worried. I'm going into High School not knowing ANYBODY. And I'm naturally shy when i meet people. Of course after i meet them I'm fine it's just...it's amazing I have friends with this shyness issue. Say...does anybody here live in Huntington?

As of tonight, I have finished my From Under The Cork Tree series of fanfic. And I think it's time to reflect on what I spent four months of my life musing over and wanting to occasionally stab Pete Wentz. Don't worry, I wouldn't... Two Quarters and a Heart Down..., which was inspired by 'Dance, Dance', came easy enough. Shindig is my favorite episode and just putting in that mindset of when they're dancing and bam! I had it. It was a good place to start... A Little Less Regret, A Little More 'What If...', inspired by 'A Little Less Sixteen Candles, A Little More 'Touch Me'', was written when I was flaking off a Spanish project. The song made me think of the everyone thinking about what could have happened betweened Mal and Inara. So using the lyrics as intervals made the most sense to me. This one is very unique because it's the only one that isn't titled with some sort of lyric and the only time the lyrics were used like they were. I'm Not Sure If It Matters, inspired by 'Get Busy Living Or Get Busy Dying (Do Your Part To Save The Scene And Stop Going To Shows)', was an idea I had bouncing around for a while but the fic took awhile for me to like. I think it ended up being more inspired by the spoken word part at the end of the song. It reminded me of River more than anything so I thought of her just getting into Mal and Inara's heads... Love Never Wanted Me, inspired by 'XO', actually took me some time to get the idea for. And I don't understand why it did! And it finally struck me one day. I think this one is my personal favorite of the ones I wrote... Now I Only Waste It Dreaming Of You..., inspired by 'Of All The Gin Joints In All Of The World', was also a bit of a snag. I was constantly worried that I didn't do Inara justice, but I'm glad it turned out the way it did now. ^^ The Best Liars, inspired by 'Our Lawyer Made Us Change The Name Of This Song So We Wouldn't Get Sued', isn't my favorite. I really think this one could have been done better, but I couldn't think of any other ideas for it. Ah well... Not The Desperate Type..., inspired by '7 Minutes In Heaven (Atavan Halen)', was just a cute little idea that came from somewhere. I think I may have overdone Kaylee's drawl a bit, but I am happy with how it turned out. The Lies Just Won't Stop Slipping, inspired by 'I’ve Got A Dark Alley And A Bad Idea That Says You Should Shut Your Mouth (Summer Song)', was the first in the 'dream duet'. This one came at the same time as Brace Yourself and I definately tried to make it fit the sound of the song, which is lucid and tragic in a way. I was really worried about ruining the intergrity of the lyrics but I think it turned out just fine. Brace Yourself, inspired by 'I Slept With Someone In Fall Out Boy And All I Go Was This Stupid Song Written About Me', was the second part in the 'dream duet'. The song is more abrasive than 'Dark Alley', so the fic turned out the same way. As for the River sneaking into his dream thing...I honestly don't remember where that idea came from, but I think it added an extra creepyfing factor to the fic. Worse Luck and Far Less Gold, inspired by 'Sophmore Slump Or Comeback Of The Year', was one of the ones that gave me so much trouble. But after reading the lyrics and listening to the song, I just finally imagined River musing on several aspects of her life. It came out nicer than I imagined... Scars and Stories, inspired by 'Champange For My Real Friends, Real Pain For My Sham Friends', was another tough one that didn't come for the longest time. Then, I just started seeing Saffron in my head everytime I heard the song. I tried to push her out but she wouldn't go away. So...there she is... I ended up describing the garbage bin too big though. XD Keep My Jealousy Close, inspired by 'Nobody Puts Baby In The Corner', was probably the most allusive. I was planning on trying to keep it and the fic for 'Sugar' paired together(like it started in 'Baby' and e

So... I'm seriously considering breaking down and buying the 'real' deal. After casing the internet (namely eBay) for aproximate matches I've come up with three options. 1. International Male suede jacket. It is a decent match, and a decent price. A very nice coat indeed. However, I cannot find my size. 2. Space City costumes. They make a Browncoat custom fit. However, it is not made of real leather. Only faux suede and vinyl. 3. Abbyshot. So very, very pretty. Rather pricy, but I'm almost willing to take the blow. My good sense is at war with my fandom. I so want to have a very nice suede jacket. I so know that my mum would be aghast if I spent over $100 on anything. However, my mum does not dictate my life, contrary to popular belief. I work and make my own money. I only live at home for two more weeks. Then it's back to school. Back to freedom. However, the relevant conundrum remains. As does my random enthrallment with a boy. I shall not go on. Good night and good luck. (Oh, and advice would be hot.)

I just played a trivia game on MSN Games called "You Know It! Celebrity Trivia" and the category was TV to Films. I usually rock at this category since I am a movie buff but it was such a pleasant surprise to find a "Serenity" question in there. It was really easy. "Serenity was based on what cancelled science fiction show?" It was just cool to see that question because usually mainstream trivia games only ask questions about Star Trek and Star Wars. It was nice to see we're not forgotten. That was completely awesome. I might just go play it again just so I can see the question. I know... I'm a nut. I need a life! EDIT: I had another Serenity spotting today. I was reading the current issue of Entertainment Weekly and it was an article on how Hollywood changed the web. Anyways...there was a small blurb about the fans pleading on the net for the return of Firefly and got the movie Serenity. It was a small downer though when they said it only grossed $26 million. Why do they focus on the negative?

Yep, two more {hard} working days to Pennsic! I'm a flutter. Or at least without much sleep. ;-) Too ruttin' hot here, but Mr. Weatherman promised today'll be the last day. If he lied, I'm gonna hunt him up...with Vera. Still amazed that 4 hour NORTH of here it was even hotter the past few days. Oh, and more new neighbors in my apartment building. Joy. Rapture. To folks who will someday do the same, as few bits 'o advise for getting along with folks in close quarters. 1.) Do NOT move in at 11:45 p.m. This will really p*ss your new neighbors off. 2.) Sound carries, especially the bass from steros. If you want to figure out if your stuff is too loud, put it on. Pick up your keys and go into the hallway. Shut the door. If you can hear it, it's WAY too loud and will make other folks unhappy. 3.) TV home theaters do not belong in building with shared walls....EVER. 4.) Leaving your stinky garbage in the hall is just gross, and makes folks think wolves would have done a better job raisin' you than your folks apparently did. 5.) If your pet poops in the hallway...Clean It Up. (see #4.) 6.) If your roommate/boyfriend/girlfriend won't let you in at 2am, do not lean on someone else's buzzer unless you want said buzzer inserted rectally. 7.) Do not walk away from the electric stove if you're frying/deep frying something. It's a recipie for burning the building down. As a matter of fact, when doing that kind of cooking, keep the fire extinguisher handy. Or lots of flour. Do not use water. 8.) Do not practice with your garage band in your apartment. There is a reason it's called a garage band. Go find a garage....far away. 9.) Don't decide to put nails in the walls after 8pm. 10.) Unless you're on the bottom floor, jumping jacks are right out. Okay, I'm a bit testy right now. Sorry about that. Happy news! I've finally put up a piccy of my car's antenna ball that I made. Go check it out and let me know what ya think. :) Well, that's all the news that's fit to print for the moment.

Ok so I managed SOMEHOW to pay all my bills this month. I dutifully paid the July mortgage - late, but before the 31 - bringing me up to date. Because of the tires for #1 and the medicine for #2 - I knew I would be overdrawn - but child support would cover it. Get the child support last night, which my son dutifully put in the overnight deposit box. Well today, I check the account at 5:35 pm and the idiots at the bank have deposited the money into #1's account. NOT MINE. Which makes no sense as #1 used MY information and put my name on the deposit envelope. So the crux of this matter is that NOW my mortgage payment has been reversed. I realize that all this can be solved with an irate phonecall on the morrow, but it isn't the point. WHAT IS GOING WRONG? Why am I having so much trouble? How are innocent things that have never gone wrong begore now ALWAYS going wrong? Can someone read my stars? I mean GEEZ. Can I get a Feng Shui master to come sort me out? Any wiccan's have any pull with mother nature? What is the deal? Everyone keeps telling me to be positive and that Friday will go my way - but peeps - if a simple deposit can go awry...... And I am not a pessimistic person. I am usually pretty upbeat. And now all I want to do is cry. I don't really even want to post, because I am in such a bad mood all the time. Well. Shit. Excuse the French. Now I have to call my mom and see about borrowing the August mortgage, and grocery money. The cats are down to 1 day of food left, and who knows what the 47 kids are eating while I spend all my time making up time off. This also means no 2nd job so less money. I give up. I feel so crummy and useless.

I finally posted the last of my "Nightmare" series, and the flurry of replies I've gotten has been surprising and a bit overwhelming, to say the least. Honestly, this was a difficult series to write, as some of the dreams that were explored were based on nightmares I myself have had at one time or another. All in all, I hope I've done our crew proud, and am happy to say that I look forward to writing some much less angsty fiction in the future. Stay tuned...

I hate dial-up. It's so sloooow. Fact is, it's about as swift off the mark as Simon with girls. I really need broadband. Spent half a day just loading the latest chapter. Can't catch up with my fellow Forsaken, or the Imponderables, because the threads take so long to load, the damn thing crashes! It's quite something, when you get so addicted to a site, that you actually want to be in work, just so as you can use the fast computers. Still, latest chapter up. It's a bit rough, but it's a bridge to the action-y bit. And I couldn't resist a teenage Cobb (who could?) Just saw a picture of AB in his first film role, and there he was - Tyler Cobb, sweet seventeen and ready for the Black. Of course, Mal thinks it will be nice for River to have a friend her own age. But then, Mal is probably slower than Simon. Or my gorram computer...

Just looking for a bit of advice, found the following job, looks quite interesting:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, bright and willing person to employ as a Driver/Trainee. Initially you will be delivering equipment before progressing to learn camera, lighting and sound preparation. After proving your competence there are further opportunities for the right person to make their career in TV. A clean driving licence is essential and you must be over 21.
Personally, I think it sounds great, it's not exactly what I want, but it's a guaranteed contract, it's in TV and it's a foot in the door towards what I want to be doing. I reckon I'm pretty much exactly what they're after, I've just come out of a media degree, I've got some technical experience and I'm hugely enthusiastic about the medium. Okay, now here's the bad news: It's in Middlesex. I've just signed a 12-month contract to live in Swansea, if I move out I have to find someone to replace me or I'm stuck footing the rent. For those that don't know, there's about 200 miles between the two places. Anyway, I'm just looking for a little advice, obviously there's no guarantee I'd even get an interview, but I figure I'd open it up to public opinion, rather than just having all these conflicting throughs swimming around in my head. Apply and risk not making enough to cover both rent payments or wait til my contract's up and hope something better/more local comes along?

So anyway, I was going to my school to register for the new year and I am proudly wearing my Serenity shirt...while waiting in line for my new books one of my next years teachers notices the shirt and starts a conversation about Browncoats, the movies, the injustice of it all...y'know all that. This is the first time since I got the shirt that it has caught the attention of a fellow Browncoat and needless to say I am looking forward to attending this teachers class this school year! Woot, I am soo happy to meet another Browncoat, despite the immense age difference...just proves the greatness of Firefly in my opinion...not that it needed proving!

Saw the Attorney today - who shall heretofore be known as Arthur. Arthur says that he can't imagine us not doing well. Of course I didn't tell him that I could. He did mention that we might be put off tomorrow - which means more waiting. So I hope that doesn't happen, else I will have to move us all to some tropical island and sell seashells on the seashore. Thanks for all the pep talks and good wishes. Keep the vibes coming. I will let you all know what happens as soon as I can. And HEY - the Forsaken and Imponderables threads are gettin to long for some of our sistren and brethren to load - we gotta slow down peeps! Or start new threads faster! LOL And MSG - thanks for the pep music - it hit the spot!

Yes, well, I have finally decided to throw caution to the wind and use my free hand to take hold of some measure of responsibility, meaning I've actually logged in for once, with the express purpose of introducing myself to this fine community of Browncoats. Before proverbially diving into a message board discussion, I thought it would be best to start here, as the shock of a new name is often sure to stop an intelligent discussion in its tracks, at least for some small amount of time. Something my conscience wouldn't allow me to do. 'Cause I'm considerate like that. To introductions, then. My name, as you might have noticed, is Vicomte. I was first introduced to Firefly way back in the early days of the year of our Lord Two-thousand and six, or, perhaps more appropriately, roughly eight months ago. I am a regular over at the Starwars.com blogs, wherefore a few friends of mine introduced me to the 'Verse we all know and love. After weeks of hearing of this 'Firefly' I just had to see what all the fuss was about, and not being a cat, I was not the least bit worried about my mortality, though lately I do sometimes question my sanity, but in a good way, of course. It was then that one day it came to my attention that the Comcast cable provider was offering Firefly as part of its Video On Demand service. Being intrigued as I was, I decided to check it out, for the low low limited-time only price of three bucks per three episodes. After some complex calculations I have discovered that I was paying for Firefly at a rate of one dollar per episode. Imagine my suprise. The episodes were arranged in the standard Fox 'Out of Order', which I learned afterward. In this sense my first viewings of Firefly were much like those of you folks that were here since the very beginning, meaning 4:3 aspect ratio and wondering why cowboys were playing chinese checkers, as well as trying to figure out why the last episode was of double-length and taking place before the first episode. Sure, there weren't any commercials, and I watched the whole series in a matter of three days, but, other than that, I consider my experience to be much like the original. I also experienced the same sadness when it was over, and the same happiness when I learned of the film, and the same exhilaration upon seeing the film. I like to think that my 'Browncoat Experience' is exactly like that of the original air time fan, only highly compressed. Instead of waiting three years for the film after watching the series, I waited three days. Instead of three minutes for commercials, it was three seconds. It's proportional! Anywho, I've come a long way since then, and have developed a strong love/hate relationship with the 'Verse. Mostly love. You know how it is. I'm pretty much your average Browncoat, obsessed, but in a good way. I have a sizeable collection I'm quite proud of, I listen to the podcasts, I visit the websites, I watch an average of one episode a day (always in order, complete with Serenity where appropriate), I attended a Serenity Day screening, and I of course have my very own Jayne hat, and yes, it is very cunning, no matter what anyone else thinks. So here's me, on the raggedy edge. Stay shiny, Vicomte

Ok I was reading through the thread of support for FMF and everyone was so wonderful that you made me cry. Now I know I'm not the only one who did but I'm at work so now I have to figure up an excuse for a runny nose and teary eyes...oy vay... I'm too emotional

Well my fine friends - we got bumped. Baldwin County Al is the fastest growing county in the US, with Foley being the fastest growing city. Nowhere is this more apparent- apparently- then in the court rooms of Baldwin County. Me and Mine (StepDadster and the Mommy and I) dutifully arrived at the alloted time to find 25 other cases as well. We waited around for the order of the cases to be set and finally the judge offered to see us on Monday afternoon or at some other as yet named date. So I guess Monday is the better of the two. Now, it comes to light that the ExMrFMF has somehow forgotten that I am the smarter of the two of us. I say this because at one point his lawyer told my lawyer that they were willing to "Let" me have the house, the kids, $600 a month alimony (NOT RETROACTIVE) IF I we would agree to forgiving the truck debt. We of course laughed in their faces (well we didn't but it would have been funny) and told them that gee WE would agree to the original settlement AND he pays for the truck. Bottom line, some idiot has convinced this idiot that the house that is falling apart around us is worth $211,000.00. This same house that we got a $132,000,00 loan on in July of '04. He seems to think that by "letting" me have the house he is losing out on that equity and I should be willing to pay my parents back the $21,000,00 they gave him for a truck I have never driven and don't own. So its off to court we go. The way it looks now - My attorney is going to argue that in July of '04 Randy (thats the asshole) initiated a divorce and signed settlement papers that gave me the house, its contentsm the kids, 2 of the 4 vehicles, and $1300 a month. Now - but for an error on the part of his attorney (she didnt send in a form) we would be divorced. therefore - BARE MINIMUM we should get the original inforced. He is also going to try and argue that I had no idea my husband was shagging the neighbor and had I known would not have agreed to the original divorce - But I have pretty much settled on taking the original and being ecstatic if I get more. Anyway - any opinions? Is it just me or is this man crazy to want to have a judge hear all the crap he has done? Oh and she is a Pregnant judge. A Republican, Conservative, Christian, mother and pregnant wife. Um, Houston I think the asshole has a problem. Upshot - I still ain't got no money. Mom has to buy #2's uniform and will probably pay my house payment and buy some groceries. All because Randy couldn't keep his willie in his pants. What a complete piece of crap.

I cannot express this enough, but I have a feeling it will be explained many times over... The A Fever You Can't Sweat Out series starts with 'Relax, Relapse'(which is now the offical prologue) and Part One is 'A Passing Fantasy'. Just figured I'd state that because everything is now falling in order of the album, minus 'Camisado'. And unlike the fics I did for From Under The Cork Tree, they'll all have some sort of connection. It'll be a head trip for sure, but they'll be connected. Okay, you can go on with your lives now. ^^

Sadly, as we have all noticed, the rush of school draws near and I have far less time on here than I want. I will still be around. I just wanted to explain why I might not be around quite as much:)

September 19th (Tak Like A Pirate Day!) is the day of Tempe, AZ Shindig! Thus far, it looks like the Arizona is only 75$ short of bringing the Bedlam Bards here in the desert. I'm really looking forward to it. I'll be going with a fellow Browncoat, and might bring my LEGO Mule (The hover one), assumin' it doesn't explode. I'm holding off on watching Serenity until that day so I can enjoy the full experience (As if watching Serenity on the big screen with a bunch of Browncoats and the Bedlam Bards isn't shiny enough!) On another note, I'm tryign another Browncoat conversion today. I let a friend of mine borrow the Firefly box set. Here's to adding another to our league! Alex signing off.

Or I will be in 10 hours. Lots to do yet between now and then, plus trying to get some shut eye. I'm gonna have serious withdrawl while I'm gone. I may also swipe my campmate's laptop. I'm having one of the merchants I'm camping with do up some Firefly buttons. I want one that says, "I'm a Browncoat, ask me how!" So, stay shiny folks! *waves*

I've had so many of these lately I wish it wasn't so ruttin' hot out, else I'd wear my Mal costume proudly everywhere for the duration of Serenity Summer. Anyway. Digression. I'm an instructor for steam-locomotive firemen, and last weekend I had a fairly-new student (only worked with him once before). Target-rich environment? Believe it. I was showing him how to fill and start one of the lubricators, which involves opening a series of valves and then regulating an oil feed, which you can observe coming from a needle in a sight glass. So I was staring intently through this glass, verbally urging this one drop of oil to drip from the needle: "C'mon! Ain't got all day! I promise you that gorram needle is not gonna miss you, let's go!" My student's reaction: "Gorram needle. That sounds like something you'd hear about on Star Trek or somethin'." My smugly grinning reply: "Or somethin'. I got that from another short-lived science-fiction show I was quite fond of." That was the end of that conversation...for the moment. But who, I asked myself later, woulda thunk that teaching new firemen could potentially yield so many new Browncoats? I have two new guys tomorrow. Pardon me while I arm myself to deal with them appropriately. SERENITY NOW!!!!! (Edited to add: point of interest - the piece of equipment we were working on was the Nathan Hydrostatic Lubricator. Coincidence? I think not.)

The pregnant kitty hasn't shown up for a few days, which probably means the kittens have arrived, I can't wait to see them. I'll let you know when she brings them.

So here I sit. listening to massive attack and underworld. Interesting mix, but fitting. just watched Stay and Vanilla sky. Again, odd mix, but fitting. Actually the two are rather similar. Even in thier choice of music. And, now I see this has abso-bloody-lutely nothing to do with Firefly. How so very rare.
Saturday, 05 August 2006 15:32:13
Well, time for me to be off to the island of Gotland for a week long drunken revilry, medieval style. Expect to have a great deal of fun but unfortunetly there will be no DvD player in the apartment were renting so that means no Firefly. After this week long party I imagine I will be in grave need for another Firefly "fix". See you all in a week! And wish me luck, cause I have to take a ride with a ferry to get to the Island and all you who know me well also know that im completely terrified of water.

 Lately I have been getting into trouble at work for stupid stuff like raising my voice at the older kids and what it sounded like was a some kind of arm lock?????? I really don't know. But last night I found out that it was a lot of people there trying to get my friend and myself fire for being who we are. So me being me did my job to the "T". I sat back and watched them argue with the kids, Then one said, "Are you going to do something?" I just looked at her and siad, "This isn't my group, it's yours." she didn't like me for rest of the night. But the best part was when all of them were at the table with us I looked at them then to the charge nures and said, "Miss Jamie, seeing that your the charge nures, may I please raise my voice to the kids to quiet them down." And I smiled at them after. They all got up and left the table. one of them stopped and started to talk to me and I cut them off by telling them. "Your speaking and I'm not listening... Why? Don't you have your charting to do? If I was you I'd get it done before someone gose to the front and RATS you out to the gorram feds." Them didn't get it, but my friends and I did. It was my best day ever. --Chiefy

Commercial Intermission Commercial: The camera pans around the galley inside Serenity. We see Jayne enter, famous hat and all, and head to the refrigerator. Jayne opens the door and the camera pulls in tight for a shot of the shelves, lined with bottles of Blue Sun Beer. Jayne grabs a beer, pops the top in his teeth, spits the cap across the kitchen and turns to the camera as he heads to the table. Jayne sets down Vera and says... "Ya know, after a long hard day of Heroics like outrunnin the alliance, or shootin' it out with some back water goon, I like ta take me a little time ta enjoy the better things in life. Thats why I grab a bottle a ice cold Blue Sun Beer, it quenches a man-sized, powerful thirst." Jayne props his leg up on the chair and start to swig the beer. After a big swallow, Jayne spits the beer out all over the table. "Gorramit! Thats the worst tastin' swill I ever done had. Tastes like rancid cat piss. Where the ruttin hell is that director, I got me some contract negotiations ta attend to." Jayne grabs Vera off the table and heads off camera. You hear muffled shouting along the lines of 'No, please it wasn't my..." Followed by several loud popping noises. Jayne heads back on camera, grabs the Blue Sun Beer Girl, turns to the camera and says... "Anyone needs me we'll be in my bunk..." Jayne talks to the girl as they leave muttering "Gonna take me a week ta git that taste outta my mouth. Tastes like a squirle done up and died under my tounge...." Jingle ensues... Blue Sun Beer It's not the best, But if you don't drink it, Your under arrest. "Hey git your gorram hand offa' me." "Breach of what, I ain't carin' what the ruttin hell you say, I ain't tellin' nobody ta drink that fermented camel dung!" "Wait how much? Well I'll be damned, must just been that one bottle, this stuff is ...uuuuuuugggggghhhhhh.... ummmm yummy yeah thats it just downright yummy...."

No complaints. I deleted my submitted pictures and fanfic and left only the Buddhist Metaphoricals in the Blue Sun Room. Maybe I'll write something better and DRAW MORE...or SOME! I never do what I tell myself to do. Need to though. Hope that my fellows have been well, and if not I wish it for you all in the best of words... By the way: If anyone who said they were willing to 'say goodbye' to me when I leave, I got the date moved from September 02, 2006 to October 05, 2006, so there's plenty of time.

I went to the local music festival yesterday: munkyfest: it was so awesome!! Unfortuneatley I couldn't camp at the festival, as I am under 18, (this was the last ever one as well, so I never will get to :disappointed:) but me and my 2 best friends stayed till midnight, just relaxing, listening to the bands and chatting to the random new friends we made. I met this really cool guy called matt, who was friends with one of the bands (the for tomorrows), so we got to meet all of them, which was great. It was so random, how we met, He said something to one of his friends, and I laughed, and then he just started talking to me, showed me a boat someone had drawn on his arm, then asked me to draw something better on his other arm! We just got chatting, then he came and sat with us , and he brought all his friends over to meet us, it was hilarious! What was really great though, was that even though these guys were all at least 5 years older than us, they treated us like adults, were really respectful of us, and didn't try anything on. Anywho, I really enjoyed myself, and I really wish there was going to be another one!

I finally finished and posted Chpater 2! YEA! Now, on to Chapter 3. I'm trying to get a two-week turn around with these things now. One week to type and send to my betas, the next to polish and correct based on their reactions. Who knows, maybe I'll get motivated and finish the next one in a week. No, probably not.

Will be back in court at 1:30 tomorrow CST. Please send positive kharma to the me :) Had a friend of my moms do a valuation on the house. She is a realtor. Wanted to be able to combat Randys nonsense that this 2 bedroom 50 year old house with no updating is worth 211,000.00. She tells me -I would be lucky to get 160,000. LOL. I am really sorry this has gottem to this point. I know you will all think I am crazy, but I envisioned a divorce where we all still had holiday dinners and he and his new wife would be my friend. Because that is who I am. I still love him and I always will. It just breaks my heart. But never fear. I still want his ass beat! Going to bed. #2 and I are pooped. Love to all my Browncoat Family!

:vomit: This is what it looked like at work to night. In the dinning room with the older kids after they all ate their dinner and were lined up to go back to the unit. One of the little gosa's yaked on one of the others, I ran to the door because it started a chain reaction. So here I am with 18 boys yaking all over each other in the ruttin dinning room. All I could think was, "Yep...That went well." --Chiefy A.K.A. Billygoat

This weekend, I was watching Serenity with my father and eldest brother when my Dad pointed out to me that there is no nudity in this film and this surprised me. This movie is one of the greatest films of all time, full of action and conflict, suspense and angst, fear and love, its a brilliant masterpiece that stirs millions of emotions in the mind and shoots them around at lightspeed. yet, unlike every other "brilliant" film that has come out in the past few years, it doesnt have any sex scenes or nudity, it didnt need it!! thats how amazingly talented Whedon and the wonderful actors of that world are. the story was so amazing and so well thought and delieved that it could just exist without the nude scenes that have become a trademark of films as of late.

Yessss! I made another. It's blindingly simple. I go: "Here, put this in." She says: "what is it?" I go: "Just put it in." And then she's hooked. We watched the first four episodes. Amazing. Now I'm out to catch her brother (in more ways than one...heh.)

If you like the wallpaper images I post in the BSR, you might like some of my non-Firefly ones. I have Lord of the Rings, Johnny Depp, Ewan McGregor and some other random stuff. Most are movie screencaps. I'm set to make some Star Wars ones soon. Anyhow, check em out and leave me some love right here.

Love should never be unconditional... unconditional love is destructive, naive, over romantic bullshit.. one should hang on to ones ego... Motherhood is not the only way for a woman to realize herself... respect to all the women out there that has become mothers, either by choice or by accident, but the choice to not have children should also be respected..! Alcohol and drug use and abuse may be the reason and cause behind a lot of great songs and literature, but its not gonna make you the coolest kid in the world. Intoxication is fun now and then,by all means party, but most people are cooler sober. It will never be peace on earth! Even if we all become pacifists and vegetarians.. Saying there is a lot of people who's situation is worse is NOT a comfort. If anything it makes me feel even worse. If I feel a bit blue, being reminded that the world sucks does not help. Well, I think thats all for now....

I have been accused of airing my dirty laundry. I say to the accuser - Pee on you and the horse you rode in on! If you don't want to know, don't click on the link. Stay in the RWED and continue to make friends and influence people. As to my friends here on this shiny board - the ones that matter to me and whose opinion I value - Thanks for all the words of encouragement. Its all good.

YIPEEE!!!! I dont have them all because my husband stopped me from buying the store out but at least I got some! Lots of Jayne cards, which is great and thank heavens there are no doubles!! Woohoo! *sigh* This is just another way to add fuel to the fire. Now I'm gonna go persuade the man to let me get the Firefly Trading Card Album. Guess I have to start wearing more lingerie around. ;) Edit: You know whats even more funny, I have never collected any kind of trading cards in my life but when I walked into the store and saw them... I squealed! It almost makes me wonder what I'm going to do next.

OH YEAH! I forgot to tell you what the crappy asshole lawyer (who lost the fight mind you) said to me whilst I was on the stand - He asked me "Wouldn't you agree that had you been the wife you should have been your husband would not have left you" Yeah - he did. Really.

On the bright side of things, I finished my very last final for the spring/summer semester today...I get a whole two weeks off before getting back to that pile of books I shoved under my bed (if you can't see them, their not there). I am pretty sure I had another stright A semester and last I checked my overall GPA was up to 3.9 killer! I also just found out that I got two really huge scholarships, one of them pays for all of my tution and books for two semesters and the other one is more cash on top of that to help out with expenses and what not...so that was really good news  OK, I'm done now...time to start my vacation...where's my PSP controller??? I go for my Maryland Drivers License tomorrow at 11:00am, and am sanguine(AKA, Confident), that by 1:00 or sooner, depending on how long it takes to finish the test, I'll FINALLY get my license! well, that's all for now, JOSSISAGOD!

Well, I'm fully immersing myself in this environment, so I figured I'd write a short, one o'clock flavored entry to kick things off. So, firstly, first things first, I'm going to write a haiku, about my favorite bounty hunter the great, (hopefully not) late, Jubal Early: Worthy Nemesis Here I am, Does that Seem Right? Am I a Lion? Thank you! Thank you! Bouquets and cornish game hens can be sent care of my po box!
Wednesday, 09 August 2006 10:11:24
So frustrating - I have so many fics in my head, and not enough time to get them typed and posted. At least I have the rest of Cold Comfort Mountain drafted out now. I'm hoping that Tyler will be an interesting factor in this little caper. Watching Jayne having to be a responsible authority figure should be good for a laugh or two. And watching Mal realise that Tyler thinks that his little pilot is a sweetheart should be a riot. 'Cos Mal is in charge and in control and it's his job to be protective, gorramit. *Yeahright* I also have some crackfic in the works. My original short crossover for the challenge mutated, and will now be a longer fic. I want to go back to some plot bunnies I started in 'Zen' as well. And there is something very cracktastic that came out of late night insomnia, coffee and cough medicine. Then there is the feeglefic. And I have some ideas about Jayne on Londinium... Bloody hell. I'm writing a second season all by myself here. My head is getting crowded. And I'll be getting the Firefly OVC soon - who knows what goodies I'll pick out of that... Mind you, perhaps folks will get fed up reading them, and I'll have to store them away with the huge heap of Potterfic I never got round to posting. 60,000+ words at last count.
Wednesday, 09 August 2006 14:22:11
Okay, so, really, it just never goes smooth. But this is why we playtest right? BWAH! The Vampire Slayer is gonna take longer than expected to produce. Mostly because the playtest showed some GAPING BLACK HOLES in the mechanics. For example, Vampires had the ability to embrace others with a ROCKET LAUNCHER...so that has to be fixed, despite the humour value. That was just one of the few dozen things that made characters too uberpowerful. Also, Fruity Oaty Bar the game...still trying to find ways to get the game down to a 20-30 minute format instead of 4 hours...*sigh*. It's fun, but loooooooong. I want it to be quicker, so still working on that. In better news, I have tons more stuff at my Space Bazaar
Wednesday, 09 August 2006 16:10:15
Well, I have been done with training for almost a week now, but still have not posted any stories. I have some sort of mental block, and I am trying to push my way through it. There's a decent amount of stuff going on in my personal life right now, not to mention a second job that keeps me away on the weekends. I will try to get chapter 4 of From Bad To Worse posted today or tomorrow. As I have stated before, I plan for it to be 10 chapters, and my goal is to get them done by the time of DragonCon, though that may be an impossible goal at this point. I have kinda stalled out on Sailing Beyond the Sunset. I know where the story is going, and I know how I want to get there, but the words and the little details just aren't coming to me. Anyone have a muse I can borrow for a bit? In other news, I am really really really looking forward to DragonCon. I get paid this week from the fed job, which will pay bills and provide groceries and gas, and I am working 5 shifts at the restaurant, so that cash will go towards my hotel room and food/booze/smokes for the weekend. I can't wait to meet the 3 BDHs and the countless members of this site who will be there. I am looking forward to all of the hugs and late night drinking and backrubs and whatever else so much that it makes the next 22 days seem like an eternity stretching out in front of me. This next part is not intended to hurt anyone's feelings, or to negatively criticize anyone's work in particular, or anything else that could be construed as negative or hateful, they are just my personal opinions. I just have a few pet peeves that I want to get out regarding fanfics. ~Using the word sex to describe parts of the female anatomy (ie: he parted the slick folds of her sex) completely turns me off to a scene, possibly the entire fic. There are plenty of synonyms for it. ~Children in fanfic are a touchy subject. To give them a voice, the timeline has to be advanced far beyond the BDM, and even then, writing kids' voices is still tricky. Personally, I prefer our BDHs not to have gotten to a point where they have the possibility of having kids EDIT: ALL CHILDREN HAVE BLUE EYES WHEN THEY ARE BORN. ~I don't think Simon and Kaylee fuck nearly as much as some writers portray them to. Maybe it's just that I have never experienced, either in my personal relationships or in those of my friends, have I seen a couple go from silent yearning to sex 3-5 times a day. Maybe I'm just sheltered though. ~In my opinion, River was not a Reader until she went to the academy. In Objects in Space, the discussion they have is plainly about that subject, how they changed how she reacts to things, and Mal asking Simon right off if it was possible. I have also seen a story or two wherein River has powers akin to Phoenix (from Marvel comics) and I am sure that does not jive with Joss' view of the 'verse 500 years from now. None of this means that I am going to change my reading habits. I like the writers that I read, and if they are guilty of the above then it is not as much of a big deal. For new writers I try, it could determine whether I continue reading their works at all. I really just wanted to be honest and get some things off of my mind. I hope I still have a few friends left after all of this. ~Jimi

I went, I saw, I conquered! I still have some things to learn, but, I already knew that! I have three months on the provisional, but after that, I'll go for my full license! JOSSISAGOD!!

I have to go out of town for business reasons. I should be posting again in the first week in September. If things go smoothly much sooner, but when has a job ever gone smoothly for a Brown Coat? I'm looking forward to posting the rest of this current storyline, it's been fun writng it. I've also been working on Jake 2.0 fanfiction. With about 240 pages writen in the rough. Before I forget, I am looking for a good beta. ( Firefly/Serenity and Jake 2.0) So if anybody's interested... Till later. Zucht

Hey Friends~ So, I'm not sure why I sat on this fanfic as long as I did, except perhaps that I have a second part that is still not completely finished. Although this story works all on its own, I hope to have the second part available soon as well as a shiny new NC-17 Simon/Kaylee story that is coming along nicely  Until then... Aim to Misbehave! ~Kessa (YoSaffBrig)

Well, I know that nobody's reading this, but I hope to very soon post some banners for Firefly up in the Blue Sun Room. I hope that they're inspired, and you know, good. Hmmm, another one o'clock flavored post. I knew I should have eaten all that beef jerky after dinner.

Hi im james, lovin the site. Iv'e bean a fan of firefly ever since I saw Serenity. Me and a friend have recently written a couple of peices of fan fiction set in the firefly universe which we have posted on our new website ( www.freewebs.com/fireflyfanfic ) Hopfuly I will be able to write more next week if I get time. so feel free to check it out. This Pasage is from my new story 'The Perfect Sunrise' As dawn broke over the small costal town of Port Lira the only sound that could be heard was the gentle crash of the waves. Height above sea birds were circling and from where he was sitting Matt couldn’t imagine anywhere more perfect. Suddenly a loud explosion ripped thought the air. Matt felt his stomach sink as he turned around to see a large column of black smoke rising from the centre of town. From up the hill he heard shouting followed by the occasional sound of a gun being fired. Then his brother ran round the corner followed by fifteen armed men. “What did you do?” Shouted Matt as Geno drew level with him. “Run,” yelled Geno without stopping. “What the hell did you do?” Matt Repeated as he charged down the hill after him.

Hmm. Not sure I like this much. After a year of having someone, I'm back on my own again. Lots of weird things - I have vast amounts of free time now and am unsure how to fill it. Plus there's the fun of breaking the news to friends and family - though to be honest, I'd have preferred it if they had been more surprised. I'm just glad I'm on holiday at the moment, allows comfort shopping (for the record, 14 DVDs, a football, three Nintendo DS games, 12 pairs of socks and a £173,000 house). Oh yeah, I'm getting a house. Now I have to figure out how I'm going to fill it.

Well, like the title says, I've changed my mind. I found out where the ubran campus is and it doesn't seem that bad. It's a short walk from a train station but there's nothing really around the building except a Co-op gas station and a My Mac Dealer store. So, still some potential danger but the university assures that they will have measures in place so that students aren't mugged or worse. And I guess I really want to take this class. It didn't really hit me until I was priting my portfolio, all 25 doubled-spaced pages of it. I mean, why else would I put that much effort into writing that many pages during the summer? Plus I was using characters I had created with a friend from a high school Creative Writing class and it felt so great writing for them again and just generally feeling that my writing voice has grown up a bit since high school. There's just something invigorating about writing for characters that are your own and nobody else's. Now I have to wait to see if I get accepted into the class. The deadline for portfolios is August 15th so the prof might be getting more stuff and she'll have to read through those. I'll know for sure by August 30th but it's hard not to wonder whether my submission is strong enough to grab the attention of the prof or weak enough that she sees I could benefit from this class. I do know one thing: that Led Zepplin class is full now so I won't be learning anything about them this year.

Today is Saturday and so i should be sound asleep in bed but no, i am at work bored!!! i was looking at Morena Baccarin profile on IMDb and i see that she might/is going to be the new wounder woman!! That does it! "ill be in my bunk". i would never go and see something like a remake of wounder women but with her in it ill be first in line!!! anyways back to the fun of work!!! Let me tell ya, it was the most relaxed I'd been since before I first got in a car with my permit and my parents! I found it to be most enjoyable, and actually FUN!! I can't wait do do it again! Granted I just went to the local college about ten minutes away to work out, but it was great! Well, that's all for now, JOSSISAGOD!!

:crap: So, despite my best efforts, I have failed to finish the next part of Choices on the schedule I set myself. It's the in between parts that need to be filled in, and they are being stubborn. *sigh* Not that there's many left out there who are reading anymore, which is entirely my fault for taking so long with this... In the interim, I'm trying to write other stuff, including some M/I smut for the Sushi!Verse that hopefully will be along soon, but I've learned not to make promises :o(

Hey, gang... haven't really updated in quite a while..just been super busy...110 degree weather makes for a long hot day in the AC trade...nothing like having to wear gloves to work on a down roof unit 'cause it'll burn your bear skin... Working on my Buffy graphic novel Beneath You..It's coming along pretty good..gotta do some editing tho..if I draw every scene and use all the dialog, this thing'll be about 300 pages. I had to change my style a bit to adapt to this type of story..went with more streamlined clean line work, and decided to go with a black and white manga look... I've got the prolog and up till Buffy gets to Sunnydale pretty much done..also got the Spike and Buffy last scene complete..(I drew the last scene first..don't ask me why) Also working on a site with some fellow browncoats on selling prints..it's looking super professional by the way..(good work ya'll...)so keep your eye pealed fellow fans....

Just adding something new here. What makes ppl so mad and argue on the internet? I have no problems with discussions or debate. We can't all think alike or feel the same. What gets me is when someone thinks they can start talking about your personal life. Until we meet and become friends or whatever they should say nothing personal. Some b/g on me. I work in a factory in the south east corner of Tx. I am senior operator above 40 coworkers that do the same job. I am leaderman over 6 ppl. I know my job and the company hired me to do that job. I do it well and see to it that the guys below me are motivated to do their job as well. These guys are somewhat family to me and I enjoy hearing their stories and about what they like to do. In a way I view our workspace as our little Serenity. It's also kinda like I see my home and family. We are a family of 4 in a small little boat on the face of this world.Zerenity. Maybe that's why the show hit a note with me. Life isn't always pleasant but in the words of Malcolm Reynolds "Their are objects in our path and we will deal with them one at a time." Maybe not the very same words but close. I complain some but all in all life has been good to me and mine. I'm looking to a brighter future. Hoping to get more FF/Serenity and reach retirement where I can paint and travel with my wife. Z, Aug-2006, out

CaptBryan and COOK are gone to do what ever it is they do when they are gone. I'm left here with COOK's niece. We met 2 weeks ago(I'm 18 shes 18) and I think she has put me under some kind of spell. She is the most exquisite creature I have had the privilege of be near. Elegance, charm, wit,and looks...OMG! She comes to me when she needs some thing done she can't do herself or when she just needs help.(sometimes I think she can do it herself she just wants me involved some how) I stand in amazement at the very site of her when the sun highlights her and she smiles at me ,looking at me, with her eyes the color of the Caribbean, this girl, this jewel of untold wealth. The very deck on which she stands, the air that passes over her skin ,the light which she commands to cast her shadow....ALL have my envy. Oh to be that deck , the air, the light at her command...To sing her praises at the top of my lungs for the world to behold and prepare her a way to the throne...the throne in my heart... for her...only her... I am taken.

What a great morning I had! I woke up early and headed down to Kerry Town for the Farmers Market! Even though I have lived in A2 for 8 years, I have never been, primiarily because up untill recently I worked 3rd shift and would never dream of getting up a 9am to go look at tomatoes and flowers! Anyways, it was my first time there and it was awesome! Walking through the crowds of people and vendors, it reminded me strongly of Persephone. It was really nice and I had a smile on my face the whole time! I even bought some homemade bread and jam from an amish man who seemed rather put out that I was speaking directly to him. The bread and jam is great by the way, and if you're ever in A2 on a Saturday morning, I highly reccomend it! All my love, Capture

had my last day of work today. well, night really. things went pretty smoothely for a saturday. until the end. then all hell broke loose. this hell was in the form of tram faults. did you all know i operate a tram/gondola? well yeh, it kept faulting at the same time some rather foul weather was headed our way. I should have run the tram fast to get them down, but the faults made it stuck in slow. it was a bit frustrating and even slightly unnerving. right after I got the tram unloaded the storm hit. it was really pissing down. i was driving about 40 mph on the freeway cos i coulnt see well. anyhow, it was my last day and it was a bang. My last day because i'm headed back to university. im very very happy to be moving back. living with parents as not-so-much a teen anymore is overrated. however, this summer i really felt usefull and needed and loved at work. rare. my under-manager gave me a hug. it was kinda odd. she's real cool. anyhow. school awaits me and high-speed net and parentlessness. Rusco out.

Currently learning Lightwave 3D 8 in order to produce models and vfx similar to those seen in Firefly, Serenity and other sci-fi shows. It's a slow process, but I hope to one day produce something that will live on, the way Firefly always will.

I'm back, and working on a new installment of "How I Soar." I didn't think the day would come, truth be told, but I love the 'Verse that Joss made too much to have left it behind for long. So. Dragon*Con in less than three weeks - is there gonna be a meet-up? Dudes, there has to be a meet-up, yo.
Sunday, 13 August 2006 19:14:03
It's funny actually, when Firefly first aired I was like, "hey that's cool". However, I never saw another episode after that. Then my friend said I had to watch this show he had on DVd, so i watched it and well, I now own the movie and the series myself. I have no clue at to why this show was taken off, it was brilliant. Awesome cast, script and well, everything. I am a new fan, i guess it really shows, I signed up for this didn't I. Browncoats forever.

I am going to post this here, because I don't want to crowd up the threads with any more of this crap. But I think things need to be addressed. Someone is having a great bloody time creating hate and discontent. Maybe some people have multiple personnas and maybe they don't - I don't really care. I come here, because the people are mostly friendly, intelligent people. I would like to hope that those people are real, but if they aren't - oh well - that's life. I am not really sure what is going on here - but one thing is sure - all of this and I mean all of this is fabricated for someone's amusement. The sad part about this is that people are getting hurt - people that have done nothing other than post and pm each other and basically have an enjoyable time. Things get heated and thats understandable - but this is complete and utter crap. All of it. Take sides if you want too - all you are doing is fanning the fire and giving the architech of all this what they wanted - attention. But when taking those sides, be sure you have the facts - all of them - or stay out of it. This is and can be a shiny place. FMF out

I just got back from my church youth group camp out. It was pretty awesome- tubing, go-karting, capture the flag, meeting some cool new people. When I got home I found out that my family had bought me some new clothes and Converses!! That's the good news. The bad news is that a dog I was recently petsitting died. I feel terrible... his family is really upset about his death, and I feel their pain. I loved that dog! I also have 2 assignments due tomorrow, and I'm exhausted.

Maybe it's a chocolate deficiency, but my 'Verse ain't too shiny today. I have a fic to finish, but it feels clunky. I'm worried about characterization, and even more worried about the plot. It used to be fun, and suddenly, it feels like work. A few lovely souls are reviewing, but I sometimes feel that I'm putting my babies out the airlock into a void. I try and write things that feel true to the Jossverse, that have an arc similar to the episodes, and that move things on for the people who inhabit the place. But I just feel a bit sad and blue today. It might be the whole MPD troll thing - that shook me, because I've met some nice folks here, and it's strange to think someone is so twisted they need to tear others down like that.

Hey there! I was just leaving this message for all those who have been reading my series, Runaway. Unfortunately I have alot going on at the moment, I have a few workshops, meetings at work and I am moving, plus school is starting back up next week( I am taking WAY too many units, but I need to get these classes out of the way so I can graduate within a reasonable time!). I do have alot written but I will not be able to post because of time constraints and my hectic scheduele. I just love this site and have made some really good friends here, so I will definitely miss visiting it as often as I have! I should be back within a few weeks and I hope to pop in whenever I can! Thanks to all the readers who have commented and gave such great feedback about my stories, I appreciate each and every one of them! You all have fun!

I've been to some other chat sites and i have to say that this one is by far the most friendly. Everyone here has been really nice and welcoming. I want to thank all of you. It's nice to be somewhere, where people are not looked down upon because they like sci-fi. Once again thank you all.

I just returned from walking around an amusement park in Indiana with my Browncoat bag. It just felt good to get out and make people wonder what the heck I was carrying. So that made me really happy. I'm hoping when we go back in about two weeks, that the bag will serve me again. I've been watching and rewatching the series. I think that I'm so hooked over again. Does that happen? Do you fall in love again? I hope so because I'm ready to fall in love. Well I just wanted to say hi!

So. New House. My idea? All digital. This means the dumping of my accumulated piles of VHS tapes. Given that I previously adhered to the traditional labelling system for tapes (either leaving them blank or with an abbreviation so cryptic it would take a dozen Enigma machines to work it out), this means I have to go through them all (roughly 150) to see if there is anything I want to keep. Here's what I've found so far: Many many episodes of TV blooper shows Three episodes of A Bit of Fry & Laurie that I taped, forgot about, then realised I was missing and spent large amounts of time online trying to find them. My sister on Trisha (as an audience member, not a guest, though it is still shaming) Home videos of me in various stages of annoyingness. The entire evening of Christmas Day 1991 on BBC1 South Park - Not Without My Anus - one of no less than four unsuccessful attempts by us to see the end of the episode that revealed who Eric Cartman's father was. Episodes of Friends, Due South, Father Ted, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Jonathan Creek, Mr Bean, Murder Most Horrid, Jack Dee, Buffy, Angel . There are also episodes of things on after the thing I wanted recorded that have now fallen into the dustbin of history. Does anyone remember Slap! Love, Lies & Lipstick? Didn't think so. The stuff I still want, I'll transfer onto my computer. The rest is to be thrown away, wavy lines where all is now 0s and 1s. Nowadays you're either something or nothing, on or off, charged or uncharged. It's odd but I like it that way.
Monday, 14 August 2006 22:30:26
Well, im back after a week of vacation. Spent much of that week sitting in a moat outside the town of Visby piss drunk and singing songs (amongst them a couple of special ones about some Big Damn Heroes, espically a certain theme and also a little song about the hero of canton). Also, I quit smoking as soon as I came home (Almost 18 hours ago now) and im already climbing the walls and screaming at my roomies (hopefully its just the drawback and not one of those pesky possessions). Anyway, life feels a little bit suckier then usual now, got the post-vacation blues and ontop of the no more smoking thing I also learned today that my ex-girlfriends mother died (just dont get why everyone Ive ever met have to go and die), my brother is getting on my nerves with his nagging (I share the apartment with him and a girl who never ever cleans or takes out the trash,) and im not sure how im going to afford rent, food or bills for the next year or how the hell im going to fix my grades (stupid university). And by the way, still singel, and I still hate it... I need love =/

Will someone please write a romance-themed fanfic that isn't porn? Or an attempt to hook everyone up so they can put sex in the story? It's getting kind of old, and there are probably underage browncoats on this site who really don't need to be exposed to it.

 Normally at work the kids are trying to beat each other :bash: Cussing each other and my staff :censored: or just plan trying to end their marry little life so they can see the fuzzy wazzies in lala land :hanged: I asked them if they watched Serenity. Most of them have but didn't understand it all that much. I told them that I have the TV show on disk at home if they want to watch it. Now on the weekends we are going to watch Firefly, than after that we will watch over again Serenity. I have to say that they loved it and wounder "why in the hell did they take it off the air." This last weekend was great I did my job with the kids and to our beloved Joss. I'm a big damn fan.
Tuesday, 15 August 2006 10:24:23
So...I watched Firefly:Serenity again yesterday. And today I got a copy of 'My Bodyguard' with a very young (but still just about legal) Adam Baldwin in it. I have remembered why I fell for this show, and why I wanted to continue the adventures of the crew. And I also know exactly what Tyler Cobb is like. I am now going to take some time off the boards to finish the fic, and post it up. My machine at home is just too slow to load and keep up with folks any more. I can (and will) respond to pm's - thanks hisgoodgirl, Mal4Prez and ArtemisPrime for encouragement and good words. Thanks also to the Forsaken and the Imponderables - I will return, possibly with broadband(!) in the near future. But meanwhile, I have a gang of folks about to get themselves into a whole mess of trouble somewhere out near Deadwood. I lost my sense of fun. The fic was disappearing up it's own pi gu with serious musings upon life. So, I think it's time to blow some go se up. It's time for a Big Damn Adventure... This is what I do, people. Welcome to MY version of the Jossverse.

Still not dead. I've been gone way too long though. Seven weeks without a computer does things to the mind. Good to be back though.

Ah, another online diary for all the world to ignore... When I joined the military back in '88, I didn't look anywhere near as good as I do now and I had no idea that it would be so far from the comraderie I sought with everything within my heart. I've been to half of this planet and even though people are the same, no one can seem to get along. Into cyberspace... This place where people struggle to be the best they can without the weight of others' evaluations of them hanging over their heads like anoth kind of loaded pistol... Keep moving. That's the best way to keep from being pigeon-holed. It would be great if this kind of live was available. The closest I can get is to beg a friend in Scotland to let me sail around the world with him next year. I get seasick something awful, but if I don't deal with this wanderlust soon, I'm going to die where I stand. What would you do??? After 8 years in the Mil, I've got nothing to show except that I know the deceit, how little the "innocents" can control to keep themselves safe and this world is currently too small for those in it who keep throwing stones. I'm sick of being pelted and I want to do something different. Breathing is still possible, so if that's all we need to consider this place "living", we're alright for now. Live the fantasy. Some day it might not be so boring. Love to all, Kimmael

Recycling is ok for our earth that is. As I see it we could all do the right thing and recycle. But there are those items that need not recycle... Like female hygiene products that involves a cotton cylinder for when the female has her monthly visitor by the name of Aunt Flow. The kids I work with have thier moments of DUR DA DUR. While some were just born that way. This girl doing her monthly thing put the used one in the trash like you do when your done with one. Another girl came in the bathroom and seen it, grabed it out of the trash and... Well she recycled the gorram thing. Then wanted one of the RN's to pull The ruttin thing out for her.... Hold on... I just vomited alittle in my mouth... Just don't ask me what finger painting is were I work. Trust me, you don't want to know.

I had, had a mole on my chest biopsied a about a month ago, and, two weeks ago had the rest of it 'moved. I just got the five stitches out today. Man, DID THAT HURT! Some of them had become buried in the healing cut, and had to be dug out! I was LOVING that! anyway, the biopsy came back clean, so, no more pre-cancerous mole! No need for any responses, I'm just venting, JOSSISAGOD!!

Things are getting so extreme now that its almost funny, except that funny things dont make me feel like throwing myself head first into the first fight that comes strolling along. Yet another person I know is dying, this time its a friend of mine who has brain cancer. The doctors thought it was treatable but I heard today from my brother that her operation didnt work and she has a couple of months at the most.

I have come to the conclusion that i am indeed a sci-fi fan. This is a big break through for me. Since I was about 10 years old I had been a huge fan of the horror genre. Just to clear things up, I still love my horror, however lately i have been finding myself wanting some spaceship action. About two, maybe three, weeks ago a friend of mine made me watch Zathura, not a bad movie, not great, but enough to get me wanting more. Next another friend lent me Firefly, and we can all see where that led me to. Since then i have been doing nothing but watching all these fun sci fi shows and movies. I still love my Evil Dead trilogy, and now I love my Firefly & Serenity.

Everthing ends... unless you want it to. Summer is almost gone, as are many of my friends, and anything that temporarily makes me content. Anything that makes me happy these days can be compared to a drug, bringing extreme joy/hyperness and then lassitude. Like the ultimate hangover. Lately I feel stupid and stuck and I don't know how to fix things. I'm considering just starting afresh, but I don't know how and what I could change. Right now I just feel cold and confused, and I'm not going to pretend I'm okay anymore.

I went to play Bingo tonight (the prize is $1000 a game) since I needed to get away from the kids. I brought my Ipod with me to pass the time between numbers quicker so I let it shuffle all the songs. While I was playing I realized that whenever a Serenity soundtrack song came on I got the numbers I really needed. It was the weirdest thing. Needless to say I lost. it didnt dawn on me to play just the soundtrack until Bingo was over. What can I say, I'm slow. Maybe she'll bring me good luck again next time. Maybe if I win instead of shouting "BINGO!" , I'll shout "SERENITY!" instead. hehe.. i can just imagine the looks I'll get.

Sorry NV - Should have said. Mom is doing well surgery wise. She looks great and is up and around. Unfortunately there was a complication that has yet been identified. She can not use her left arm at all and her right arm, will it has mobility has no strength. She is seeing lots of doctors and has been prescribed some physical therapy. The Doctors and Physio's are all stymied as there has been no stroke or injurty that can be identified. So good wishes for the FMFMOM :)

So, my birthday's coming up in a few days, and the ONE thing I want is, the Buffy: Chosen Collection. Which is on Amazon.com is $199.98. I guess our coin situation is tighter than usual on acount of the new counter tops we just got. So, I've either got to pick ONE season (Good luck with THAT!), or pick something else. (I tried this, by picking Dark Angel season one and two, and got a groan from my father!) Some back story for this, my younger brother got a $600 drum set for his birthday (he paid for half, which I'd be glad to do for my birthday if I had a paying job.) I just find it interesting that my parents are willing to spend $300 for an annoying drum set, and not a third of what that cost, for a television series that their number 2 enjoys. I love my family very much, and would be happy to go without prezzies this year, it just erks me that, they spend the money on number 3's birthday and they suddenly don't have the money for a RELATIVLY speaking cheaper gift for my birthday. oh, well, the world doesn't revolve around ME! If your smart you'll let this blog die.

What a Firefly-fan-tastic day it has been. I heard the companion was out and starting calling over the place to find it. All the major book chains didnt have it so I called some small comic store and they had just one. So I rushed over and bought it. It's soooo pretty!! I also bought Firefly trading cards there and guess what I find ??? An Autograph card!! It's only Christina Hendricks but hey I found one, so its cool. I have most of the cards except the Autograph cards and "Firefly Forever" cards which I only have one of each. Then if the day could'nt get any better, I walk next door to the Waldenbooks and find the Serenity Novel I've been looking forever for. All in all its been a great day and I am now going to curl up in my recliner and slowly enjoy each page of my new Companion. I'm on a Firefly high right now!

I got it. I got the soundtrack to a fan documentary. I'm a geek. It makes my heart happy. (Both the music and my geekness.)

First viewing of the series - The first time i watched the series i absolutely loved it. For the first time in ages i GOT a tv show straight away. It tapped into the after a big war, superpowers, adventure thing that lots of people try to make work. This just had something different though.

I mentioned before that I created a cafe press shop for my younger brother's artwork, and now I have one for my older sister's work as well:

I didn't really get turned on to firefly/serenity until much much later. I watched a bit of the movie on tv when it came out. I thought the movie was phenominal. As I went to by it on dvd, I made the realization that it was based off of a sci-fi mini-series. I went to amazon.com and ordered the pair in a package deal and have been hooked ever since. Once you're in Serenity, you can never really leave.

What is it with people they just feel they can do what they want with no regard to other human life or feelings? People who: hurt people? crush hopes and dreams? seek other people who hurt? feel all is their fault? have done all they can? never give? can never forgive? can't give enough? want to give? can’t do enough don’t do more won’t do more can’t forgive themselves can't stop forgiving? can't stop? Guess it goes with the old saying, "It's what Makes the World ‘Round"

I have started a 1000 crane drive for QUIETSERENITY's mother. In Japanese legend, when someone folds 1000 paper cranes, a miracle happens. I am going to be that person. So far, at this posting, I have three. 997 to go.

Hi! I just signed up today! Love the show and the movie!

Well, after the 9 month wait, my Serenity Ornament arrived yesterday!!! It looks pretty good, except for the fake plastic 'Blue' engine glow. The workmanship on the starboard engine is a little suspect, but other than that I really like it. I just wish it was at least twice as big! Don't throw away the box the pictures on it are worth the price!

I'm back!!! Yay for school and 24/7 high speed internet. Teehee. Yay for the end of a long and...interesting summer. Needless to say, i've done well in spreading the signal. One of my co-workers is now a browncoat. Hooray! I'm happy. I'm so glad to be back :D

i havnt posted in forever but i doubt anyone even read my post about my pilot!anyways i have turned said pilot into comic so its taking a little longer cause im drawing and writing it pretty much from and idea in my head that was only turned into a partial redone and then redone and then put away pilot. no worries i will have a status report on the comic whenever i decide to get my little procastinating(i think i spelled that right?) self around to finally actually doing it!

Here it is, 4am and I should be in bed. I got in at about 2:30 am from Pennsic and had a lovely time even if my cell phone is still in Pennsylvania at the Eat'n Park (they're gonna mail it back to me.) For those who are confused, the Pennsic War is an annual Society for Creative Anachronisms (SCA) event. The SCA is a kind of medieval appreciation society. Pennsic is the annual war for the 'debatable lands'. While there is in fact fighting happening (all sorts of melee weaponry as well as cannons and archery) there is also classes in a large variety of subjects all relating to medieval societies in some way, from various social inpacts from the Plague, to sign language for SCA events, to how to make glass beads and all points in between. There is also...shopping. You can buy all sorts of goodies. Weaponry (swords, lances, bows, knives etc), armour, clothing, fabrics, books of medieval subjects, jewlery, t-shirts, pattern books, stuffed animals (including Plage Rats!) and comic books poking fun at the SCA. While I'm not an SCA member, most of my friends are, and I was finally talked into going to Pennsic about four years ago and had a great time--inspite of the rain (folks were mud-surfing in the roads that year) and inspite of the heat (high 90's and the same in humidity) and having to use porta-potties (aka: people boxes or porta-thrones). The event is just awesome to see. Over 11,000 folks this year, many staying in peroid canvas tents and having fun making their encampments into "home" for two weeks a year. Take a look at some from last year:

So I have met this guy. Very sweet, intelligent. Makes me laugh so much my stomach hurts AND he is as fanatical about Firefly as I am. Course he is younger by a great deal and lives several states away. :( Still I really enjoy talking to him. We have been talking so much that I really haven't had time to stop in here! #1 starts his first college class today. #2 was worried that he would have no friends with his best friend Borrowed boy gone - I am happy to report that this is not the case. He still misses Borrowed boy and they talk nightly (thank god for family cell plans!) but he has found that there are other people at school that he can hang with. Mom is still unable to use her left arm. I am keeping the faith that all will be well.

My life has been made better since I discovered Firefly. That's all I have to say...for now.

Blargh. I just found out that my brother-in-law got to meet Nathan while at the fringe festival in the Captain's hometown. He got an autograph and everything. :pissed: Funny enough, Nathan was the beer tent when my brother-in-law saw him. Yup, Nathan's truly a Canadian boy. Maybe I should trek up to Edmonton for next year's Fringe. Nathan could be back, right?

Well now. I have never before been inspired to write a Blog entry until this moment. My wife and I finally recieved our copy of Done The Impossible, the documentary detailing the rise, fall, and rebirth of firefly. And 30 minutes into the disc....there we were!!! Janna and I had gone to Dragon Con in 2005 seeking autographs for my DVD box set. While there we signed up for a slot to sit for the documentary. We luckly made it in. I asked my interviewer what I could say to make the final cut into the disc and he said "just say whatever you feel the most strongly about. And keep in mind many many people have sat before you so saying something unique would also be helpful" Hmm....unique? Ok...lets see. Hmmmm...... I am a civil engineer by education. I also have a strong interest in astronomy and space exploration. So once the camera rolled I expounded all about my excitement to see a sci-fi show use modern projectile weapon tech in a near future setting. I also spoke about controlled fusion reactions and how this tech is not far from us in the 21st century and how plausible it is to observe Serenity's full burn as a controlled fusion reaction. I also blathered on about astronomy and the excitement I felt when I saw how real the 'verse could be given our current understandings of the star systems around us in our corner of this galactic spiral arm. I figured other people didn't take "The science angle" so I tried that. They didn't use any of it. But what they did take was a little bit of my comments regarding my self-imposed agenda to become a missionary for the program. They also used Janna's comment that in x-mas 2004 we gave out several firefly disc sets. I'm just so happy and proud that they felt that Janna and I added value to their work. The guys that interviewed us were absoutely awsome and I wish I could do it again. So for those of you with a copy of Done the Impossible, Look for Pete and Janna. I'm wearing my blue sun shirt and Janna is in a pink top. They spelled her name with 1 N and she was mildly annoyed at that, but they got her name spelled right in the credits. My only regret was that the staff at Done the Impossible sent me an e-mail asking what, if any, fireflyfans.net handle I had and I completely forgot to reply. So instead of being listed as "thiefjehat" were just listed as "browncoats". Ah well. It's all good!!

Wow -- it had been over a month since I posted a chapter of my fanfic. I can't believe it. I'm so sorry, everyone! I have been trying, and for a while it was going well, but... 1 - A few days after my last log entry, I got into a car accidnet. Pretty crazy. Our car is dead. It was struck on the passenger side (I was making a left turn when I shouldn't have), and it fell over onto the driver's side. Boom -- and suddenly I was on the ground covered in glass with the wheel smoking and strange car fluids spewing out. I wasn't hurt, though my sister was a little banged up (she's okay now, thank the stars -- though she has a few scars). 2 - After the afrementioned car accident, I just -- I don't know. I weirded out for a while. I was driving. I felt so bad about my sister. I felt so weird because I still needed to drive everywhere, getting things for her, doing favors for my mom, etc. I felt so guilty. I mean... geez. I think I tried for ten hours, no joke. I tried to force myself to write, but I just couldn't. 3 - also, with the accident brough all this strang contemplation about my Aunt's recent death (she died May 20th -- coincidence that I didn't post any fanfic chapters in May? Nope. between that and school ending, and going home to my house with my parents offically divorced... fun, fun). My conclusion, death makes more sense right after it happens. I watched her die, watched her gasp... it was horrible, but it made sense. For some reason, I keep expecting her to be back now, but she isn't. It is so weird. 4 - flash forward to a week later, I moved out of my parent's home into my first apartment. Moving craziness! ah! 5 - flash forward another week, I finally got internet in my apartment. I also write for virtual firefly, and I had a deadline for them, so I focused on that. I did a little with ch 18, but... blah. 6 - Flash forward another week. I have to go back to my mom's house and go to traffic court. I was planning on coming up tuesday (tomrrow), but my best friend is finally back from California (his dad lives there), and he asked me to come saturday so that we could hang. So, I did. And here I am. With all this, I have really forgotten all about "Over the Hills..." It's strange. I can work on other things, but right now when I re-read "Hills.." to get back into the groove, all I can see is the mistakes I've made, and I keep feeling like I have myself in a corner I can't write my way out of. Fun. But, it is getting better. And so am I. I'm not sure how much writing I will get done this week, being home and focusing on hanging with family/friends, but I am going to try. At the time of the accidnet, eighteen was half finished already. So, maybe it won't be as hard as I think. Sorry for the delay, and the semi-emo rant. I'm feeling truthsome. Peace, Katie

Have resisted the need to parade my lonesomeness before y'all (all y'all in proper Southern) but my www.Match.com subscription is expiring in a few more days, so figured I might as well give a shout-out here. My handle of 'firefly62k64' hasn't yielded up nary a one like-minded response from any female Browncoats on Match.com, if they're their, but then if they are, could be LOTS of other reasons they ain't bitin'... my choice of religion bein' one. Anyway, if there's any curious/intersted lady BCs out there, you can look me up on www.match.com from my handle, which I thought was darn clever actually, or by searching by area and age. I'm in the Chino, CA area, 43, white male, etc. etc. etc. Tryin' to Keep Flyin' and Stay Shiny. -- Jonathan M.A. Ghaffar - Yer FF/BDM MP3 Ringtone Smuggler. The good folks at The Signal invited us to be part of their live podcast at Dragon*Con, so how could we say no? I reckon I'll play for people waiting in line for the panels like I did last year, and we'll play wherever else we get a chance--HOWEVER . . . We don't have an actual concert scheduled this year. So if anyone out there has any ideas, let me know.

Probably should have posted this yesterday... I will not be near a computer this week during the day as I normally am. I will be checking here in the evenings, but I can't stay on long...the classes start early and run late. As notification is still a bit sketchy, I know I am going to miss a LOT of stuff! :pissed: If y'all want to contact me directly, please email me at tristan71@cableone.net I would not be averse to getting emails letting me know what's going on...sort of a digest of the happenings in the 'Verse. I'll miss you all while I am gone, and can't wait to get back! Stay shiny!

I think I might be falling in love, im not totally sure, but there is this girl. And ive kinda felt a interest from her for a while and lately ive been starting to get interested in her aswell. Today when we watched Silent Hill together I held her hand and it was just about the most exciting rush ive feelt for months. Basicly I feel great at the moment. Only one problem. Shes got a boyfriend ofcourse and although they are having some tough times at the moment I somehow doubt they will break up any time soon :disappointed: Oh well, I would rather be in love with a girl I cannot have then not to love at all, because love makes me feel truly alive.
Tuesday, 22 August 2006 10:35:06
So...there should be a new chapter up in the next day or so, and so on, until CCM is finished. But then there will be a short break, since I'm going to finish drafting the next thing before I start posting it, having learnt my lesson this time out. I want to go back to some things I started in 'Zen'. I'm not done with the whole Mal/Inara mess. So that will probably be next. And I'm writing something lighter, too. I need some laughs. RL has intruded - I'm fine, but several friends are going through crap (divorce, depression...delovely, the lot of it) and husband is going away on work for best part of a month. On the plus side, I have a new car, one that does not try to kill me on the bends. Not sure if anyone is reading this, with the site being weird an' all, but keep flying, 'Coats, and I'll be back with you soon.
Tuesday, 22 August 2006 10:40:37
I'v give it a new look and I'm working on another story. I Can't tell you if its firefly fanfic or something to do with "The last humans". I could write something compleatly different, not even I know what I'll write untill its writen.

Well, I FINALLY got an E-mail back from the girl who I was a jackass to and tried to fix it afterwards. She's more formal than she used to be, seems that way with every girl I have an E-mail address for. It's like, one day we're all calm and friendly then the next, their E-tones change and it feels like they're all hiding something from me. Oh, well, that's life I guess, JOSSISAGOD!!
Tuesday, 22 August 2006 15:25:05
On top of being sick all weekend with the flu, I'm supposed to be working with the Children's Programming Chair for the World Science Fiction Convention (aka WorldCon) in Anaheim beginning tomorrow. Ugh. So, I'll be away until next week. If anyone is attending WorldCon, come introduce yourself! I'm a slave during the day in the El Capitan A/B ballroom at the Hilton. Ask for Tammy.

I won't mention names, but sometimes I run into people who make no sense at all. So I ask myself, why are these people complete idiots? I've had a bad day at work today with working with idiots. I don't like to cause trouble, but I will. I feel that I am underappreciated and that some people are getting away with murder. Is that right? No! So sorry to sound so down and everything, but my God, put your brain on and use it. I don't leave my brain at home when I come to work!
Tuesday, 22 August 2006 17:32:34
This is NOT mine - it was just so cool I wanted to put it somewhere: "I’m so into Firefly, my butt glows in the dark" Apologies to the person who penned it originally, I can't remember where I got it so I'm giving you the credit...that I can give you.
Tuesday, 22 August 2006 18:05:09

How about vicious killer Raccoons in your backyard? We're talkin' REAL here, not Hollywood! And yes, I did see S.O.A.P. and really enjoyed it. Nobody says M-F'ing better than ol" Samuel L. Jackson! Check out THIS story from Washington state. ------------------------------------------ Tuesday, August 22, 2006 OLYMPIA, Washington - A fierce group of raccoons has killed 10 cats, attacked a small dog and bitten at least one pet owner who had to get rabies shots, residents of Olympia say. Some have taken to carrying pepper spray to ward off the masked marauders and the woman who was bitten now carries an iron pipe when she goes outside at night. "It's a new breed," said Tamara Keeton, who with Kari Hall started a raccoon watch after an emotional neighborhood meeting drew 40 people. "They're urban raccoons, and they're not afraid." Tony Benjamins, whose family lost two cats, said he got a big dog - a German Shepherd-Rottweiler mix - to keep the raccoons away. One goal of the patrol is to get residents to stop feeding raccoons and to keep pets and pet food indoors. Lisann Rolle said she began carrying an iron pipe when she goes outside at night after being bitten by raccoons when she tried to pull three of them off her cat Lucy. She obtained rabies shots afterward as a precaution. "I was watching her like a hawk, but she snuck out," Rolle said. "Then I heard this hideous sound - a coyote-type high pitch ... It was vicious. They were focused on ripping her apart." The attacks have been especially shocking because raccoons came within five feet (1 1/2 meters) of cats without any problem in previous years, Benjamins said. "We used to love the raccoons. They'd have their babies this time of year, and they were so cute. Even though we lived in the city, it was neat to have wildlife around," he said, "but this year, things changed. They went nuts." In one case five raccoons tried to carry off a small dog, which managed to survive. The attacks, all within a three-block area near the Garfield Nature Trail in Olympia, are highly unusual, said Sean O. Carrell, a problem wildlife coordinator with the state Department of Fish and Wildlife, adding that trappers may be summoned from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to remove problem animals. "I've never heard a report of 10 cats being killed. It's something were going to have to monitor," Carrell said. Meanwhile, residents have hired Tom Brown, a nuisance wildlife control operator from Rochester, Washington, to set traps, but in six weeks he has caught only one raccoon. He and Carrell said raccoons teach their young - and each other - to avoid traps. Brown said he had seen packs of raccoons this big but none so into killing. "They are in command up there," he said.

Hey all! So Leiasky has nagged me into going to Flanvention in December....which I should thank her for doing, because I'm super excited. Who else is going? Hope to see lots of you all there, Kaynara PS: For those who haven't gone completely over to the crazy place yet, Flanvention is the Firefly Convention (second annual) held in LA in Dec.

Chapter seven is complete at last. We're back offworld, hurling through the mighty black like we were always meant to do. I think the secretive political background dealing with the Operative, the Alliance, the Resistance, and Ray Foster has sufficiently seeped through the cracks to the surface so that pieces are going to start falling into place (and yes, I'm still planning to reveal Inara's secret! All in good time.) I've begun the first chapter of Episode 8. I'm not sure of a title yet, but I'm toying with the idea of 'Healing'. It would be an appropriate one, methinks. Anyway, a shower sounds fantastic, so I'll talk to you ruttin' Browncoats later...

I don't normally blog my daily stuff...just because I don't. This Monday the 28th, my 5 year old will enter Kindergarten. I am starting to get a little freaked out. He's sooo big. It's too fast. It's too soon. Just the other day, I turned to my husband and asked "Do you remember when I had my period last?" and now he's going to elementary school. I'm not hyper protective mother. Really, I'm not. But the thought of him going to Kindergarten is making me feel kind of sick to my stomach. Please tell me it is going to get better. Monday I'm going to be a Mess.

My Padawan has joined FFF!! I'm rather excited about this development. She's one of my summer recruits. I gave her the box set for an early birthday present. She is, naturally, a fan. Hopefully she'll get a regular internet connection soonly so she can spend more time with us. So welcome AgentTook to fireflyfans.net.

Well it's about 9 or 10 days before D*con and as usual I am working on something at the last minute. I had planned to have this done a couple weeks ago but you know how that is. Good and sweet buddah the amount of tape!!!

WOW! It has been really hectic trying to get a shindig going! I never knew it would be so hard or confusing saying "hey, let's all meet at this time at this place". But man, people really take it out of you over such little stuff! I would hate to be organizing an actual Browncoat affair, I will deffintly leave that up to the professionals! Anyways, through all the perils (and hate mail), I finally have a working shindig going on in my lovely city of Ann Arbor. I have 12 confirmed and 6 maybe's, so it looks like we will have a nice healthy turn out! I am really looking forward to meeting everyone, and I hope people have a great time! Capture

Okay so I'm still convinced that some people are complete idiots. It was proven to me today, but I'm trying to get over that fact. I live in the middle of nowhere in Indiana and I know there are others here that love firefly as much as I do. The problem is, where are they? Sometimes I feel alone because I really only have my husband who loves firefly to talk to. Okay so maybe that isn't bad, but sometimes I want to hear others ideas. It would be nice to meet others in my area who love firefly too. I was just thinking outloud I guess. I'm glad that everyone is here for me to ramble on to. Have a good day.

Oh I talk for hours about how glorious my trip to Hawaii was. I'm just so tired though. Couldn't sleep on the plane and we had to wait on the tarmac at OHare for an hour while the lightning kept all the crews off the ground so when I got home I was so exhausted I nearly couldn't stand. I slept from 8 am until 3:45 and still feel exhausted. I miss Hawaii. -coconut-, squeeeee... edit/update: For those of you who asked, I was on Oahu in the Waikiki beach area. there was -mad- construction going on and yet I didn't care because there were designer shops and beautiful beaches and great food and gorgeous men. None of whom paid attention to me. Wouldn't have helped anyhow. I was being followed by an old japanese woman (my grandmother) and she wouldn't have taken kindly to my being flirted with...next time i vacation with girlfriends.

Hey, gang, Just to let any one interested know.. my "Buffy" book is 16 pages done...right now I'm at the scene where Spike shows up at Buffy's house...it's looking pretty good. (it looks even better when it's printed out at 60%..must be the old time comic artist in me..my stuff actually looks better on cheap paper..go figure.) My web store is looking terrific...we look to have it open some time in sept... Now something different..judging by some pm I've been getting it appears some browncoats don't much care to see any more Buffy or Angel stuff on this site from me... I just draw what I feel like..some 200 plus pieces from me, and the overwhealming majority of it Firefly related, I felt I needed to keep my interest up....Hence the Buffy / Angel stuff lately.. So I leave it up to y'all..I've asked before and so ..yea or nay on the Non firefly Jos stuff...(or if someone knows of a site that excepts Buffy Angel fan art of my type)...it's all up to you guys

Hey all I just got back from Unity, thus bringing to a close a four month career with Canadian Pacific Railway. I spend my last day picking up scrap, driving a single spike and spotting two extra miles of angle bars past the work limits with a old guy who fried his brains with drugs and alcohol thirty years ago (I have no respect for folks like that). Needless to say, not exactly what I had in mind, but I'm back and I'm done. I just have one more week to go before school starts, and it'll be just as busy. Tomorrow, I'm going to the uni to check up on a few things before a triple feature of BEERFEST, LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE and THE PROPOSITION. Saturday, I have to drive three hours to Shiloh to pick up my brother at the base (to which I'm actually looking forward to), and then on Sunday come home spend the whole week working at the farm, helping out with harvest and paying off a debt to my folks while getting a little extra spending money for my birthday on Spet 2nd, where I'll be turning 21. I will officially be old enough to do whatever the hell I want. But all I want to do is just have a guys night out with some buddies of mine. It's not much, so I'm hoping I'll be able to accomplish that. As for tonight, I'll be reading u[ on some fanfics, and actually start working on YCGHA (yes, I know I've been saying it for so long, but I'm determined to actually get a new chapter posted). Peace

On Labour Day weekend the biggest Sci Fi fan expo in Canada will be held here in TO. Morena Baccarin is scheduled as a guest. The possibility exists (vague though it might be) that I may get to go with my oldest brother and his friend, who has press creds.

So Chapter 3 is up. Can't wait to see what people think of it. I alos managed to type up the first draft of the following chapter. How, I don't know, but I'm sure my muse is worn out by now. Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on how you look at it, she gets to take a break for awhile, becasue I've got to work 12-hour shifts all week next week, starting on Sunday. But I get Friday off, which is good, because then it'll be time for DragonCon! Yea! And, my girlfriend is coming down to go with me. Double Yea! Anyway, I look forward to seeing some of you there!

Really into that girl I talked about earlier in my posts. And a lot of things have fixed themselves. First, she broke up with her boyfriend a little while ago. Second she definetly likes me. Everything seems perfect except that she didnt count on meeting anyone so short after her last boyfriend and actually wanted to be single for a while. She might change our mind and we live happily after ever, but more likely nothing is going to happen (well, beyond what has already). Damn, really wanted a girlfriend. :disappointed: But atleast I get to feel alive for a while

I got my ornament today and she is mighty shiny! Of course I've been flying her around a bit but she is otherwise safe and sound. Her arrival has turned this crappy wet day into gold!

Okay, so at this point I've been giving some thought to why it is I wrote the three fanfics I've posted to this site. I discovered Firefly this summer, and of course got really into it. Like most browncoats I'm sure, I always had what I figured were brilliant ideas for new episodes. Writing fan fiction, however, seemed a new level of obsession I wasn't quite ready to jump in to . Still, "Honor" nagged at me. Pure fluff, I figured, it'll be fun to write and then I'll be done. Cathartic, if you will. And people liked it! a few hours after I posted it, I got some nice comments. I was surprised when more people wrote in to say they liked it. I'm a published writer - nonfiction articles in alternative newspapers, mostly about politics. No-one ever sent me as much as a damn email about stuff in papers with 35,000 readers. So I wrote a second piece, "Song of Shepherd." I waited for the acclaim to come pouring in. Not so much. The odd dog barked. That's not entirely true; several people left supportive comments, encouraging me to write more. But it took a lot longer for folks to respond. So I did, "Home." But I find myself waiting in anticipation for someone to acknowlege that I had done good again. Poking around the site, I find other people begging for comments at the end of thier pieces. I don't like to think the reason that I am writing is because I want to be praised, but rather because it's fun to write...

I'm looking forward to getting carded when I go for dinner later in the day! Well, I really don't have that much else to say, so, I'll sign off now. JOSSISAGOD!!! By the way, I'm writing this blog at 12:09AM so no one will write in it yet.

Recieved two fun packages in the mail this morning (actually as I type this in the whitching hour technically it was yesterday morning) The first from Things From Another World contained my Serenity ornament. Nice. BUt just as spectacularly I also recieved my Mal Final Battle action figure from poplollies.com . Can't wait to bust it open and get all final battle-y. A shame they didn't get around to making an Operative figure though; it'll make the battle a tad one sided. Still looking for the Jayne Mercenary to complete the set. I must say I got great service from TFAW (as usual) and from Poplollies. They tossed in a big handfull of freebie things - some postcards and the like also some joss paper. So now I have money to burn come Chinese new year. Untill then it's sitting under the ornament to make a better display in the Serenifly Shrine. I would certainly order from them again. Then a whirlwind journey out to the 'burbs to watch the Chicago Fire (Major League Soccer) beat the Collorado Rapids (of the same league) 1-0. There may be hope for this season yet. Night all. Don't let the spacebugs bite.

Joss wanted to see a goofier side of Mal, and sweeter side of Jayne, if the series had continued. I like to think I am continuing that vision, in my own not-so-humble way. I have a few folks waiting for angst to crop up in my fics - I don't do hurt/comfort or bigepic angst. I think watching two people interact on a human level is far more affecting. This isn't to say that I'm not going to blow s**t up if the script calls for it, of course. I got absolutely mugged by one pairing that I never intended to write, but it just crept up on me, the more I rewatched or re-read. So I'm just going to continue on my own goofy little way. Of course, this means I'm in deep crap when the series returns - I'm going to be yelling at the screen, when it doesn't go 'right'. Unless Joss offers me a job. I would love to write the next Serenity novel - hell, I'll fight for it. Got my own sword and everything.

Inara (81%) Wow...I would have never thought...I always thought I was more like Kaylee...maybe I'll have to start thinking about life in whole differnt way now... Love, Capture

I had some training sprung on me Friday afternoon, so I will not be around the chat, forums, or blue sun room at all this week unless I manage to steal away some time at home. It sucks because it is the week leading up to D*C (3 fuckin days). I will still try to have chapter 10 of my story up by Thursday, though the naked beach epilogue may have to wait. ~Jimi

After a mind-numbing week away from work for class (and an internet connection!), I have returned to both work and the 'Verse. I've checked in when I can, but I missed the daily interactions. 'S good to be home!

I have finally found my nitches in life. Currently, I am the Star Wars master of my little town in Indiana. If anyone has a Star War question they call me. It's like I'm a walking encyclopedia of all things Star Wars. So that feels good. I always knew that I was at home in the Star Wars universe. Recently though, I have felt at home in the Firefly 'verse. It's good to know that you can have two interests and nobody hates you for that. I'm not saying that Firefly fans are haters, but I do have to tell you that as a fan of a band in the 80's (I mean diehard fan) there was always something to be said for only liking one or the other. I don't feel that with Firefly. I feel like I can still let my true colors as a Star Wars freek shine and also love Firefly too. I just want to say thanks to everyone who has made me feel comfortable around the 'verse. I don't think that it gets said enough. I just want to pass along the warm words and maybe a hug or two. Okay everybody get close to your computer and hug yourself really tight. We will call it the largest browncoat hug ever. It's the hug felt round the world! Thanks everyone for making my days less boring and my life full. :)

Against my better judgement, I have started working on a new story, called "Reunion." It's interesting because I wrote the last scene first, whereas with my others I started at the beginning. One of my favorite horror/sci-fi authors as a young adult was Christopher Pike, a sort of R.L. Stine type who wrote a lot of formulatic fiction. He published a collection of short stories in the late nineties (when I was in middle school) that was interesting because it contained an introduction to each story describing the creative process. I remember Pike writing about how he would often be struck by certain scenes within a story, and then build the rest of the piece around that. That's been very similiar to the way I've written the four stories on this site; the final scene between Simon and Kaylee in "Honor," Kaylee and Book pointing guns at each other in "Song of Shepherd," and Simon's father shooting him in "Home" were all the first things that came to me before I set down to write. As a teaser, here's the last scene of "Reunion." It's not going as well as I would have hoped, writing wise. This might be my last piece, if I publish it at all. But there you have it. Jayne sat outside in the shadow of Serenity, her cargo door open spilling light out into the cool night. Behind her, the ruins of the training house still smoldered in the distance. At the sound of approaching footsteps, Jayne raised his shotgun. Seeing the laser sight play across Mal’s harried visage, Jayne let the gun go slack, though he did not un-cock it. “You find anythin’ aboard that 母亲笨蛋’s ship tell us how he got a bead on us, Capt’n?” Jayne leaned forward in his chair. Mal sighed, limping forward. “Not a thing that tells us who’s turning these wheels; could be he just kept after us after last year.” He looked quizzically at Jayne. “Didn’t I tell you to get to bed? Inara said the temple was literally the only thing on this rock, and now…” he gestured back to the hollow shell. Jayne sat back. “Mebbe it was. Mebbe not. I know one thing; there’s folks in there I care about” – he thumbed back at the ship – “that been through hell tonight. An’ if I can see they get at least a night’s peace by spending the dusk sittin’ here guarding their dreams, then I’ll do just that.” Jayne leaned back in his stool. “Seems like a pretty foolish thing to do.” Mal’s voice was heavy. “Right foolish.” Jayne looked up at him. “You want me to find you a chair?” Mal blinked rapidly. “I can find my own damn chair.”

I really have little to say, but I am on the phone with my mother and she is driving me nuts. I have to clean, I have to work on my gurilla marketing idea, I have to work on my fic, I have to sleep. But alas, my mother has spent the last 50 minuites talking to my sister in the backround and complaining about my cousin. GURR!!! And my gorram ear hurts. But she's my mother, what can I do?? Complain to you guys, I guess. My new fic is near done, just polishing. It's a post-BDM canon fic that has become a Mal/Inara story with a job and something that goes wrong, 'cause, well you need that! But there's M/I, K/S, Zoe deals and Jayne, well he Jaynes. I hope to post this weekend. OOps, phones dying, excuse to go! Be well, all.

Indeed, you have been a tremendous inspiration for so long in my life as well as the lives of millions of others. Twenty one consecutive U.S. Cup appearanceces is no small feat by any means. It will be a sad day to see you leave the tennis world, and more than one tear will be shed to be sure, but you've given so much over the years and we understand that it's your time now. Sir, I give you the Browncoat Salute. Wait... I'm not sure I have the right bald guy. (Fast forward 19 years) Indeed, you have been a tremendous inspiration for so long in my life as well as the lives of millions of browncoats. Twenty one consecutive Comic Con appearanceces is no small feat by any means... P.S. Thanks for going out of your way to deliver the goods. I'm seriously thinking of framing the shirt and beating up my trained ape of a friend for the Joss signed comic.

Greetings and salutations from Hong Kong my fellow browncoats. I just arrived for a year of study abroad, and since this is like my number one site to visit when i am web surfing, well i just am going to have to keep my log here. Just to give y'all some background, I am on a foreign exchange from LSU to Chinese University of Hong Kong. These first few days have been a bit of a blur, but I seem to be getting at least a little used to this place. My temporary room overlooks the harbour and man isn't that one heck of a view. I bought a shiny new cell phone today so if any of yall are in the area, drop me a line and i'll try to get to you. well that is it for now, but fear not, there shall be more hence forth, whether y'all like it or not. zai jian

I'm not homophobic. I don't see anything wrong with two gays being together, but what is up with all of the slash on some of these fanfic sites? Like "Firefly's Glow". Fair to say that half of it is slash. I've been looking for Mal/Inara fics and I stummble on to this huge archive. First time in the Firefly 'Veres mind you. I didn't know what all of the slang meant. So I open a few and suddenly they start to discribe something that really don't turn me on... Jus' askin', why? And maybe someone could point me in the direction of somemore fanfic sites, that would be great. :)

I've decided to stop Deus Ex Machina. It's just getting needlessly complicated. My new series, Remembrance, will start small, then build up towards a final, gigantic story. Of sorts.
Tuesday, 29 August 2006 22:05:18
Everything has a sequel now a days, why can't Serenity? Why can't the movie that should have a sequel, have one?!? Or maybe some dump executive will see the movie and say, "We should make a T.V. show out of that." Bring back FIREFLY!!!

It wasn't going to last. I might have known it wasn't going to last. Didn't really expect that it would. Hoped that it might lead someplace special, but the realist in me kept nattering that there wasn't a snowball's chance in hell it would ever lead me to what I wanted most. Another person. Someone to share with. Happiness, sadness, joy, grief, everything that faces us human beings today. How many of us face it alone? Too many. What happens to people who stand alone to face every rutting thing life has to throw at them? Don't know. But I'm going to find out. I'm a patient man, that's one thing that 27 years of rejection will do for you. They'll also turn you into the person you truly are. Realism, patience, understanding, heart; these are all things that I show to everyone. They make me who I am to everyone else. There aren't any who see who I really am. You could count on one hand the people who have seen the bereaved, hardened and outcast soul that lies beneath. You know what they say about looking for love in all the wrong places? Well, times like this compel me to ask, is there a right place to look for it? Is there any place to look for it? Sure the hell doesn't feel like it. Sure the hell feels like the one thing that I really need is the one thing that I'm never going to have. Why? Because whatever I appear to be, I am what I am and I've yet to meet a body in this 'verse who wants to accept that. Guy like me, does he ever get loved? Or does he just go through his whole damn life being expected to change who he is just to suit everybody else's mood? I ain't with that. I'm fed up with having to be the one who has to change and I'm fed up with being rejected because of the kind of guy I am and I'm fed up with being brushed aside because everyone else is too gorram busy thinking about themselves. But if that's how life's going to be, might as well learn to live with it, just like every other crock of shit I've had to put up with. This was fated to happen, it might as well happen two days before my birthday. I might as well be left to wonder if I'm ever going to be loved for who and what I am and if I'm ever going to matter two-thirds of a turd to anyone. Till that happens – won't be getting my hopes up at that – stay on the move, that's the key. Who knows? Maybe I'll run across some kind of light to shed on this black hole where my heart used to be.

Sad news gang..fridays little lightning we had show decided to hit and set fire to one of the buildings I work at..we managed to get all the elderly folk out without injury or mishap, but the building's a total loss..(to the tune of 2.6 million dollars...) so needless to say I've been pretty busy of late...we isolated that building and got power and water to the rest of the property so that's a plus... watching someone who's lived a lifetime pick through their trashed, burnt memories is not my idea of a fun time..... so moral of the story in two words...renters insurance..that's it for now...gotta get some sleep...

Hey guys. I know it's been a while since I updated Cruel Summer but I promise I'll write more soon. I've just recently really lost my Firefly muse and I need a bit of a break. I'm sure you understand. I was actually close to updating, but then I had my heart broken and my muse flatlined again. Now I have an idea for a piece of original fiction that I need to get out. After that, however, back to Cruel Summer. In short, please bear with me! More soon, I swear!

A man is only as good as his word. He who knows and knows he knows is wise, follow him. He who knows not and knows not that he knows not, is a fool, shun him. He who knows not and knows he knows not is simple, teach him. He who knows and knows not that he knows is asleep, awaken him. From my advanage point, I see wonderful people here. I wish the rest of the world always protrayed such people...

I passed my driving test!!! Third time lucky I guess *_^ Thank Buddha... Now...onto flight school so I can pilot Serenity! Haha...I'm such a retard sometimes...

Since I dumped Deus Ex Machina, I had to come up with a new series. That series is Remembrance. It describes the events leading up to something that shook the universe. Also, it's written from Simon Tam's point of view. Although the story takes place fifteen months after Miranda, the author (Simon himself) sees the events described in remembrance as having happened ten years ago. So, basically, here's a timeline: Serenity (Pilot)--Eight months--Miranda--Fifteen months--The events described in Remembrance--Ten years--Simon Tam writes Remembrance Hope that makes it clear.

Okay, that title sounds a little misleading. I'm not really leaving, as in permanently; rather, I'm going out of town for several days and won't have access to this site during that time. :crap: I don't know how I'll manage, but I'll be spending time with family so it won't be too bad. I don't know how many people will read this. I just wanted to try my first blog and let y'all know why you aren't hearing from me. I'll be gone through September 6. In the meantime, have fun and save some of the good stuff for when I get back! Browncoats are the greatest.

Anyone know where I could maybe find any Buffy/Firefly crossovers? I've read about two I think, but can't seem to find them on my own. Any help would be great.

Firefly & Serenity my favourite tv series and movie. Whenevery I feel down I watch either and it makes me happy. You can email me if you want to know something in cantonese or mandarin (they are my second languages, writing and oral).

Today is more of the same old same old here at work. At least the idiots are in hiding this week! :) For that I am glad. The kind of work that I do is tedious and has a specific deadline. After the deadline, things are pretty mellow until the beginning of the next week. So today, I'm catching up on paper work, working on a RPG that I am a part of and just plane lounging around. Unfortunately, I'm still board. So I just thought I would blog about it. I've also realized that no one gets me around here. I don't think that there is anyone who is so obsessed with things as I am. Most people are normal and don't just love one or two things. It's good to know that other parts of the 'verse have people who are just as obsessed. Here's to another day of fun-filled paperwork! (raises glass for toast) Who's with me?
Thursday, 31 August 2006 18:32:48
...Finished "Reunion" quicker than I would have thought. Don't really plan on writing anything more for a while, with my senior year of college starting and everything. Turned out a little better than I expected - I was worried I had all these scences that didn't fit together, and I seemed to be able to make it flow decently.
Thursday, 31 August 2006 18:42:41
I finally upload my first work to Firefly!! Yay me!

So the on-going drama in my latest blogs involved me trying to get into this Creative Writing class offered by my university. I submitted a portfolio at the beginning of August though I have to admit I thought I had little chance of getting accepted. And then, what do I find in my junk e-mail box today but an e-mail from the prof saying I made it in. Good thing I checked my junk mail. A list of accepted students was supposed to be available yesterday and I had been phoning the English department constantly to see if I had made it. Of course, every time I phoned I got a recorded message saying the lady who answers the phones was away from her desk. I guess they like keeping the students in suspense. Gets the creative juices flowing. "Did I make it? Did they hate my writing? Did the prof laugh when she saw my stuff?" What a way to end the month. Now I got to rearrange my schedule but at least the waiting is over.
