Joss wanted to see a goofier side of Mal, and sweeter side of Jayne, if the series had continued. I like to think I am continuing that vision, in my own not-so-humble way. I have a few folks waiting for angst to crop up in my fics - I don't do hurt/comfort or bigepic angst. I think watching two people interact on a human level is far more affecting. This isn't to say that I'm not going to blow s**t up if the script calls for it, of course. I got absolutely mugged by one pairing that I never intended to write, but it just crept up on me, the more I rewatched or re-read.

So I'm just going to continue on my own goofy little way. Of course, this means I'm in deep crap when the series returns - I'm going to be yelling at the screen, when it doesn't go 'right'. Unless Joss offers me a job. I would love to write the next Serenity novel - hell, I'll fight for it. Got my own sword and everything.
