6ixStringJack: I don't get nightmares from movies either. Still suffer from night terrors on occasion, although I've gone through so many of those I figured out how to easily get out of them when you're paralized. You just need to start wiggling your toes and you'll quickly get life back into the limbs from the bottom up. Works great when the smoke demon is staring at you from the corner of the room and it's a herculean effort to try and sit up so you can snap out of it.

My younger brother and I were probably like 8 and 10 when we watched that and neither of us wanted to take a shower at my grandma's house because our shower upstairs was just a tiled stand-up unit with a drain in the floor and that shower scene was it for us.

Brenda: It did seem like people like it. If I watch it I will have to lights on. I don't do the lights out anymore on certain movies. Last time I did that I was watching "IT" and that completely creeped me out.

6ixStringJack: Has a real creepy vibe to it, which is what's drawing me to it. I thought it came from the 60's or the 70's because it was filmed to look that way and it appears to take place in the 70's. I don't want to watch a trailer because I don't really know what it's about at all. I just love the look of how it's filmed and if it's impressive as the 97%/82% Critic/Audience score would lead you to believe, there could really be a sweet payoff on this thing. I think I am going to watch it soon with the lights out at night.

Brenda: One was a horror movie called, "Werewolves." I usually like werewolf movies. The only horror monster Blair and I could agree on.

But this one made no sense what so ever and it wasn't an old one either. It was done in 2024. Basically a supermoon released a dormant gene in humans turning them into werewolves. Scientists working on something to stop it which it doesn't. So the whole movie is people running around trying to avoid them and only one family survives. It just wasn't believeable in any way. The other was about a contract killer putting a contract out on himself because he was dying. Some sort of comedy/ murder thing. Also dumb. "Killer's Game". - http://www.fireflyfans.net 07.19 23:09

Brenda: Like I said years and I could use a movie like that now. Last couple of movies from my library suxxxed. I just can't be bothered with what most like for me would be wrong numbers or scams. I manage to keep politics out of a lot of things too. And you have got the cell phone brains right. 6ixStringJack: Shawshank is just a great feel good movie. Miss those. I find that not having a smart phone is a real good way to compartmentalize my life. I really do manage to keep my politics to myself and not think about them much if at all when I'm out in the actual real world. She looked around for him and I spotted him stopped to which I said, "He's playing with his phone." I can't see the point. Barely anyone calls me on a landline, so why waste money on something I will never use. Told my old man that I'd seen it a dozen times when I was young, but hadn't seen it in probably 20 years now. Yeah. Me too. Good for us since we're the only ones in the waiting room without smartphones. Just rewatched Shawshank Redemption with the old man a little while back and when they pulled Andy out of solitary he said he had his music with him and he pointed to his head.

6ixStringJack: I've got a bit of a playlist still, but it's only a few hundred songs compared to the thousands and thousands I used to have. My problem is that I've listened to most of my favorites in the background so many times at this point that none of them really mean anything to me anymore. 6ixStringJack: Yeah.... See... I can't agree with you on the music thing. Give me a curated digital playlist that I don't have to think about anyday over the way we used to do things. But that's what I meant about you having and being able to maintain that intimate connection with music you love. It's BECAUSE you would not want to listen to them outside of tapes, CDs or vinyl. I envy that. I can't even be arsed to rebuild my digital collection which really wouldn't be hard to do. There's no way I could go back to loading up a CD just to listen to the one or two good songs I'd want to hear on most of them after tasting too much of the forbidden fruit.

6ixStringJack: Yeah. Woulda, coulda, shoulda. I stopped doing lists around 6 years ago. Still got a lot done without them for a long time, but never was as on top of things after I let that list slip away from me as I was when I was on point. With the work I do it's kind of the same thing, where i can usually find stuff because it's all there "somewhere". Brenda: Yeah, I've got the odd song on tape that my mum liked. But I can't listen to Hank Snow or Wilf Carter. I have a friend who in her last move got rid of all her music. 6ixStringJack: I used to have tons of classic rock and everything I grew up with, along with the Billboard top 100 from every year back to the 30's and a bunch of other stuff but I didn't have it backed up and I lost most of it when I had a hard drive failure. Brenda: I've heard a variety of music growing up from classical to rock and roll. 50's to country and western. Cassette tapes created from recording off the radio, tapes and records from the library. Then the bands that came in and some disco.

Brenda: Oh, I know SIG is doing great in spite of everything. And that's good to see. Though I think she's only 10years older than me. Makes me feel a little lazy too. 6ixStringJack: I've never actually used those pads myself, so you'll have to let me know what you think of them. I've always either muscled something alone or had help moving it. The closest I've gotten is putting the small sticky pads on the feet of everything after I restored the hardwood floors. They work pretty great, although I still only move the heavy stuff if I've got some help. Even with the pads, I remember I did move something really heavy and it did scuff up my finish a bit, even if it didn't gouge anything or break through the finish. But they're great for moving things like my couch when I want to vacuum under and behind them.

I remember how much more music meant to me back when you had your dedicated albums and you actually had to go to the trouble of loading them up to give them a listen. And how important your cassette tapes were to you because that was your means of customization. Brenda: Yeah, he loved it when I told him. It was a great idea but like I said it wouldn't work on the nightstand because it's in an awkward position. I've got some furniture slides now and I just have to get off my butt and move the blasted thing.
