No, the point is they are too stupid to care about the rule of law unless they themselves are standing in front of a judge. That they have no character. Therefore, they will stand by and let Trump tear down all the institutions that are the backbone of our country. That because they have no character they will allow this to happen to the determent of their loved ones. Now and in the future.
They are not just the uneducated. They represent those who could not succeed even if given the opportunity to go farther in school than the 10th grade. These are the guys who just can't. That's why they hate.

Chris Matthews lit into Sanders in a supposed interview with Klobuchar, saying that when it came to 'Bernie' (on a first-name basis with the candidate, are we, Chris?), Sanders couldn't even agree with 'the rest of' the democrats that they needed to 'get rid of Trump'; but that instead for 'Bernie' 'this is all about my big social democratic revolution I wanna start'. Steve Schmidt commentary was that Gabbard was 'spectacularly awful' and 'dishonest', and Matthews gave him a forum to speak at length to Gabbard, where he repeated the 'dishonest' diatribe, as well as accusing her that her positions were 'extreme', then raising the talking point about talking with Assad. And Chris Matthews kept interrupting her and hectoring her to declare Assad a war criminal, when she kept TRYING to make the point that there are international legal processes to determine that.

Democrats aren’t doing impeachment right.
There’s no way to get to 67 votes in the Senate without overwhelming support from voters of both parties.
The only way you get to the high threshold of popular support necessary to convict in the Senate is by impeaching based on counts that are clearly proven and undeniable, and that a lot of Americans, not just members of the impeaching party, care about.
The impeachment of Donald Trump should have been based on issues that nobody could deny and that everybody, regardless of which party they belonged to, could see was a major problem.
Most Republicans do not care about Ukraine. Neither do many Democrats! Besides, the issue of intent is far from proven. It’s not a unifying issue for Americans.
Andrew Johnson was impeached partly because of his nasty disposition, and came one vote from conviction in the Senate. I would have gone after Trump for his bad temperament. Everyone agrees a president should be calm and deliberate. No one would argue that Trump’s personality is presidential.
Child separation would have been powerful. Not even Republicans approve of stealing kids and then losing them.
Emoluments would have worked too. Lining your pockets as president is frowned upon by everyone.
Tax cheating would have worked too.

A lot has happened since Valentine's day, 2017.
Nancy hasn't wanted this to happen since day one, since she knew that there was no way to make it work out well for Democrats if it actually happened.
Trump forced her to do it. So she caved to the gang of four and the extreme left wing nutjobs and started the informal process and would have been happy to just let that ride for the next year.
But then Trump forced her to make it official.
Now she HAS to go through with impeachment. The Democrats are too far in to just walk away from it right now. They would get annihilated in the elections next year if they did that, simply because of low Democrat voter turnout.
But rather than string this freakshow on longer (like most Legacy Media outlets say she should be doing), she's going to try to speed it through the process for a quick vote before Christmas to just put it to bed.
I'm of the mind that if enough Democrats defect and vote against impeachment to save their own asses in 2020, that an equal number of Republicans should vote for it, just to make sure it happens.
Then the GOP controlled congress should drag it out for at least another 6 months and keep Sanders and Warren off the trail.
Nancy just wants this to go away at this point. Nobody should allow her to get away with that. She needs to pay for her poor choices.
Everybody expects that A) Not enough Democrats will defect, and B) Republicans are going to immediately vote it down and enrage the left even further.
I wouldn't let either of those things happen. Make sure impeachment passes the house by giving it full partisan support. Then spend the next 6 months proving that there was no wrong doings and it was nothing more than the political hack job that it was designed to be from the beginning.
Maybe we can dismantle MSNBC and CNN and get people like Rachel Maddow blacklisted from ever reporting again too. Maybe freeze her ill-gained assets and re-allocate them back to the media corporations to fund actual journalists and fact checking departments that have seen massive downsizing or even straight up removal of their departments to fund multi-million dollar contracts by these idiot talking heads that are tearing the country apart.

Trump will be reelected in 2020, and it's very likely that the GOP will take back the house and maintain the Senate majority.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court will be stacked with right leaning judges as the old Dems die of old age, and the lower courts are being stuffed with a record number of GOP judges as we speak.
The balance of power is going to terribly be tilted in the GOP's favor for a generation or more to come.

The last time Congress arrested and detained a witness was in 1935. Since then, it has instead referred cases to the United States Department of Justice. The Office of Legal Counsel has asserted that the President of the United States is protected from contempt by executive privilege.

Any hope that Sen. Ted Cruz might put partisanship aside to objectively consider impeachment articles calling for President Trump’s removal from office were blown away like dust by his unequivocal embrace of the false assertion that Ukraine was as guilty as Russia of hacking the 2016 presidential election.
At a time when this country desperately needs objective leadership from public officials with the type of constitutional knowledge Harvard Law graduate Cruz possesses, he has instead decided to follow a path of political expedience. “Ukraine blatantly interfered in our election,” Cruz said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” knowing full well the facts do not support his case.
Cruz isn’t alone. Other Republicans similarly tied to Trump’s political future are also repeating the canard that Ukraine did as much as Russia to interfere with the 2016 election. Even if that were true, it would not excuse treating Trump’s alleged abuse of the Constitution as if it were an inappropriately timed belch.
The Republicans’ collective flop is an open invitation for Trump to assume monarchical power. If the founders of this nation wanted a king, they wouldn’t have created a three-legged system to keep each branch of government in check, including the presidency.
Cruz is mirroring Trump by suggesting the debunked Ukraine story is reason enough to disregard the House’s impeachment inquiry.
It’s ironic that Trump, who has done nothing but bash the news media ever since he decided to run for president, has settled on an allegation made in a Politico article www.politico.com/story/2017/01/ukraine-sabotage-trump-backfire-233446 two years ago as a defense for his treatment of Ukraine.
The Politico article said some Ukrainian officials were so concerned about Trump’s close ties to Russia, which invaded their country in 2014, that they sought ways to help Hilary Clinton to win the 2016 election.
Nothing the Ukrainians did came close to the state-run disinformation campaign personally directed by Russian President Vladimir Putin to help put Trump in the White House. Yet Cruz insists Ukraine was as bad as Russia.
“The sitting ambassador from Ukraine wrote an op-ed blasting Donald Trump during the election season,” said Cruz. Apparently, the senator never heard the old saying about sticks and stones hurting more that words. Russia hurled sticks, stones and the kitchen sink at America’s presidential election in an effort to impact its results. He doesn’t need us to remind him, but we’ll say it anyway: Writing an op-ed in a newspaper rebutting criticism of one’s country doesn’t come close to counting as illegal “interference” with an American election.

Why do you think that Democrats sitting on it now would give them any sort of bargaining power?
From where I'm sitting, Pelosi wants to pass it through the house before any more Democrats get cold feet and either defect or abstain from voting.
The RCP aggregate for a the last few days for the first time actually shows more people against impeachment than for it.
I believe that the against ratio is much higher in favor of Trump than the polls suggest, but using the polling aggregate strictly to gauge trends over time, this isn't a good look for Democrats two days before the vote.
There won't be anything new that makes it worse for Trump if they were to drag it out, and though his approval/disapproval rating has remained entirely static during this whole process, the support for/against impeachment has swung in Trump's favor.
If the house were to drag it out, it would likely swing even further in his favor before a vote.
Best case scenario for Democrats is to vote for impeachment now, watch the Senate make a huge mistake and rush through a vote against it, and then Democrats can spend the next 5 years crying about that like they do about the Electoral College.

And, 6ix, you certainly are setting yourself up for soul crushing disappointment if Trump doesn't win the coin flip to be reelected. You keep pretending he is absolutely going to win, when real probability is still only 50%. If the Election Coin Flip comes up heads, I get another 4 years of high quality entertainment from the Fattest Clown on Earth, plus I get another income tax cut. If the coin comes up tails? Your secretary of state paints a much different picture, although since there isn't a breakdown between registered Democrats vs registered Republicans the data is inconclusive.
