At the end of the day, none of your bitching and moaning is going to matter anyhow.
Trump will be reelected in 2020, and it's very likely that the GOP will take back the house and maintain the Senate majority.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court will be stacked with right leaning judges as the old Dems die of old age, and the lower courts are being stuffed with a record number of GOP judges as we speak.
The balance of power is going to terribly be tilted in the GOP's favor for a generation or more to come.
You have nobody but yourselves to blame for that. And don't think I'm going to forget who's fault it was next time and be on your side when the pendulum swings the other way.
We might be fighting the same powers that be when that time comes, but I will not associate myself with any of you hypocrites and fools.

What Trump is doing is equivalent to declaring that legislation only needs a vote in the Senate and his signature to make a law. A vote in the House is illegitimate. Maybe in his next term he'll actually say that if the GOP does not win a majority in the House.

There won't be a President Elizabeth Warren or President Bernie Sanders.
Even if they weren't tied up 6 days a week instead of on the campaign trail because of the impeachment in the Senate, the DNC would never allow Bernie to get the nod and Warren's numbers have tanked so bad lately that she's barely hanging on to 3rd place with Buttigieg right behind her. If Bloomberg wasn't in the race now, she'd be 4th place behind Buttigieg already.

The last time Congress arrested and detained a witness was in 1935. Since then, it has instead referred cases to the United States Department of Justice. The Office of Legal Counsel has asserted that the President of the United States is protected from contempt by executive privilege.

Too many steps: Following a contempt citation, the presiding officer of the chamber is instructed to refer the matter to the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia; according to the law it is the duty of the U.S. Attorney to refer the matter to a grand jury for action. Sure, the grand jury will really charge a Senator with not showing up for Trump's impeachment trial. Then the Senator's trial in Federal Court must be scheduled. If 5 Senators don't attend Trump's completely fake trial, that's 5 Federal court trials. The election will be over for several years before all these steps are completed.
