6ixStringJack: Huh... Never got sleepy on OTC pain stuff before. Only had 2 prescription pills in my life and said I was never doing those again because I knew straight away now easily I could get addicted to them if I kept using them. That wasn't a sleepy feeling either, but it was as if a lifetime of aches and pains just went away in an instant and were gone for the rest of the day and I walked around like I was 13 years old again.

6ixStringJack: Yikes. Yeah. Sleeping on it wrong is the worst. I think that's what I did for a prolonged period a few weeks back and once I did that it seemed like it would be fine for a day but I'd just move it wrong or do something and bring it right back. Brenda: I don't like pain meds either. They have or used to have a tendency to put me to sleep, especially if I take them during the day. I keep a little tylenol on hand just in case. But yeah. 6ixStringJack: Know what you mean about the pain too. I don't ever take pain meds, but I had some old ibprofrin lying around that my aunt gave me years ago and ended up taking 3 pills over that time. That's the cool thing about not taking meds and being sober for so long. They REALLY worked, and almost instantaniously. Just one tiny ibprofrin and in 5 minutes the pain was gone, just like that. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 06.15 05:23

6ixStringJack: Oh no... I was doing something wrong myself and screwed up my neck just a few weeks back. Feeling good now, but on and off for about 10 or so days I'd wake up and for about an hour I could hardly turn my head to the right and I told my old man I felt like Michael Keaton in his batman suit.

6ixStringJack: Bah... It happens. I do "dumb" stuff all the time when I'm doing projects. If you don't count the swearing, "why would you do that?" is probably one of my most used phrases mid-project.

6ixStringJack: That needs to be done, otherwise you'd have to find something very sturdy to fit back there that you can sit on, and then find additional padding to cover it so you're not uncomfortable. That's a lot of work and you might not actually end up comfortable with that setup anyhow, where I think you'd enjoy your time in bed sitting up much more if you could get somebody to help you move the entire thing back up against the wall as far as it will go. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 06.13 23:31

6ixStringJack: Oh... Okay. Yeah. I don't think you even need padding then. If it's that hard to move even without carpet, I doubt you'd need it even when you got it backed up to the spot you need to put it. I'd still recommend some furniture pads to put at the ends of the frame that would bolt into the headboard to protect the wall, just in case.

6ixStringJack: Do you mean, simply, that the bed was put together and you now have 13" of space from the wall without a way to move it back because the bed won't move? Because if that is the case, you don't need any padding back there to protect the walls.

6ixStringJack: You probably don't need the cups. I wouldn't worry about it. Even if the bed were to move a little on you over time, it wouldn't be like you'd be pushing it away quickly where you'd have an accident. You could just get a couple of rubber door stoppers too and put them under two of the wheels and you'll be fine.

6ixStringJack: Let me know how it goes. Should be a pretty easy solution. If you can't find furniture pads that you think will do the job, you can really just wrap the ends up with anything soft and tape the hell out of them and your bedding should hide it if it doesn't look great.

6ixStringJack: Yeah. You probably wouldn't need those coasters at all, especially if the floor is carpeted. My brother's place removed the carpets in the entire building before he even got there, so it's all vinyl tile flooring. He ended up getting a few of those wheel cup things because he was having a problem with the bed rolling on him if he was up playing games on his phone before bed. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 06.11 23:46

I don't know what they're called, but they're squares that fit under the wheels with little walls around the edges that would make sure it stayed put on you once pressed down on the carpet with the weight of the bed on them. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 06.11 11:14

If you weren't looking for anything fancy like a light or shelving behind you, really no need to put an ugly piece of plywood up there when you can just pad out the back of the metal so it doesn't scrape your wall. 6ixStringJack: I would think that would look a lot nicer than having a plywood headboard either way. And unless you were worried about the bed rolling out from you, it shouldn't be a problem. You got carpeting under it? Do the wheels have a "brake" or other locking mechanism? 6ixStringJack: What about just putting the bed up to the wall then? Does the frame stick out too far that you wouldn't be able to do that? That's why I suggested some furniture pads to put between the ends of the frame that would bolt into a headboard just so you protect the wall and the paint job. I'd tell you to turn the bed around, but that probably is much easier said than done and then you'd have two tripping hazards that could wreck your shins one day too, so probably not ideal anyway. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 06.11 02:57
