Brenda: Yeah, Sam Neill is great. Loved him in the first JP movie. One thing I saw him in was a tv movie written around Merlin and King Arthur's court. He was Merlin and at the end he said, "No more magic in the world." 6ixStringJack: I saw that first one so many times. What an awesome flick. Those special effects still hold up today while half of the CGI they put in these new ones look instantly outdated. Sam Neil was great in anything I've seen him in. In the Mouth of Madness was awesome and he was great in it. 6ixStringJack: After that, I've never seen the 3rd original movie, and then I did watch whichever one was the first of this new batch, but don't remember much of it and never watched any more of them. You just go back and watch that first one and it was so good. CGI can't compete with that, and they're just not putting great stories into these high budget blockbusters so I can't really be bothered. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 08.13 10:10

Brenda: Here is a flipside, I am watching "Twister" now and loving it. Helen Hunt?'s crew are bunch of crazies along with her a bit. Then through in the ex-husband and his new love along with the guys who are in for the glory. And it is great. Some scenese had me telling the tv "Don't go there."

Brenda: I figure the contract was with the Devil. I mean that is the old story isn't it. Selling your soul. That is an interesting theory that his demon Abraxis is above the devil when it is usally Satan that is. I did notice the END OF TRANSMISSION at the end of the film and figured that part out. That something was unleashed into the home of anyone watching.

6ixStringJack: I liked one theory I saw that Abraxis (in that parallel universe where Johnny Carson still exists) is actually above both God and the Devil, and even though it was the Devil that was in Lilly, it was Abraxis himself who was ordering the Devil to do what he did. In that theory, the first time David signed a contract, it was with the Devil himself, but when he went back years later after the death of his wife and still not being successful, the second contract he made was with Abraxis. It wasn't until the Devil did what was done at the end that David finished the ritual the cult started for Abraxis by doing what he did at the end that the ritual was complete, and Abraxis was actually what was unleashed into every household watching. If you notice at the bottom of the screen at the very end, it says "END OF TRANSMISSION", but right before it fades out it switches to "SO IT IS DONE". - http://www.fireflyfans.net 08.12 10:43

6ixStringJack: I think Lynch's stuff (outside of pretty much Dune) is really about how much thought you want to put into it after you've seen it. You won't even be mistaken that you don't know what's going on after watching Mullholland Drive. I think Lost Highway probably did a better job wrapping it all up and at least making some sense of some main plot oints, even though there's sure to be strings everywhere to pull at. I never really felt the pull back to that one like I did with movies like Mullholland Drive or similar non-Lynch stuff like Donnie Darko. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 08.12 10:31
