Brenda: My mum loved Rumble in the Bronx and I tried to watch it but I just couldn't get into it. Now, I did like the movies he did with that comedian and I can't remember his name. Those were funny. Jackie Chan has quit the comedic streak in him. I've seen some of his newer stuff and it is pretty good. Not funny but more serious, still good though. Brenda: I lost interest in SNL when all the good ones started leaving Like Dan Akroyd, and yes even Bill Murray along Belushi. They made some great stuff but now, If I catch a bit of it to me it is just dumb. Rap is just noise to me. Give me my old time rock and roll, like Bob Seger sang.

Brenda: Yeah, there was some good tv stuff being produced back then. Stuff like Miami Vice, B5. The Star Trek spin-offs and yeah the movies were good too. Probably a majority of DVDs I've got of movies were made then and even some video tapes too.

I don't remember any plots to any of his movies, but I know I saw at least 3 of them in the theaters back in the day with friends or my dad and brothers. I love Jackie. 6ixStringJack: I think there are a lot of reasons why the writing in Hollywood sucks today. The 80's and most of the 90's were a pretty positive time overall. The music everyone listened to was a lot happier and more optimistic about here and now and the future. Movies and TV shows too. 6ixStringJack: I laughed when you said "a lot of the characters were jerks" in the new Twisters. That's how I felt about every character in The Surfer, but putting it VERY lightly (don't know if you saw my "review" on that movie the other day... possibly the worst movie I've ever seen and a tie between that and Meet The Feebles).

Brenda: Actually I've seen some good kung fu movies or movies about ninjas over the years. Jackie Chan is a good actor and martial artist. His first english language film was Rumble in the Bronx.

It was filmed in Vancouver BC. And he's done numerous ones that I have loved. Drunken Master. Then there were the Once Upon a Time in China. 3 films and very good. Lots of wire work in them as I remember. And Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. That was also good. Again wire work was fantastic. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 08.17 09:38

Brenda: I have a bad habit of seeking out movies with certain actors in them. And I will admit I've seen a number of duds over the last few years. Never been much on Nic Cage. I saw him in that stupid Vampire movie that came out a couple of years ago. It was titled Renfield. 6ixStringJack: Surprisingly, outside of Ninja Turtles, I never got into the whole kung fu craze. All I see online these days is a huge nostalgia for Ninja flicks from the the 80's and 90's and how cool ninjas and martial arts were, and I just never got the desire for it. My favorite ninja flick was Kung-Pow: Enter the Fist, and it's a really stupid parody movie.

Brenda: I'm in the middle of Chinese movie. Lots of kung fu in it. It's sort of a gangster thing. Traid trying to take out this guy after his father killed the original head of the Traid.

Though I did watch the second Twister movie last week. Not as much fun as the first one. The moron who was only in it for the glory was chasing the girl who was a researcher of sorts.
