Or... The Continuing Tales of Ness and Her Decision to Take a Creative Writing Course. (mock soap opera announcer voice) We last left Ness as she was mulling over the idea of taking a Creative Writing course... (Me): Gee, maybe I should decide what courses I need to take for the next year. I'll just head over to the university's website. Let's see... Oooh, more Chinese! A Canadian animation class? I get to watch cartoons for credit? I'm taking that class! Greek and Roman characters in myth? I liked the last mythology class I took. And what about that Creative Writing course that I was interested in... (gasp) What's this? The class is being held at the university's urban campus? (pause) Where the hell is that? (a Goggle search later) It's in the east end of the city? But transit doesn't run there. And the class is at night. Curse you, Creative Writing course! Now I'll never be a writer!! Eh? What's this? Music History; "The Music of Led Zepplin"? Well, that's better than nothing... (to be continued...) ********* So yeah, turns out I would have to go to the urban campus if I want to take the course and the transit system doesn't go there directly. Plus, night time and unfamiliar part of the city equals potential danger. So there goes the dream of becoming a famous writer. Or at least of being a really obscure one who ends up bitter . But that Led Zepplin course sounds interesting even if I don't like the band. It has more potential than some of the other courses the department is offering. And who knows, I might learning something profound while listening to some heavy metal or whatever genre Led Zepplin is.

Finally made it up to Green Bay to visit my mom and stepdad and was finally able to watch Mammoth. It was . . . interesting. Not all that good, but I enjoyed myself. Not much else to say. Felt pretty good about things today, but I hate it because I know it won't last.

eek! just realised i'll be havin' no internet for 6 weeks over the holidays!! for the first 3 weeks of the holiday im goin' to various sailin' regattas/championships and then the last 3 weeks im goin' to france with tommys family. all the 6 weeks involves campin' which means no computer which means no internet!!! i thought the worst thing about my holidays would be missin' leeds festival, but now i'm seein' a whole new (more sinister) side. not only does that mean 6 weeks without fireflyfans.net, it also means no webcomics!! i mean like devil's panties updates daily. let me do the math, thats 42 updates i'll miss!! how shall i survive?! [end rant] in other news, i was listenin to this frank sinatra song yesterday an' i kinda thought it was perfect for my current fanfic 'dreams'. it's called 'i dream of you' (see what i did there?) and lyrics are: you're completely unaware, dear, that my heart is in your hand so for love's sake won't you listen and try to understand? i dream of you more than you dream i do how can i prove to you this love is real? you’re mean to me more than you mean to be you just can't seem to see the way i feel when i am close to you the world is far away the words that fill my heart my lips can't seem to say i want you so more than you'll ever know more than you dream i do, i dream of you i want you so more than you'll ever know more than you dream i do, i dream of you ain't that prettiful?! i love the 'mean' line. quite clever when you think about it... =D its quite a cool song. love frank sinatra... [sofi over and out] ps. feel free to do the commenting to make me feel good thing! it worked well last time... think its one of those minimum input - maximum output things...

OK, I am going to have a big pity party for me. So if you are sick of my whinging, stop reading now. I think I am going to cry. I am not well. I have come to work at the day job only because I have no leave. I was hoping I was not scheduled at the night job. I had a note to sign me off last night and have not been in since last week there. I could have had the note say til Friday, but I didn't. I have called in and I am scheduled. I don't know what to do. If I miss anymore I am sure I will be fired, and unfortunately, if I don't work there we don't eat. It is that simple. I am so frustrated! So now I will go cry.

hi ya'll I need someone to help me. I have a serious situation and with the help o' everyone I think a real change can happen. It's a situation that could really use the backing o' everyone in the world and in the 'verse. I don't want to depress everyone but fans o' firefly could help to stop a bad problem that effects everyone. What should I do? Any help would be much obliged. Sway.

Just posted the next chapter of my story "Family." Unfortunately, I mixed up the Quote and Description boxes when posting. *slaps head* You'd think after all this time I'd know which was which! Anyway, if someone caught the story without the slash warning, I apologize. It's fixed now.

Cheers of joy today at 4pm! My first 2nd year examination over, done with, gone and forgotten. 2 long weeks of stressful revision, 30 minutes of pre-exam panic ("oh my god, what was that guys name?" "what on earth is base-rate falacy?" "what exam is this?"), and half a box of anti-stress choc-chip-cookies and now I can forget everything I've revised. I kinda have to question the point of it all when, just like almost every other exam I've ever had, I just forget most of what I've learnt anyway. But hey, if its what they want, its what they'll get. And I have to say, it wasn't quite as bad as it could have been, and infinately better than I was expecting. And now its the wrong side of 9pm, and the joy has faded and its hit me. I still have 5 more of the buggers to do. 5 more subjects to revise. 50(!) more topics. I've got a fun couple of weeks ahead, and I'm undoubtably going to be spending my birthday revising - assuming the world (or my head) doesn't implode (06/06/06) that day. Anywho, 20% of the years exams down, only 11 more exams *ever* and I can look forward to the joys of working 9-5 7 days a week. I'm not entirely sure which life I prefer, but it can't be much worse than the constant stress I'm under now :D Tonight, I rest, for tomorrow, and every day for the next 2 weeks, I go to war. War with the monster that is only known by the name "revision".

Well, spent most of the day today outdoors. Feelt great to breath fresh air and move around for once. Had this gig that a friend of mine organised where I was supposed to help these kids make LARP weapons and then teach them how to fight with them. Went well, even though they at one time decided that it was me against the whole bunch. Thank the maker that I know how to wield a sword ;) After making those kids whole schoolyear, and becoming adored by them and doned the nicknames "matrix guy" and "vampire" because of my leather coat and sunglasses, it was of for my sweet reward. Pizza! My mate bought me an my brother (who was also there) diner. We choose to eat a pizza buffet wich lasted roughly two hours of munchin delight. Then we drifted off into this whole marketday thing that was going on and got some laughs and finally went home to watch some TV and get some rest. Now, its of to the land of dreams and firefly delight so, See you all around the Verse! And goodnight to.

So, at my uncle's birthday dinner tonight, I ran into my cousin and first convert. She mentioned that a friend of hers (and fellow Browncoat) is coming into town this weekend, and suggested holding a Shindig. Seems like just yesterday I was explaining about how Firefly was cancelled as I dragged her to the BDM. I'm so proud.

Now, we've all seen it on Star Trek. Kirk, Spock and Chekov are on a planet and they need to get past a gaurd. Chekov could just puch the guy, or Kirk could hit him with a chair, but instead Spock comes up behind the guy, squeezes near the base of the neck, and the guard falls to the ground out cold. I was reading the Action Heroes Handbook(pity they didn't have any skills from Serenity or Firefly) and in the paranormal skills section on page 111, they tell you how to do what has become known as the Vulcan Nerve Pinch. The directions were somewhat unclear in terms of were exactly to strike for the near instant, almost silent nockout that Leonard Nimoy always seems to deliver on screen. I know it was just a T.V. show, but I am under the impression that it can be done. If anyone reads this that has ever used the Vulcan Nerve Pinch(from here on in refered to as the VNP) I would apreciate it if you tell me about were to strike/squeeze, if you need to actally hit them with a Judo/Karate chop or can I just squeeze like Spock did, and about how much force should be used along with any other helpfull advice. I would also like to add that I am not a lawbreaker (Far from it, I hope to go into law enforcement, well I want to be a Park Ranger or Game Warden, but that's still law enforcement) and would only use the VNP for defence perposes. Also, I would like any information regarding the thing that the operative in the BDM were he would come up behind the guy and shove his hand into there back(From here on refered to as the ONG or Operative Nerve Gouge). If anyone with any experience in this area could give me afew pointers, that would be great. Any other techneques that you could share with me about how render nock someone out or temporarily imobilize them (giving me time to run away and get the law) would be a great help, especaily from someone who is curently in the military or has long sence left that line of work. Ya see, it's not that I live in a bad area or anything like that, I am fairly strong and in O.K. shape (I need to lose afew pounds, but I've got some muscle on me)but am kindof slow, so if I am ever in a fight, punching might not be the best way for me to go about defending my self, so if I could get instructions for the VNP or the ONG, or another Self-Defence move that doesn't require a large amount of strength and speed, I would be athankin ya. I am posting this here becouse: A, I know from reading some of the posts here that atleast one person here could tell me what I want to know. and B,I hoped yall would be willing to share your information As Malcom Reynolds said in Serenity "I just want to go my way" well, thats pretty much all I want, except there my be someone allong the line who desides that instead me going my way, his fist should go on its way to my face. Keep Flying

Added a story to the Sushi!Verse today... this one is snuck inbetween Sometimes it Takes a Gun to the Head, and A Question of Trust... heeee! Also, I have to apologize for the long delay with Choices... I have been stuck in the worst writer's block for weeks, and am only starting to work my way out of it now. I feel terrible for letting you all down and making you wait so long, but I'm working on it now, and I will try my best to get it done soon. In the meantime, I'll have a couple other little things to post as I get my writin' feet back after such a long dry spell... Thanks for your patience, everyone...

This log is dedicated to the heroic passengers of United Airlines flight 93, who sacrificed their lives on 9/11 so that others would live. Last night, I watched United 93, a film based entirely on true events, although we do not know precisely what happened on the doomed flight 93, the crew has pieced together a realistic sequence of events based around phonecalls made to loved ones by the passengers. As well as being hands-down the best film of the year, it is realistic to the point of dramatic genius. The film is a work of art. For the victims on 9/11, dedicate two hours of your life to see the film. If for no other reason, within the first three days of release, 10% of all box office revenue made by the film goes towards the families of the crew and passengers of flight 93. Go see the film, and remember those who fell so that you could stand.

Kinda nice being able to see the BDM, and have someone else around to share in the laughter and tears :P Lately it's just been me in my room late at night. Just ain't the same by yourself, I've found. Finally got my girlfriend up to speed on the series, so it was time to pop Serenity into the DVD. Actually, quite a good date movie if you're both geeks, I've found :P I was very careful not to mention any of the key moments from the movie beforehand, so she was quite... "shaken" at various parts. The "leaf on the wind" moment... I thought she was going to break all the bones in my fingers :P I almost had to pause the movie so she could compose herself. Anyways, was nice to not be the only one bawling their eyes out through basically the whole last 30 minutes of the BDM. She still can't hear that Leaf on the Wind song by the Bedlam Bards without getting misty-eyed with me :P

Sixth episode! (If we had this on DVD, we'd be halfway through disc two, wouldn't we? :D ) Anyway, this season is going a long way, so bear with me, but all the puzzle pieces will fit together one way or another... Thanks, and keep reading!

Captain's Log, stardate...No, thats another show. Sorry if I took so long in writing my first blog here, but as they say, better late than never. Updates, 1st. I have a new class gotten by scholarship (autographs later) that will take a chunk out of my life 4 days a week, and when I aint at class, I be doing reports on the weekend. Fun, aint it?...It only is when you like the course you've plotted, or I'd have abandonned ship long ago. Now on to Firefly. If it weren't for the strong characterizations, we all probably wouldnt be still around. And, the fact that it IS different from the laser gun scifi is what helped it. I just wanted to find out more about the blue handed guys, before the show was cancelled. But then, thats why we are here, aren't we? To make that up now. Hopefully I'll try to find time during my new school run to explore these guys, and Mal (since he's my fav male chara, Inara the fav female, cause she's equally as complex). Until next time, I remain hangin'.

I'm back, as you may have gathered, after a week on holiday (more or less- we were supposed to fly Friday night but didn't actually take off until sunday morning) It was great, and I have some sort of hint of a tan, which I can show off to my pasty friends tomorrow at school . Couple o' stories to share... Cycling up to the village one morning, when we met the lady who owns the place we stay in, she told us she was going to get the tractor, because their ram had hung itself (don't ask me how) so I just got this picture of it in my head of it hanging from a tree,in a noose, but whatever. Waiting for the ferry on the way back, I was stood near some girls, must have been about 16 years old, and one of them went: I couldn't live here, look I' ve only been here a week and I already have man nails!! Also, I rented Knight's Tale last knight (get it? oh, never mind...) and I think Alan Tudyk is great and incredibly sexy, but he can't do an English accent, bless 'im.

I am so excited to see Serenity on the big screen again and this time the money is going to a great cause and I will get to see it with a theatre full of Browncoats! I hope to recapture that feeling of seeing the BDM's on the big screen as I did the very first time I saw it. At the time that Serenity was first released I was a brandnew Browncoat. I had just found the 'Verse and seen the series all the way through only twice. But to see Serenity glow in a full burn on a big screen sent goosebumps up my arms. It felt that in some small way we had helped get them there even if I had joined the ranks of Browncoats a little late it seemed since they had been on the air in 2002 and somehow I had missed them. But on June 23rd it will be a fantastic event to experience this movie again with those who wish they could sail in a Firefly, those who may have been on the losing side, but not the wrong one, those who believe that it is an honor to wear that dusty brown coat. How many of you will make it to the Concord NH screening besides me?

I'm new to firefly fan fiction. My cousin let me borrow the show and I loved it. I love writing too so I want to put my two loves together!
Monday, 05 June 2006 22:30:47
Okay, here's my story... One of my best online friends Edge is a sci fi nerd but has never seen Firefly all the way through. Just bits and pieces... Anyway, she knows I'm a big fan because I talk about it all the time and even got her to make me an LJ icon with Mal and Inara. She's been taking intrest in the 'verse lately and has asked me about the details about the series and wiki-ing. She does know what happens in Serenity. Not from me, but from the Puppet Theater. She really wants to watch it now. ^^ So...would you call that the beginning of a conversion?
Tuesday, 06 June 2006 00:33:49
I spent an hour (which I should have used studying for my finals) writing a letter to Universal for Serenity Day. And I thought I did a real shiny job on it. So, try to find it tonight and what do I find? I've lost it. Damn my un-orginization. And my lack of knowledge in spelling. A few days later . . .: Shiny!! I found it!
Tuesday, 06 June 2006 00:37:00
Well, I am close to getting my degree. Only 6 more months 'til I can join you guys in the black and help teach the kiddos on the outer rings. Haha! And the alliance thinks that I am going to pay these "loans" back, whatever.
Tuesday, 06 June 2006 00:37:39
I have not seen that many old faces, as in those who were here before the premier of "Serenity", on lately. If any of them do still frequent this fine site, I was wondering if they remember what the blogging was like before the movie. I don't know if it is a new era of openness, but I don't recall the blogs ever being this personal before. I'm not saying anything is wrong with it, just a mere remark at how things are now and then. And I never did welcome any new faces, so, welcome to FireflyFans.net. -Icarus

At the moment there is no chances for me to get into a relationship. Its been roughly 16months since my last real relationship, wich in my world is eternity. I live for the rush of love and there is nothing better in the world then to have someone to call your own. Also, its been a year now since I last got some bunk-action. At the moment all that sexual frustration (and the even worse romancefrustration) is making me claw at the walls for something. When I get like this it feels like a part of me is missing and I would do anything to just feel something. Usually stupid things, like smoking (wich I supposedly quit a couple of months back), or buying stuff (im such a shopaholic at times). I feel like im trapped starving in a glastank watching the rest of the world rush by. My romantic "prospects" at the moment look like this: A girl in a relationshop who is desperate to leave her relationship but doesnt want to be single so therefore hits on every guy that comes walking by. I dont know if I really want to be the rebound guy :/ and... There are also some girls who live way way far away in another city in Sweden who I have been LARPing with. They are cute, and nice, and single. And a friends thinkgs I should try to hook up with one of them. But, they live several hours away, they are not interested in me romanticly, and same goes for me. There just nice people. And last, the LARP that we used to go to with them has been discontinued so I will most likely never see them again anyway. And it doesnt help I live in a city were 75% of the people my age are guys and the girls are all either gay or in a relationship already. (only know two single people and thats only because they used to be a couple and just broke up). So, if anyone has any tips, fire away. Im going lie down in bed and watch some Surface untill I fall asleep.

ARGH!! I'm trying to write a fic for 'I've Got A Dark Alley and a Bad Idea That Says You Should Shut Your Mouth' and Nothing is coming! I freakin' hate Writer's Block! I'm praying to the muses(read:Joss Whedon and Peter Wentz) to help me get an idea of where to take this. I'm not going to repeat Now I Only Waste It Dreaming Of You... My friend Edge is having writer's block too, except it's with a fic in the FOB Dance, Dance video 'verse...still, writer's block is writer's block.

Hey, anyone know where to get a good pair of 'tightpants'? I been casing out eBay, but cant really seem to find anything good. Guess I would be just picky. Also trying for some nice boots. Seems riding boots are the thing. But not expensive... darn. Also still working on the browncoat. Got some leads... I'm excited. And yes, a big ol' geek. Hey, I got my Wash constume all set. Mal's is getting there and Jayne will be next. Already got the hat and all. Now, where does one get a huge ol' gun?

So, I have been told that God only gives you that which you can handle - hence the log title today. Update - Because of the DRAMA of HIMSELF and his mid-life crisis, the boys did not do as well as they should in school. #1 needs 1 credit to graduate - so he is taking it now in summer school. We thought he only needed the first session but it seems he needs both -$220.00. Lovely #2 REALLY lost his mind at some point and FAILED 3 of his core classes - he is taking 1 now and will have to take summer school each summer until Senior year until he graduates. He is definately NOT leading the life of Riley at this moment. another $220. I have to find cheap beds as 2 of the 5 kids are still sleeping on the floor. I have now brought another cat into the mix, because borrowed daughter#2 had to bring hers. SO it needs to be declawed and deflea-d $85. Its all just chugging along in my world. Haven't really been in the verse as I really at this point am only functioning. boo hoo boo hoo Pity Pity Pity.

Ok after I promised myself I would straighten up and stop goofing around on firefly today because of the near flood, I got so into the you are a browncoat if thread that I forgot it was the gardener's day and had to dash around cleaning up after the dogs...I have this vision of my summer spent staring at this monitor accomplishing nothing...so I'm going to the gym before I atrophy.

I've been overloading my myspace profile with a ton of videos from youtube.com. I finally gave up and started my own firefly/serenity group aptly titled, "Why yes, I am addicted to firefly."

So I left straight from work on Friday (after taking several raised eyebrows over why I was putting on a work shirt, a pair of not-too-tight khakis, combat boots, and suspenders), drove through pouring rain, arrived at the Fernwood and promptly found out that 1) registration had closed over an hour earlier and 2) Adam Baldwin had cancelled at the last possible dwindling second due to a family matter. This was a subject of much bitching amongst the event staff for the rest of the weekend. BUT, all was not lost: Nathan Fillion was still in, a bunch of cronies from FFF eventually made themselves and the imminent Shindig known, and with all due immediacy I joined the gathering. We watched a couple of episodes and then 'Serenity' while we hung out, chatted, talked shop, etc. By this time I had already received a half-dozen compliments on my Mal costume and been mistaken for Nathan Fillion by one of the event staff members (albeit she didn't say anything, just stared at me like I had four arms and another half a head). Then Jonathan Woodward showed up. Human speech cannot describe how downright, utterly, intrinsically cool this man is. He is AWESOME. He is down-to-earth, fan-oriented, friendly, wacky, and a super guy. He's also a photographer and wasted no time snapping pictures of us Shindigging. I introduced myself (still in my Mal costume) and he said, "What's up, Captain!" To which I replied, "Okay, you want to tell me why you got yourself all corpsified and mailed to me?" "Still trying to figure that one out. Another thing I can't figure out is why they wouldn't let the guy in on the motherfucking plan!!!" (Well, that kind of would've ruined the deep dark thick layers of meaning at the end, wouldn't it?) So you can imagine how friendly we got as the weekend progressed. What I wouldn't give to see Jonathan again at another con some time. Soooooo...next day, first thing, got registered as soon as the table was open; then, photo shoot with Nathan. Once again I was in costume. Since Adam Baldwin cancelled and Jonathan Woodward stepped in, I got my picture taken with both him and Nathan. When Jonathan introduced us, Nathan shook my hand and exclaimed, "Hey, nice outfit!" Can you say 'mind-blowing'? I am dressed as Mal and the guy who portrayed him has just complimented me on my costume. Yep, I'm still coming off of that one and probably will be for the rest of the year at least. "Damn - thanks very much!" Gotta scan the pic but I'll post it when done. Nathan and Jonathan stole the show for every Q&A session they were in. They are a class act, I tell you, funny as all hell and dead crazy on top of it! In fact, Nathan showed up a little late to the Q&A on Sunday, so instead of going up to the stage, he got in line behind a lady who was asking a question and then he played the part of a nervous fan who was asking a question for the first time and wanted to know what it was like to be on a Joss Whedon TV show. The man is a laugh a millisecond and no mistake. Needless to say, I got his autograph on Saturday (still in costume, of course). In response he wrote upon the photo, "Chris - stay shiny. Keep your pants tight...and ON." [Kaylee]Yes, sir, Cap'n Tightpants![/Kaylee] Got Jonathan's autograph as well. Jonathan, it was teh awesomeness meeting you as well, brotha. I think by the time the weekend was over, four people had mistaken me for Nathan and perhaps a dozen had randomly asked to take a picture of me in costume. I was like, GEEZ, people, it ain't THAT good! I don't even have the coat yet! But the whole weekend was the most brain-warping stupendous time I've had in years, so nary a complaint from this quarter. ;) Now one other thing that must not go without a mention. When I arrived on Friday night, I was informed about the close of registration by a young woman busily clattering on a laptop. Crud. So I sat down and we fell to talking. We chatted for some hours, about Firefly, how we got interested in it, who our favourite characters were, and all that good gou shi. I saw h

Not really sure what I did most of the day today. Watched surface for hours last night so I slept half the day, then spent some two hours or so dancing medieval dances at this thing and after that I kinda watched TV and now its several hours later. Guess ive been setting around most of the day feeling bored. This is now my 47th blog entry, started blogging round 23rd of april. I wonder how many blog entrys most people on this site do? My usual is one a day.

Sorry to everyone out there. But I have been dealing with a few family issuses. My Grandmother suffered a stroke, and had to go to her house. She is better but an MRI showed that she had several earlier small strokes, her doctor said that is a sign of the beginnings of alhimzerls (spelling maybe wrong). She is now in rehib. I really do not know what is going to happen. I have taken a few days off from work to get thing together. I hope things get better.

I was redeeming a bunch of my iTunes credit today and I went to buy Shindig and it was downloading...when my iTunes shut down! So, I basically spent $1.99 and I didn't get my episode! I would have just bought it again but I now only have $1.31 left in credit. Grrr...

So had a semi-marathon today. That is I watched all the Firefly episodes up through 'War Stories' with my padawan. My padawan, you see had not previously had the chance to become enthralled. I assure you, she is now. Also, by watching all those eps, I now have a few fresh ideas for fanfics.

I've had enough of this hacking cough and I'm finally dragging myself to the school clinic. Maybe I'll demand some x-rays.

So, Serenity day. Woot. Awesome. Screening near enough to my hometown. Woot. Also awesome. I may be nowhere NEAR my hometown. Boo! WAAAH!:crap: Yes, there is a screening on June 23rd in Boston. I may be in Miami. Now I LOVE Miami, and I really want to go, and I'm really psyched about it. But...Serenity...midnight screening...roomful of fellow browncoats...and it's for charity...that's hard to resist. I'd be really sorry to miss that... GAH!
Wednesday, 07 June 2006 21:47:23
I have been browsing cafepress.com for quite a while now and I like what I've seen. So many designs made by Browncoats for Browncoats and other interestin' people. But my mind was made up. With Serenity day coming right up and my attending the screening in New Hampshire I had to have something Shiny to wear. So I stopped by 11th hour Serenity Art shop and fell in love with the designs of our beloved Firefly class Serenity in a full burn headin out to the black emblazoned on t-shirts. So I ordered one,in ash grey with Serenity in blues on the front and the word Serenity on the back with a swirly design. I also ordered buttons with Serenity in characters on them. Shiny! So thank you 11th Hour, wherever you are, for your beautiful works of the 'Verse!

Two weekends ago my sister came to visit and I met my new nephew Brandon for the first time. He is such a laid back baby. He was happy to just chill out with whoever held him. Soft and sweet and with that lovely baby smell. He was curious about everything around him and liked fine tuning his motor skills on the nearest person with a finger. He's adorable with his fine black hair and dark eyes. He's gonna be a very cute little boy. Unfortunately I am a geek. So is my guy. My sister and the rest of my family are not. So I think we bored the hell out of them while they were here. I would have been a better hostess but I was walled up in the kitchen and going back and forth to the barbecue. Oh well, at least they seemed to enjoy some of the TV and vidgames. Went out with my guy Sunday and finally got over to the DOTS to look for new jeans. My old ones I liked tore, one pair were taken, and the other ones looked baggy. I found some lovely new ones that I tried on and they were a bit big. The store was closing so I couldn't try on the smaller ones so I just bought them and hoped they fit. Halelujah they do and I really like them a lot.

Well, life sucks. It's been a boring summer so far, as always. Don't have much to look forward to... The ignorance of the modern world is causing me to hate it even more and more by the day, as does being alone and stewing in my own steaming pool of anger. MAKE ME A STONE, so I have no emotion or care. Can't wait till I am reborn as a new man later. Planning to raise some money and head to a Buddhist commune, or start one of my own. I'd like to live off the land with a bit of townsfolk. Go back to barter, hunt for your food, earn your keep. That's how we outta live nowadays. Computers, I guess, could be a leisure. Could serve as a communications post... Hmm... Oh well. Just babbling. I went to the doc's the other day, not in Capital City, of course, else I'd be fixed up right away. Seems I have an enlarged portion of my heart. Hope its not serious, but it hurts a tad. Hope it doesn't flush my military life down the sparkling porcelian bowl. Maybe my wish is being granted. GET OUT OF THIS PLACE AND TIME AND BEGIN ANEW! This world definately NEEDS to change. If anyone sees this... Do you think I should continue my Fanfic? Does it matter? I'd be throwing my penny into the fountain, but there are still thousands of dollars worth of them resting at the bottom, and mine isn't any more shiny.

Ni Haozit, Browncoats. If any BCs going to the Pasadena BDM show June 23rd 10pm need a ride and are near the Chino / Pomon / Upland area, e-mail me & I'll see if we can pick you up. We'll probably be leaving for Pasadena around 7pm so we can get something to eat locally near the theater and not have to be rushed or starving at the show. Stay Shiny. --Jonathan M.A> Ghaffar MAGhaffar@wayoftheseekers.com

I'm in my french class adn we're going over finals stuff...but I'm bored so I'm writing this thing. 2 days of actual classes left!! Whoo-hoo! And then only a week and someodd days till....*dundundun* Serenity Day! But, until then, I'm not allowed to watch Firefly. Yeah, it was "getting in the way of my studies." :blast: Oh, well... I actually got a 95 on that global essay I was whining about. And a 90 on my huge projet (yes, I'm using french) in that class. Hmm...what to talk about... I *heart* Firefly. It bothers me that I can't see my obsessions...*sigh* Period's almost over. Cheers, ~ForeverShiny

Ok as my husband and I were watching Keen Eddie( another wonderful yet cancelled show by Fox) I begin to wonder what happened to them. They used to understand that you have to give a show time to build ratings ( x-files springs to mind as an example) and now if it's not utter trash they ditch it. Sorry just ranting. Pondering smacking them:) Now pondering smacking them more. Oh well
Thursday, 08 June 2006 22:50:00
in a fit of creativity on the chat we came up with the word "Goodeled" and "goodeling" as a word for a show that is so good it was canselled.... like Firefly...

ok, this seems an odd time to be celebratin' (2 days after the end of my exams) but it's just sunk in! up until now i was still had that horrible feelin' pressin' on me like i had some obligation to do somethin' that was really boring... but this mornin' i was lyin' in bed and thought 'i wanna do some writin'' so i got up. i then realised i was gettin' up purely 'cos i wanted to, through no obligation to do anythin' at all, and i didn't have to do anythin' all day!!! that's a hell of a feelin'... also, got groovy party with all my groovy friends tonight. will be takin' my glass which can hold a whole bottle of wine =D "i've only had one glass!!" *collapses on heap on floor* this weekend i'm visitin' my sister (who's doin' law at cambridge (!!)) an' we're havin' a girly weekend, then i'm goin' back to school until the summer. today, i'm gonna do some *serious* relaxin' =D congrats to everyone else who's finished exams too, i share this lovely warm feelin' with you too. [sofi over and out] ps. went to travellor man yesterday and asked after serenity role playin' game (so i can become a REAL geek) and the guys were like 'yup, we can get that in for you, but if you want to play it properly you'll have to learn to swear in chinese...' i just grinned big and assured them i already had.

On Monday I received a phone call which went along the lines of... Me: Hi Dad: Hi, I could really do with being able to pick you up this evening. Me: But I thought you weren't coming until Saturday. Dad: Yeah... Change of plans, can you be ready in four hours? Me: (Looking around my room in dismay thinking about how hard it is to pack everything into the smallest number of boxes even when there's no time limit.) Ummm... I can try. Dad: Great, see you later. Four hours of packing later and my entire room has been condensed into 13 (not particularly neat boxes) and I'm scraping the last of the poster tack off the walls. It's taken 4 days but the last box is finally unpacked and I've got my computer up and running. I've missed you guys!

Can't believe how much detail there is in making this happen. Don't know how b!X keeps us all straight. I'm having trouble remember who I am supposed to be a courting for sponsorships. Anybody out there got a system down? I'm just using the backs of notebooks and files and trying to remember when people call whether they are browncoats or potentials. let me know -

Just a note to say that I have my tickets for the midnight show on June 23rd of 'Serenity'! I'm so glad I live in the Bay Area where so many people worked hard to make this showing happen. I know it is a fitting way to celebrate Joss' birthday: showing his film and raising money for his favority charity (which his Mother had helped to found). I am enjoying living near the ocean, and near the city. When my brother was visiting we got to tour the deYoung museum, the Japanese Tea Gardens, and even saw the wild parrots at Telegraph Hill! This is a fun place to live, which a great community of Browncoats. edited to add: I'm sorry in checking the old Whedonesque thread where Joss posted about his conntection w/Equality Now:

Hooray! The crisis I mentioned in my previous post is solved. How? Well, we'll be going to Miami on the 24th. So, that is shaping up to be a truly shiny weekend for yours truly. On a related note, are there any Boston area Browncoats who will be attending that screening and would like to meet up? Send me a message if you're so inclined... And finally, my writer's block appears to have been crushed...for now. I posted "Unwinding" the other day, and, *cough* feedback is the BEST way to make sure my writer's block STAYS crushed...

OK, so, I was trying to convert a bunch of friends. I gave the 1st disk to my friend Jen, she watched it and passed it on to Arianna. I gave Jen the 2nd disk. She was done and gave it to Arianna. Arianna finished and gave it to Liz. I gave Jen the 3rd, she gave it to Arianna, and the chain continued. Execpt no one got the 4th one 'cause my aunt has that. So I called Arianna, asking her if she had any of the disks. She said she gave the 3rd one to Liz and the first two to me. But I dont have ANY in my possession. I am freaking out. Liz must have all 3, 'cause Jen doesn't have any of them. I dont have Liz's phone number, and I'm grounded and can't run down the block to her house. Hopefully I'll see her tomorrow. My poor disks! All alone and lost and confused.... :crap:

But seriously, if there are any people who have better memory than me, and there should be about 6 billion, I stated a while back that I wanted to turn my 30 year old pinball machine into a Firefly one, with sound effects and other shiny stuff. But I realize now that I overlooked one fact: my pinball machine is 30 years old. Built before computer chips, the beast runs on a spinning drum like a player piano and is just as hard to keep in repair. As of now there are more broken parts than functional ones, and even if I get all of them fixed my 15 year old brother doesn't want to redecorate it. He thinks it has value, but if it does it's only sentimental. But do I flounder, do I give up? For a little while yes, but I've managed to find an even better machine for my idea: a 1980's Raven machine, with more lights, tracks, targets, built in speakers for digital sound effects, and (huzzah) computerized controls! Digital scoreboard and everything! And only for $550! Similar machines go for $1500. So there. Exitement still there, but my fingers have stopped shaking.

There are 13 chapters now, 14 to be out later today (6/12) or tomorrow (6/13). Lots of angst in my life right now, between my parents being assholes and losing a really good friend through my own stupid actions (I guess I finally learned about delayed satisfaction, albiet at a steep price). The characters may suffer some for it, but I promise I won't kill any of them off. ~Jimi

I just finished watching the movie Hostel with some friends. It's definitely one of the worst movies I've seen in awhile. Intriguing concept, but could have been much better done. Now that my 2nd Firefly disc has FINALLY returned from MN, I'm going to watch something from it and pass out.
Tuesday, 13 June 2006 07:53:16
Finally!!! Someone else who understands that all things Firefly are damn good. Only one of my friends is a fan, though I might have turned another:wink: I fell in love with the Firefly verse the second I heard Joss refer to the story as a sci-fi/western mix. My love affair continued once I'd seen the show. And since I discovered he created the series after reading the book The Killer Angels my heart has been lost forever.

I just finished posting my first fanmix to Livejournal. I feel so accomplished...

hi to riverdancer, cyber, followmal was speaking to a neighbour who said he'd never seen any fireflies here but when i mentioned tv he had merely a blank look! thanks for the brown coat -bit long in the sleeves but . . . self-adjusting -nice. Start of the week and with loads of work to do -i'm on this site which could be dangerous for my bank balance. Got 2 pieces of full colour and a load of b/w artwork to complete by mmmmh . . . last week? registered here late last week and have done bugger all work since -good job my studio is at home. Don't suppose it would do any good to blame you lot meaning fans collectively. Got exhibition in just over four weeks but due to domestic strife am a bit behind. GOOD THING -looking around this site restores my sanity. only problem is does it become so addictive you just gotta have a bit of FireFly -i can control it, honest . . . oh . . . getting the shakesssss -ah that's better -esspresso with enough sugar to stand a spoon up oh well, there's a colour wash with my name on it -better get painting, bye all

Today is a sad morning. My beautiful borrowed boy has been taken away. His useless piece of sh&t of a mother decided she needed to damage him even more. Long story short. The police were called by me, threats were made and finally we got a hold of his father and he came from Mississippi and took him back. It is of course a much better place for him than with the waste of oxygen that birthed him, but we are all very sad and #2 is devastated that his best friend is gone. Tonight I think I will cook #2 his favorite meal and put some movies from Netflix in. Just me and him time. Maybe, just maybe he will let mom give him a hug. It breaks my heart that he has learned in this last year that I can't fix everything. I feel very useless. Anyway, if anyone is ever in Foley and they meet a piece of crap named David or Tracy Thacker - beat the living crap out of them for me. Beat the crap out of them for #2 and mostly, beat the crap out of them for borrowed girl (who at 18 is still with me) and borrowed boy. Who called me mom and hugged me before he left. That got me.

OK, gang, I just moved all my neeeded programs to my graphics computer and hooked it it the net.. I hate having my computer that I do all my illustration work hooked to the net but gotta do what you gotta do... I will probably snag a motherboard this weekend and hope the chip is still ok...playing with ribbon cables and power supply lines within a space meant only for small fingered people is not my idea of a good time.. Still needing some of my regular email contacts to email me so's I can get your addresses back... No word on anything from anybody yet..but since Dark Horse does business by snail mail it's a bit to early to tell... Got six out of the nine portraits finished..three more to go...they'll probably be up by the end of this week...so untill next time....

Today I worked hard at nothing in the sun. I had a parasol for awile. Kaylee would have been so proud. But I sill got burned to a nice lil crisp. Like those crustaceans. Lobsters, yes. Still no browncoat. Been looking at getting some Mal-type boots. Or River style. Both good. Both favorite. Or some nice Washy ones to compliment the other Washy things I have. Still no browncoat. Bought a patch. 2010 combined forces patch. Very close to the one that Washy wears on his right sleeve in the BDM. Close as it gets. Still no browncoat. Found good boots. But very few within buyable price range. Some nearly, but not so much. Still no browncoat. I have found a grand plece for tightpants. Button-suspender variety. And suspenders to boot. No stripes though. Might have to earn those in combat. Still no browncoat. But not for lack of trying. Abby-whatsit sells a grand replica. For a grand sum. The original designer tops that. Grandly. I can't justify spending so much cashy money. Someday mebbe. Not right now. So I look for cheeper reps. Random brown suede (or not so suede) trench coats. I can forge or forage for clasps. Need to save money for Mexico mission trip. Yes. Rambling over. AgentRusco out.

Thats how much my car just cost me. OUCH! I drive a 1989 Toyota Turbo Supra. I LOVE that car. Not as much as my Mustang (wherever you are mommy loves you). But, I DO love it. I had better, she has cost me (or my parents - God Bless them)- $2400 in the last 4 months! But, I have 4 new tires, new front brakes and an aligned car. Balanced wheels. I also have gold plated spark plugs ( I sh&t you not!, when we got the bill for the tune up I said J&^us Ch*75t! Are they made of gold? and the man was like "um, yeah" LOL!) and new head gaskets. She should, Please God!, be good for another 100,000 miles. Borrowed boy is well. We have spoken to him several times. He and #2 are planning extended "sleep overs". #1, #2 and borrowed girl are driving over on Sunday. Apparently the Dad has a car for borrowed girl, so she can see her brother and get her ride. I am very proud of #1. He worries so about #2 and always goes out of his way to ensure that #2 is ok with his life. #1 is a beautiful, brilliant boy (as is #2). They make me so proud. We have had an eventful week. On Saturday #2, borrowed girl, other borrowed girl and myself cleaned condos. 23 condos! #2 and I personally cleaned 9 and then we helped with another 7. I type this with a cast on one hand (my joints are still swollen and we suspect a stress fracture in one wrist). Borrowed girl does this everyday now! No wonder she is always so freakin tired! May I please ask that you consider the housekeeping when you stay in hotels and such. Most of the rooms were quite reasonable. This one room has EVERY DISH in the entire condo in the sink, WITH food on and the sinks full of water. These sinks had no garbage disposal! These people did not do 1 dish the entire stay! And this was a family! It was really disgusting. Took 3 loads in the dishwasher as well as handwashing to clean them all. I am working 3 jobs now. No court date until 4 August. One hopes that the judge is a rational, sentient being. I am worried the ex-FMF will get away with no spousal support. I don;t believe that one should automatically get alimony, but when one has been married almost 20 years and ones spouse (though mutual agreement) stays home with the kids most of that time and has no retirement fund - I think there is a certain responsibility to that spouse. Lets hope the judge agrees, cause I can't keep up the 3 job thing much longer. Took borrowed girls cat in to get "fixed" and declawed. Yes, I know there are those out there that disagree with the procedure. If I had outdoor cats (and let me just say that I am not particularly a cat person - though we now have 3) I would never dream of it. But I live in the middle of town and outdoor cats become splat cats. I also have some very lovely furniture, made in Ireland, that I am very attached to. I can not replace them here and if I could it would run to the thousands (I bought them in the UK when I had a real job and made real money) So, declawed is were it is at. I have not heard from Personals man. Or the other personals man. I must really be as boring as I think I am. Could someone please go get Nathan for me? Thanks to all who offer encouragement! Your thoughts mean a lot to me. It is nice to know that there is someone out there that gives a damn!

Thank you so very much for my super shiny online birthday party! As I spent most of the day curled in a little ball sicker than all heck. It is so lovely to know that there are amazing people in every coner of this crazy planet. All the love in the 'verse COPILIOT

New and hopefully not too late Browncoat. The Serenity Day being this June 23, however, makes me feel like there's still some time to do some good. I don't know if we can bring back Firefly, but I know we won't if we do nothing. At least at the end of the day you can know not that you tried, but you gave it your all and bled brown. It doesn't matter to me the impact I'm making or not making. At least I'm not sitting uselessly on the sidelines. Firefly was introduced to me too late to save it while it was on the air. But I'll be damned if I let it go quietly into the night.
Wednesday, 14 June 2006 17:39:56
So, last night I had some trouble with my laptop. Some log in screen I'd never seen. So I called the IT number. Turns out they were doing maintenance... til 6 am! So, just offhand, I said "well, I guess I'll just watch my Firefly DVDs again!" She says"have you seen the movie?!" Well there ya go. She hadn't looked at any of the sites, so of course I recommended the best! She was on the site immediately! Can I count this as a conversion?

I see all these cool photobucket firefly icons around here. I went on www.photobucket.com and everytime I try to copy and paste the IMG in here, it comes up saying that the icon has been deleted from photobucket. Can anybody help me??

Strangeness with the website today. I just posted Part II. Part III is done and ready for posting, but now the site won't let me submit (error 500 or somesuch fey-oo). Therefore, I have decided to try another day, and by that time, Part IV will probably be done. Thanks, and keep reading!

Ok, been a few days since my last blog. Been busy lately, mostly with being sick. It all started a few days ago when I went to work, had caught a cold from a friend and spending four hours in a cold damp warehouse didnt do it no good. Also the lack of sleep (nightshift) helped to aggrivate the whole thing. Went to my parents that day to celebrate my little brother who graduated, went out afterwards and took more then my fare share of beers. Next day I woke up with a fever, didnt do much that day. Went home again the day after and went to two parties (a friends graduation and another friends goodbye party since he is moveing) got drunk again and woke up feeling like crap (mostly from disease and not so much hangover). Been a few more days now and my system is still all fucked up and now im going to work today again and ill probebly get worse. =/ Oh well, atleast ive got my firefly ;)

I'm currently working on my newest fanmix 'Past Tenses', which are basically describing the BDHs before the series. I'm stuck on Simon and River though. I want to find a song for Simon about wanting to break River out and I'm kinda want to change River's song. It's currently 'Everything Is Alright' by Motion City Soundtrack. Basically, I'm looking for a song about slipping into Insanity. So...any suggestions? EDIT: Never Mind about River. I'm switching her song to 'Meds' by Placebo. I still need a song for Simon though. Anyone? Anyone?

Well everyone, my Grandma is doing better but she is still not out of the woods yet. I took five days off from work to have a mini-vaction and get some things done at my Grandma's house. The time off did me good. I have an change to go to another city and work but I really do not know if that is what I want to do. I will see how things go at work when I return. This may make up my mind for me. The adoption is going great, we only need one form to finish it up. And off to China we go. Will it late where I at and I have to get some sleep before work.

Thank you, dear and fluffy Lord. I have finally finished my geography coursework, after 2 whooooole months of no life, pain, torture, and less time to spend on FFF (clearly the worst part). I now have mork time to work on a little fanfic and a series of images I'm planning - watch this space. On a side note: there was a he-uge cat fight out side my maths room, last lesson today. On the maths corridor in school, there are the outside windows on one side of the corriodor, and the classroom windows on the other side. Anyway. Don't know how, why, or what it was about (dont paln to get involved - always the best course of action), but these 2 girls attacked this other one, slammed her into the outside window and actually cracked it, and then turned her round and slammed her into the classroom window that I was sitting under, and I honestly thought she was going to come straight through it, scared the life out of me. Everyone ran over to the windows, and was laughing, but I was like: its not funny, she could have easily smashed her head open. Really, some people. Just a little drama and gossip for you. Anyway, off to watch Third Watch, a show I love almost as much as Firefly, which arrived last friday, but my mum wouldn't let me watch until I'd finished my geograpy. She called it motivation, but I called it cruelty

Mission Statement For those of you who are not familiar with our project, Still Flying is a fan-based site dedicated to a "virtual continuation" of Joss Whedon's "Firefly" in the form of scripts of additional episodes. We've rounded out Season One, completing it with seven new episodes (including a season finale based on "Serenity: Those Left Behind" from Dark Horse Comics). Season Two is dedicated to exploring the question, "What would things have been like if Joss Whedon had been able to tell the story of Serenity in 22 episodes rather than 2 hours?" Our story will take you to most of the same places the movie does, but the path along the way will be a little different, and a lot longer. We'll see some old friends and more than a few old enemies. We can't promise that we'll entertain you as much as Mister Whedon would have, but you should know that this project has been put together by those who care about the show, and we're taking this bird up out of love. Like most Browncoats, we know that Whedon will return to us with another movie, book, or some other way to continue the tale he started in "Firefly." Until that time, we'll be here. We will hold the line. We can't show you exactly how Joss Whedon would've done it, but we can tell you... "Here's how it might have been..." Keep looking out for new episodes and new site updates at www.stillflying.net

Are "we" improving (ha) this site? I keep getting evil error messages in the "chat" room, and kicking my computer didn't help...ouchie.
Friday, 16 June 2006 23:42:42
so my dad was supposed to wake me up early this morning, for one reason or another. anyway, he wakes me up, i go back to sleep, he wakes me up i go back to sleep etc. so finally he comes into my room and says "hey, did you use me email address to send an email to some guy named joss whedon?" ///// so of course im sprinting to the computer before my still-asleep brain registers that a)my dad knows perfectly well who joss whedon is b)no, actually, i didnt, so then c)....ohhhhh thats just mean. i was less then amused. so yeah, my fandom was used to get me out of bed.
Saturday, 17 June 2006 05:57:22
I made a chatroom for folks to use until this site gets up and working again. It's not much, but it helps to ease the withdrawal a little:
Saturday, 17 June 2006 15:25:06
Boring, boring, boring. I've been doing close to nothing these days. Bought myself a new notebook computer, so there's a perk. Had to bust my chops to get it, too. I miss the crowd. I'm never able to chat much anymore. The fanfic is fading away cause in all honesty, I don't think people like to read it. Oh, well. Lesse, something good, something good... ... Nope, nothing right now. Anywho, I hope you all are doing well and I wish you all the best. (I've done what I can for the Browncoat Unification Day, and I hope that the rest of you succeed! Good luck everyone!)

Just bought my inter-island flights for when I'm in Hawaii. Ordered a couple of things I need for farming from REI and I'm having them shipped to the store in California. I leave for California in a week and from there I head to Hawaii on July 6. 2 months of fun in the sun!! Can't wait!

Hey I am going with my family to Lake Powell and maybe ( I hope ) my husband is going too. So I am asking a friend to order the 3 copies of Serenity on 23rd for me and I am sorry I will miss the BDM, but this is the last family trip we will probably get for a while all together as my sister and brother in law leave for med school in August....long sotry short ( too late, I know) I won't be here for those says, but hopefully I will be able to get in and all in the next few days before I go
Monday, 19 June 2006 13:20:12
At last! After a month of stress, culminating in 4 back-to-back exams last week I'm finally free! If only the stress ended there :P I go to pick up my results this Friday. Seems a bit odd to me that they'd mark them that fast, the last exam being the previous fFriday O_o, but hey I guess those lecturers have nothing better to do ;) Anywho, I now have to keep my self occupied for 3 whole months until my 3rd year starts :D and try not to think about the 3rd year exams when all this will start over agan. I've not seen a FF episode for two whole weeks, I knew if I watched one I'd want to watch more and not get anything done, so I'm going to have to go make up for the time I've missed >:)
Monday, 19 June 2006 17:08:51
Trying to fix the multiple fanfic posts. And I thought I was being so careful so that wouldn't happen! I'm so embarrassed!

Contrary to popular belief (and despite some peoples' best efforts) I am still not dead. I've just been enjoying my vacation. I've been in the Carribean since school got out, and I just got back. Unfortunately, I leave for camp on Sunday, and I don't get back til August. I might get something done for y'all to remember me by, but maybe not. ~WG out

Hey, cos of the daft site trouble, I've a few wee fics that I've submitted that haven't got a bit of attention. And well, I revel in such things. So, be so kind and trot to my profile and read them things. That is, only if you so desire. I don't really wanta be pushy. So do it. Now. Oh, and in other news: I've suceeded in making a new convert. Woot. Oh yeah, and review my stuff... please?
Wednesday, 21 June 2006 12:18:28
We have sold out all of the tickets for the Raleigh SERENITY NOW/EQUALITY NOW event! Unfortunately, we can't expand into a bigger theater, as we're already in the venue's largest theater (seats 200), and they only have one other theater, which is being used for another movie. I've got a growing waiting list for people who want tickets, but I haven't had any cancellations... Maybe next year (yes, I hope there's a next year!) we can get the venue to give us the entire theater! Or maybe do it TWO nights!

I know that people've been working really hard to get the site up and running again. The thing that frustrates me is twofold: One, we had no warning. Our favorite hang-out just went black. I'd think it was a conspiracy, but probably it was just the fei-oo computers. Two, I have posted my most recent chapter of my fanfic, and somehow ended up posting it twice. Not only can I not get into it to see people's response, but I can't "correct" the double-posting. If anyone can read this, it was NOT intentional! Just read one- they are the same thing. I am going to try and post my fic on fanfiction.net and other venues because, quite frankly, this site does me no good if I can't get in. I'll be checking in to see if the site is FINALLY working, but in the meantime I'm not holding my breath. Thanks to all who HAVE read my fic and commented. I appreciate you telling me your side of my story!

OK. I am done. I keep trying to hang on, and I keep trying to be positive and everytime I start to feel normal, and like things will be ok - I get kicked in the teeth again. I have to go to court today in reference to #2. The child with Reactive Airway disease, Allergic Asthma and a birth defect that means his chest cavity is too small for his heart. Apparently the school board feels his absences are excessive so now I have to go to court. Yeah he missed 22 days. 5 days for a funeral. 1 day to get his learners permit and see a doctor for a surgical referal and 16 days for being so sick he couldn't out of bed. So yeah that's lovely. Then if that wasn't enough HIMSELF called to announce that we needed to "sit down and settle this thing" what he meant by that was he isn't willing to give me anything and wants me to sign the papers. He tells me that he is not paying my parents back for the truck and that we can take it out of the equity in the house. Now, there IS NO equity in the house and if there were we would have to sell it to get it. Or I would have to take out a loan to get it. Either way, I am out of a place to live, or paying more out of my pocket. I am now so behind on my house payment that I will lose it anyway. I have until 1 July to come up with 1200 additional dollars. Or I will be escorted off of my own property by the Sherrifs. I have no way of getting this money. That is unless of course I get a hold of my life insurance policy payout. Well not me, but the boys. I probably won't be posting anymore. Love to all.

Hey all, Not only am I psyched for Serenity Day tomorrow (Yipee Browncoats! lol) but to gear myself up for it, this week I've been having a marathon week, which is really good to have now and then. So, as I'm watching "The Message," it came to me that Richard Burgi (Womack) was in the sci-fi channel movie "Darklight," which, apart from David Hewlett *hearts* and John De Lancie, absolutely sucked. Now, I'm asking myself as to why Mr. Burgi was a good actor in The Message, but horrible in the movie. Kinda like why Natalie Portman was horrible in the Star Wars movies, but awesome in a lot of other things. Also, why can't Simon just give up all his aires and tell Kaylee what he really means. It jsut bothers me. But, oh, well...i've got the BDM to keep me happy on that bit. Stay shiny and keep flyin y'all, ~ForeverShiny :smokin:

I hope the site stays up because tomorrow I want to buy my Firefly & Serenity DVDs through the links here so that Haken gets the kick back from Amazon! I am so grateful to all the hard work to keep this, my favorite site, up and running.

My muses came back last night! I'm currently working on a fic for 'I Slept With Someone In Fall Out Boy and All I Got Was This Stupid Song Written About Me'(it's a dream!fic so it's a little twisted in language), going to work on ones for 'I've Got A Dark Alley And A Bad Idea That Says You Should Shut Your Mouth'(another dream!fic but more slow paced than the previous one I mentioned) and 'Sophmore Slump Or Comeback Of The Year'(probably going to be Mal/Inara from River's POV again, but lighter). So when I'm done with those, I'll only have three songs left to write about on From Under The Cork Tree. Yay! I'm waiting to hear back about the D*C parade because I'm going to see if I can be in the SEBC group. That way I can wear both my Kaylee Costume and my Vampirehunter!Andy Hurley costume. Ask if you wanna see my Kaylee costume. I might post it in the Blue Sun Room. :)

So - I am driving home from meeting with the county board (they excused #2 so he is off the hook) and I am feeling ok. Crisis averted. It was hot and I have no ac - and my heart starts racing - more than 149 beats a minute is NOT normal. Then I started having chest pain, numbness in my left arm and jaw pain. So I start thinking - so this is a heart attack - anyway, I went to the ER with #2 who called my mommy (LOL). After several EKG's, many shots of crap in my stomach and several hours they admit me. I had a stress test echosonogram and I am happy to report that my heart is as fit as a 20 year old. So, anyway. They sent me home and suggested that I get rid of some of the stressors in my life. TOO Funny - second job has let me go because I have been out due to sickness "too much". breathe in....breathe out......breathe in....breathe out.... Thanks to you well wishers and prayer makers! :)

So the site works on every computer EXCEPT my home one now. I find that odd, but I'm not too overly concerned. I'm probably packing my computer up tonight anyway and I'll be cut off from the internet until August 24th. I'll find time to update my livejournal, photos, and myspace blog, but no serious online time anymore. Boo. And Happy Serenity Day.
Friday, 23 June 2006 20:53:35

So happy Serenity Day to all. Too bad I live in the boonies and couldn't get to a screening. Oh yeh, and I also had to work. Anyhow. I'm ever-so-glad that the site is up and running once more. Now I can post and crud. Hey, please check out my fics. Some slipped by without reviews and are languishing in misery. I've been asked (way more times than once) to write longer stuff. And I'd so love to. But y'see, I am simply unable. I cannot pull through endings. I'm not good at developing a strong plotline. So I do glimpses. I flesh out brief moments. It works out for me. Now, I'd love to write longer. I'd really, really love that. I could blame my lack on the imaginary creature I call my muse. But, let's face it. It's my problem. I hope that majoring in English will help me out in this area. I love to write and wanna keep it up indefinately. So... If anyone wants to partner with me. I'd love ideas and stuff for fanfics. Cheers, Languishing AgentRusco

I was checking out Buzznet today when and looked at the Decaydancephoto gallery and noticed that my picture was up there. Check it out...
Saturday, 24 June 2006 16:24:38
Well, Serenity Day was a success with the DVD shooting up to #2 on the amazon.com charts. The NYC Equality Now! Screening was a blast and it sounds like Browncoats across the country raised a lot of cashy money for the charity. So that's epic and wonderful. Yep. That went well. And in six days I leave for the Army. It's been a busy month. Good day.
Saturday, 24 June 2006 18:07:53
I was bored for the last few days (what with FFF.net acting up). So, I found myself writind down random words, trying to come up with an idea for short story I could write. And, I found myself thinking that "Hey, this word works for SO-n-So, and this one for whatsherface..." and so on. And, I was wonderin', what do ya'll think? If ya decide to answer, write something like this- Jayne-Primal or, Mal-Stuborn. Y'know, someat like that! Oh, and feel free to put down more than one character, if ya please. Shiny!

Ok here I am June 24 second day of my vacation( June 23 was the first)After working around the house yesterday and part of today I've decided to take the rest of the day posting with my browncoat friends. Seems as if the weekend is going pretty well for everyone and "Serenity Day" went off with a big bang. My congrads to all who've worked so hard. I've still got some small things to do so I'll be hitting the FFF site off/on the rest of the weekend.Haken worked very hard and my hat is off to him. these are just some thoughts for today. I'm looking forward to the return of everyone to the FFFan forum and it will be great to see some new faces (along the my old browncoat buddies) Until next blog stay safe,Z
Saturday, 24 June 2006 19:05:19
Does anyone know where we could find some sales numbers for yesterday? I'm really curious.
Saturday, 24 June 2006 21:21:14

In February, I bought the complete series of Firefly on DVD for sixy fricking bucks in Best Buy. Today, I walked into Wal-Mart, and guess what they had for twenty-five bucks? :bash: I think the Alliance runs Best Buy.
Sunday, 25 June 2006 02:22:02
:finger::blast::bash::knife::vomit::hanged: It seems that I really hit a nerve with some one here. I posted the names of the SPAMMERS that were causing problems here on this site. I got censored, and the SPAMMERS continue to SPAM. So Iam now faced with a tough descision,"TO BE OR NOT TO BE". Ive asked politely and Ive threatened. It seems I now have to take extreme action. The rashes will now start. Then severe :vomit:ing. Your  will swell, and cause choking. :finger: yourself.

...wow, i just realized how many of my blogs start w/ "just". i guess i mostly tell stuff that just happened. anyway. It was awesome (im talking about the madison 24th screening), a nice little setup, all kinds of pre-movie stuff going on, (mal's song, 'done the imposible' preview etc), a raffle which i just found hte winning ticket for in my coat pocket, if only i'd found it about 2 1/2 hrs ago. oh well, im telling myself it isnt the right one after all and my memory is going. maybe so. 'twas a littel surprised to see that besides myself, there was only one 'coat w/ a jayne hat. anyway, had a nice little chat w/ him, his hat was lookin' very cunning. i ordered a shirt but the shipment got messed w/ so she was gonna give it to me wednseday, but then there were extras so i got it today anyway:) she (im refering here to teh woman in charge; forgot her name a little, im not so good with names) was quite nice (we 'coats are in general, doncha know ;) ) so yeah, it was quite succesful. still waitin' to see how much cashy money we brought in.

Hello everyone, it is I, tired but insanely happy. Last night has got to be the best experience at a movie theater I've ever had. I went to the Laemmle One Colorado Theater at 10:00 to go see Serenity and hopefully win some shiny swag. I got more than I ever dreamed for because I didn't realize how many people were actually going to be there! It was truly an awesome experience to see so many browncoats and for people to get all of my insider jokes. I even met little_ewok there and also MAGaffer. Both of them ha`ve got to be the coolest people I've ever met. Oh, and Little_Ewoks Mom too.(Sorry if I didn't spell them right.0 Our theater made over $4000 dollARS AND we got a news van come try to make a story, sadly there was no publicity for Little Firefly. I have to say it was truly the best browncoat congragatin of my life. Hope to do it again next year! (By the way glad to know some people on this web-site are not 40-year old bald men pretending to be browncoat high-school girls)
Sunday, 25 June 2006 04:38:12
After fanfic and costuming, it was only a matter of time. ;) Here are my first five fanvids, four archived and one on Megaupload. (The archived ones are zipped, so if you don't have WinZip or a similar program, leave a comment and I'll figure something else out.) Actually, please leave a comment anyway. ;) Heaven Is a Better Place Today (Wash)

I've actually had an idea in my head for awhile now. Just need to know if anyone else is interested. It's set after the BDM and is basically this: River runs into a fellow 'student' from the academy that managed to escape. About as close to a boyfriend as she ever got. After some fight sequences and general mayhem, they meet back up, and the crew gets to know him. He's managed to figure out how to control the power, and offers to help teach River what she needs to know. A few other things invloving his sister, the academy, the other students, and another operative. Can't really go into detail, as it'll ruin some key moments. Let me know what you think. No promises though, as I've never written a fanfic before.

Damn, I am supposed to be revising for a Science Exam on tuesaday, but I discovered the site was working again, and kind of got stuck. Actually, I discovered yesterday, and I added it to the list of good things that happened, along with: went to see my grandparents and got my hair cut, although the site working again was at the top.
Sunday, 25 June 2006 15:40:23
Captain Bryan has givin me permission to use his computer. I have talked to some of you already and I like this place. I have read some of the fanfiction and I love it. If you wish to e-mail me it will go through the Captian's e-mail first so make sure you put my name in there so he can save it for me. I look forward to meeting yall.
Sunday, 25 June 2006 17:45:20
So cool--as obvious as that sounds. It was almost better than seeing it in theaters the first time around, cause the Palace had a better sound system. Very very shiny. I didn't get to ask when I was there--did any (if so, how many) Browncoats went to the Palace Theater screening? Life is good. ~ForeverShiny :smokin:
Sunday, 25 June 2006 20:58:58
Captains log stardate...er...now. kind of here ish... anyway. Firefly second time around? (i've lent it out a lot and finally got to seeing it again.)Its still good. A work of art yes. Is it possibly the best sci fi ever (after seeing most of DW s2 defently YES!!!). And i yearn for more. Even a mini series would be nice (and a little Firefly class statue. with added crew love) I love this verse. I love the writing. I love the design and i love the community. Star Trek hads to wait 10 years. Us Browncoats? only two. or three, depends on the timing  Go on Hollywood: say we scare you. :naughty:
Monday, 26 June 2006 07:56:39
This is a question that perplexes me. Zoe fought with the Browncoats. She still identifies with them just as Mal does. Why doesn't she wear a shiny suede coat like him? Did he get it cos he was an officer? Wait, he wasn't really an officer. So why's he have and wear one, while she does not? Did she lose hers? Was it ruined in some battle? Why don't we see either of them wearing browncoats in any of the flashback battle scenes? I feel a fanfic idea coming... Yes, yes. Lesse now...
Monday, 26 June 2006 16:03:44
Isn't this nice...to be able to post at will and talk to everyone. Again I must say, thanks Haken we appreciate everything you do:) On another note...one month till my firefly tatoo:)
Tuesday, 27 June 2006 00:25:19
For those that may have missed it, last night I posted "Dream On," chapter 29 of what is now called the Motivation series. Why did I just bother to add a title to it now? Because the danged thing is just about over. One final chapter to go. Relax, there's more where it came from. A LOT more. My next, still untitled series will be starting soon...ish. Simon and Kaylee will still be the main focus, and there will still be PLENTY of smut, but you can also expect to see more of the rest of the crew, as well as a few new faces. Not to mention there will be plot. Really, I can write plot, I swear. SO glad to have the site (mostly) back. The Boston Serenity Now screening was the most fun I've had in a while, I seriously can't wait for next year. It was sold out, despite NO publicity of any kind. :disappointed: This stupid state...but still, sold out! Way to go, Boston area Browncoats!
Tuesday, 27 June 2006 01:25:54
not that i have a problem with how obsessed i am, its just a little disturbing when i'm writing thank-you's for birthday presents, and i decide to write a generic one and work from that, and hte generic one goes, "Dear so-and-so, Thank you so much! I love the _____ because _________. It’s so great when people ask about my _________ and I get to tell people all about firefly and serenity." honestly, i dont think i got a single non-serenity/ff related thing. (not complaining, mind you)
Tuesday, 27 June 2006 02:24:31

I have finally decided to write a blog..... Ok so not so interesting, i just blew $200 on not much which is over 4 weeks of my pay which i was going to spend on the buffy complete serise box set but no my real love is what i spent my hard earned cashey money on. I bought so much firefly and serenity things my friends thought i had completely lost my mind. Its only money i told them, the root of all evil the thing most men kill and die for, destroy thousands of lives over a little bit of shiny stuff, ridiculas aint it ~ Especially when it is one of the factors that is holding back our beloved serenity sequal from occuring. Wow i do go off on a tangent. imagine tha....

The cantstoptheserenity.com shindig I coordinated in Raleigh (with the help of many Big Damn Heroes!) raised $1,740 for Equality Now. Our 200-seat theater was sold out, we gave away many shiny door prizes, had a costume contest, and a raffle! I can't say "THANK YOU" often enough to everyone who donated, contributed, volunteered and showed up!! See our list of sponsors, volunteers, photos and more at:

So I finally started writing my fanfic. It's going to be in chapters, as it's going to be quite long. But I would like some help to make sure that I'm not posting something completely stupid, and to make sure that everything goes alright. Basically looking for someone to help spread the shiny. Any volunteers?

Just a quick note to everyone who has been reading and responding to my latest series - "A New Life" *** THANK YOU! *** I cannot express how exciting it is for me to get such amazing and positive feedback from all of you! And just so you know - while I have been touting the 350 page sequel - titled "A New Beginning" - there will also be some interim stories surrounding Simon and Kaylee and the rest of the BDHs .... as well as, a third part which I have just begun to write ... It's true - I am a huge fan of trilogies. Thanks again to all and to Leiasky for being such a great beta and a great friend! ~TamSibling~

To be honest i've been back on-line for three weeks. Just had trouble with accessing this site. I have been busy writing the last two months, unfortunately I write better long-hand so little is on the computer. The good news is that I have about 100 pages of rough draft stories stretching out from 'The Recovery' to 'The Recovery - Letters To Rill' with 'The Recovery Coda', taking place approximately One year after BDM. One story i'm having fun writing is one i'm calling 'The Psychics New Clothes'. I've also been working on Jake 2.0 fanfiction. With about 180 pages writen in the rough. Hopefully i'll be posting by this time next week. Before I forget, I am looking for a good beta. So if anybody's interested... See ya soon. Zucht

Just thought I'd put this here, say thank you to everyone who has read and reviewed me. If anyone wants any explanations as to where any weirdness comes from, please contact me. I was especially pleased with my Trekkie style puns in AG AP but no-one flamed me for them. Maybe it's only me that finds that sort of thing funny, I dunno. Now decisions, decisions - crackfic, cobbfic or crossover to follow up... Sometimes all the little voices come at once. Seriously, folks, which one shouts loudest for you?
Wednesday, 28 June 2006 20:17:42

I've not logged into this site for age, all i've done is brows. Then today i was listening to music and i Introduced some people to firefly (it was my browncoat duty) and they are now thinking about buying the DvDs. So I found a Shiny site like oh three days ago (still-flying.net) and saw the shiny pics from the show... Then i had to mess with them, you know add text, make them brighter or darker. I posted them on my myspce, then i came on here today and i saw Kaynara's new chapter and read it. It left me so, I don't even know what this is, i supose i feel a bit like i'm floating and like i just had alot of coffee. And i loved it, so I posted my pics here. Wow i just read what i wrote and i sound like i'm bouncing about hehehe. Oh well hope you all like the pic/ icon thingys, I have more if you like them. They are not like super shiny since i only have paint and word to work with but they look nice. So yeah please if any one reads this go take alook and comment... ok well thanks for your time folks, i'm going to go to bed or something. Oh by they way if Kaynara read this... Great Job! I'm still spinning about from reading your fic, please post the next part soon!

For those of you who have been reading my fanfic, thank you! I appreciate your comments and enjoy reading them almost as much as writing my 'verse. Since I've been posting weekly, give or take a day, I'd just like to let everyone know that I'm taking July 4th off and having a vacation. Desperate Times will return on the 10th. Things are about to get "interesting"*. * "oh, god, oh god, we're all gonna die?"

I have one sister, 4 years younger than me (well, 3 1/2) And sometimes, I wonder how we even came from the same genepool. We are completly different in almost every aspect, and so we fight like cat and dog (lots). We even look completely different. I am skinny, with straight blonde hair, and she is solidly built with afro-curly dark brown hair. (although she is the same height as me). New people have no idea we are full sisters, and when we tell them, they mostly think we are joking. But I think the thing that separates us the most, is that she is completely and utterly anti-browncoat, and anti-Firefly. As I right this, she is watching millions of episodes of Friends for the hudredth time, (yes, they were funny the first time, but not when you've been subjected to them as many times as I have). She leaves the room when I put the DVD in, and practicaly attacks me every time I work a quote into the conversation. I am working on her though,so far she has the Ballad of Serenity on her MP3 and has watch War Stories all the way through, and one day, maybe, just maybe, she too will call herself a browncoat. That will be a happy day.
Thursday, 29 June 2006 19:45:30
Lots of folks can SAY they like watching Firefly or Serenity, but you know you've made a real convert when they're ready to plunk down their own hard-earned cash-y money and they announce (after watching "The Message"): "I'm going out to buy the Firefly DVD set and the Serenity movie for myself." cuz til then, they've been coming over to your house for a week straight to watch 'em on your PC. That makes 3 confirmed Browncoat converts in less than a month. [does the "Gorram Ruttin' Shiny" dance -- you're lucky there's no video.]

My mommy has come to the rescue once again. This is of course very depressing. Everytime I have to ask her for money I feel diminished. Someone is playing my most favorite piece of music in the whole world - Pachelbel's Canon in D. It usually is so soothing, but today the beauty is just making me weepy. You all must be so sick of my depressing self. I know I am. I want to go home and go to bed, but I must go to the 2nd job tonight. I am just getting more and more resentful of the need for more than one job and that adds to the stress. My heartrate is steady at about 130 beats a minute, which takes a lot of energy let me tell you! BTW - drove by Ex's house because it amuses us to do so. He has a brand new car in the drive. Must be nice.

Hello everyone, just finally posting my home-made hovercraft which I nicknamed the Mule. This would be me, riding on it.
Friday, 30 June 2006 13:33:56
Ok, so the first chapter of my story is done. The series is going to be called "Children of the Academy." As soon as I get the approval from my beta-testers, I'll share "The Chance Meeting" with the rest of the world. We'll see where it goes from there. If everyone hates it, then that'll be it. Hopefully, enough of you will accept and love it so I can make more, as I'm enjoying the story and can't wait to see where it goes (even if I have a pretty good idea).
Friday, 30 June 2006 14:52:10
Well my peeps - I was going to log in and tell you how my mommy and me were seeing my lawyer at noon today and that hopefully he would give me hope. But the gorram man has called to reschedule me AGAIN! So now I have no appointment, no money driving in to town to meet me and feed me. No lunch and no money for lunch. Does anyone know what a nervous breakdown feels like? I think I might be having one. Heartrate today is 120-130. I have a pain in my chest and that feeling in the pit of my stomach that just won't go away. Add to all that the desire to kill anything and everything in my path. A really short temper and a headache from hell. I need a massage.
Friday, 30 June 2006 19:50:21

prom last night! the sixth year of biggar high descended upon an unsuspecting bothwell bridge hotel in hamilton. they let everyone order alcohol from the bar, no I.D. required... very trusting... still, no one got steaming out their heads and we all went back on the bus without anyone throwing up... surprisingly low key. but then, our last day in school involved only a barbeque in the school garden and a water fight in the bus bay... in contrast to previous years. and not even a crap DJ! they gave us request slips and we all named the songs we wanted to hear - yourpartynight.co.uk if anyone's wondering! goz drinking a cocktail he called "antifreeze", mikey and ross posing with their bottles of magners and the entire year shouting (cant really call it singing) along to "flower of scotland", jumping and swaying on the dance floor along with it. so much fun. then i drove back with stewart to his house. yes, just me. to watch "just friends" (how appropriate) and eat pizza. we hit 80 mph on the symington road since it was half one in the morning and utterly deserted - hee hee. he convinced me to flick my lights off for a second to see what it was like - freaky... fell asleep on a stupid two seater sofa that didn't fit me at all, yet was weirdly comfortable. (bastard didn't even offer me his bed - he wasn't sleeping in it, he was on the fold out) got woken up several times - stewart snoring, stewart's phone, stewart's cat sniffing my arm with its freezing nose! got up at half twelve in the afternoon - see, i'm a student already. and scarily, i allowed stewart to have a shot of my car along the little single track short cut behind his house. i must be going insane... kiz xox
