Rating: NC-17. Run away kiddies!

Disclaimer: I just play with the shiny toys.

Comments: 1). PWP, there’s not even a semblance of plot here. Don’t be lookin’ for one. Sweet, hard and fast, just like we like it.

2). So, while writing the teeth rotting sweetness that is Whisky Bears 2, Kaylee got real frustrated and antsy, sat me down and told me a thing or two. Hence this fic. It's not my fault. She's just insatiable.

The thing about Jayne was that he was everywhere.

Kaylee didn't even notice it at first. He was a big man and Serenity was a fairly small ship, he was bound to stand out. It just, well, it just seemed that everywhere she turned he was there. Lifting weights in the cargo bay, cleaning his knives at the kitchen table, up on the bridge when she had to maintain the engines there.

He was everywhere and she didn't even really pay it any attention, until the day that he wasn't.

Sure, a man had every right to spend some time off ship, planet side. Everyone had to do it now and again or they'd all go wooly. It was just, well, Jayne was so big he seemed to fill the ship and it was all empty without him when he was gone for days.

So Kaylee began to take notice when he was there again.

***

The thing about Jayne was that he had a dirty mind.

That particular piece of information didn't exactly surprise her, hell, she would have been shocked to find out if he didn't. It's just that, now she was watching him more, Kaylee found out that her mind was just as filthy.

There they'd all be, sitting around the table, laughing and talking and having just a grand old time, when someone would say a perfectly innocent comment. And Kaylee's snap quick brain would turn it around to a meaning that would make Jayne blush. When she looked over, there'd be a glint in his eye that she'd never noticed before.

She couldn't help it when they started laughing together and no one else sa

I liked this one, especially as you explain Jayne's policy of "never kissing on the mouth" with expliciting explaining it. mmmmm.

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Omg, that was fantastic!

I love this progression between them. It's very believable. And Jayne...you have him down so absolutely perfect. With wanting to play games, and teasing and damn it, the boy loves the chase just as much as the catching.

And Kaylee. You did wonderful with her, it's so easy to make her just an empty vessel of Lust-After-Jayne, but this was very much her. Her curiosity, her lust for life, it's all very real.

Yay for you!

A body can't never have enough Jaylee. Especially good Jaylee, and this was better than good, this was downright shiny!

You described this as a PWP, but there's a nice little romantic progression going on throughtout. I think that counts as a plot. ;P

See, this is a prime example of the kind of story I could never write, just kind of simmering in sexuality like that. Reason number 2 to hate you.

By the way, I love this line: "Slowly, oh so slowly she could have wept with it"

The thing about Jacqui is that she writes the best ruttin' Jaylee in the 'verse. This thing reads like a love ballad. A hot, hard, sexifying heavy metal song that sings to me like nobody's business.

There's a reason I wanted you to be my beta when I first started writing fanfic around Halloween this year. And "The Thing About Jayne" is exhibit A.

Fave line (crazy hard to choose in a fic rife with faves): "...give her a half hooded gaze over dinner that sent her all fizzing,.." Picked that one 'cause I wanted him to look at me like that. Hell, FELT him look at me like that when I read it.

Now, where's my gorram husband...
