SECONDRATE:
The First Amendment argument: This is the reddest herring of all.
consider this scenario: A president, clad in full Ku Klux Klan regalia, summons cameras to the Oval Office, newly bedecked in swastikas, to announce that he believes the Constitution is a joke and that he will no longer follow it. Is his ability to make these outrageous statements or display the Nazi emblem fully protected by the First Amendment? Yes. Would it be entirely within Congress’s prerogative — indeed, its duty — to impeach him for it? You bet.
An interesting what if, but entirely fictitious.
In your proposed scenario, the President disavows allegiance to the Constitution, which he has sworn to defend.
But that's not what Trump did.
So, what did Trump NOT do?
He didn't call for violence, in fact he called for peace.
He didn't tell anyone to "get" Pence.
He didn't tell anyone to break the law, as I recall he told people to "cheer"
He didn't disavow the Constitution.
He didn't pledge allegiance to any other nation, or provide "aid and comfort to the enemy", unless you want to call people who disagree with the election process "enemies"?
Where is the impeachable offense, except in SECONDRATE'S imaginary scenario?
So what is this show trial all about, other than being a media circus?

Trumptards can't, with a probability of more than 90%, reliably tell right from wrong. When Trumptards do happen to identify what is right, they can't help doing wrong when there is a small advantage for themselves.

How Republican senators explained their votes to convict
Senator Richard Burr of North Carolina: "The President promoted unfounded conspiracy theories to cast doubt on the integrity of a free and fair election because he did not like the results. As Congress met to certify the election results, the President directed his supporters to go to the Capitol to disrupt the lawful proceedings required by the Constitution. When the crowd became violent, the President used his office to first inflame the situation instead of immediately calling for an end to the assault."
He went on to say, "As I said on January 6th, the President bears responsibility for these tragic events. The evidence is compelling that President Trump is guilty of inciting an insurrection against a coequal branch of government and that the charge rises to the level of high Crimes and Misdemeanors. Therefore, I have voted to convict."

I have. More than once. And he's right: that's how it's done, with a court reporter and a phalanx of lawyers, all with their questions prepped. And, boy, do they still down into details! Not fun.

So:
1. Links to the quote, or it hasn't happened.
2. Have u determined FOR YOURSELF if the charges are true?
3. Doesn't McConnell's statement, if true, contradict your opinion that Trump owns the GOP? Because from where I sit, it looks like the GOP leadership wants to get rid of Trump almost as much as Dems do.

America = exceptional/ indispensable country
Biden*/ democrats*/ DNC* = saviors
official news = TRUTH and
m$m - truthtellers
FBI/ CIA/ NSA/ Five Eyes = ethical, non-political agencies
Russia = RUSSIA!!!.RUSSIA!!!.RUSSIA!!!
nuclear war = not that bad
US = judge/ jury/ executioner for governments around the world, even elected ones, even ones recognized by the UN (like Assad in Syria)
etc
And as I'm scanning the news, I save examples of these narratives, especially as they're being focused on and whipped-up in coordinated campaigns to propagandize/ bamboozle the easily misled, and frenzy the already biased.
And then when the conclusion of these narratives is reached, I post the previously saved links to illustrate the widespread nature of our propaganda.

Everyone had an 'understanding', but where that 'understanding' came from was never determined. In fact, what I found really amusing was the trio Sondland-Volker-Taylor all pointing fingers at each other as the source of their 'understanding' in a weird circular-firing-squad merry-go-round.
After that first entirely laughable impeachment with literally zero EVIDENCE to back up the charge, I skipped this so-called impeachment trial/ show trial completely, as anyone who has a clue about what constitutes EVIDENCE should have done.
Because the first time around the democrats had time to build entire castles out of thin air, but this time around they selected mere seconds of highly edited video and so-called news clips out of what was clearly exculpatory speech, including the highly deleted words "PEACEFULLY AND PATRIOTICALLY".
There was even less EVIDENCE for impeachment than in the first whipped-up soufflé.
That didn't stop the m$m from continuously pushing the narrative of 'TRUMP=GUILTY' in an orgasm of NOT THE NEWS, along with the sub-head 'only officially-approved news is to be watched and shared'.
Here is some small portion of the mounds of soufflé whipped up in all corners of the m$m in service to the narrative 'TRUMP=GUILTY', but there are many thousands just like them.

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) delivered the following remarks:
“Fellow Americans beat and bloodied our own police. They stormed the Senate floor. They tried to hunt down the Speaker of the House. They built a gallows and chanted about murdering the Vice President.
“They did this because they had been fed wild falsehoods by the most powerful man on Earth — because he was angry he’d lost an election.
“Former President Trump’s actions preceding the riot were a disgraceful dereliction of duty.
Then McConnell said he would have convicted Trump if the trial had finished before noon on Jan 20th. Mitch is so very sorry that the Constitution tells him that Jan 20th is the statue of limitations date. (That’s untrue, but that’s what Trump’s lawyers said and that is good enough for Mitch. “Why would Trump’s lawyers lie about something so important?” Mitch was thinking. Why, indeed.)
Vote Trump in 2024 because he has learned his lesson and will never again fed wild falsehoods to Trumptards “because he was angry he’d lost an election.”

The other things I noticed in NOT THE NEWS is how quickly Jan 6, 2021 was elevated in the reporting from melee > riot > attack > siege > insurrection. And how it was repeatedly called 'unprecedented' across the media spectrum, even though there've been plenty of extremely violent riots in Washington in well over 150 years (as a casual wiki perusal will show).

After Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., told Trump that Vice President Mike Pence had been rushed out of the Senate chamber, his security in question, Trump posted to Twitter, raging at Pence’s betrayal. That’s according to Tuberville, who stands by his account.
“Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution, giving States a chance to certify a corrected set of facts, not the fraudulent or inaccurate ones which they were asked to previously certify,” Trump posted. “USA demands the truth!”
The mob, meanwhile, was rampaging the building, chanting, “Hang Mike Pence!”
That Trump, according to Tuberville, attacked Pence publicly after learning the former vice president was under threat strongly suggests that Trump was eager to see the mob locate Pence and do what they would with him. As the New York Times has reported, Trump also told Pence earlier that day that he’d “go down in history as a pussy” if he didn’t try to flip the election to Trump. Trump clearly wanted the crowd to grab him. If you’re famous, they let you do it.

Trump's full speech - and no incitement to violence.
The media will not show the magnitude of this crowd. Even I, when I turned on today, I looked, and I saw thousands of people here, but you don’t see hundreds of thousands of people behind you because they don’t want to show that. We have hundreds of thousands of people here, and I just want them to be recognised by the fake news media. Turn your cameras please and show what’s really happening out here because these people are not going to take it any longer.
They’re not going to take it any longer. Go ahead. Turn your cameras, please. Would you show? They came from all over the world, actually, but they came from all over our country. I just really want to see what they do. I just want to see how they covered. I’ve never seen anything like it. But it would be really great if we could be covered fairly by the media. The media is the biggest problem we have as far as I’m concerned, single biggest problem, the fake news and the big tech. Big tech is now coming into their own. We beat them four years ago. We surprised them. We took them by surprise and this year, they rigged an election.
They rigged it like they’ve never rigged an election before. By the way, last night, they didn’t do a bad job either, if you notice. I’m honest. I just, again, I want to thank you. It’s just a great honour to have this kind of crowd and to be before you. Hundreds of thousands of American patriots are committed to the honesty of our elections and the integrity of our glorious republic. All of us here today do not want to see our election victory stolen by emboldened radical left Democrats, which is what they’re doing and stolen by the fake news media. That’s what they’ve done and what they’re doing. We will never give up. We will never concede, it doesn’t happen. You don’t concede when there’s theft involved.
Our country has had enough. We will not take it any more and that’s what this is all about. To use a favourite term that all of you people really came up with, we will stop the steal. Today I will lay out just some of the evidence proving that we won this election, and we won it by a landslide. This was not a close election. I say sometimes jokingly, but there’s no joke about it, I’ve been in two elections.
I won them both and the second one, I won much bigger than the first. Almost 75 million people voted for our campaign, the most of any incumbent president by far in the history of our country, 12 million more people than four years ago. I was told by the real pollsters, we do have real pollsters. They know that we were going to do well, and we were going to win. What I was told, if I went from 63 million, which we had four years ago to 66 million, there was no chance of losing. Well, we didn’t go to 66. We went to 75 million and they say we lost. We didn’t lose.
By the way, does anybody believe that Joe had 80 million votes? Does anybody believe that? He had 80 million computer votes. It’s a disgrace. There’s never been anything like that. You could take third world countries. Just take a look, take third world countries. Their elections are more honest than what we’ve been going through in this country. It’s a disgrace. It’s a disgrace. Even when you look at last night, they’re all running around like chickens with their heads cut off with boxes. Nobody knows what the hell is going on. There’s never been anything like this. We will not let them silence your voices. We’re not going to let it happen. Not going to let it happen.
Thank you. I’d love to have, if those tens of thousands of people would be allowed, the military, the secret service, and we want to thank you, and the police law enforcement. Great. You’re doing a great job, but I’d love it if they could be allowed to come up here with us. Is that possible? Can you just let them come up, please? Rudy, you did a great job. He’s got guts. You know what? He’s got guts, unlike a lot of people in the Republican party. He’s got guts, he fights.

Oh BTW I listened to McConnell, and his description of what Trump did (or failed to do) during the riot was all second-hand. Very much like the "QUIDPROQUO!" hysteria, except worse, because duruing this impeachment, there was no investigation by either the House or Senate, and no witnesses were called, fake or otherwise. What was presented as "evidence" was a highly edited version of Trump's speech and "news reports". (Also, I noted with irony McConnell's reference to the "increasing hysteria" about the stolen election of 2020 with the understanding that he was a knowing participant in the "increasing hysteria" about the stolen election of 2016.)
So I call bullshit, again, and hope that the hypocrites of both parties in the House and Senate get what they deserve.

The worst that could happen to Trump from impeachment was that he can't run again for President but he could still be the leader of the GOP after conviction. I think that is a great idea! Incorrect. Fake mail-in election was fake. The assist goes to Biden*, both Senators and the Legacy Media literally buying votes by promising voters in Georgia they will get an additional $1,400 in stimulus money if they vote Democrat.
Trump had nothing to do with it.
And besides, you act as if this is the first time legislative power has swung one way or another. I assure you it's not the first time...

Quote:How about Trump's tax cheating? The IRS is no longer controlled by Trump. Trump owes the IRS around $1 billion in back taxes. Four years from now he won't have paid what he owes and his lawyers will be appealing his tax cases, but voters other than Trumptards will believe he cheated. I think cheating will hurt Trump in the 2024 election, while cheating won't hurt, for example, Ted Cruz running for President. Better for the Democrats that Trump was not convicted during the impeachment, can run for President and is likely to lose because of his strongly suspected cheating. If Trump wins in 2024, his tax cases will be on hold until 2029, when the cases can continue being litigated.

Two Republicans who voted for Trump’s conviction were immediately censured
In the hours after Republican Sens. Bill Cassidy (LA) and Richard Burr (NC) joined five other Republican senators in voting to convict former President Donald Trump on an article of impeachment for his role in inciting the January 6 insurrection, the state Republican parties in Louisiana and North Carolina wasted no time laying down a marker that the GOP still belongs to Trump.
The LAGOP and NCGOP each quickly censured Cassidy and Burr for their votes. In a statement posted to Twitter, the LAGOP wrote that it “condemn[s], in the strongest possible terms, the vote today by Sen. Cassidy to convict former President Trump,” while NCGOP Chair Michael Whatley released a statement denouncing Burr’s vote as “shocking and disappointing.”
Trump won both Louisiana and North Carolina in 2020. Cassidy was loyal to Trump throughout Trump’s term in office, but began to distance himself during the impeachment trial, perhaps feeling emboldened by the fact that he just won reelection for another six-year term. Following his vote, he posted a remarkably succinct video statement in which he said “I voted to convict President Trump because he is guilty.”

The suburban Philadelphia home of Michael van der Veen, one of former President Trump's defense attorneys, was vandalized on Friday night, according to The Hill.
Van der Veen spoke to the reporters Saturday after the Senate acquitted Trump of incitement with a final vote of 57-43, with seven Republicans breaking ranks to vote with the Democrats. He told a press pool about the damage his home sustained.
"My home was attacked. I'd rather not go into it because it would encourage other people to do it more, but you know, I've had nearly 100 death threats," he told a press pool.
Van der Veen said he's far from a "controversial guy" and is not a political figure.
"My home was attacked last night - windows broken, spray paint, really bad words spray-painted everywhere. And the thing is, you guys don't know me, but you know I'm not a controversial guy. I'm not politically minded so to speak," he said.

Every daily episode was another 16 hour long soap opera full of outrageous Trumptard incidents. Trump certainly was entertaining as a TV show but he did not know the calm and orderly way a government should run. The only time I remember things settling down were the days Trump was in the hospital with Covid-19. He was in no position to stir up chaos and disorder while on oxygen and drugs.

That’s ridiculous: Speech can be protected while still representing a threat to the constitutional order when coming from a president. Trump deliberately incited a violent effort to disrupt the constitutional processes governing the peaceful conclusion of a presidential election.
When the violence was in progress, he allowed it to continue for hours, ignoring entreaties that he call off the mob. Even if his exhortations were protected speech, they — along with the rest of his misconduct — are impeachable.
Trump’s team aired video showing numerous Democrats using the word “fight” in all kinds of contexts (which were almost never included). That was supposed to show Trump’s use of the word while inciting the insurrection was somehow analogous.
Trump’s efforts actually did incite the violent assault on the Capitol. Many rioters have confirmed this in their own words. As two researchers who closely examined the motives of the rioters recently concluded in the Atlantic:
The overwhelming reason for action, cited again and again in court documents, was that arrestees were following Trump’s orders to keep Congress from certifying Joe Biden as the presidential-election winner.
That completely destroys the fake equivalence Trump’s lawyers tried to draw (indeed, the whole point of the equivalence was to erase this glaring problem they face).
Trump’s team argued that because Trump used the word “peacefully” during his Jan. 6 harangue, he couldn’t possibly have intended the mob to get violent.
This is silly: It entirely sidesteps Trump’s well known use of mob-speak (as his own former fixer Michael Cohen has explained) to communicate his intentions while maintaining plausible deniability for them. It also elides just how reckless it was for Trump to drive the enraged mob toward the Capitol, when he surely knew what the result almost certainly would be.
Indeed, Trump himself had gone to great lengths to bring about that result, and Trump’s lawyers sidestepped this, too. He spent weeks telling his supporters (in the form of the stolen-election lie) that they were the victims of a monstrous injustice that they could only rectify by taking matters into their own hands (they were justified in using “very different rules,” as he put it), or their country would perish.
There is simply no question that Trump knew exactly how this might turn out. Not only that, Trump refused to call off the mob for hours after the violence started, which is strange behavior if he intended it to be peaceful. Which leads to...
Trump’s team argued he couldn’t have possibly incited the riot because some of the insurrectionists preplanned the assault. Trump’s lawyers showed a bunch of evidence designed to demonstrate this.
But it’s an absurd argument. It entirely erases from the story all of the public statements Trump made in the run-up to Jan. 6th.
The entire “Stop the Steal” movement, which culminated in Trump supporters from all over the country converging on the Capitol — leading to the assault — was relentlessly promoted by Trump’s propagandists and supporters, including Trump himself.
Here’s a partial sampling of Trump statements, culled from this Just Security timeline and this New York Times rundown:
Dec. 19: Trump tweets: “Big protest in D.C. on January 6th … Be there, will be wild!”
Dec. 27: Trump tweets: “See you in Washington, DC, on January 6th. Don’t miss it. Information to follow.”

The Supreme Court's Brandenburg test for 'incitement':
Quote:PEACEFULLY AND PATRIOTICALLY don't sound like exhortations to IMMINENT violence - do they?
In a landmark judgment, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the (Brandenburg) conviction, contending that the Ohio law affronted Brandenburg’s freedom of speech, protected by the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. Instead, the Court held: “Freedoms of speech and press do not permit a State to forbid advocacy of the use of force or of law violation except where such advocacy is directed to inciting or producing imminent lawless action and is likely to incite or produce such action.” Because the (Brandenburg) rally was not obviously intended to incite specific acts of violence, and because it was not likely to do so, government restriction of Brandenburg’s speech was unconstitutional.

My deepest thanks as well to all of the United States Senators and Members of Congress who stood proudly for the Constitution we all revere and for the sacred legal principles at the heart of our country.
Our cherished Constitutional Republic was founded on the impartial rule of law, the indispensable safeguard for our liberties, our rights and our freedoms.
It is a sad commentary on our times that one political party in America is given a free pass to denigrate the rule of law, defame law enforcement, cheer mobs, excuse rioters, and transform justice into a tool of political vengeance, and persecute, blacklist, cancel and suppress all people and viewpoints with whom or which they disagree. I always have, and always will, be a champion for the unwavering rule of law, the heroes of law enforcement, and the right of Americans to peacefully and honorably debate the issues of the day without malice and without hate.
This has been yet another phase of the greatest witch hunt in the history of our Country. No president has ever gone through anything like it, and it continues because our opponents cannot forget the almost 75 million people, the highest number ever for a sitting president, who voted for us just a few short months ago.
I also want to convey my gratitude to the millions of decent, hardworking, law-abiding, God-and-Country loving citizens who have bravely supported these important principles in these very difficult and challenging times.
Our historic, patriotic and beautiful movement to Make America Great Again has only just begun. In the months ahead I have much to share with you, and I look forward to continuing our incredible journey together to achieve American greatness for all of our people. There has never been anything like it!
We have so much work ahead of us, and soon we will emerge with a vision for a bright, radiant, and limitless American future.
Together there is nothing we cannot accomplish.
We remain one People, one family, and one glorious nation under God, and it’s our responsibility to preserve this magnificent inheritance for our children and for generations of Americans to come.
May God bless all of you, and may God forever bless the United States of America.

It was both good and terrible to watch McConnell’s post-verdict speech in which he excoriated Trump – but said he had voted to acquit because the trial was unconstitutional.
It was telling that many of the 43 Republicans who voted to acquit felt the need to hang their hats on the constitutionality argument, which was rejected by constitutional scholars and twice by the Senate itself.
Not even Trump’s lawyers attempted to claim he won an election he actually lost by more than 7 million popular votes and 74 electoral votes.
Nor did Trump’s legal team, led by a personal injury lawyer and a former county prosecutor who declined to pursue charges against Bill Cosby, succeed in freeing Trump from blame for the attack on the Capitol, judging by Republican senators’ speeches.
Instead, Trump’s lawyers denied a copious and unambiguous record of what the former president said and did, while drawing false parallels between routine political speech and Trump’s coup attempt.

The question you need you answer for yourself JO, is why does Trump have so many followers and so many voters? Is an entire swathe of the country comprised of many tens of millions of people of all economic levels, all education backgrounds, all(or both) sexes, all IQ levels, etc so boneheadedly stupid as you think (because, ya' know - you're smarter than everybody)? Former CIA Officer Says He Left Democratic Party Because of Impeachment
By Jack Phillips
February 10, 2021 Updated: February 11, 2021
A former CIA officer wrote that he left the Democratic Party due to the second impeachment of former President Donald Trump, saying that it only serves to exacerbate the political divide.
“For years, Democrats like me have watched with increasing alarm as our own political leaders and activists … have used an endless stream of hateful, violent and ultimately un-American rhetoric that has resulted in billions of dollars in economic damage and given birth to a violent national movement,” wrote Bryan Dean Wright, the former intelligence officer, for the Daily Caller.
Wright said the “modern Left” is infused with “systemic hatred” that has “inflamed profound political divisions and the predictable outcomes that come with them, most especially violence and destruction.”
“The most egregious example came in the summer of 2020, with Leftist race riots that cost upwards of $2 billion in damages,” he said, adding that Democratic leaders didn’t offer condemnations when “fires raged,” property was vandalized, and lives were destroyed.
Wright pointed out that democratically elected officials incited violence in 2020.
“A woman in New York City threw a Molotov cocktail at four police officers sitting in their vehicle during a riot” and “were unharmed only because the gas bomb failed to ignite,” he said.
“Next, a group of rioters in Seattle tried to seal up the doors of a police precinct and ignite the building on fire, burning cops alive.
“In all, over 700 federal, state, and local law enforcement officers sustained injuries in violence perpetrated by Leftist rioters. That includes retired St. Louis police Captain David Dorn, who died defending the city he loved from those encouraged by the Democrat Party’s incitement.”
Wright went on to cite rhetoric from mainstream media pundits such as CNN’s Chris Cuomo, who told viewers last year, “Show me where it says protesters are supposed to be polite and peaceful,” and NPR’s statement that “looting is a powerful tool to bring about real, lasting change in society.”
Such statements, he argued, served to gaslight people into committing acts of violence. At the same time, he suggested that it’s hypocritical to impeach Trump for allegedly inciting an insurrection when Democratic leaders and left-leaning media outlets emboldened rioters and anarchists last year.
House Democrats have argued that Trump’s speech incited supporters on Jan. 6 to carry out the Capitol breach, which left several people—including an officer—dead.
“For Democrats like me, we have no choice: we have to leave. But where do we go, politically, now that our party can no longer be salvaged? The answer is to be found in the exit data from the 2020 election: We’re already leaving, it turns out, and joining the new, populist Republican Party,” he said.

Quote:For the Democrats, this is the best possible result. Trump can run for President, again, displacing smarter candidates such as Ted Cruz, which is good for Democrats. Every voter who isn't a Trumptard knows Trump is guilty, which is good for Democrats. I'm sure Trump will get fewer votes from Independents next time than this time, which is good for Democrats. Then there is the chaos and stupidity Trump will spread within the GOP, which is good for Democrats. When the election audit that 1kiki and Signym want shows Trump lost, that is good for Democrats.

"Mitch is a dour, sullen, and unsmiling political hack, and if Republican Senators are going to stay with him, they will not win again," Trump said in the statement. "He will never do what needs to be done, or what is right for our Country. Where necessary and appropriate, I will back primary rivals who espouse Making America Great Again and our policy of America First."
Trump's call for compassionate leadership came in a petty statement full of ad hominem attacks, including a jab at McConnell's family.
Trump asserted Tuesday that McConnell's shortcomings had contributed to the party's loss of the Senate majority.
The clash between the current and former GOP leaders comes as the Republican Party at large grapples with warring factions at odds over whether to continue in Trump's likeness or forge a path veering from the former President's legacy.
McConnell has repeatedly rebuked Trump's incitement of the January 6 insurrection at the US Capitol, though he voted to acquit the former President of the charge. In remarks on the Senate floor shortly after Trump was cleared in a 57-43 vote, McConnell suggested that the former President could be subject to criminal prosecution.
"There is no question former President Trump bears moral responsibility," McConnell wrote Monday in an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal of the riot. "His supporters stormed the Capitol because of the unhinged falsehoods he shouted into the world's largest megaphone. His behavior during and after the chaos was also unconscionable, from attacking Vice President Mike Pence during the riot to praising the criminals after it ended."
More at https://www.cnn.com/2021/02/16/politics/trump-mcconnell/index.html
Since 6ix needs pointers, it's bad for the GOP's future that Trump is attacking its most successful politician who won reelection for 6 years at the same time as Trump lost and two Georgia Senators lost because of Trump's chaotic "help" in a runoff election.

Since 6ix needs pointers, it's bad for the GOP's future that Trump is attacking its most successful politician who won reelection for 6 years at time Trump lost and two Georgia Senators lost because of Trump's chaotic "help" in a runoff election.

Quote:That is not how politics works. If you get rid of the winners, such as McConnell, and replace them with candidates Trump likes, the GOP will lose elections. Does it need explaining that the Democrats will take the seats lost because Trump's handpicked candidates stink to high heaven? I look forward to Trump "helping" in many GOP elections. Luckily for the Democrats, Trump couldn't "help" if he had been convicted.

Quote:In the “rational actor model”, we think that telling people the facts, the truth, what is going on and then they will be able to reasonably come to the correct conclusion. But in point of fact, that is not how Trumptards reason and come to judgments. That is not how they understand things. A better descriptor of Trumptard cognitive processing system would be, I’ll see it when I believe it, not the other way around.

What happened in this trial was that Trumptards had preformulated ideas or judgments. And then whatever facts were presented to them, they found a way to send those facts outside of the frame. Trumptards are very good at that.

You can't have a well functioning nation when the poor Trumptard third of the population think they are smart, brave, hardworking, etc., especially when they don't actually have in sufficient quantities the qualities they keep bragging about. Since Trumptards can't see Trump for what a incompetent executive he is, it is unlikely they will look carefully in the mirror and see how incompetent and goofy they are and realize that Trumptards need to straighten up and act more like the people they are in their imagination.

Countdown Clock to Trumps impeachment " STARTS"
Does anyone think that Nancy* and the Deems* are going to spit out yet another impeachment? Because it seems like this topic should be well and truly over.
But perhaps our TDS sufferers won't be able to help themselves ... I wonder how long it might take before they post another Trump-impeachment post here.

There are a many things Trumptards don't see besides Trump deserving the punishment for insurrection. For a huge example that made it into today's national news: "Texas grid fails to weatherize, repeats mistake feds cited 10 years ago"
https://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/energy/article/Texas-grid-ag
ain-faces-scrutiny-over-cold-15955392.php
The Texas electric grid failed because the Trumptards running Texas don't see problems until these become crises. The grid is a problem. Trump is problem. There are smaller problems that don't get fixed until too late because Trumptards are in charge. Here is one:
City of Baytown - Government
We regret to share that water service will not be restored tonight. We will have a better understanding of the situation tomorrow. We look forward to resolving this issue and apologize for the inconvenience.
https://www.facebook.com/BaytownCityHall/photos/a.941059469244686/4404
330049584260/
It is a simple problem of not winterizing or heat-tracing small diameter tubing at the water-treatment plant. The result is no water for ALL of Baytown, despite there being electricity from emergency generators to run the water pumps and filters and chemical dispensers. The Trumptards of Texas did not see a need to winterize the water treatment plant because it doesn't get below freezing often in Baytown. But then again the Trumptards didn't see a need to punish Trump because Presidential elections don't happen that often.
Funny how Trumptards didn't react to riots and killings inside the Capitol Building. That never happens. I wonder what is wrong with Trumptards? Something bad has got a grip on the Trumptards' brains. Trumptard obstinacy and obtuseness at a water plant is a problem for everyone in Baytown. Trumptard obstinacy at the state level is a problem for every electric user in Texas. Trumptard obstinacy and obtuseness about Trump is a national problem. Trumptards make problems where there would be none.

The second impeachment trial, in which 57 senators voted to convict, demonstrated Congress's own desire to hold Trump accountable. Republicans who saved Trump from the two-thirds vote required for conviction stood on their claims that the Senate should not try former office holders. Afterwards Minority Leader Mitch McConnell made clear he didn't consider Trump exactly innocent. "Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day."

Broken record.
How many days are you going to post the same thing, and how many months or years are you going to bring up Trump?
I plan on not thinking about Trump again until he starts his 2024 election bid.

Former Texas governor Rick Perry suggests that going days without power is a sacrifice Texans should be willing to make if it means keeping federal regulators out of the state’s power grid.
In a blog posted on House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy's website, Perry is quoted responding to the claim that “those watching on the left may see the situation in Texas as an opportunity to expand their top-down, radical proposals.”
“Texans would be without electricity for longer than three days to keep the federal government out of their business,” Perry is quoted as saying. “Try not to let whatever the crisis of the day is take your eye off of having a resilient grid that keeps America safe personally, economically, and strategically.”
Texas’s power grid, run by the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, or ERCOT, occupies a unique distinction in the United States in that it does not cross state lines and thus is not under the oversight of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
That has long been a point of pride with Texas politicians who in the 2000s chose to deregulate the state's power market and allow power companies, not state regulators, determine when and how to build and maintain power plants.
That system has fallen under scrutiny in recent days as millions of Texans are left without power following an unusual cold snap. Following a near identical episode a decade ago, federal regulators warned Texas it needed to take steps to better insulate its power plants.
But there is little indication that happened, prompting criticism of ERCOT from Texas Republicans and Democrats alike.
Perry, former president Donald Trump's energy secretary, however, blamed the rolling blackouts on the rise of wind and solar energy in Texas.
“If wind and solar is where we’re headed, the last 48 hours ought to give everybody a real pause and go wait a minute,” Perry said. “We need to have a baseload. And the only way you can get a baseload in this country is [with] natural gas, coal, and nuclear.”
That argument has been made by numerous conservatives in the midst of the blackouts. But it does not line up with early reports indicating the majority of the lost generation was natural gas plants not wind turbines, which actually performed better than grid regulators had anticipated, said Michael Webber an energy professor at the University of Texas.

After 4 years as Trump's Energy Secretary, Rick Perry knows nothing about Energy. Not knowing but thinking wrongly they know is a defining characteristic of Trumptards. It is why they screw-up on the job without being aware of it.

McConnell’s decision to speak forcefully against Trump immediately after his vote to acquit was the only way that McConnell could guarantee his position at the center of the debate over both the policy and political approaches that the GOP will take in the coming years. If McConnell had voted to convict, he would have faced a leadership challenge or outright removal from his role as Republican leader.
McConnell has positioned himself as the de facto leader of the effort to push back against Trump's preferred congressional candidates -- in particular, those who he does not see as viable general election candidates in 2022.
McConnell's role as party leader enables him to direct the considerable campaign finance and infrastructure resources of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) to support candidates he sees as more viable. It also allows him to exert more influence via outside conservative SuperPACs like American Crossroads and the Senate Leadership Fund, both of which take guidance from the Senate Republican leader.
More broadly, McConnell likely believes that his recent impeachment-acquittal two-step was the only way to keep power and rid the Republican Party of Trump's influence for good -- ahead of the 2022 midterms and next presidential election in 2024.
