In four years, despite a few thousand exhortations, "impeachment" has gone nowhere. Due, I might add, to lack of evidence. This is truly a dead thread about a dead topic.
Wuduyu tokking about?
The countdown finished 424 dayz ago. Trump wuz impeached Desembr 18th 2019.
T + 424, dood!
And now that he iz impeached twise, he haz exeeded the stated goal line uv this thred by... hmmm. Not sure how to even calculate that. Its like scoring more than 300 in bowling!
And going by any reazonable parameterz, he beats all former bad Prezidents combined quite handily! In a class by himself. Peerless. Incomparable.
Hard to understand how you coud hav possibly missed the newz, but herez an article that coverz the subject to explain wy this thred iz a complete sekses:

It was both good and terrible to watch McConnell’s post-verdict speech in which he excoriated Trump – but said he had voted to acquit because the trial was unconstitutional.
It was telling that many of the 43 Republicans who voted to acquit felt the need to hang their hats on the constitutionality argument, which was rejected by constitutional scholars and twice by the Senate itself.
Not even Trump’s lawyers attempted to claim he won an election he actually lost by more than 7 million popular votes and 74 electoral votes.
Nor did Trump’s legal team, led by a personal injury lawyer and a former county prosecutor who declined to pursue charges against Bill Cosby, succeed in freeing Trump from blame for the attack on the Capitol, judging by Republican senators’ speeches.
Instead, Trump’s lawyers denied a copious and unambiguous record of what the former president said and did, while drawing false parallels between routine political speech and Trump’s coup attempt.

True, but he apparently duznt realize or maybe duznt care that its a disgrase for America in the eyez uv the world. He had alredy voted agenst conviction, amplifying that disgrase.

Quote:I think THUGR was assuming that Trump would be impeached and convicted, and (maybe) even run out of office in a rail. not that he would be impeached and acquitted.

Because if "impeachment" was the actual threshold, HE would have declared success a long time ago!
And JO, whatever happened to "innocent until proven gulity"? Don't tell me that YOU'RE ready to ditch our Constitution because it protects people you don't like!
Or are you just a fair-weather patriot?
(For the record, I believe you TALK about patriotism but you don't practice it.)

When help is needed, the GOP says no, as it has been saying since Herbert Hoover was President. There is no "lack of evidence" about what the GOP is and what Trump did.

Here's evidence about the GOP: Sen. Graham says Kamala Harris could be impeached if GOP takes over the House

Typical response from the GOP. Graham is being stupid, vindictive, and obstructive. Even he doesn't believe his impeachment plan is meaningful.
Nuts Two, their just nuts. It's most apparent when they assume what others want, believe or think will happen. Trolls Two, their just trolls.

Probably like most peepl, he didnt no the distinction bak then. But He didnt rite 'impeachment and conviction' so it duznt matter. A win iz a win. Thats the rulez, man.
For this 2nd impeachment, the dumass GoPs depended on a teknicality, and a misinterpretted teknikality at that, AND a tekniknikality they created at that, to justify not convicting.
If you really think such a flimzy and transparent excuse counts az exoneration, you are either really stoopid or part uv the crime that iz the entire Trump saga.
But really, all uv us here no the truth. I dont need to state it.
The only mystery for me iz wy the GoP leaderz didnt dump Trump wen they had the chans. Both timez. Especially this time.I see no advantaj that duznt evaporate befor it can do them any good.

The case they made against Trump will be used to convict him in a court of law should the District of Columbia choose to go that route.

Quote:What technicality was that? I really know of only 1, and it was a Supreme Court ruling. What 'technicality' were you thinking of?

Especially this time. I see no advantaj that duznt evaporate befor it can do them any good.
The question you need you answer for yourself JO, is why does Trump have so many followers and so many voters? Is an entire swathe of the country comprised of many tens of millions of people of all economic levels, all education backgrounds, all(or both) sexes, all IQ levels, etc so boneheadedly stupid as you think (because, ya' know - you're smarter than everybody)? Or is Trump saying something the other 2 main parties aren't saying? Does he represent, however imperfectly, something other than the status quo?
