Apparently this character has been regendered.

But 2 actresses are listed in IMDb that I enjoy.
Gemma Chan was in the series Humans, and I haven't seen her since.
McKenna Grace plays the child version of CM.

No gender swap. Captain Marvel is a guy in the DC universe. However, they usually just call him Shazam now to avoid any confusion. In the Marvel universe there was a Captain Mar-vell who was an alien hero. Carol Danvers was a fangirl of his and wished to have his powers and was granted the wish by some magical whatsit. When Mar-vell died she started calling herself Ms. Marvel but eventually she rebranded as straight up Captain Marvel. Which then lead to a younger hero taking on the mantle of Ms. Marvel. Comic books are so straight forward.

I think Jude Law is going to be Mar-vell in the movie.

That is great to hear. Keeping Fidelity with the source material. I think I'll try to catch this.

Already seeing posters for next summer's Wonder Woman.

Captain Marvel "Want to See" rating currently at 32%.

Get Woke, Go Broke.

I do hope that Bob Iger realizes these last few months have been the perfect time to do re-shoots for the movie and save this flick by making it the first X-Men crossover.

They can write out Brie Larson's character for bad behavior in real life by having Rogue absorb her powers and throw her off a bridge.

You already let the SJW idiots ruin Star Wars, Bob. There's still time to salvage the MCU.

I for the life of me can't fathom what's gotten up Brie's backside to make her so damn ornery and agitated that a full 60-70 % of her audience ( probably more ) are so deserving of her snide, angry wahman attitude. Good grief, how about show a bit of gratitude, express some enthusiasm for the project and being picked to carry on the MCU.

Gal Gadot showed you how it's done, but apparently you're not that bright.

I hope for EVERYONE'S sake that Brie is overselling the #Resist crap and we don't get a movie that looks full tilt Mary Sue as it appears.

Wonder Woman - check
Alita - check

Captain Marvel -

It should also be noted, in case you were unaware, that Brie Larson got a whopping $5 Million dollars to play Captain Marvel in her first MCU appearance.

Sure... It might not sound like much when you regularly see the MCU movies rake in $700 Million to over a Billion, but let's put it in perspective here...

Robert Downey Jr. got $500,000 for Iron Man.
Paul Rudd got $300,000 for Ant Man.
Chris Evans got $300,000 for Captain America: The First Avenger
Chris Hemsworth got $200,000 for Thor.
Zoe Saldana got $100,000 for the first Guardians.

Show some fucking humility and grace, Brie.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

What is Brie's bad behavior IRL?

Well you know that answering that question is just going to leave me open to attacks from our more "progressive" members here...

You can google it. She's said a ton of stupid shit on late night TV and social media in the last few months that would have gotten her removed from those platforms if she were saying it about other people who can't be targeted in 2019, if you know what I mean. Apparently Disney fully supports this stuff too since it hasn't stopped. We'll have to see if that trend continues if this movie doesn't perform well.

Initial estimates of opening weekend were as high as $180 Million. Now some are as low as only $80 Million and critics are already offering excuses about the lower estimates.

I may choose to give some examples in the future. I'm kind of damned if I do and damned if I don't here. Idiots like CC are going to berate me for not providing links if I don't, or call me a misogynist if I do.

Whatever...

Maybe Auraptor will chime in. He knows what's going on here.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

The only one I've heard is that she's tired of everyone interviewing her on her press tour being white and male. She wants more diversity. She clarified to say that she doesn't want to remove the white men but to add more "seats" for others. Now I'd say that's pretty naive because we all know there are time limits on these interviews. So, no matter how many seats you add it means some people are going to have less time to ask their questions.

It's tough because I'm sure the interviewers are predominantly white and male, but does that mean they didn't put in the work to get there or aren't qualified? Of course not. Would it be great if we could live in a world with infinite time and opportunity? Sure. Except we don't. So, things will never be perfectly fair. No matter what for someone to get ahead that pretty much is going to mean someone else doesn't get to move forward.
