Brenda: As I said I don't like cloud or other things like that as I don't trust them. Rather have it on computer or paper or once I get over my chicken on USB. I will do it when I get everything else done. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.17 23:37
Brenda: I was thinking about trying the dragging and dropping it into an email. So, I find the document first, then open email and drag and drop. If asked about attachment say yes. Always use left side of mouse. I've written this all down. I don't like cloud either. I much prefer things like my writing either on my computer or on paper. Or once I get over my chicken the USB. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.17 23:35
Brenda: I get that the USB is basically another folder or file like I've got paper in. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.17 23:30

6ixStringJack: For most people that would be enough, but I don't trust online companies and that they'll keep your stuff online forever after you've uploaded it. You've seen what happened to your own post history here before and now to the entire site, and it's run by a guy who actually wants to keep it running (or at least has, up until this point). Think of this as cloning your egg and putting that egg into different baskets and just doing everything within your power to make sure that if and when your computer ever craps out on you for good that you don't lose all of your work along with it. If you really have no old sent copy of your book in email anymore and it's not sitting in your sent folder from 3 years ago, you really need to at least get an up-to-date copy emailed to yourself at the very least just in case your computer goes. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.17 11:33
6ixStringJack: Forget the USB for now. We just want you to open up File Explorer, go to your Documents folder, and make sure you see your newest copy of your book sitting there as a Word Document. Once you see that, you can start an email to yourself in your web browser, and you can drag and drop the book into that email with your mouse (by clicking on the book and HOLDING down the left mouse button in File Explorer and dragging that over your email and releasing the mouse button). That should either automatically add the book to the email, or ask you if you want to attach the document to your email (to which you say yes). Then just make sure you've got your email address in the TO: filed of your email and you'll send yourself a virtually indestructible copy of that online before we even think about your USB drive. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.17 11:27
6ixStringJack: It's only as complex as you make it. Think of the USB drive as a brief case. But it's a briefcase that has a hidden compartment that if you open that up you can step into a room with a few thousand file cabinets inside of it. You don't have to make use of any of those file cabinets or room for your files, but if you wanted to use them, they are empty and waiting for you beneath the surface. For now though, you never have to peek under the bottom of the briefcase and you can just copy a few files over to it and never look under that secret compartment. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.17 11:22
Brenda: Okay, all that USB talk just made me nervous again. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.17 09:12
Brenda: When I did it originally it was an attachment. That original email is looong gone. I started working with her in around 2022. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.17 09:10
6ixStringJack: That USB drive you got for $15 is an amazing piece of tech for how cheap things like that have gotten over the years. At better-than-average sound quality, you'd have no problem storing over 1,200 songs on it. For only around $150 you can buy a drive large enough to store more than 1,000 BluRay quality movies. My problem is that even though I've done a great job at cleaning up my real-life hoard, I've got this digital hoard that needs to be sorted through. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.17 08:36
6ixStringJack: What I would like to do, Brenda, is get you comfortable enough with basic folder/file structure 101 so you're not afraid of doing things like backing up your files or making new folders to put things like pictures inside. Once we verify your book is right where you last left it (whether that's in your Documents folder, the Desktop or wherever else it could be hiding), I want to get you to create your own sub-folders in the documents folder for easy storage. It's just as easy to create folders on your USB thumbstick that you just bought too. With that little 8GB thing you bought for $15 the other day, you could download and store a copy of every single book you have ever read or would ever like to read on it and have plenty of room to spare for every photograph you have that you want to save as well. You just need to know the basics of using them and not be afraid of them is all. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.17 06:57
6ixStringJack: Hey Ted. Chris Matthews is a retard and I'm going to shove that article right back up your ass in November. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.17 06:22
6ixStringJack: So we need you to open up File Explorer, left click on "Documents" on the left side and one of the files you see in the right pane should be your book Word Document with whatever name you gave that file. That's the one we want you to email to yourself when you confirm it is there and that it's the correct version of your book. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.17 06:20
6ixStringJack: Last night I had a very slight concern that you may have overwritten your original Word Doc Book with the edited one, but I forgot the part where you said that was a Google Doc. That was likely just a link to Google Docs that opens up in your web browser when you click it. So your original book is still safely in the Documents folder (or at least it should be, if you haven't verified that yet). I still haven't heard a 100% confirmation out of you that you know for a fact that the latest editable version of your word doc is in the Documents folder. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.17 06:19

6ixStringJack: Brenda, messed up your file transfer or email? No. I don't see how that could be releated. Although I don't know what level you mean on. It's possible that you had certain defaults in place on one program or in Windows and an update that happened while you were moving things around may have switched up a default setting on where files were loaded to and from, maybe? - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.17 06:16

6ixStringJack: Trump talking with Sen Warren about capping credit card interest at 10% for one year: [go to link] I dunno man. Back in 2003 without a job and a penny to my name, I had tons of credit. I had only around a 730 credit score and my highest interest rate was 12.99% with the lowest being 6.99%. Today my credit score is over 830 (damn near a perfect 850), and my lowest rate is 24.99%. Something is wrong with credit. I don't want to hear either side whining about why. Figure it out. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.17 03:36
6ixStringJack: Oh... Brenda. You also have the option to go allllllllll the way back to when you first emailed your book to that editor too. That copy you sent should still be attached to the email you sent out. If you can find that email with your working word document already attached, you can then reply to it with your own email in the TO: field and you will forward over a new version of your book to yourself. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.17 03:19
6ixStringJack: Hey Second. Shut up, you whiny little faggot. Your finished. Nobody will ever listen to or take you seriously about anything ever again. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.17 03:13
6ixStringJack: Okay, Brenda. So you see your working word doc in the Documents folder then? That's the one you want to attach to an email and send to yourself. If you follow the earlier instructions with "Opening File Exploerer" and then going to the left side "Documents" pane, you should see your word document as a choice when attaching your file. (I'm not sure if you dragged and dropped the file into your email when you sent it to the editor, or if you added it to the email through dialog boxes). Either way is fine. If you see the book there, just do it the same way you did when you sent your original book to your editor. The only change you're making here is that you're going to email it to yourself instead of somebody else. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.17 02:53
Brenda: No, it doesn't look like it got overwritten. No, it didn't ask me that when I had finished retying it on here. I just hit save and everything like that went fine. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.16 23:36
Brenda: Mine is a Word document and the one she sent me back is in Google Documents. She works in Google and I can't do anything with except open it and read it. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.16 23:34
Brenda: The one in documents is the one I can work on.
Documents holds the version I originally put onto this computer when I got it. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.16 23:33

6ixStringJack: I just want to make sure that you didn't overwrite your book with the version your editor sent you. It would have asked you if your really wanted to do that if you did, but just in case that's what you did it's good news that you didn't make any changes since the last one you sent out, since worst case scenario we can always find that version and get it back in on your computer. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.16 12:06
6ixStringJack: You say you can't work on one, so I'm thinking that yours is a Word Document and the one from your editor is likely a PDF. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.16 12:04
6ixStringJack: So can you open up your book that you work on? Not the one that you got from the editor? Or are you saying the book in your Documents is the one from your editor with the edits on it? Are both of them in your Documents folder? - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.16 12:03
Brenda: Okay. I usually go into documents when you bring up start and it shows documents. No, I haven't done any work on my Word copy since mailing it. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.16 09:10
6ixStringJack: Go Billy Bob!: [go to link] That's right. Take your award, thank your mom, sit your ass down, STFU, and then take your award home and bounce on it. Nobody cares. You are nothing. You are no one. And we own you. Our timeline is finally fixing itself. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.16 06:56
6ixStringJack: Okay, Brenda. The file isn't "in" "File Explorer". Think of "File Explorer" as your file cabinet, and the files and folders are inside of that. Your Documents folder is where most of your documents are saved and accessed by default, but you can change that location at any time. How do you normally open your book when you're going to work on it? Also, have you done any new work on it since the last time you emailed it to somebody? - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.16 03:48
6ixStringJack: Makes perfect sense actually, when you think about it. All of the white people who have been terrorizing American in the streets since around 2020 either just got their bachelors degree, or were on their way to getting one. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.16 03:33
6ixStringJack: Nah, Second. I don't qualify for ICE. Looks like you need a bachelor's degree for that too. Maybe it will be a fellow classmate of yours that ends up cracking the skull of one of your made up lesbian, American hating, cat lady daughters? I'm not "educated" enough to do that. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.16 03:31
Brenda: Everything does come up on documents. I am just confused. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.15 22:31
Brenda: Sorry SIX. Yes, I meant File Explorer. That is where my copy has gone. In my regular documents is the one like I said she edited but she uses Google Docs. Will look at Wikihow about that later. Have dental appointment today. So no can do right now. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.15 22:29

6ixStringJack: Your book SHOULD be there, hopefully. If not, we'll find it. But if you click on the Documents folder on the left, you should see your book in the right pane listed alphabetically with any other documents you have in your documents folder. Once you have verified that's YOUR version of the book that you want, you can email that one to yourself and check it again like you did tonight. Let me know if you need any clarification on any of the steps. - http://www.fireflyfans.net 01.15 09:55
6ixStringJack: I usually use option #4 about 95% of the time probably just out of habit. Any of those methods open "File Explorer".
