| 6ixStringJack: I haven't used Google's Word equvalent all that much since I do most of my writing now on a much simpler program called Notepad++ these days, and I only ever use MS Word if I'm doing something that needs to have a professional look to it. But I use Google Sheets nearly every day and after I got used to a few differences that annoyed me at first I never looked back. I won't say it's superior to Microsoft Excel, but it does everything that I need, it's free, and it's super convenient for me to be able to load up a spreadsheet on any of my devices, or from anywhere else if I'm not sitting at home. I still don't trust them enough to put anything personal with names and addresses and all the info that always gets stolen and leaked, but it's perfect for what I need it for. The only version I know that works for sure in Windows 11 without doing some hacking is their Microsoft Office 365, which is a subscription based model that you have to pay a monthly/yearly fee to use. Your current computer could last you another 5 years, but eventually you're going to have to learn to do something different than what you're doing now. It should open a window similar to that which opens when you click on the paperclip before you send it. On the left side you should see some other folders besides just "Documents". One of them would be "Desktop". So what you did by dragging the book into that box, and not the body of the email itself, is make a copy of your book from your Documents folder into whatever folder Gmail defaults to, and then you sent that copy to yourself. 6ixStringJack: So if you can see your book in the RIGHT pane inside File Exploer, this is the document that you want to attach into your email that you will be sending to yourself. There are many ways to attach this, but this should be the easiest method for you to do if all of the above are true. Try to attach this document to an email and send it to your own email address and let me know what the outcome is.

| Brenda: I went into file explorer and found my book, just to be sure. I opened it and it opened as the word doc that I need. I thought great and I got to my email and made sure it was to myself. I dragged it into the email and it dropped into it. I sent it and when I went to open it, it was still the stupid google doc that she sent me. The only ways I can get into to do edits or add more to my book as Word is to go through documents like I described to you. Call up the start screen and bring up power and it brings the menu with documents and pictures and such. Or I go through File Explorer.
