They're virtually empty. I'm still not afraid of this scenario playing out in the slightest. Even with the Joe Biden* puppet show we're currently enduring, and even with Obama pulling UN/NATO strings.

Russia's powerful enough to keep it escalating to the Last Resort. They're not wack-job jihadists over there. They know if they launch the nukes that's the end of the world as we know it.

Russia doesn't bluff, SIX. They do pretty much what they say they'll do. They fulfill their contracts, meet their treaty obligations, and stand by their promises. They've been harping on NATO's eastward expansion since at least 2007, and have said over and over that Ukraine in NATO is a red line. The problem is, we (the collective west) don't take them seriously. We bought our own bullshit about Russia being a gas station masquerading as a country and thought we could break every promise and diddle them along with "talks" and "agreements" designed to buy time to arm Ukraine. Russia WILL use nukes if they think it's necessary.

Fortunately for us, they have conventional "escalatory dominance" (per Obama) so as long as we stick to conventional weapons they probably will too.

PS: They have nuclear escalatory dominance, too. But TPTB here don't know that either, and that's what makes them dangerous.

Edited to add: At one time Russia even asked to be a NATO member. They were willing to work with the west. It was our policies that turned them into an implacable enemy. At this point I don't know if we can retrace our steps.

Oh, but you forgot the best part, SECOND.

It was the USA that developed the atom bomb first, the USA (and only the USA) that used the atom bomb first- twice(!), developed the hydrogen bomb first, and the USA that has pulled out of most nuclear arms treaties with Russia.

Everything that USSR/Russia has done since WWII is a RESPONSE to everything we've done.

The person who's paranoid is you. If we stopped attacking Russia, they could stop defending themselves. Altho, by now, they know our permanent state is crazy and dishonest (yanno, like you) and is dedicated to their destruction, so at this point they have no interest in talking to anyone in DC: Democrat, Republican, elected official, permanent staff, security or military ... pretty much a bag of nuts and morons.

BTW SIX: Russia's threats AREN'T empty. But their threats are also measured. They have not committed to "no first use". Nuclear weapons are on the table, but also a last reort.

What happened after WWII? Russia killed two million German civilians who were forced out of areas Russia controlled and sent to East Germany. Russia denies killing any Germans. Meanwhile, the USA killed none and West Germany prospered under the USA, UK and French. East Germany did not prosper.

After WWII, Russia killed ten million political prisoners. Russia denies killing any prisoners. This is years after the Purges of the 1930s. Meanwhile, the USA killed none except for some Branch Davidians who felt their gun-ownership and religious rights were not being respected by the USA.

After WWII, Russia set North Korea up. That little country is a killing machine of its own citizens. Tens of millions of North Koreans died and the remainder live in poverty. North Korea denies killing anybody, the same false denials that come regularly out of Russia. Meanwhile, the USA set South Korea into motion where Koreans have prospered and grown rich selling cars, washing machines, and TVs to the USA.

You already know how North Korea followed Russia's example of threatening to nuke the neighborhood of Japan, South Korea and the USA. It is impossible to believe North Korean claims that it built H-bombs to bring peace which the USA would ruin if North Korea had no H-bomb. Russia makes exactly the same claims about its peaceful H-bombs bringing love and prosperity to the world.

Yanno, I read this 30 years ago. While I never believed this word for word, there was enough evidence to take the shine off the USA being King Arthur and Jesus Christ all rolled into one.

Signym's "sources": . . . took in millions of German prisoners in the summer of 1945 and deliberately starved as many as one in four of them to death, according to the highest estimates.

In contrast, the Wiki writes: 1,000,000 ~ 1,900,000 prisoners
3,000 ~ 6,000 deaths
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rheinwiesenlager

Signym, you are doing a But-What-About propaganda attack, a technique perfected by Russians and used extensively by Trumptards.

Signym, the Russians killed millions of civilians, both German and Russian, after WWII. Ukrainians know all about it, plus Holodomor, which is why Ukrainians are not surrendering to the Russians.

Not all bluffs are on a 2-7 offsuit hand. I'm not saying that Russia CAN'T make good on that bluff if they felt it was necessary. They obviously have a much stronger hand than a 2-7 offsuit. But it's still a bluff. They're not looking to destroy the world any more than anyone pulling the strings here are. The people running our country want to rule the world, but none of them want to run a bombed out radioactive waste of a world.

That would be some end-of-times shit, and quite frankly, we're not even close to being there yet. Russia is just as likely as the US to escalate to nuclear weapons, which is to say it's about as likely as winning a Billion Dollar Powerball.

Russia did this yesterday: A strategic next-generation missile that Russian President Vladimir Putin once described as “invincible” has been deployed for combat duty, the head of state space agency Roscosmos said Friday.

Since Russia killed 64 million Russians over political differences, I'm sure there will some day be a Russian Czar who would kill 64 million Americans over political differences. That Czar might be named Putin.

SECOND: Signym's "sources": . . . took in millions of German prisoners in the summer of 1945 and deliberately starved as many as one in four of them to death, according to the highest estimates.

And SECOND says
Quote:

Meanwhile, the USA killed none
which, even according to Wikipedia, is wrong, wrong, wrong.

Wikipedia also says

Quote:

"Other Losses" is a 1989 book by Canadian writer James Bacque, which makes the claim that U.S. General Dwight D. Eisenhower intentionally caused the deaths by starvation or exposure of around a million German prisoners of war held in Western internment camps after the Second World War. "Other Losses" charges that hundreds of thousands of German prisoners that had fled the Eastern front were designated as "Disarmed Enemy Forces" [not POW] in order to avoid recognition under the Geneva Convention (1929), for the purpose of carrying out their deaths through disease or slow starvation. "Other Losses" cites documents in the U.S. National Archives and interviews with people who stated they witnessed the events. The book claims that a "method of genocide" was present in the banning of Red Cross inspectors, the returning of food aid, soldier ration policy, and policy regarding shelter

No, I'm simly rebutting YOUR fatuous claim that the USA killed not a single soldier/ 'disarmed enemy forces'/ "enemy combatant". Since you're CLEARLY WRONG in your statement, all that's left is to argue numbers

Oh, and to call names (your go-to dodge) and claim "whataboutism" (one of your other favorite dodges).

And what's your answer to this, SECOND? Run another regime change operation on Russia's border? Place nuclear missiles within 5 minutes of Moscow? Threaten and bluster some more, and back out of the last remaining nuclear treaty? Stomp all over Russia's CLEARLY STATED RED LINES?

Yanno, things have gone haywire for well-established empires before. How will TPTB react when they see everything crumbling around them?

Were there ever rational PTB?

I don't believe that the real PTB today are any different than the real PTB of yesterday. You can diversity hire the public face of things into oblivion, but those don't ever change.

They know what they're doing. We're all playing checkers and they're all playing Chess.

To them, none of this is crumbling around them. They've got theirs, and short of a world-ending event, they'll always have theirs. If the middle class gets gutted along the way, that was part of their plan. And why wouldn't they want to see that result... especially with the gross overpopulation of the planet?

Russia ain't going to use any nukes. The US isn't going to either. Even Lil' Kim isn't ever going to fire any nukes from North Korea. They just like whipping their dicks out to remind everyone that they've got 'em.

No man is infallible though. Though I put the chances of nuclear war at 0%, they'd better really think long and hard about the biological warfare. One of these days they're going to put some designer bioweapon out there that they were sure they had 100% control of and find out that they didn't have a contingency plan in place for when it mutated beyond their expectations. One day they're going to wind up killing 8 Billion people and spend the next 50 years living in bunkers with the rest of the 0.001% with nobody left alive to do their slave work.
