Texas is paradise for straight white male Republicans who are unemployed. Come and be unemployed in Texas. It will be better than where you are. For a social example, if 6stringJoker is concerned, here’s what the Texas bathroom bill means in plain English https://apps.texastribune.org/texas-bathroom-bill-annotated/ If bathrooms are important enough for the Republican governor to call a special session of the legislature, it must be a very important issue to all Republicans, no matter what state they now live in.

So what were the unemployment numbers like in Texas the last 8 years?

Still don't see your point other than your continued virtue signaling.

The point is that the very best you can hope for in your state if Trump gets ALL his wishes and Republicans control your entire state will be no better than what Texas already has. Does your state have less oil and natural gas than Texas? Then Trump's results in your state will not be as good as in Texas. To your other question: 55% unemployment rate in Texas. Approximately 13 million employed out of a 28 million population. I'm calculating unemployment the way Trump calculated unemployment during his campaign. He changed calculation methods after he was elected.

And Texas has millions and millions working at the minimum wage or less and millions and millions without health insurance, more than any other state. If you are unemployed or work minimum wage jobs in your state, it is a workers' paradise here in Texas, much better than Georgia or your state.

So.... what's your point? This is the last time I'm going to ask you that.

If employment was any better the last 8 years then there might be something to bitch about or at least blame Trump for.

It wasn't, and there isn't.

Unemployment is unchanged in Texas. The point I am trying to get you to see is that Texas arrived when George Bush was Governor at the place where Trump, today, is leading the rest of the country. Texas is what Republicanism stands for. In Texas, people in the lower income brackets don't like it. I like it just fine, thank you. People with low incomes in the other 49 states won't like it when Trump turns the entire USA into Texas. If you don't like your life now, you won't be any happier when Trump finishes all his plans.

Come to Texas and see the future that Trump has planned for you. It depends on how wealthy you are how much you will love it.

True. Trump is heaven for the rich, hell for all others.

We already knew the Democrat was going to lose. The Koch brothers got involved.

There is literally no election they can't buy.

Since Citizens United, our government is for sale to the highest bidder, and no one bids higher than the Kochs.

Democrats would win if they had something to offer for the average American who just wants a job at a decent wage. Yes, EVERYONE should have an equal shot at success, but turning us into a rollerball of competing victim-groups isn't the solution for what ails us. We jobs at decent wages for everyone.

Politics doesn't work the way you are implying. Democrats have that message in Texas and it does NOT work. Raise the minimum wage to a decent wage? Not gonna happen in Texas. Air-condition prisons to stop heat deaths in Summer? Not gonna happen without it turning into Federal case. Stop gerrymandering districts? Not gonna happen unless the Supreme Court forces the issue. A hundred other improvements are not gonna happen.

Even when Democrats make the biggest, wildest, most improbable promises they can dream about, it makes no difference. They still lose every statewide election. There are no magic words, no policy positions, no super-duper offers that will shove Republicanism out of power in Texas.

This is the state that sent Senator Ted Cruz to Washington. This state loves nutty Ted. This is the state that called a special legislative session for July to pass a bathroom bill. This is the way it is.

Meanwhile, a better measure of number of jobs is the participation rate, which went ...

That's the problem with using bad metrics .... you lose sight of what's really going on. Yanno, kind of like the polls which showed Ossoff "winning" by five points.
