Summary: Post BDM. Rayne, Saylee, Mara. Takes place after The Need and The Wish. All Hell breaks lose after Serenity is sabotaged by The Alliance.

Chapter 2 -- Surrender

Jayne was suiting up, guns, ammo, grenades. River knew they were all futile. They were surrounded and she and her brother were to be taken. She watched him as he earnestly loaded Vera, she went to him, placing her hand over his.

"Stop," she said and he pulled away. She put her hands on his face. "Stop Jayne," she said again and he stopped for a moment to look at her

"Simon and I have to go willingly, quietly," she said and Jayne jaw clenched.

"You are pregnant, River. I'm not letting them take my wife and my child away from me," he said and she wrapped her arms around his waist.

"I don't want to lose you, either. That's exactly what would happen if you try to be some kind of one man army," she shook her head, tears fell from her eyes.

"You have to let us go, don't let them come here and take us by force, please Jayne," River said as her mind flash to her holding Jayne who was shot in the chest, then little Walker shot in the gut, Zoe stabbed in the chest. Inara with her neck broken, Kaylee strangled and Mal disemboweled. "Please Jayne I couldn't live if I was the cause of the thing
