Epilogue-- One year Anniversary
It was almost a year since Jayne and River became a couple. Adjustments were made both physically and mentally by the crew as a result. Jayne and River now lived in the Inara's old shuttle which River decorated in rich reds, oranges, and golds. Everyone had become accustomed to Jayne kissing River or River pinching Jayne's ass. Or Jayne tell ingRiver he loved her before a job, or River telling him she loved him back.
Though the couple was very much in love, they did have their fights. Sometimes physical, that lead to other physical activities, that made the Captain declare that anyone who gets caught sexin each other in the common area gets kicked off of his boat.
Even though River sometime complained about Jayne's overbearing nature publicly, privately she loved it. And even though Jayne publicly declared several times that River was still feng le as all Hell, privately he enjoyed when she taught him things or recited poetry to him. Their favorite time was after supper when they would sneak away to their shuttle and crawl into to bed, sometimes it was to make love and others it was to just hold each other and talk about the day, or the future, or the past. Jayne was humbled when River started to open up to him about the Academy though sometimes it left him feeling helpless about what she endured.
Jayne was really becoming attached to little Walk, when he wasn't busy with work he would play with the one year old and tell him stories, little Walk bonded so much with Jayne he started calling him Da da, even when Jayne corrected him.

Still...definitely have to agree with nvghostrider and say this was quite the ending. I am certainly glad you had them talk out the possibility of never having children and what it would mean to their relationship.
