The warm cloudy waters of the deep bath lapped softly at Kaylee’s upper chest. It was odd that in such a warm intimate moment between her and her lover and all she could think about was how many cubic centimeters of water were in the tub, and how much of a waste it was for just two people to be enjoying it… well not totally a waste. It did allow her and Inara to both enjoy the heat… and the warm water.

Kaylee smiled to herself as she laid her head against Inara’s shoulder, her thoughts warmly reliving how insistent the older woman had been that Kaylee join her. Kaylee knew the act was as much about getting clean as it wasn’t, but this was beside the point. She wanted to spend the time with Inara, close to her. Preferably pressed against her, in some fashion, not exclusively sexual in nature, it was the contact that was important.

Besides, Inara wanted her here and Kaylee wanted to be here. Kaylee had wanted this for so long that every moment was sacred. She closed her eyes, her body feeling the humidity of the room, her nose scenting the lavender bath oils Inara had put in.
