Blue Sun Room FICTION - ROMANCE

The Way of Jayne, Part 9

Friday, June 30, 2006

This one is more horror than romance, Kids, although there's a bit o' Jayne/Maeve at the sexin' again, because...well...it's what they DO, darlin'. Warnings here include torture and death, though not of any characters you care much about. I'm serious, now. If blood and gore and pain and bound-up torture ain't for you, please do not read this part. Thankee sai, and may your journey to the clearing in the path be a good one.

I owe two people debts of undying gratitude and love for not only proofing bits of this, but in SpacefullofObject's case for coming up with large chunks of the story-line in this part. The man's inspiration was invaluable, and I can never thank him enough, though I'll spend the rest of my life trying. SpacefullofObjects? Your stories are freakin' witty and stunningly beautiful and the mind behind them is equal to them. Here's proof: http://www.fireflyfans.net/fulluserbluesunlist.asp?un=spacefullofobjects. Y'all go read Spacie's goods, and believe me afterwards.

Engine Angel patiently and tirelessly read huge portions while vanquishing my tendencies to run-on sentences and tedious verboseness (there's a good example for you, neh?) Any and all mistakes in the story are purely the result of my own stubborn nature. Read on, ONLY if you can stand that, and the bad, bad torture scenes you're gonna be reading. Oh. And tell me what you think, okies? I need to know. Love you all. You Gentle Readers mean much to me.

The Way of Jayne, Part 9

Crazy Inga, who had until recently been a resident of the planet Jayne Cobb grew up on, had had a much younger brother, Adelai. He and she had been close – so close as to be more mother and son than sister and brother. Although she'd never married, in fact staying a virgin until her sixty-first year, she had taken on the raising of her young brother when their Russian father and German mother died in a murder-suicide pact. Inga had been 21 and Adelai six when they were both thrown into the new relationship – Inga adopting the role of both sister and mother to the boy. She trained him up to be a proud Aryan – pure of blood and pure of mind in hatred of anything not lily white. She raised him to shun anything that did not add to the riches in the family coffers and to detest things not dedicated to the cause of increasing their family's reputation as a superior race.

The last survivors of Adolf Hitler's direct family line via through their mother's DNA, Inga and

The torture was horrible....even though Wood did deserve it. I liked how you brought Niska into it. Interesting backstory for him.

Jayne's defense of Maeve and her turning the tables on the bad guys was great. And I like their re-affirmation of life as well.

Good to see you back Wash!

*both their parents died in a murder-suicide pact*

No wonder he is so fucked up.

*carrying a tarnished metal bucket and rags around with him in the house in case of repeated attacks*

eeewwwwwwwww :)

*Clear-Eyed Death*

Good Niska description.

I really like how you make Niska almost seem like a good guy by his reactions to his sister's corpse. I think a fic with him as the 'hero' would be really interesting to read, and yours comes damn close to that.

*sole sign of human frailty they’d yet seen in their ruthless leader*

Yeah, anything that can make Niska react like that will most certainly have some serious consequences, and I wouldn't be surprised if he had those men killed for seeing ihm in that weakened state, though I doubt that will happen in this story (we all know the future nephew-in-law is gonna die, and maybe you'll shed some light on that as I read on).

*fairy-tale farmboy turned legendary pirate had screamed his fair life away in a Pit of Despair*

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA !!!!!

Phew, they just did dodge a bullet with the henchmen.

Fuckin' nice touch with the swastika, damn woman, you can create such an image.

*Now I give you leave, go and await me in HELL*

Heh, Niska's gonna turn that place upside down when he finally gets there.

*I have a need to spend the urgings provoked by the night's exercises. I require a visit to my future mate*

I am sure it would disturb most people (it greatly amuses me) that the torture got him horny. Spectacular.

Washie, spectacular story as always, and it just makes me want more from ya. You have wonderfully written Niska's voice and personality. Glad you have those friends that helped you with the story, it made it even more enjoyable to read. Such descriptive writing is unparalled by all of the writers I regularly read, and that is indeed saying something.

Bookaddict, River, Bellona: You do me great honor! Thank you so much for easing my mind considerable about the torture aspects of this part of my fic. I was worried about it, needed to hear from readers that it wasn't gonna send y'all screaming, swearing never to read me again. Whew! Yeah. I'm okay now. Thankee sai, SO much for the swai reads and reviews. *Beams*

Okay Wash......

While I appreciate you mentioning me as helping you through some parts of this story, my dear...you made them flow, and work, completely. What ever ideas I may have fed you, dear, only a writer as good as you could have made them work as they do here.

Inspiration? The more YOU write, the more YOUR readers are inspired. You've inspired me and continue to do so. Works like this make some of us want to break out of our confinements and try something difficult. I know this whole piece was difficult for you to write...Gosh I know it was, but let me say this, it's perfect, perfect, perfect. True-to-form Washie, bringing the reader where they may not have the courage to go, but want to and do anyway.

The story....I love how you built a life around Niska, his past, his heritage, and his love for his sister. *Oh yes, her voice was his life to him, he loved it, loved her with a fierce and all-consuming ardor that burned away any chance of his loving another as much as he cherished his sister, Inga.* You gave him a soul and for a character such as Niska, that was a very tall task.

And Wood, thank you, thank you for allowing him to be suffering, even before his meeting with Niska. It brought me back to the depth of his deprevity, and made the dispatching of him easier. *but his bowels had been turning to water* Added satisfaction to that by the guilt that was doing numbers on his head too. This guy needed to go..and go badly.

And Washie...we all knew Niska to be a bad man...but you have created the moment where his badness, his inner nature burst forth...Where the "bad man" became altogether evil..*The only wail that had ever come close was when a fairy-tale farmboy turned legendary pirate had screamed his fair life away in a Pit of Despair.* I have the scream in my head, it is perfect true, Anakin Skywalker right after the death of his mother, but worse, it wiped away any hint of compassion Niska may have had left in the hole in his black heart.

Continuing...I could write TONS more, but will try to keep my comment, fewer words than your fic.

*Wood blathered out, "Bob-ah-Bob-ah..."* Me thinks our man may have a little speech impediment.

Another mark of a wonderful writer..you took me to the brink, then pulled me back in relief...a break to see the goings on between Jayne and Maeve. *"Oh my gosh, Maeve, you're killing me..."* Uh..Wash...I liked that line..really!

The torture of Wood..horror at its most horrible, and not being a fan of it made it difficult for me to read...but I had to...and did. The skinning, the bringing Wood back just so he could feel the burn of the brand on the remaining piece of flesh on his sternum. *"Inga was my SISTER, you miserable cretin! Now I give you leave, go and await me in HELL."* You have defined Adelai Niska and the evil that resides inside him.

ItsaWash.....I cannot wait for you to continue this story. I know it was hard for you to write this, and you had second thoughts about some content, but know this...its right, it fits. You've never held much back in the area of sensuality, and the horror you write in this part only shows the depth of your skill to work the reader. I loved it, loved it, loved it. I want more...soon, like maybe tomorrow?

If anyone has any problems or leaves you any negative feedback(I don't think thats gonna happen.) They either, haven't read The Way of Jayne, which btw..they need to, or they shouldn't venture outside the realm of the comedy section of this board.

Send em' my way...I'll tell em' that myself.

Ok word of advice to people reading the torture part....one: do not have an excedingly vivid imagination.
Two: do not listen to a grindcore band like Carcass....the whole experiance is way to real.
Washie hun, love how Niska has justification for his actions and how its all bout his gettin some back. Makes his see like a nice psycopath, instead of a cold one.
keep it commin.
P.S. Black Hole Sun was a good touch.

This was magnifico! The way you brought in Niska, described his history in beautiful detail and how he became as we saw in the series was at once chilling and just so very telling.

Wood's death was so very well deserved and the torture wonderfully done!

If you're not writing novels professionally, you should be.
