Author's Note:
MIGHTY BIG THANK YOU goes to Defender--my partner in crime who has always come through to help me make this thing the best it can be.
The MIGHTY BIG APOLOGY still stands for anyone who can read and speak French, Cajun or Chinese. The translations as I understand them are included, except the more vicious Chinese swearing. Any browncoat worth their salt knows all those anyway.

Heartbroken - Part 6
He's here. One in a crowd, alone but not in his own mind. A wolf in disguise, living among sheep who had no idea what he was, what he could become.
River moved among the people from Sayabec--not all, for there had been more on Pont Breaux who could not fathom leaving Acadia behind and did not recognize the claim of the one who dared call herself Archon. These who flew away from the station on board Zirondelle were the faithful who believed the new Archon would lead them well and understood
You can't take the sky from me
I've already said this to Ali personally, but thanks all the same!
Still, I have to say that, if I was not already a FFF I'd have had a tough time with the setting as there is little there to give me a feel of the ship. Perhaps a little more of the sound of boots on metal grating, or sitting snug and cozy under the graceful arch of the hull, or describing the warmth in color of the different areas where they are in the ship might have given me a better mental picture as well as less of an urge to write long, run-on sentences.
If you were writing this for the show, then ignore the previous blather. If that were the case, I'd just say "Gosh! That was cool!" and leave it at that.
"Fils de putain ce maux" was taken from a Cajun glossary, not a French one which may be some cause for the confusion.
nRkangel:
thanks! Not just for the kudos, but for the critique. I did write this part with more emphasis on the human characters than on the 10th character of Firefly. Seems the previous parts had more of that. I'll be sure to keep it in mind for the future! When I said confusion before, of course I meant my own, not yours.

With...
Mathematics?!?
I liked how River's feeling him out, by the way.
And the knowledgable glances between Wash and Zoe concerning Jordain...
