“That women is trying to destroy me!” Mal exclaimed as he walked hurriedly back into the cargo hold. “I am getting off this planet.” He looked at the paper Zoe had found, they'd found several dozen more like it plastered all over town. 'His town' He paced back and forth erratically glancing down at the paper periodically before finally screaming loudly and tearing it up. Mal yelled into the com unit. “Wash! Lift her up, we're off this world.”

“What about the job? What's going on? Zoe? Guys?” Wash's confused voice sounded from the small com unit.

“Sir, perhaps we should make sure everyone is on board. Kaylee was going to rotate the synchronizers and she has to do that planetside, Sir.”

Mal began to pace around the cargo bay once again. “No wait, that's letting her win! She ruined everything before, I'm not going to let her do it again.” 'She's not chasing me from my home ever again.' Mal thought to himself before he pulled the comm back up to his mouth and interrupted Wash's continuous questions. “Forget that Wash, we're staying right here.”

“What's the plan sir?” Zoe asked, nervous about Mal's behavior. She knew what that women had done to him in the past, how it had effected him. Mal turned to face Zoe and Jayne, as well as Simon and Book who had wondered in to investigate all the shouting. Mal clenched his jaw in a scowl; he meant business.

“We're going drinkin'.”

Wash, Zoe, Jayne, and Kaylee all accompanied Mal into the small towns only tavern. Inara had opted out of their little adventure, Zoe had been the one standing behind Mal when he'd asked her. Simon and River were going to come but then River had a little breakdown and they'd opted out. Book thought Simon might need some he

Yeah I'll say hilarity ensues.
I could easily imagine the infirmary scene. Everyone laughing at Mal, Mal getting frustrated 'cause no one listened to him.
Very funny! You did good duckie :P

Infirmary scene was hysterical. Would have loved to have seen Simon go drinking again, though.... just what would his reaction to Kaylee have been this time, now that they're closer?

And if this is after OiS, River seems to be getting better. Or she was relatively coherent in that episode, anyway.

Good stuff once again. :) I agree that the infirmary scene is classic Firefly and I can visualize it taking place too - even with Inara eavesdropping and having her emotions swell up upon what she hears. This seems like an actual FF episode. Nice job - keep it up.

Poor Mal, he really does redefine the meaning of the word stupid this time round. I just hope he thinks getting shot in the butt was worth yanking Clair's chain. Ali D :~)

*“What's the plan sir?”
“We're going drinkin'.”*

Wonderful Mal/Zoe dialogue.

*“Ya know, some people consider me a hero.”*

LOL, good drunk Jayne line. Interesting that he is talking freely about the mudder who died for him too, though alcohol does reduce inhibitions.

WOOHOO for Mal kissing and smacking Claire's ass, and yay for the necessary plot element of him getting shot in his own. Guess I need to start writing mine.

And yay for Inara's jealousy, good stuff doll.

Sweet! I love the infirmary chat. Mal got grazed - ah hell, he got shot in the butt!!

And I can the whole crew watching his butt get fixed. Damn - I wish they'd filmed that. :)
