Chapter 6 of Trials and Redemptions - Posted!
Friday, 02 May 2008 05:44:02

Hi everyone! New chapter is up, as always, appreciate any and all constructive criticism or comments! I'm having some unexpected difficulty with Chapter 7. It's now in it's fourth different draft, and I'm still not sure I like it. Hopefully I'll get it straightened out soon, but please be patient! Much better to get it right the first time than have you all read something bad, no? :) As previously noted, please refer to my first entry if you're a new reader and are looking for that explanatory note. You can find a link it below. Hope everyone is enjoying the story!

Fun with editing...
Saturday, 03 May 2008 16:37:37

I've been browsing the BBC Doctor Who website, and discovered a cool wee feature. Basically you can edit your own 30 second Doctor Who trailer, with a selection of clips, sound effects and special effects. My old film editing skills were put to good use when I put this together: (SPOLIER ALERT: There's a blend of season 2, 3 and 4 in here.) This is waaay too much fun! Here's a link:

Backstory of Shinyfrye
Saturday, 03 May 2008 20:33:48

Shiny was born on harvest to a very rich and powerful family. She was molded to be a perfect women that the alliance would approve of. She made her family proud by excelling in her etiquitte Training. Shiny was not happy and her family sensed it so they had arranged for her to marry a high ranking offical in the alliance. The day she joined Tranquility she was on her way to pick up her wedding dress,(she was to be married the next day). She saw the posting the capt sent out looking for a mechanic, she joined that day and never looked back. The boats her home and the crew her family.

Renaissance Faire
Sunday, 04 May 2008 02:37:25

When to the Renaissance Faire in Muskogee OK. My wife and I had a wonderful time there, saw the Beldom Bards (not a bad group). Since my wife is from the Phillippines a Renaissance Faire is new to her. She had a great time. The weather was great but we did have some storms here in Arkansas, the town where my family has land was hit by a tornado causing damage to a distance relation. My brother went there to check on the old family house and other things.

A day to remember..
Sunday, 04 May 2008 18:44:52

So, it was my niece's birthday today. Ol' 'Star Wars Day' as it's lovingly called.. xD Btw, no.. We never bought her any Star Wars related toys.. At least, not this year.. We stopped giving her Mr Potato Heads in the form of Darth Vader and C3PO a long time ago now.. xD Anyway.. I bought her a Spiderman 3 ball thingy that changes shape. (Essentially from a disc to a ball.) I know what you're thinking - it's a typical guy thing to do.. It's cliche for guys to buy presents that they want themselves.. BUT, and this is a big BUT.. When my niece was receiving treatment at hospital last month, my niece, sis, mum and myself ended up playing with this Spiderman ball thingy together in the ward.. It was a riot, and even caught the attention of another wee girl patient, who joined in. It was an ideal birthday gift, 'cause my niece was just ending herself, while we constantly waited for it to change shape and pop up on the table! It was SO much fun.. Anywho.. We had a wee party at my sis's house, and I spent most of the day there. My sis whacked on a Hannah Montana DvD, and I got completely hooked on watching it. Hahahaha! Billy Rae Syrus is in that, if you remember him back in the early 90s.. I've heard of Hannah Montana, but never realised how fucking funny and cool that show really is, and I'm not afraid to say that.. Also, I ended up watching a music channel, and all of these no.1 hits from the 90's.. That really made me feel nostalgic.. There were some great hits back in the day, and some total shite.. (Like the Mr Blobby song.. Although, I do miss 'Noel's House Party', set in Crinkly Bottom.) xD I have to mention the hunt for the small caramel coloured balls.. That was quite funny. They were part of a Thomas the tank engine playset. I remember seeing them still in their packet, on the floor, (and at my feet), but we never found them. The house pratically ended up becoming a CSI crime scene looking for them. Hahahaha! My sis was pitching a fit while we looked, and my mum couldn't help but laugh.. It was classic.. So, yeah.. Today was cool.. Memorable to say the least.. I'm gonna have some birthday cake now that was brought back..

A new week
Monday, 05 May 2008 03:29:25

Today is Sunday the end of the week to some and the begining to others. Me, it's an off day. Time to finish mowing the back yard. Because of the rain we have had here of late the back yard looks like the jungles of South American. When I was mowing I thought I might find an lost tribe in the high grass, but no such luck. On top of mowing, my wife's car died. Had to get a new battery for it Glad that happened here and not when we were on the road like the other day. I go back to work, on a new shift (1600 Hrs to 2400Hrs) which is okay because I'll be working with people that I enjoy working with. Well that is all for now.

Questions in Space
Monday, 05 May 2008 17:52:51

I'll put this on a thread...later...when it's more complete, because there is definately more to come: ' **THE NEW ONES**(Of which category--'Big' or 'Eensy'? Consider 'em....'new'.) 1.) So there's Alliance who/what/where files on everybody 'cept Inara. How old IS she? 2.) If River's so off-the-charts "intuitive"---a reader, etc., the question I never got over(and only suppressed through my love of the Fruity Oaty Bar song)was HOW DID THEY TRICK HER INTO GOING TO THE ACADEMY IN THE FIRST PLACE? Wouldn't her "riversense" tell her "Heyyy, slow down a minute here, River. Them there look like pretty bad folks. I'm gettin' baaaad vibes off the wave the Academy sent to my dedicated sourcebox." Or maybe there are no 'vibes' in cyberspace...or whatever we use in 500 years... 3.) In the utterly famous cantina scene in Serenity where River goes all Miranda on the other customers, WHY does she HESITATE to shoot Mal? Other than it looking like a space-age western...:D Here follows the old, boring stuff:(pre-5/19/08) THE BIG QUESTIONS 1.) What IS in Inara's syringe? (seen in the scene where a Reaver boarding is discussed as a possibility)I always assumed it was poison so she could kill herself (and possibly others) if captured by Reavers rather than face a fate 'worse than death'. Joss said it's not. So now the theories abound... 2.) What was the purpose of River in Alliance hands? Some think she was supposed to become a kind of Operative(how similar are they?), and that there would be this galaxywide sort of Treadstone project... But is 'Miranda' an unconcious trigger or a deliberate cover-up trigger? 3.) In "War Stories", River 'does the math'---a shameless example of trying to exalt her skills to math phobics---and lethally shoots Kaylee's 3 assailants with barely a glance. (Scary yesss preciousss...) Does anyone remember the integral calculus name for this? There's also a statistics name for it,using a different set of concepts, but unfortunately I can't remember either right now...only so much remains when your recall centers have been stripped by those who want to overload them...ha... THE EENSY ONES 1.)Is Joss going to be sued by the makers of Alien for incorporating the Weyland-Yuitani logo into Firefly? (Yes, I lose sleep over this) 2.) What is Joss' theatrical intention with all the shots of River's feet? 3.) Where is the scene with these "space insects" I keep hearnin' about? (Kaylee WAS right--"Don't let the...space bugs...bite!") 4.)What is Badger's obsession with flamingoes? 5.) If in her "they're hurting us, get me out" letters to Simon, River says 'Did you like the [Darlington's] ball? I thought it was duller than last year.", why wasn't anyone screening them at the Academy tipped off by the sheer fallacious logic? Although Simon gets what his parents don't (i.e., they don't know anyone with that name and therefore something else is being said) how could River even attend their fictious ball since she's at the Academy?

SUPERKABBALISTICEXPOSALIDOCIOUS
Tuesday, 06 May 2008 11:18:03

Bell.Book and Candle - deleted scene With a movement Bell activated yet another of his creations and whirling and whirring with the tinker bell sounds of a child's music box, the mechanical device went through its motion like some sort of funfair merry-go-round. Book was absorbed watching the swoop and glide of the small globes as they passed by and between one another. There were - he noticed - two sizes of sphere. Almost like planets and moons. "Do you know what this is?" asked Bell - his voice taking on a peculiar avid tone. Whatever it was, thought Book, it was clearly pride and joy of the collection - precious. Tread tactful. The Shepherd was not surprised that Bell didn't wait for an answer from the preacher. "It is an astrolabe. D'you see?" Book was becoming curious now - Is that temptation? . "I'm not sure." Was he talking to himself now? "An astrolabe is a working map of the stars." "Yes - I am familiar with the term." He was remembering quite suddenly the planetarium he had visited as a child. "Watch closely," Bell advised. "Have you heard of the Kabala?" Ah. So - that was it. Book kept his face as inscrutable as possible. "Vaguely," he said, "in the Abbey, I believe. Now let me see - an old system of belief, is that so? Some sort of - myth... cosmology." "I suppose you could say that..." Bell had all the glee of a stage magician about to reveal his favourite trick. Book disliked that. "It was very primitive as I recall. Yes, a map - supposedly linking the Earth to... yes, other worlds. Fanciful, very fanciful." "Yet here we are." Bell said stonily - and Book realised he gone too far, thought hard for something to... Yes. "Then Candle is on here?" Bell smiled and pointed to one of the globes. "This, you could say is Candle, one of the five Beacon worlds.” Bell pressed an ear close to whirling globe. “A beautiful melody, don't you agree?" "I'm sorry - I prefer something a little more... rugged." "Ah. Of course." "But I was wondering, were there not more worlds in that system? There may have been five, uh, beacons - as you say - but that surely is no accurate reflection of -" Bell cut him off with a gesture. "How very obtuse," he snarled. "Five worlds - five ships. See?" He pointed to one of the smaller globes - moving in a concentric circle and dancing past 'Candle' once with each rotation. "That," said Bell, as if Book were slow, "makes ten." “It makes whatever you want it to I’m sure,” Book said disinterestedly. Bell sneered. “Well I found it to have very practical applications when I was mapping the Mind-Brain interface. It’s a funny thing the Mind-Brain interface…” a deliberate pause for effect, “a River runs through it.” Book was startled – jumping from the chair – or rather trying to. He didn’t seem able to move. "Unimpressed?” Bell was so disappointed. “Oh. Well, in that case perhaps I should wrap you in mystery; shadows and wonder... become the Great Mage whose power is revealed with one magical movement from Kether to Malkuth*. Or, uh, Mal - if you'd prefer heh, heh." ……………………………. Not as deranged as it may seem – the ten linked spheres from Crown to Earth, Kether to Malkuth, make for an interesting reading of Firefly’s 10 inter-linked characters (inc Serenity) and their various qualities. Hell, Malkuth – Malcolm, aint much of a stretch. Also – the abyss can be seen as ‘the black’, the missing 11th sphere 'Knowledge'as Mr Universe... On the other hand – Kabala already? Madonna right? Yeh, bored now. And yeh – one time I joined the dots in a picture and made a real nice car - then mom said it shoulda been a donkey. Waaah!:( * Gratuitous bowie alert.

Blame the Space Monkeys
Tuesday, 06 May 2008 21:14:09

Yes, I have been delayed in posting the next installment of Cat's crusade, I have it wrote, but it needed a bit of spit shine. Kaylee let the monkeys loose again and it did a number on my script. (Truthfully, allergy season is killing me.) I promise it will be there tomorrow for all my loyal readers. Enjoy the ride!!!

Wednesday, 07 May 2008 16:26:42

I was beginning to wonder if this would ever happen again, but there I was, lost in the oblique folds of unconsciousness with silent night all around. And the folds deepened, the night was forgotten and a wash of brightness was before me, in a small room that looked conspicuously like my sitting-room. But brighter than usual. Even the door. And on the other side of the door I could hear the soft-shod footsteps. I opened the door, and for a moment I was speechless: there she was. "River!" The whole room darkened in the brightness of her smile. "Hi, Chris." "Where've you been hiding?" "You need a hug." "What ever gave you that impression?" She smiled knowingly and came into the room and closed the door. "You've been working too hard. Too hard and too much." "Gee, ya think?" I acknowledged with a chortle. "Putting a damper on my health for sure." "You need to forget it." River's voice was soft and warm and her eyes shone. She looked more like Cameron, but Cameron has no way of knowing what's on my mind and thereby knowing what I need. No, this was River. My sweet, strong, loving and beloved River. "You need to forget all about it just for a little while," she went on as she came close to me. "You need to feel better. What would make you feel better than this?" With that, she opened her arms and closed them around me, and squeezed ever so gently. "Not a whole hell of a lot," I confessed as I hugged her in return. I hadn't felt this in so long. Felt her so close, felt her embrace, felt this feeling that I can't ever seem to have in real life, the feeling of being loved. I rested my head on hers, but only in the briefest before I felt it stir and looked down to her. She was still smiling, bright and sweet and with an affection I've never known, when she looked up at me: then she seemed to levitate in my arms, and she kissed me. Tender at first, and then firm, then long and slow and sensual. As only River ever has.

Some things are shinier than others
Wednesday, 07 May 2008 17:33:43

So this weekend I went to this wedding. The weekend before that I went to a wedding. And the weekend two weeks before that I went to a wedding. On the 15th of March I had two weddings to choose from. Next month there is another wedding. I am tired of weddings. And that is all I have to say about that. Then, there is the swamp developing in my bathroom. The drip drip of the leaking geyser through the ceiling is turning into a form of chinese water torture that may just give Adelai Niska the chance to SEE WHO I REALLY AM! On that not I have a different take. Just give someone lots to drink - soon you will see who they really are! Whoo-hoo bring the tequila!

need a lawman's opinion
Thursday, 08 May 2008 01:07:25

ok, everyone here seems to be a pretty smart bunch of people from all different walks of life, and I was hoping someone could give me some advice. I am interested in buying a handgun, and the laws for Washington State aren't very clear in regards of who can and cannot have one and how they can and cannot carry it. I checked the RCW, and it says nobody under 21 can have a pistol, and I'm 18, so you'd think this is a no brainer. But, it also mentions a list of exceptions, including being on your way to or from a shooting club or legal outdoor activity. To top it all off, Cabelas has a minimun age limit of 18 for buying a cap and ball revolver, so now I'm really confused. Mainly, I just wanted to know if theres some sortof permit I can get or something so that I can carry (preferably concealed, but I have no problem with open cary) while I'm hiking and fishing out at the corner of no and where. Also, I'm interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement/park ranger/game warden, so if you know anything about any programs where an 18 year old could do something like that over the summer, i'd love to hear about it.

Working on my Fanfic skills
Thursday, 08 May 2008 16:25:08

I've been working on a new fanfic. This time around I'm spending a lot of time on the planning, since the story arc didn't sit too well with everyone last time. It was a learning experience. :-) I've already spent a couple weeks on planning it, and I'm guessing it'll be another week before I start writing. The story goes a bit into Inara's history. I have a few theories about it. Nothing epic, but still fun and interesting to explore.

What am I doing wrong?
Friday, 09 May 2008 13:31:22

Yeah....ain't rightly sure what I was expecting with the fanfic (The Guns of Yamenmiao). I post it in five different places on five different days of the week, but since liftoff it's had a steady decline in readership - in fact only two people have responded to the latest chapter all week. That bein' the case,

A Rightful Plug
Friday, 09 May 2008 15:27:43

Please make sure and read "Origin of Werzbowski". It will give insight into Cat's partner, making him more than just the crazy man with gun. It's a very good and needs to be read. After all, what's a good story without a few sidelines.

OOPS!
Friday, 09 May 2008 17:15:05

Ok... well frak... I frakkin' well frakked up. I posted my fic with an ugly continuity error in it. Serves me right, I suppose, for writing the middle after the end. For those of you who noticed it, I'm sorry, and I'll fix it soonest. For those of you who missed it... please disregard this blog. - 'Ski

Alrighty Then.

A new webcomic (not so new...but that's not the point)
Friday, 09 May 2008 18:33:43

Found this webcomic today, called "Save Hiatus"

Survival: what happened?
Friday, 09 May 2008 23:00:59

Okay, as some of you may know, I had this fanfic series going called Survival. This series was not exactly the greatest thing I've ever written, but I'm ok with that. I made the mistake of introducing a new character, Steve, and I profoundly thank everyone who told me that he was too over the top. For those of you interested in a little insight into my character, keep reading, if not, skip this paragraph. Steve was formed becouse I was sitting on the toilet one day, and I got this crazy idea, "what would happen if Mal, Jayne, Wash, and Simon went camping?" naturaly there were some problems with my origanal concept, and I had to add my one alter ego, Steve. Steve was what I thought I would be like had I lived in the 'Verse. There were problems with Steve, and some of them have been fixed. I plan on writing more soon, and there may be a revelation when that happens, but no promises. Ok, the last instalment in my serries was about a year ago, and I'm going to start writing it again. In this past year, I have improved as a writer, and I am looking forward to cranking out more adventures, however, I'm quite certain that this may be the last set of stories that I write with Steve in them. I have other characters that I would like to see thrown into the mix (can you say fictional representation of my history teacher?) Thanks to everyone who has stuck with it since the begining. I am currently taking requests as to what you think might be a cool direction for my story to take. I hope that your contributions will spark an idea that I never would have thought of. THE BIG QUESTION IS, if I keep writing, will you lot keep reading, or do you want to see something new? I ask becouse I have two conflicting ideas in mind right now; one is a continuation of Survival, and the other is something completely different, but kindof similar, and your input will help me make up my mind wich one I should put my energy into. Thanks

Uni, Spain and River
Sunday, 11 May 2008 00:21:30

Uni ends on 22nd of May for me meaning that I can get to grips with my fanfic. I went on holiday to Spain for a week with a friend it was great although I don't remember asking River to come along. She came anyway. everywhere I went she was there, new lines of dialogue in my head or looks on her face, it could have been the booze but, I'm not convinced I think it was her character and the wonderful world of firefly. Any thoughts. Got better days #2 the other day and loved it.

I missed my 2nd anniversary!
Sunday, 11 May 2008 17:41:24

I've been lurking about this place for two years. How about that? Granted, I've been slow to post recently (say the last six months or so!) but that's not to say that I've lost interest or even stopped writing. I'm just trying to craft something beyond a basic scene or two. Part of my head lives out in the Black permanently, I suppose. I'm waiting on the collected 'Better Days' at present - you want the good stuff, go to the source - and retooling my 'Zen' sequel. I've got a little jammed with the start-up, because I've taken it in a different direction to the original conception. But I've also been working on a little something else, a collaborative affair. Yep, there's someone out there as mad as I am; the fun bit will be finding out if you guys can spot the joins when our unwieldy monster lurches onto the scene and starts ripping it up. In RL, still have no kitchen, and a house that looks like, well, the shipyard Mal got 'Serenity' from. Only dustier. And with more saucepans. The Black seems like a good place to be at the mo.

Hello

New to this, but avid and life long fan of Firefly/Serenity. All i can say is that it was an awesome show, and i want to see more.

Old ideas.. Fresh outlook..
Sunday, 11 May 2008 18:35:06

On Thursday night, I decided to be spontaneous and draw something from my imagination. No reference photos were used in its production. Although, I might have been subconsciously channelling ‘number thirteen’ at one point, while watching the latest episode of House MD. Ahem.. *Clears throat.* Luckily, I managed to get away from that aesthetically pleasing likeness, and stuck to my original concept. Hang in there.. This is all relevant.. Lately, I’ve been toying with the resurrection of my first ever original story. (All of this short story writing for the sci-fi magazine has resparked old, powerful ideas.) This is something that goes back at least nine years now, when I was still at college. The notion of creating my own universe and cast of characters has never really left me, no matter how much I try to move on.. Back then, I wanted to write a sci-fi drama that was set in the present day. Something with paranormal undertones that hadn't already been done to death. However, the whole thing never got off the ground. The characters that I'd created, however, stuck with me. I decided to revisit my characters through the medium of art, just to see if I could rekindle that old creative buzz. This is an old process that I can still remember doing all those years back. But, I feel that the passage of time, and some more life experience will help me look at this in a slightly more focused manner now. Plus, my art has changed a lot since then. So, on Thursday night, I envisaged my main character, after a long hiatus. I honestly feel more comfortable having another crack at figuring everything out. There's something deep inside that won't let this go, and I've come to accept that. (A typical writer's mentality, perhaps.) I've enjoyed rediscovering the appearance of these 'old friends', so to speak. So, here's the sketch in question. Once again. I used no reference, and it's purely from my imagination. I think that I've finally nailed the likeness that's been floating around in my noggin all of these years. The running joke is that I'd been envisioning Evangeline Lilly long before she came into the public eye. :) This is my main protagonist, called Tasha. (I hope to sketch the next main character 'Christian' soon.)

Saw OMR Saturday night. Even though I know the episode almost word for word, I still laugh like it's the first time when ...well, all through the episode. At the end, when Mal visits Inara, and compliments her on how graceful she is.... what a great scene. Mal: " I knew you let her kiss you " Inara: Priceless look of speechless disbelief.

Happy Mother's Day
Monday, 12 May 2008 06:30:00

Well I hope everyone had a happy mother's day. My mother and wife did. My father and I took them out to lunch . Not much is going on, I have changed shifts at work. Now I work the four in the afternoon to midnight shift (1600 hrs to 0000 hrs) which is okay with me. I get to spend more time with my wife. Before we both have to go to work.

Still Spreading the Signal
Monday, 12 May 2008 18:16:11

Well, be proud of me. I have officially brought another browncoat into the fold. Granted he won't be on here that much, but I got my tattoo artist hooked on Serenity and Firefly. I lent him my set of Dvds, (yes, it almost killed me) and then bought him a copy of the movie. He loves it and is going to buy the series this week. See there are still ones out there. Got one of my other friends hooked last month and he bought both the series and the movie too. Take that Fox!!! :censored:

What an awesome weekend
Monday, 12 May 2008 19:07:09

Hi there. I had the best weekend ever. Actually it started on Thursday when I went to see Jethro Tull (again). They were brill and played a load of their older songs; including Living in the Past which is one of my faves. I spent the weekend in Birmingham at a Supernatural Con which was amazing. Check out my site

THE WASH
Tuesday, 13 May 2008 02:28:07

So far our vitual firefly has turned out pretty nice, captain missing and all. It's all working out quite nicely. I'm glad to be their doctor because, after all, "Helping people... that's... important!"

I get so annoyed
Tuesday, 13 May 2008 03:02:01

I like to write. I really do. But it's one thing to know the end and some of the things in between the beginning and the end and then to flesh out the story. So, you know what you want to ultimately happen, you even know (kinda) what goes on along the way. But hen you have to fill it in, flesh it out, make it all cohesive and linear. Or not. It's a pain. I know what happens, but I can't just invite you into my head and show you. I guess you can say I'm feeling stilted. Not blocked per se, just frustrated. :finger:

A big F-ing thank you
Tuesday, 13 May 2008 16:14:31

A great big :censored: thank you to all my friends and fellow riders that have been following Cat's story. Thank you for not giving up on me. I promise lots more adventures and lots more creepy stuff within the weeks to come. You all just rock my socks!!! By the way, to all who comment, a bigger thank you! You encourage me to write more and write better. Everyone loves being praised for their work and I can't improve if you don't tell me how.

Here are the photoshoot pics from the weekend. Sorry they're so big

sitting in the corner
Wednesday, 14 May 2008 00:25:24

Wrote myself into a wee bitty corner. Don't know how to get out without killing off characters I'd really rather not. Haven't gotten the muse to drop by for tea in quite some time. Perhaps I should try offering her whiskey? Maybe if I just stop caring about it and watch the series again it will all fall into place.

Annoyed by work
Wednesday, 14 May 2008 01:31:19

I have a great job. The crew that I work with is great but there are a few people on other shifts that make life very annoying for the rest of us. One thing is their assumeing about things which happen. Instead of seeking the truth about a matter, they would rather make an assumed decision about the matter. What a bunch of (very unnice words go here)people. To make matters worst they are in leadership positions but how they got those position is one of favoritism from my boss. Oh, well like my Great Grand Father said, "You give someone enought rope and they'll hang themself". I can't wait until that happens.

Why
Wednesday, 14 May 2008 13:23:53

Why? It's something I ask a lot, about a variety of things. Sometimes it comes with melodramatic body movement, sometimes just with a whine. I ask why about tv series a lot. It seems every time a show comes along and captures my attention, it's cancelled. Dresden Files, Surface, Farscape and Firelfy. Firefly was special, and I think that was its doom. The Gods of TV don't know what to do with something special, something unique, something that isn't the reality show flavour of the month. One of my favourite anime series is Cowboy Bebop and Firefly had a bit of the same spirit. I miss it a lot, but at least I have the box set and movie. And maybe another one at some point, who knows?

Patience, My Pet....
Wednesday, 14 May 2008 13:44:03

Thought the title woould attract attention. Anywho, I thought I would let all my readers know that the next installment in the Cat series will be posted on THURSday. I have also been thinking of working to write a sequel to this and am interested in what you all think. Let me know. You guys, as always, are way too good to me to be real, but I'll take it as a kindness and go on with the show.

Aboard the WASH
Wednesday, 14 May 2008 23:48:57

Ni hao all. I'm the First Mate and Public Relations official aboard the WASH, and its been really shiny, despite the disappearance of Walker, our original captain. Anyhow, we got ourselves a new captain, and shes doing a great job. The crew is awesome(even the unexpected members), and theres never a dull moment.

The WASH!
Thursday, 15 May 2008 00:51:43

Yep, since Blueredgreen and Spinebite already did this I thought I would too. I'm the pilot on the WASH and it's been alot of fun so far. The shuttle side trip I did with Tillie was great. Even though CaptainWalker (which the folks over on the BOOK suspect to be invictus12, and i agree) has left us I still think things have went just fine without him. Zero makes a better captain anyhow! :P I would just like to say that Tillie, Zero, Upper, Spine, and BRG has made this very enjoyable for me (even though I don't do much roleplaying)and they are all shiny! Ok, I guess I'm done! :P

Spinning Out is finished...Chapter 6 Posted!
Thursday, 15 May 2008 17:33:57

My fanfic, Spinning Out, is now complete. It was a 46,000 word endeavor that I'm quite pleased with. I will soon begin outlining the second arch of stories.

Preview of sorts
Thursday, 15 May 2008 17:35:33

Hoping to get it out before this weekend but... Just thought I would give you a taste of what's to come. Flashback to the day our happy couple get married.....I thought it would be a change of pace and answer a few asked questions about the wife and hubby part. And why Cat could possibly marry someone who is not Mal. Of course, it was all 'Ski's fault. Hope you all will love the trip down memory lane and our regular action will resume soon after.

Mad Dogs and Browncoats Go Out in the Midday Sun
Thursday, 15 May 2008 19:50:34

Riding a bike is kind of a zen thing, much like swimming laps. I kind of go somewhere else, lose myself in the action. Today I serenaded anyone else crazy enough to be out in the 92 degree heat with the Firefly theme. And I thought about a naked Mal sitting on that rock in 'Trash'. And I pedalled a little bit faster, lol. Now, I'm sitting here, sipping on chilled green tea, surfing the net and looking at Firefly and Serenity videos on You Tube. Shiny.

The Human Struggle
Friday, 16 May 2008 05:47:31

I finally posted my Serenity-centric fanfic, A New 'Verse. Should be a lot of fun, with plenty of new and old friends, blood, arse-kickin', planning, plotting and possibly scheming. Thanks to those kids who have already commented on it! Especially Angellemarcs, whose fic I am loving at the moment! And thanks to Xynk for constructive criticism-I kinda figured there was something wrong with Serenity getting away from the pirates, but hey, I'm just gonna make something up right now and say that the pirate ship is a short-range fighter and can't do that thingy that Serenity does. hmm better add that to Part 2... And this fic is semi-inspired by stuff from Chronicles of Riddick, Alien (without the alien, obviously), Prison Break, Battlestar Galactica and Sin City-y'know, the usual! I also hope you enjoyed my one shot stories and my posters, which might crop up again in the future. And can I say it was very cool for me to have Jetflair and Amdobell to comment on the last one, my Wash piece, Glimpse. You guys are legends and it made my day! Oh and if anyone tries to contact me, do not use the message box! I don't have access to that email anymore. my email is crowscavenger7@hotmail.com Can't Stop The Signal Stormwind

Origin of Werzbowski
Friday, 16 May 2008 19:39:47

Just a little bump to bring my fic back to the forefront. Angellemarcs' wonderful fanfic continues, and I thought readers might like another chance to read about Werzbowski's early formative years.

Inspiration behind Cat
Saturday, 17 May 2008 04:22:52

A few people have asked my where i came up with this idea. Well, I thought about the Early and his character and I thought what if....what if Mal had a woman before Serenity, an assassin of sorts that tried to kill him, but couldn't because she was looking for her own grip on reality and there it was. I like Inara, I just never felt she needed him. I mean Mal needs to be needed by the woman he loves, like Serenity needs someone to fly her. As for 'Ski, well, Cat needed a bad ass partner and who else but the very cocky but always entertaining Werzbowski. So that's my stand and I'm sticking to it.

The wash: escape from Mundania
Saturday, 17 May 2008 09:09:14

Well, seems like this needs to be done! Thanks to everyone on the wash! It's been fun so far! Tillie and tater are really sweet, in the beginning there i thought I was going to starve, but they fed me! CommanderZero turned out to make a good captain, eventhough it was unintentional, and the good doctor seems to know his stuff, despite his mysterious past that he will not reveal to satisfy my curiosity! Also I am currently spending some time with our public relations officer trying to learn how to kill people. We seem to spend more time trying to piss each other off though! :) So I would just like to thank you all for the opportunity to periodically escape from Mundania! Cheers!

Back to our regularly secheduled Progam

So flashback over and now on with the show! New chapter post for Monday!!! And one more twist to keep the juices flowing!

Rambling from a writer
Sunday, 18 May 2008 00:24:16

With uni just about in the bag I think I can finally relax and return to my firefly fanfic Someone to carry you. With two betas recruited and a outline for chapter one on the way surely even I can write a piece worthy of remembrance in the 'verse? My one problem is that when I think of the BDS I only get one image of a girl with the wind in her hair and that as always is one River Tam, I fear, dare I say it my love and curiosity may sway me, thought against my better judgement to places in my fanfic i do not or are not ready to go. I only hope my betas can save me from that fate.

Another "FUN" week
Sunday, 18 May 2008 06:24:32

Well another week has gone by and yet more "fun" is going on at work. This time all shifts were split into two groups and each group is working 12 hours shifts (I have the 18:00 hrs to 06:00 hrs) but we get three days off and 8 hrs over time per week. I do not know how long this will last but I believe it will last until the troops here are finished training. Also did any one catch the Firefly shows that were on Sci-Fi on Friday, I think four hours of shows but I do not remember which ones off hand. Had to go to work and missed it.

Well, gang it's been a rough coupla weeks here..I've somehow re injured my blasted sholder and it's taking forever to heal up.....I can manage about ten minutes at the drawing board before having to give it a rest...I wish I could figure out just what I did that resulted in this bout of ib800 use.....ah, well, must be that I'm not eighteen any more.... on the plus side I finally got an xbox360 and halo3..Nathan is in there quite a lot...as is Adam and Alan...I've played through a couple of times and can get Nathan and Adam right off, but, I still haven't nailed down Alan's part...So untill next time... New Content.
Sunday, 18 May 2008 20:36:21

I bought a new digital camera today, which I'm fair chuffed about. Recently, I've been taking steps to develop/define my DeviantART gallery, since I bought a subscription, and new tools are part of that process. I felt that I'd reached the limitations of the old one, and really needed a change before it started to damage my muse. Here's the first batch of images with the new camera: Inspiration.

Still Flyin'...
Monday, 19 May 2008 01:29:45

Hey All, Hope y'all are still enjoying my stories. Please remember to read all disclaimers (I don't want anyone reading what's not their cup of tea). There is a General Fic and a few Erotica stories under my Blue Sun Items. I do still hope to write more but life has been hectic as of late. Thanks, as always, for reading my stuff! Much Shininess, ~Kessa (YoSaffBrig)

I'll be speakin' atcha from a big-ass movie screen....
Monday, 19 May 2008 12:15:27

....come CSTS movie night at the Coolidge Corner Theater in Boston! The third weekend in June is no doubt going to rank up there with one of the top five weekends of my life to date (as long as I survive till then). Not only will it be Uncle Joss's birthday (which of course means Can't Stop the Serenity), but my birthday is the day before, and the two nights before that....well, if you find yourself at the Coolidge Corner Theater to see

Second Music Video.
Monday, 19 May 2008 15:11:30

I have finished my second music video, this time based on Serenity. It was just a quick idea that i liked and i put it together just to see what kind of things i could do, and what could be in it, and it actually fell together really well. It'based on the part where Serenity and it's crew are trying to reach Mr Universe, but need to get through the Allaince. (Link to be added soon...)

In the Wings
Monday, 19 May 2008 17:54:15

My next chapter is waiting in the wings to get posted. Hopefully, my reader aka 'Ski will get it to me soon so I can share. Thanks all of you who have been there since the beginning or those who have jumped on as we've been traveling. Unlike the Mule, this ride has plenty of room for several more. You all rock!!

An Eerie Coincidence
Tuesday, 20 May 2008 04:19:23

Here's how it goes, out here on the Rim: I was outside my residence the other day with my brother when the mail truck drove up. He said, "You get it, I have to check my sourcebox," and disappeared inside. So I waltzed right up to that truck, thinkin' to give the mailperson a break. After giving me a once-over, I guess to make sure I wasn't carrying lethal weapons, a concealed dog, or a can of mace(I have a very unthreatening demeanor), she smiled at me and handed me the pile of envelopes as best she could. Only then did I notice my terrible mistake. On her hands was a sight I have come to fear, in waking life and nightmares--- blue latex gloves. Y'all know the particular shade. I did my best to smile and turn calmly away from the truck as it ground to life again and went on. But the shade on the porch had never felt so cold on the back of my neck as that hot afternoon. I haven't seen her since.

Questions in Space---Updated and Shiny
Tuesday, 20 May 2008 05:06:55

Questions in Space---Updated and Shiny I'll put this on a thread...later...when it's more complete, because there is definately more to come: ' **THE NEW ONES**(Of which category--'Big' or 'Eensy'? Although Simon gets what his parents don't (i.e., they don't know anyone with that name and therefore something else is being said) how could River even attend their fictious ball since she's at the Academy?

it's one of those good news bad news things
Tuesday, 20 May 2008 13:20:13

R we gonna Meet Falcon?!
Wednesday, 21 May 2008 01:47:26

The question I have been asked by my readers so here is my answer. You may see him, but I have not quite decided whether or not he is important enough to add.... Just kidding! Of course we are seeing him. Big Fight with lots of blood and Cat just might get killed by him....well, that remains to be seen... sorry, must leave a few cliffhangers out there.... thanks for riding!!

This is just some new photo content. Nothing overly complex or fancy.. I've been experimenting with my new camera. RESTRICTION.

Things are looking mighty up these days
Wednesday, 21 May 2008 21:59:47

What can I say, I finished uni two days early, I have finished reading Better days and have shiny new comic pockets to keep them in. I am now free do continue my fanfic, have got alot of overtime in the work and if that's all not enough today I got my prologue for my fanfic proof read and edited by a beta and have recently uploaded it again for all to see. Its called Someone to carry you. Only one bad thing the dentist tomorrow sure I'll be fine though. Keep flyin'

Some Miniatures Finished
Thursday, 22 May 2008 04:27:14

Well I just finished the Captain and his Lady miniatures for my Firefly crew. A little converting and the miniatures took shape. Now all I have to do is paint them and that will be that. I am working on some Browncoats but I ran into a snag, the helmeted heads that I ordered were the wrong ones. You see the miniatures come with separate heads and to be close to the show I had to order the heads but alast the wrongs one were sent, so I have to wait.

New Riders
Friday, 23 May 2008 02:33:50

Want to thank all my new riders, who have joined the 'Cat' following. I am so happy you are enjoying the party in my head. As for all my regulars, you all gots to know by now that I love each and every one of ya!!

Chuck
Friday, 23 May 2008 02:36:49

It has been so long since I've seen a "Chuck" episode I went to HULU and watched an episode there. Did I miss something? Did this show get canceled? I have not heard anything about it so I have my fingers crossed that I am being paranoid and will see "Chuck" next season. I have heard about "New Amsterdam". Nwtwork TV is really going down fast. And they want us to upgrade to HD so we can watch "Deal or No Deal. Makes me want to puke.

Update on Upcoming Stories
Friday, 23 May 2008 12:13:17

I know my readers are waiting for the ‘big’ storyline to come up. It’s coming, I can promise that, but I'm still tweaking the edges of the idea, seeing what fits where and how. Suffice it to say there will be the reappearance of an old adversary, an unlikely alliance with some old ‘friends’, and Reavers. Oh, didn’t I mention them? Really? Oh. Might be worth you rereading OPPORTUNITIES, LETTERS and HOPE just to give you a little background. Anyway, basically I was apologising for keeping you all on tenterhooks. I see one more multi-part story first, then into the biggie, which will be spread over two tales entitled … well, maybe not. That might give the game away. Watch this space! :blast: :censored: Update: EEK! I should have said that the stories to reread were LETTERS, HOPE and POSSIBILITIES, not Opportunities. Mea culpa. :crap:

Happy Days, mostly
Friday, 23 May 2008 13:57:43

Been busy. More hours at work, Daughter just got her acceptance to transfer to the university in town and Mom got through her surgery just fine. My youngest is watching the Cartoon Network on his second day of summer break. The cats are happy and I'm thinking most of the time, so am I. Is nice. The only problem is with more people home, less time to watch Firefly. Oh, well. More time to write.

Memorial Day
Friday, 23 May 2008 14:02:49

It's Memorial Day weekend for us here and just a small thank you for all who have served and who have loved ones who have served. You all keep us free and keep us safe!!! Side note...I will be posting next chapter of Cat Monday!!! Thxs for riding!

Final Day of All School
Friday, 23 May 2008 14:37:59

I'm here on my last day of my Senior year of High School. It's somewhat depressing knowing you're going to be leaving everyone you know to go on with your lives and pursue intriguing careers. It's sad because you know you'll never see some people again. I don't want to lose touch with anyone, even though I know it's going to happen. I use myspace and I have most of my friends on there, but some don't have myspace or anything like that. I guess I will find some way to keep in touch, right? You have faith in me, don't you? lol. The only thing is that I wanted people to sign my yearbook and stuff you know, but the damn yearbooks haven't even come yet! :banghead: So basically I have to come on my time off to get my yearbook. For now, I'm just having friends sign paper I photoshopped. Yeah, I'm smart. lol. I also brought a camera today so I'm having fun with that already. So there was just an announcement over the intercom that I will be able to pick up my prom pictures today at lunch time. I really hope they turned out good. If they didn't, I will hate my life. lol. Just kidding, but I seriously hope they turn out right. Anyway, as a graduation gift, my parents gave me a really nice laptop for gaming and such. I can't wait to get it hooked up to the internet and stuff. It's super nice. I couldn't believe they got it for me because they already bought me a car as a graduation gift. They must be proud... haha. Well anyway, wish my luck in my college life and everything. I love you guys and I will see you around. (BOOKIES FOREVER!!!!) -Britney

Where Angels Never Fear.
Friday, 23 May 2008 14:55:58

This is just a wee horror/angst-ridden ballad that I worked on this morning.. (I haven't written poetry since the first couple of years of High School. Roughly.. What? 15/16 years ago now. O.O) My poetic muse just kinda blurted out.. Anywho.. Here's the wee ballad: WHERE ANGELS NEVER FEAR. Incandescent thoughts linger through, This bitter, twisted mind. Yet, pain and anguish still reign true, And hope's forever blind. Will I leave this personal hell, To reach that place so dear? A home to heal this broken shell, Where angels never fear?

Dash-Purple Eyes and Hero Status
Saturday, 24 May 2008 12:00:38

A few of you may have read my fanfic, A New 'Verse and have now meet my major OC, Dashiella Patrice Simmons, better known as Dash or Fast Dash. If not read it now (SHAMLESS PLUG ALERT!!!!) Anyways, I want to add a few things about Dash that I probably wont have the chance to add into the fic. For instance, the purple eyes, which are creepy and kinda hot. You see Dash's home planet of Lyons was one of those planets which didn't take perfectly to terraforming and a certain amount of science (That pesky old stuff!) leaked into the atmosphere, creating varouis minor mutations-extra toes, scales and funny couloured eyes. Also Dash has been running for a long time, using false names and keeping really quiet-she caused the Alliance a helluva lot of grief during the war, not to mention defecting so she's been wanted for a while. So thats why Mal and her haven't been in contact since. But now she's done something even worse and the bopunty went up somewhat... Anyways enjoy! Thanks for feedback! (And Jane0904? I have no idea why I kept refering to a St Christopher-I wrote that piece a fair while ago-must have had a good reason then...) Stormwind Still Flying

Momentum.
Saturday, 24 May 2008 15:52:05

The creative juices are flowing big time right now. I went out with the camera again today.. I'm a bit miffed that I couldn't get any more good shots of the statue, (see REMEMBERANCE below), 'cause some idiot had tagged the back and front with their gang name. Anywho.. Here's a brand new selection of pics. I'm finally getting to grips with the new camera. ON THESE SERENE WATERS.

Shindiggery
Sunday, 25 May 2008 20:43:15

I find myself obsessed with details of throwing a Shindig which will meet local Browncoat expectations. My first attempt last fall was hardly what I would call a success. But, then I got much more organized and had our firs "real" Shindig on May 8, 2008. It went splendidly. People who were there asked for another. People who missed it promised to show. I got compliments on how well it ran and the organization of it, so how can the next one not be well-planned? So many details: decorations, food (including fresh bao, tea and dumplings, Blue Sun cola, apples without grenades and strawberries, strawberries and more strawberries!) synchronizing my PowerPoint trivia game with proper cuts from the sound track, gauging the level of trivia difficulty and awarding prizes. Whew! It's a great way to spend a holiday weekend.

The end is near, lol
Monday, 26 May 2008 04:17:00

Well, there are, I believe, three more chapters to Archangel, and then I will have posted my last here at FFF.Net. Sorry it's been so sporadic, but I have been rather busy of late. I'll get the rest up in the next two days or so, spaced out just enough not to be flooding. Thanks to everyone who has commented and offered me encouragement. It's a long story, I know, the longest I've written to date. Thanks for being patient. It's been a ride and a half!

Hmmmm... What to say...
Monday, 26 May 2008 21:09:00

Well... I'm happy to have you all here with me as I sail through this big 'verse. To my readers, thank you so much for your insight. To those just joining the Browncoats, Welcome. Hope y'all enjoy the ride, be you a new boot or an old gunhand.

Boredom...
Tuesday, 27 May 2008 00:09:48

I'm bored so I figured I'd update this thing. Let's see, what's been going on... I attended the long awaited Death Note screening last week, and it proved to be every bit as awesome as I thought it would be.^^ Aside from the various manga I keep up with, I just finished Battle Royale for the fifth time (I love that damn book). I just started on Out by Natsuo Kirino, as well as the first Vampire Hunter D novel and I'll probably start the latest Stephen King book as well. As for games, I'm trying to save for a PS3 but that's proving to be quite a bit more difficult than I'd imagined (Sooo much anime...). But since I don't have a PS3 and can't play MGS4 when it comes out I've started on MGS3 again. I also finally found .HACK//MUTATION and I'm playing that as well as Persona 3FES and Guilty Gear Judgement on the PSP. So, I guess that's about it. And no, I'm not happy unless I'm reading more than one book and playing more than one game.

So Mal or 'Ski?!
Tuesday, 27 May 2008 02:42:56

So does Cat end up with Mal, the man who owns her heart, but could in fact have feelings for another woman, a companion from Cat's past? She is after all safe..... :disappointed: Or does she end uo with 'Ski, her husband and then man she completely trusts, but does not want the burden of a loved one? He is a mystery. :blast: Keep reading and I promise all will be answer soon. We're not 'LOST', you know. Enjoy the ride!! And thanks for riding!

Chapter 7 of Trials and Redemptions - Posted!
Tuesday, 27 May 2008 09:07:22

Hi everyone! Ugh... I must apologize for how long it took to get this posted! First I had problems getting the writing just right... I went through seven drafts, and I'm still not sure it's good! But the bigger problem was that we had some problems with my ISP, and I couldn't get on here to post for about two weeks... stupid ISP thought the BSR was a "dangerous website" because of the hacks in the recent past, and consequently it decided it should just deny access! Needless to say, I was not amused, and it took me a bit of time, but I finally found a work-around so I can access it. Anyways... please refer to prior log entries, etc. for the whole spiel. But as always, I really appreciate any and all constructive criticism!!! Happy reading! I hope to have chapter 8 up real soon! Update - June 4, 1:50 am EST: I'm finishing up chapter 8 sometime in the next day or so, and after that it will probably be one more day to get the editing and formatting done. So with any luck, I'll get this up sometime late on Thursday or during the day Friday! :) Thank you everyone for being patient!

The Life of A Hired Gun
Tuesday, 27 May 2008 09:24:06

Bo's past is beginning to become more clear as the crew gets more confused. How much tension can his and Mal's relationship really take?:naughty: How is Bo's connection with River going to pan out? How does he feel for her, the girl that seems to be falling for him? Skoal comes into the picture, how will he play a role in Bo's now expanding world? What about Monte and the rest of Bo's crew? Why were they so reluctant to let him go? More to come soon enough... I'm writing as we speak... Stay with me... Cause here on the raggedy edge we need people to hold on to.

New Fanfic started!
Tuesday, 27 May 2008 18:47:01

This time around I've decided to get the entire story written then post the chapters every three days. I may fill the time in between posts with little blog posts with insights, bits of research, and rejected ideas. The name of the second part of my arch will be one of two things. How I feel
Tuesday, 27 May 2008 23:13:42

Firefly is something special and I feel that since I call myself a browncoat I will do as much as humanly possible to do my part to show support. When the BDM came out I would take friends every weekend who hadn’t seen Firefly to it to get them interested. I have bought box sets of Firefly for people who didn’t want to buy it cause of the price since they have never seen it. When Firefly came out again on DVD box set collector’s edition, my friends and I bought out the entire rack that the local best buy had. I know that this is an up hill battle and possibly nothing could come about by my attempts, but if I don’t try then how do I know what would have happen if I had.

Huh...been a while, i guess...

Okay, so in my defense...i've been...away... There's no excuse, i know, for not signing in and saying hello regularly, but...well...yeah. I've been writing...non-Firefly-things...to see if i can still remember how to create my very own characters and whatnots...and there's a Firefly fanfic that's been crawling around the darkest recesses of my brain for some time now, and maybe with a little bao i can cajole it out into the light...but it's probably not going to happen this week. Sorry. But THANK YOU to the folks who've been commenting on stories i wrote a while back...you're reminding me to leave out the lures for the fanfic ideas again. Seriously! It's nice to be read again...maybe i'll try writing again... Till then...i'm working on getting all my stories into pdf files for easy emailing purposes. So...yeah.

Its Been a while
Wednesday, 28 May 2008 03:49:25

So it's been a while since I've been on site, I have had a few life changes, I am no longer a CNA and have withdrawn from the nursing program. Some of you may remeber a while back that I said I lost my job and had found a new one? Well I simply exchanged a bad situation for another bad situation and learned something my cousin (who is a nurse) tried to tell me when I swtched jobs in the first place. I am unsuited to the demands of being a nurse or a CNA. Not that I cannot do the job, not that I am squimish (which is what I thought she was saying and part of why I was so determined to prove her wrong), I do not have the right attitude. Don't get me wrong I did great with patients, I loved them, and I think they loved me...its the administration I'd like to take out and shot! I simply could not get used to the shortcuts and jury-rigging that was expected of me and my fellows to "make money" we are talking about PEOPLE here, something most of those money sucking leeches tended to forget. ANd I said so once too often, and am now no longer employed as a CNA and blackmarked to boot, as a result I found from my schools counciler that I have been moved to the bottom of the waiting list for entry to nursing school. F*ing politics, and what business do they have in medicine anyway?!? I was upset for a long time, and very busy working as a waitress, I am happy to say that I am back to a nine to five job again, staring at a computer all day. Depressing sometimes, but there it is. Sigh I'm better off in a feild where they think I'm crazy anyway and so disregard what I'm saying. Anyway onto the good news! I finished First Job and am reposting it here for anyone who is interested, and thanks for taking the time for reading this! :banghead:

No, This Is What Going Mad Feels Like...
Wednesday, 28 May 2008 14:09:16

Taking a few minutes out from RL to post a note...I've been (literally) half-blind from a migraine for the last couple of days, and have a jolly little intermittent nosebleed as well. Which is playing havoc with my writing. As is the DIY Which Ate Our Lives. Gorram kitchen still isn't finished - I have not been able to cook properly for nearly six weeks now. Which is lovely research for the idea of long journeys and processed food, but pretty pants in reality. At the moment, I feel a bit Riveresque, what with the way the walls keep moving. Reality has a certain fluid quality...anyhow, the deal is, I'm probably going to have to lurk away from the bright lights of the 'verse for a few days, until I can see straight. Usually, I use downtime to write longhand, but I'm not sure it's gonna be legible...Here's hoping.

Undead and Unemployed (well, the second part)
Wednesday, 28 May 2008 17:18:00

Is there some rule that the more misery and BS heaped upon one person, the more one is driven to write? Even if it's somebody else's life? Although, in fairness there is just enough of me in my character to make me want to give her all the good lines. But lately, I've been saving them for River. :banghead: And not to be too terribly personal... But what is it about a lack of sex life that makes you want to write PWP like mad? I have about a half dozen 'stories' that are never going to make it to post, because they have no redeemable qualities whatsoever. Just loads of graphic sex. :stupid: I'm a pervert. A mad, sick pervert. Well, maybe just a pervert. Or maybe I'm just misunderstood. Yeah, that's it. A terribly misunderstood artist yearning for a shag. :censored: Anyway, I have an outline for how Part 3 of this thing is going to go and am still kind of just flailing around in the dark as to what happens next. I've had some lovely support with the writer's confusion before, but I felt the need to vent again. :crap: I'm also working on three other projects with a friend. One, an original, that is supposed to be submitted, and I have no idea the time line. And it was something I was interested in and now, I could give two shits. I like the story, the idea, but the 'man' wants it to be dark and broody. And that's just not how it's turning out. I want to just say hang it, but I am actually unemployed and the measly amount of unemployment I'm getting is just enough to see that I get no other assistance. Stupid government. :blast: For anyone who has taken the time to look at this inane rambling... Thanks. Anyone who responds... Special thanks.

Sorry

I know that I have pissed some people off with many of the posts that I made on the get off fox thread. Listen, I’m a diehard fan. I do get pretty heated over this. But I feel that we all need to get fired up about Firefly, especially if someone acts like we should just get over the fact that the show was canceled. If we all had that attitude then the BDM would never have happened. I know that some of my comments were not so "tasteful" for some, but honestly those comments were not meant as a serious stab at the post creators mother. But don’t let that one comment get you and you lose the heart of my message. Fight for what you love, because if not what is out purpose for being browncoats. Is it just to hang out and that's it. If I remember browncoats were fighters, not just a bunch of buddies hanging out in a bar.

Working Hard
Thursday, 29 May 2008 04:16:27

The 12hrs shifts at work are coming to an end this Sunday, back to my normal 8hrs on duty. But before that happens I have one more 12 hr shift then a 14hr shift with 7hrs turn around before I go back to work. Oh well that is life. Not much has been going on which is good, makes my job easier. Have caught up on my DVD watching at work. My miniatures have been put on hold until things get back to normal.

got it back
Thursday, 29 May 2008 12:18:11

I should have said this along time ago. I received my Firefly DVD set a while ago and have been living happily ever after in the 'Verse. I have also been reading much fanfic and I must admit... in the beginning (before I read any at all) I was against it. HOWEVER!! I have been reading and reading and reading and I have fallen in love with a few of the stories out there.. so much so I have gone back and read the rest of their works. I have to say thank you to the people in the 'verse who can write and carry on these stories. I have enjoyed them immensely!

Still alive
Thursday, 29 May 2008 19:21:54

I'm sorry I've been kind of incommunicado for awhile, there's been a bit of a shitstorm in my world. The upshot of it all is that I'm possibly the least happy and least social I've ever been. I won't be going to England anytime soon, and most of you probably know what that means. Also, for the same reason, I might not be at DragonCon, unless by some miracle someone out there still has some room space. If you do, let me know asap. Or, if you're looking for room space, also let me know asap, as I still technically have a reservation and will keep it for a little while before I cancel. I cannot, however, guarantee I'll be a bundle of laughs if I do in fact make it. :crap:

Results are in...
Friday, 30 May 2008 02:54:19

Since I made my last post, lookit the good we got. A few comic book miniseries, ornaments, ...and a fanbase that keeps on tickin. Good enough, but we can all do better. YouTube has alot of FF music videos, but where are the fan-made spinoff videos? And coffee mugs. But I haven't digressed...enough. What can I do, sort of spending money I dont have, to try to keep this series alive? Aside from reading, watching, and dreaming, of course. :disappointed:

OMG.

Waiting sucks huh?
Friday, 30 May 2008 20:36:37

Don't I know it. But things 'tend to gum up the works'. Wish I didn't work so much, but here in a few days I'll be getting my wisdom teeth removed and have three days of quarters. That means more writing and posting! Yay!! Hope y'all are enjoying the ride, I know I am. Thanks to angellemarcs for all her help. And a special thanks to all my other readers, huh, I kinda did a pun there if you think about it.

Humboldt Shindig II
Saturday, 31 May 2008 06:53:14

Yehhhp, that second Shindig went well. A much smaller audience, but there were folks who missed the previous one. Also, they told me they had a good time and would like to do more in the future. I'm developing my own Shindig Manual. Figuring out the level of Browncoat knowledge is tough. My trivia questions for the first Shindig were too easy, so I toughened them up a bit. Now this time, they were too hard for the contestants. Live and learn.

For Your Consideration
Saturday, 31 May 2008 13:54:15

I've posted another fanfic, a companion piece to 'Origin of Werzbowski', and to Angellemarcs' wonderful series. Feedback & comments are always welcome. Criticism too as long as it's constructive. Angellemarcs' Fic (part 1) -
