Well, 6ixStringJack, if you believe that there is a "liberal media conspiracy" then I would say that you're buying what Spiro Agnew started selling three decades ago. Granted, it's a lot easier to blame things on liberals. But we haven't been in power in this country in quite a long time. Four decades worth of time.

I think that Fletch2's contributions to this thread hit the nail on the head. Unlike myself, I seriously doubt Fletch2 would classify himself as an American style liberal. So check out his post to Citizen upthread and see where that takes you.

If you really want to dig around you can look at media consolidation and figure out who owns what. Then you could take a look at advertising dollars and see who pays who for what. Then you could identify liberal positions and figure out which publications are promoting them. If you want a baseline try reading an issue of The American Prospect or Mother Jones (which are more progressive) or The Nation (which would be more old school liberal). And then compare those media with what is currently offered by the mainstream media. I think you'll see a world of difference.

But that would require a bit of work on your part.

* edited one more time to add: A mistake that many social conservatives make is thinking that because the mainstream media is to the left of them that the mainstream media is liberal. After looking at the positions of many social conservatives I have a Mal type response, "Well who the hell isn't to the left of them?"
