I guess it never occurred to you that, time and time again, Jihadists used mosques as havens to hide in, store weapons, and snipe civilians and our soldiers. They'd then raise all international hell if we tried to return fire. I'd have loved it if there were snipers in those spires at the time they were blown up, but I'm doubting that to be the case. I know it’s impossible to get you to understand facts and figures, so I’m not going to even try. However:
Yes, Americans cheered the Iraq invasion, I don’t have to prove anything to you. I saw it.
Second, you said “treat their women like 2nd class citizens”. I said so do many Christian men in America. That’s a fact. Also a fact is that the impression you have, apparently, that “all” Muslims treat their women like 2nd class citizens, is not true even slightly. You know little (if anything, apparently) but what you see on TV of Muslim culture. It simply isn’t true of “all” or even the majority of Muslims. And I know from personal friendships that some American males treat their women like SHIT…not to mention the facts and figures on spousal abuse of women.
Third, as to Iraq and 9/11; according to BUSH, Iraq was “involved” in 9/11, and we attacked them because of it, as well as attacking Afghanistan. I’ll ignore the rest of your idiocy on that point. Of course it was retaliation…Iraq DIDN’T have anything to do with 9/11, yet we invaded and killed untold numbers of civilians there and in Afghanistan into the bargain. If you’re counting the innocent in the Towers, then it’s appropriate to count the innocents we’ve slaughtered equally.
Fourth, I didn’t compare anything to anything. I showed a video of our soldiers—not taking target practice on a building as you claim, but deliberately destroying a mosque for the fun of it and in gleeful “retaliation”. I said we’ve killed more people in Iraq and Afghanistan than the terrorists have killed Americans. Again that is a fact. I was not comparing the two, only giving one illustration of Americans acting reprehensibly, and reminding you of Abu Grabe and the soldiers who killed all those civilians, as examples of American atrocities, nothing more. No comparisons. I’m not going to waste time looking up the articles, we already discussed them here.
Your cheering of their amusing themselves via destruction for no reason whatsoever—there weren’t snipers hiding in the mosque, they simply did it for fun—represents exactly the cheering of what we’ve done in Iraq that I remarked upon, thus no more is needed to prove THAT point. The news story about the cheering is out there, but again, there’s no point wasting my time giving you facts and figures, for reasons we all know too well.
I will, however, refrain from the idiotic accusations and disgusting remarks you made about me, as they have nothing to do with reality.

We went into Afghanistan a full year BEFORE Iraq, and Iraq had zero to do w/ 9/11. We went into Iraq for reasons dating back to the 1st Gulf war, it's continued refusal to comply with UN and cease fire agreements, an the fact that Saddam had a history of giving shelter to terrorists. Way, WAY down on the list was 9/11 a direct reason for us going into Iraq.

Evidence surfaced last week that al-Qa'ida may be plotting attacks in European cities similar to the 2008 Mumbai shooting spree. Intelligence officials believe Osama bin Laden is behind the plots, which would be the most prominent role he has played since September 11, 2001.
"This travel alert is a cumulative result of information we have received over an extended period," a senior US administration official said. "We are constantly monitoring a range of threat streams and have monitored this and others for some time."
Authorities have not identified any specific targets that terrorists might be considering, a European official said.
Officials say there may be up to 20 British-born jihadists training at militant camps in north Waziristan, on the Pakistan-Afghan border. A Pakistani intelligence official said last week that eight Germans and two British brothers were believed to be at the heart of the European plot, which was still in its early stages. The suspects were identified by matching their voices against a secret database.
Britain's electronic eavesdropping centre, GCHQ, intercepted phone calls made by British jihadists at a training camp in the tribal borders of Pakistan to identify the suspects. Matching voiceprints allowed the security services to trace their connections to other individuals in their network.
One of the Britons had died in a CIA missile strike last month, the Pakistani official said, and the rest were hiding in North Waziristan, where the US has focused many of its drone-fired missile strikes.
In recent months, it has emerged, the military has loaned Predator and Reaper drones to the CIA to give the agency more firepower to target and bombard militants on the Afghan border.
"When it comes to drones, there's no mission more important right now than hitting targets in the tribal areas, and that's where additional equipment's gone," a US official said.
The shift in military resources was spearheaded by CIA director Leon Panetta and Defence Secretary Robert Gates, with the backing of the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mike Mullen, and the new Afghanistan commander David Petraeus.
The secret deal to beef up the CIA's campaign inside Pakistan shows the extent to which military officials see the havens there as the primary obstacle to the Afghan war effort.
The additional drones helped the CIA double the number of strikes in Pakistan last month, following intelligence of the European plot. The CIA operations are technically covert, allowing Islamabad to deny to its unsupportive public its involvement with the strikes. Last week, however, Islamabad responded to cross-border attacks by NATO helicopter gunships by closing a NATO supply route into Afghanistan. The drone strikes did not stop, with 15 militants killed on Saturday.

Drones hunting European terror cell
Officials are increasingly linking recent US drone attacks in Pakistan to attempts to disrupt reported Al Qaeda plans to strike against European targets.
A drone strike in Waziristan on Monday killed eight militants, including five German citizens.
It came one day after the United States and Britain warned of an increased risk of terrorist attacks in Europe.
The Pakistani ambassador in Washington, Hussain Haqqani, confirmed the link between the increased drone strikes over the past few weeks and efforts to disrupt the reported plot.
A diplomatic source also spoke of a group of two to three dozen militants involved in planning commando-style gun attacks in Europe.
It is unclear when they started training, but the source said they were aiming to attack in November.
Information about the plot first came from a German citizen, Ahmed Sadiki, who was arrested in Afghanistan this summer and interrogated by American officials.
( Oddly, not a single use of the word 'Islam' or 'Muslim' in the news story.
We see 'militants', 'targets', 'civilians', but nary a word about radicalized muslims or jihadists.
Huh. )
