Can't say I'm surprised, but I am sad for Joss and the whole cast and crew of Dollhouse.
I'l wish them much, much, MUCH success in their future projects, and let's just put this one behind us and move on.

Cudos to Joss & Co for making a successful TV series about CIA MKULTRA Project Monarch mindcontrol. I wonder if Cathy O'Brien and her daughter Kelly Cox watched it -- and got deprogrammed?
Very gutsy move that must have angered very powerful and scary people.
That's like making a TV series about Pentagon & CIA's Operation Northwoods assassinating JFK Sr, or Bush & Cheney bombing World Trade Center on 9/11. Which would be great ideas for TV series BTW.
Joss appeared on History Channel's Star Wars The Legacy Revealed, which declared George Bush a dictator perping false-flag domestic terrorist bombings against his own nation on 9/11, just like Adolf Hitler in the Reichstag Fire and Operation Himmler:

Abbie Bernstein: Do you believe a government can be shamed into or out of what it's doing by the actions of individuals?
Joss Whedon: The idea was to say that people can make a difference, they can show the wrongs that are being done. They can speak out against them and make people aware of them. They can even create giant scandals. Sometimes they can topple governments. The point is that the truth is always more important than the power structure, and whether you make a dent or not, the fact that you succeeded in trying is a victory.

Because calling it WhoreHouse was too obvious

Of course they're not going to renew Dollhouse, since the last episode "Belonging" was GREAT.
(Not "Epitaph One" grrr-reat, but maybe on par with "Man on the Street".)
*sigh*
However, there were some big plausibility problems this season, hindering the believability of the show. Like the Kikki and psycho-killer switcheroo; though it may have been funny, it was impossible. And the whole being-eight-stories-underground-and-people-constantly-escaping thing. Did all the guards go on vacation? I thought "Alpha is a genius" was supposed to mean something.

I don't think it was Eliza so much as some of the things they (the makers of the show) were having her do/be.

I hope they give us a suitable ending, nothing is worse than having a show brutally yanked off the air with a bunch of loose ends left dangling *cough*

on the X-Files, but their show had a big cliffhanger.), *vomit*Drive*vomit* (ONLY 4 EPS AIRED, WTF?!!)
...M-my lung! I-it's flopping all over the dirt! Damn.
We still have 9(?) eps left, which FOX said* they will show in December. I hope I think Joss can do a lot in 9 eps.
*(We all know that Fox ALWAYS does as they say they will--Oh wait, Fox said they would air the last 2 eps of Drive on July 4 2007, and they didn't. GRR ARGH!!!)
Well, I hope we get a kickass send off!

Eh, it seemed like it was fixated on Eliza Dushku getting sexed up.

I actually liked Dollhouse. Another Joss W. series flushed down the network toilet of life...

I liked the show and thought it was great on occasion but not enough occasions. Oh well.
Check out today's PvP for a slight diss at Dollhouse but... well, you'll see:

I'm not so sure it was necessarily Eliza's acting. The role itself was problematic. She was not engaging as a Doll, but that's more a constraint of the role.
However... I grant you that Sierra was OFTEN engaging, even as a doll. Perhaps the problem was the approach; Sierra, while still creepily child-like and serene in a way, still smiled and emoted somewhat, which made her likeable. There were a few times Echo did, but most often she had to act confused or too blank... Almost to the point where I sometimes wondered if Eliza wasn't just really really high.

I'm not sur[prised either, i mean the mratings have been lower than 5 million, i believe that unless a show is like REALLY, REALLY, MINDBLOWINGLY GREAT, and it's under 5 million, should get the axe. And i just didn't feel the vibe with this as i did with other Joss W. shows, and it had low ratings. But i digress...
And if you haven't been looking, the talk is FOX( HATE, HATE, HATE), may bring TSCC back in january, or sometime after the second half of this TV season. Now i'm not saying anything other than i see it, but that piece of info, along with DOLLHOUSE's bad ratings, being on FOX, and being on the DEATH SLOT, this cancellation, MAY, and i stress the MAY, bring back TSCC. I'm not saying i believe it, and not at the expense of another show, Terminator or not, but you have to wonder, will they, or may they? Like i said any show that sticks it to FOX, i love at this point, and i hope DOLLHOUSE gets picked up by SYFY, help to bolster the scifi genre, but if TSCC does get put back on, i'll jump for joy because that's the best show i've seen in the last few years, not accounting MONDAY NIGHT RAW, which beats EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING, it even beat the combined coverage of all sports games, for weeks in a row. But i will feel alittle dpressed that DOLLHOUSE is getting cancelled.
