Yeah, Echo and Ballard really aren't good. I actually kind of cheered when to rewire Ballard they had to remove his feelings for Echo, because it was pretty much creepy and wrong. Even from the beginning, when he hadn't even met Echo and was obsessed with her anyway.
Echo might actually feel something, but Ballard? I'm just not seeing it. Even if Alpha claims otherwise. Sharing a room but not sleeping together is love? Excuse me while I squick over childhood family vacations, then. :x But then, Alpha is twisted.
Which brings me to a plot hole. They say Echo's physiology is unique and doesn't allow her to be wiped. Uh... Didn't Alpha retain some of his base personality as well? Isn't that was the Episode Needs was about, that on some level the dolls retain some aspects of themselves that has to be fulfilled for their health and well being? Isn't that the whole goddamn point of the show? Something about erasing memories, but not being able to erase the soul?
