Welcome home to our shiny ship, BrownCoatBrett!
You're #25310 on the crew here, and we're right
pleased to have you aboard.
Looks as if some of the traditional welcoming
rituals have yet to be observed. Surely somebody
will be along soon with a virtual browncoat for
you, and a drop of the Dew.
I hand out the fresh strawberries when they can
be found, and also the Mudder's Milk.
And here's an invite to come up to the galley
to question the buffet -- hot cheese just being
put on the table.

Fans of another show tried to finance a comeback
years ago, and it was a mess.
What we need is lots of DVDs in circulation, and
other behavior which would show the fine folk who
own the rights to the show that the fan base is
big enough to make it worth spending the $ on an
expensive show.

Saaahhhweet! Thanks for the warm welcome all! I'm heading home on my 2 weeks leave tomorrow but I'm leaving my discs here as I am breaking two new sets of fans in, one with instructions to pass disc one on to another recruit when they are done. Got a lil handbill distro action going on too. Are there any other sites besides 11th Hour's that has "marketing/recruiting" handbills for DL? I'm pumped cause not only will I get to spend 2 weeks with my wife but I'll get to watch the DTI movie and Serenity Hi-Def DVD I got (she got me the Hi-def DVD add on player to the X-box to play it, that's a good woman right der!).
What was the series that tried the viewer financed revival that fell flat? Any word on what is involved with the FireFly2 effort? Take care y'all and keep up the good work. Does word that Summer Glau accepted a show at Fox in the Terminator genre bode poorly for us?

Glad ya found your way here ! 1st round of Mudders milk ( or your choice of beverage ) on me when ya make it here to Atlanta. Seeing how anyone who flies makes their way through Hartsfield /Jackson Int'l Airport, it's just a matter of time.

Stay safe, stay shiny. Don't let the space bugs bite........

People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy. - Joss

Welcome BrownCoatBrett! First let me say I'm glad you found us, and hope you continue to be safe in your duties.

I'd also like to offer you a glass of Irish Whiskey to drink in celebration of your impending leave Safe journey!

The plan of action for us is still just spreading the word, which you seemm to have well covered there.

Universal and F*X have both been getting kinda snotty lately in regard to fan things (the items for sale and most currently vids on YouTube) which is bad but good as they are doing more of their own marketing which is something not normally done for something the suits don't believe have a future.

Welcome home again!

Ahoy, BCB!
Have a wonderful leave, and get your fabulous
wife to join us aboard our shiny ship at fff.net.

I think it was Star Trek whose fans went nuts and
collected a bunch of money. Somewhere on this
very board I believe there was a thread which
went over it.

>Does word that Summer Glau accepted a show at Fox in the Terminator genre bode poorly for us?
We want our Big Damn Heroes working and happy so
they'll stay in the business instead of going
home to Podunk and joining their family's businesses,
or whatever. Contracts which held them available
for more FF/S are due to expire fairly soon, anyway.
Summer at Fox may not mean that much in terms of
tying her up...it's Fox, after all. Who knows if
the pilot will ever be shown, or all the eps in their
proper sequence?
For her career I don't really want her locked into
some rump-kickin' female characterization. She's
too able to do other things, and the rest of the
world should know.
Last night she was 1/3 of a harem on Las Vegas.
Heh.

Okay, will do on continuing to spread the word. Just wondering how much of a "sense of urgency" there was. An' if me crew mates say to just keep pushin the signal than thats what I'll do! It also is rather shiny that the 4 disc set is only $20 at Amazon. Is that the normal price or is it some sort of special? If it is a special then I need to apply more pressure on some of my cheapskate friends to buy their sets before the price goes back up. And don't get me wrong I am all about supporting the BDHs in other work (have Jewel or Alan done anything recently?) I was just trying to read into the tea-leaves to see if anything could be discerned regarding FF/S. Y'all take care and I'll type at ya next from the comfort of my own home. Y'all rock!

Probably not; if another revival occurs, chances are good that most or all of our Big Damn Heroes will be willing to make room on their schedules, if at all possible. All of 'em love Firefly/Serenity, and would find a way.

The secret, to me anyway, is to not think of Firefly/Serenity as the next big thing, as the new Star Wars or Star Trek; think of it as "The Little Engine That Could."

And don't forget--we've already won; the Big Damn Movie got made, and it's winning new converts every day. "We have done the impossible, and that makes us mighty."

Welcome, welcome, welcome! Here's hoping all of you over there get to come home soon. Keep safe in the meantime!

It's great to hear that you're spreading the word over there -- you're an admirable Browncoat, indeed. It makes sense that the BDH and their adventures resonate with our troops, now that you mention it, Brett.

Jewel was on one episode of Stargate Atlantis already and now she's been signed for a reocurring role, we hear (there's a thread about that somewhere here). Morena was on SG1 for a few episodes. Don't know if he's still doing it, but Alan was in Spamalot, last I heard.

Oh...and be sure to check out Nathan's blog on MySpace for some entertaining letters from our captain.
