Harris is tied or ahead with every single group except one: old men, where she's behind by 12 points. But what can you do about that? This is the core Fox News demographic, and they've been told for years that Kamala Harris is a radical leftist fanatic who's determined to let in a ravaging horde of Mexicans who will destroy America. There's not much hope of ever getting through to them.

The white working class has been trending Republican for a long time, but Donald Trump seems to be doing especially well with them this year — and especially among men. Why? A bunch of reasons, but this is probably one of them:

No Texas Trumptard has the guts to be a complete asshole like 6ix because they know for a fact that they would be beaten to death and dumped in vacant lot for vultures. That knowledge keeps their behavior within certain wide limits. Meanwhile, Trump maintains no limits on himself:

Donald Trump is already lining up a scapegoat if he loses the election - chair of the Republican National Committee Michael Whatley.

Trump has given Whatley the mission of building the Republicans’ sizable “election integrity” group. The ex-commander-in-chief has been using his false claims about election fraud to argue that he didn’t lose the 2020 election and has been saying during the 2024 campaign that Vice President Kamala Harris can only win by cheating.

The Republicans claim that they have accumulated as many as 200,000 poll watchers and poll workers. The program is set to be used to gather evidence of voter fraud amid GOP lawsuits taking aim at rules governing voting eligibility and ballot processing procedures, Axios notes.

The program has taken on a larger role within the party than actual voter outreach.

Trump called out Whatley during a rally in North Carolina, where Whatley has been the state GOP chair, last month, saying, “We’re counting on this guy ... you better win or you’re never going to be able to come back here. He doesn’t win, he won’t be at RNC and he will no longer be in North Carolina. He’ll be looking for a job.”

In private, Trump has said that the only reason he may lose is if Whatley fails in upholding “election integrity,” . . . (Couldn't possibly be Trump's fault for losing.)

I know dude. I'm absolutely horrible. All that terrible shit I've done to other people like... um... hmmmmmmm.... Nope. Nothing worth beating me to death and dumping me in a vacant lot for the vultures comes to mind.

ONE WEEK AWAY | Lichtman Live #84

If you're just reading headlines and going off those polls, you'd be anxious right now because according to them it's a neck and neck race.

But the keys to the White House do not change. They are not based on polls, punditry, or campaign events. They are based on the fundamental forces that drive elections and that is the strength and performance of the party holding the White House. In other words, collectively at least, the American electorate is smart or at least has been for the last 160 years, making the very pragmatic decision: Does the party holding the White House merit four more years? That's really mostly what the keys tap into.

Until the last 24 hours of Hitler's life, he killed nobody. All he did was run his mouth. How dare anyone restrict his freedom to express himself! Same with most Nazis. They expressed themselves and defended their country. How dare anyone to see them as anything but patriotic! It was the Americans who were evil with the bombing raids killing women and children in their beds and homes. 6ixStringJack, the worst people always feel they are the best people, at least in their own imagination. If they actually could understand consequences for what they do, they won't do it. But, like you, they understand nothing but their own feelings. Other people's words about evil people? Those are all lies and propaganda and fake news to evil people. That's why America bombed the Germans, in order to get around the nonsense swirling inside the minds of Germans about themselves. I deal with Trumptards all day long and their minds are full of nonsense about themselves. I can see they understand nothing, nothing at all, about why their lives are difficult. They have truly convinced themselves that they are not to blame. The Nazis did the same, could understand nothing about themselves, nothing other than it wasn't their fault and Nazis were not to blame for what happened to them. It was the evil Americans, the evil Brits, and those horrible Jews causing problems for all the tens of millions of good Germans who just so happened to be Nazis.

(P.S. The Confederate slave-owners were the good people in their imagination. It was Lincoln who was evil, evil I tell you! Pure evil who looked like an ape! Ape Abraham Lincoln. Confederates were patriotically defended a Southern tradition and a way of life as old as the Bible: the owning of slaves.)

Trump is a lying sack of shit, not to mention that Trumptards have squandered their lives:

If Donald Trump wins next week’s election, it would be the first time in US history that a candidate wins based on such a huge lie – his falsehood that we have “the worst economy ever”. The former president’s big lie has distorted the views of millions of Americans, wrongly convincing many that the US economy is in bad shape.

“In the 35 years I’ve been an economist, I’ve rarely seen an economy performing as well as it is,” Mark Zandi, chief economist of Moody’s Analytics, said recently. “I’d give it an A+.” But the US public, still upset about the surge in inflation several years ago, sees things very differently: 62% say the economy is in bad shape, while just 38% say it’s in good shape, according to an October AP-NORC poll.

Joe Biden* calls half of Americans garbage. Then when he was told later that he said this he claims that he never said it. When asked about that by reporters, Harris claims that she would never call people names based off of who they vote for, despite the fact that she has done so many, many, many times already over the last 2 months.

Democrats hate tax-cheaters, rapists, fools, liars - all the things Trump is. Trumptards? None of that is problem for them:

A brief summary of Donald Trump’s plan for America

Here is Donald Trump's apparent governing plan so far:

Enact 20% tariffs on all imports.¹

Cut $2 trillion from the federal budget.²

Let RFK Jr. "go wild" on health, food, and medicine.³

Mass deportation of illegal immigrants.¹, ²

Big tax cuts for corporations and the rich.¹

Abandon Ukraine. Maybe Taiwan too.4

Use the military to fight "the enemy within."5

Build a strategic Bitcoin reserve.³

Fire thousands of nonpartisan civil servants so he can replace them with MAGA drones.6

Repeal any and all efforts at combating climate change, which is a hoax.³

Implement "concepts of a plan" to repeal Obamacare, including its provision that protects people with preexisting conditions.7

Take unspecified revenge against Meta and Google.³

Blow up the federal deficit.¹

How is it possible that there are lots of people who actually want this? Do even conservatives really want this? Even if Trump loses, it's apparent that we've lost our collective mind.

Footnotes
¹ Would wreck the economy and spike inflation.
² Not actually possible, thank God.
³ Come on, man.
4 Would encourage two-bit dictators worldwide and make it clear that nukes are a country's only real protection.
5 Obviously unconstitutional.
6 Delusions of grandeur, anyone?
7 Would hurt lots of people for no perceptible reason except retribution against Obama.

A Closing Case Against Trump

If Trump wins the presidency again, conservatism will be homeless, a philosophy without a party, for at least a generation.

By Peter Wehner | October 29, 2024, 9:56 AM ET

https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2024/10/conservative-argumen
t-against-trump/680438
/

Trump has transformed the Republican Party in his image in ways that exceed what any other American politician has done in modern times.

Start with character. The GOP once championed the central importance of character in political leaders, and especially presidents. It believed that serious personal misconduct was disqualifying, in part because of the example it would send to the young and its corrosive effects on our culture. It lamented that America was slouching towards Gomorrah.

In 1998, when a Democrat, Bill Clinton, was president and embroiled in a sexual scandal, the Southern Baptist Convention—whose membership is overwhelmingly conservative —passed the “Resolution on Moral Character of Public Officials,” which said, “Tolerance of serious wrong by leaders sears the conscience of the culture, spawns unrestrained immorality and lawlessness in the society, and surely results in God’s judgment.” It added, “We urge all Americans to embrace and act on the conviction that character does count in public office, and to elect those officials and candidates who, although imperfect, demonstrate consistent honesty, moral purity and the highest character.”

Yet for a decade now, Republicans, and in particular white evangelicals, have celebrated as their leader a felon and pathological liar; a person whose companies have committed bank, insurance, tax, and charity fraud; a sexual predator who paid hush money to a porn star; a person of uncommon cruelty and crudity who has mocked the war dead, POWs, Gold Star families, and people with disabilities. Under Trump, the party of “family values” has become a moral freak show.

Trump has also profoundly reshaped the GOP’s public policy. The GOP is now, at the national level, effectively pro-choice, and, due in part to Trump, the pro-life movement is “in a state of political collapse,” in the words of David French, of The New York Times. The Republican Party, pre-Trump, was pro–free trade; Trump calls himself “Tariff Man” and referred to tariff as “the most beautiful word in the dictionary.” (In July, Trump proposed across-the-board tariffs of 10 to 20 percent, and rates of 60 percent or higher on imports from China.) He epitomizes crony capitalism, an economic system in which individuals and businesses with political connections and influence are favored.

For several generations, Republican presidents have, to varying degrees, promoted plans to reform entitlement programs in order to avert fiscal catastrophe. Trump has done the opposite. He has repeatedly said that entitlement programs are off-limits. As president, Trump shredded federalism and made a mockery of our constitutional system of government by his use of executive orders to bypass Congress. He made little effort to shrink government, and lots of efforts to expand it.

On spending, $4.8 trillion in non-COVID-related debt was added during Trump’s single term, while for Biden the figure is $2.2 trillion. Trump added more debt than any other president in history. A Wall Street Journal survey of 50 economists found that 65 percent of them see Trump’s proposed policies putting more upward pressure on the federal deficit than Harris’s, and 68 percent said prices would rise faster under Trump than under Harris. And the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget found that Trump’s policies would increase budget deficits by $7.5 trillion over the next decade, compared with $3.5 trillion for Harris.

Pre-Trump Republican presidents celebrated the diversity that immigrants brought to the nation, and the contributions they made to America. “All of the immigrants who came to us brought their own music, literature, customs, and ideas,” Ronald Reagan said in a speech in Shanghai in 1984. “And the marvelous thing, a thing of

Trump Wants You to Accept All of This as Normal

The former president is psychologically preparing Americans for an assault on the electoral system.

By Anne Applebaum | October 28, 2024

https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2024/10/maidison-square-g
arden-election-fraud/680429
/

In the final week of this election season, the Republican Party is running two different campaigns. One of them is an ugly and angry but conventional political enterprise. Donald Trump and other Republicans make speeches; party operatives seek to get out the vote; money is spent in swing states; television and radio advertisements proliferate. The people running that campaign are focused on winning the election.

Last night, in New York City’s Madison Square Garden, we caught a glimpse of the other campaign. This is the campaign that is psychologically preparing Americans for an assault on the electoral system, a second January 6, if Trump doesn’t win—or else an assault on the political system and the rule of law if he does. Listen carefully to the words of Tucker Carlson, the pundit fired from Fox News partly for his role in lying about the 2020 election. Warming up the crowd for Trump, he mocked the very idea that Kamala Harris could win: “It’s going to be pretty hard to look at us and say, ‘You know what? Kamala Harris, she got 85 million votes because she’s so impressive as the first Samoan Malaysian, low-I.Q., former California prosecutor ever to be elected president.”

“Samoan Malaysian” was Carlson’s way of mocking Harris’s mixed-race background, and “low-IQ” is self-explanatory—but “85 million” is a number of votes she could in fact win. And how, Carlson suggested, could there be such a “groundswell of popular support” for a person he demeaned as a mongrel, an incompetent, an idiot? The answer was clear: There can’t be, and if anyone says it happened, then we will contest it.

All of this is part of the game: the Trump campaign’s loud confidence, despite dead-even polls; its decision, in the final days, to take the candidate outside the swing states to New York, New Mexico, and Virginia, because we’ve got this in the bag (and not, say, because filling arenas in Pennsylvania is getting harder); the hyping of Republican-early-voter numbers, even though no evidence indicates that these are new voters, just people who are no longer being discouraged from voting early. Also the multiple attempts, across the country, to remove large numbers of people from the rolls; the many claims, with no justification, that “illegal immigrants” are voting or even, as Trump implied during the September debate, that illegal immigrants are being deliberately imported into the country in order to vote; Vance’s declaration that he will accept the election results as long as “only legal American citizens” vote.

At Madison Square Garden, Trump doubled down on that rhetoric. He repeated past claims about the “invasion” of immigrants; about “Venezuelan gangs” occupying American cities, even Times Square; and he offered an instant solution: “On day one, I will launch the largest deportation program in American history to get these criminals out. I will rescue every city and town that has been invaded and conquered, and we will put these vicious and bloodthirsty criminals in jail.” But he left open the question of who exactly all these “criminals” might be, because he seemed to be talking about not just immigrants but also his political opponents, “the enemy within.” The United States, he said, “is now an occupied country, but it will soon be an occupied country no longer … November 5, 2024, nine days from now, will be Liberation Day in America.”

The insults we heard from many speakers at Madison Square Garden, including the description of Puerto Rico as “garbage” or of Harris as “the anti-Christ” or of Hillary Clinton as a “sick son of a bitch”—insults that can also be heard in a thousand podcast episodes featuring Carlson, Elon Musk, J. D. Vance, and their ilk—are part of the same effort. Trump’s electorate is being primed to equate his po

‘Stop Counting Votes, or We’re Going to Murder Your Children’

Election officials are under siege.

By Matteo Wong

https://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2024/10/election-worker
s-threats-trump/680362
/

Melissa Kono, who began training election workers nine years ago, recently added a training section dedicated to identifying and reporting threats.

When Melissa Kono, the town clerk in Burnside, Wisconsin, began training election workers in 2015, their questions were relatively mundane. They asked about election rules, voter eligibility, and other basic procedures. The job was gratifying and enjoyable; they helped their neighbors while sipping coffee.

But over the past few years, everything has changed. Kono now finds herself fielding questions about what to do when approached by suspicious voters who ask provocative questions or gripe about fraud. She’s added an entire training section dedicated to identifying threats and how to report them. “I never in a million years imagined that that would be part of my curriculum,” she told me. Kono has yet to receive any direct threats herself—perhaps, she thinks, because Donald Trump won the popular vote in her area in 2016 and 2020—but she fears that things may be different this time around. “What I do hear is I know the election is not rigged here, but in other places,” she said. “And I’m honestly worried sometimes: What if Harris wins? What if it gets too close? And now they start questioning me or coming after me, when I have nothing to do with the outcome.”

Around the country, election officials have already received death threats and packages filled with white powder. Their dogs have been poisoned, their homes swatted, their family members targeted. In Texas, one man called for a “a mass shooting of poll workers and election officials” in precincts with results he found suspicious. “The point is coercion; the point is intimidation. It’s to get you to do or not do something,” Al Schmidt, the secretary of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, told me—to get you to “stop counting votes, or we’re going to murder your children, and they name your children,” a threat that Schmidt said he received in 2020. This year, the same things may well happen again. “I had one election official who said they called her on her cellphone and said, ‘Looks like your mom made lasagna tonight; she’s wearing that pretty yellow dress that she likes to wear to church,” Tammy Patrick, the chief programs officer at the National Association of Election Officials and a former elections officer in Maricopa County, Arizona, told me. “It’s terrorism here in America.”

These workers, from secretaries of state to local officials to volunteers, are bearing the immediate, human toll of a campaign to discredit the integrity of American democracy. They are the most direct and vulnerable targets for people who have embraced conspiracy theories about fraudulent and “stolen” votes following the 2020 election—unfounded claims that have been directly promoted by Trump and many other members of the Republican Party, who still will not accept that he lost his first reelection bid. Where candidates used to compete against each other, Schmidt told me, some are now “attacking the referees.” In the most extreme narratives, election workers are accused of fabricating, shredding, or double-counting ballots, which leads to suspicion and harassment. “Since the 2020 election, we have seen an unprecedented spike in threats against the public servants who do administer our elections,” including shootings and a bomb threat, Attorney General Merrick Garland said last month. A survey conducted in February and March by the Brennan Center for Justice found that 38 percent of election officials reported being harassed, abused, or threatened—up from 30 percent a year earlier.

This is not just a story about assaults on individual workers, although that would be bad enough. Election administration is “underappreciated as the foundation upon which all of our representative government thrives,” Rachel

Democrats refuse to call Nazis what they are. Democrats want to react slowly, like a glacier melting, calling in expert witnesses, holding hearings for years. That's why Democrats are weak and silly despite being better people than Nazis. I want the Democrats to kick Nazis in the balls, right this second. Democrats lack the courage to physically resist Nazis. Democrats think they have done enough by labelling Trump as a "fascist", a prissy word that they aren't even sure what it means. Labels are just the first step, not the final step, but I don't think Democrats can do more than talk.

Assuming Trump wins, I don't think Biden will have him killed, no more than President James Buchanan would have taken violent action against the Confederates forming a new government inside the United States. That's why Buchanan is either the worst or second worst President, after President Andrew Johnson, the one after Lincoln.

Biden will be in competition for worst President if he doesn't kill Trump and JD Vance, assuming they win. Presumably, Biden will anxiously wait for historians to decide in a few decades whether Trump was really and truly a Nazi, unless Trump imprisons Biden, which would wake Biden up from the stupidity of not killing Trump while there still was a chance. President Buchanan waited to see what the Confederates would do with their new country carved out of the USA. Buchanan outlived Lincoln, but he still believed, writing a book, until he died that he had no power to stop the Confederates from taking over the country.

I don't know if Biden is any better than Buchanan when faced with a similar crisis, only worse than 1860 because some of the Confederates had the decency to resign from Congress and the US Army. Trumptards aren't decent people, see Trump's life history for what Trumptards think is decency. Trump never has been decent and certainly won't be if the Democrats peacefully transfer the government to his Nazis, loyal to him, not the Constitution.

I didn't want to add it directly to the first post I've been updating because I probably will only update this once, but here are the actual results of 2016 vs the polling aggregates, showing what the polling biases were 8 years ago as well as 4 years ago....

https://ballotpedia.org/Presidential_battleground_states,_2016

2016 Presidential Election vote margins by battleground state:

National:000000 Clinton +2.1 (48.2% Clinton / 46.1% Trump)
--------------------------
Wisconsin:00000 Trump +0.8 (46.5% Clinton / 47.2% Trump)
Pennsylvania:00 Trump +0.7 (47.9% Clinton / 48.6% Trump)
Ohio:0000000000 Trump +8.2 (43.5% Clinton / 51.7% Trump)
Michigan:000000 Trump +0.2 (47.3% Clinton / 57.5% Trump)
Arizona:0000000 Trump +3.5 (45.1% Clinton / 48.7% Trump)
Nevada:00000000 Clinton +2.4 (47.9% Clinton / 45.5% Trump)
North Carolina: Trump +3.7 (46.2% Clinton / 49.8% Trump)
Georgia:0000000 Trump +5.2 (45.9% Clinton / 51.0% Trump)
Florida:0000000 Trump +1.2 (47.8% Clinton / 49.0% Trump)

What do those numbers mean in relation to the numbers posted earlier?

Let's compare the polling averages 4 years ago today with the actual election results...

(NOTE: A "+" bias is in favor of Trump, a "-" bias is in favor of the Democrat. This is important because Hillary's polling at the national level cratered from +7.2 to nothing in record time at the end and she actually did +0.5 better than the polls suggested she would on November 1st.

A "-" in the "ACTUAL" column means a Trump win, while a "+" means a Clinton win)

National:000000 Clinton POLLS: +1.6 - ACTUAL: +2.1 = 2016 BIAS: +0.5
--------------------------
Wisconsin:00000 Clinton POLLS: +5.5 - ACTUAL: -0.8 = 2016 BIAS: -6.3
Pennsylvania:00 Clinton POLLS: +3.0 - ACTUAL: -0.7 = 2016 BIAS: -3.7
Ohio:0000000000 Clinton POLLS: -2.7 - ACTUAL: -8.2 = 2016 BIAS: -5.5
Michigan:000000 Clinton POLLS: +5.5 - ACTUAL: -0.2 = 2016 BIAS: -5.7
Arizona:0000000 Clinton POLLS: -4.0 - ACTUAL: -3.5 = 2016 BIAS: +0.5
Nevada:00000000 Clinton POLLS: -2.0 - ACTUAL: +2.4 = 2016 BIAS: +0.4
North Carolina: Clinton POLLS: +1.0 - ACTUAL: -3.7 = 2016 BIAS: -4.7
Georgia:0000000 Clinton POLLS: -4.6 - ACTUAL: -5.2 = 2016 BIAS: -0.6
Florida:0000000 Clinton POLLS: +1.0 - ACTUAL: -1.2 = 2016 BIAS: -2.2

Quote:

...This was just as bad if not worse in 2016. Maybe I'll get around to doing comparisons to both years as election day draws near for comparison too.

That's what I'm doing right now.

Now let's take the Democrat bias in the polls from 2016 and apply them to our current day polling...

National:000000 Trump POLLS: +0.3 - 2016 BIAS: +.5 = Harris +0.2
--------------------------
Wisconsin:00000 Trump POLLS: -0.3 - 2016 BIAS: -6.3 = Trump +6.0
Pennsylvania:00 Trump POLLS: +0.3 - 2016 BIAS: -3.7 = Trump +4.0
Ohio:0000000000 Trump POLLS: +6.9 - 2016 BIAS: -5.5 = Trump +12.4
Michigan:000000 Trump POLLS: -0.8 - 2016 BIAS: -5.7 = Trump +4.9
Arizona:0000000 Trump POLLS: +2.4 - 2016 BIAS: +0.5 = Trump +1.9

That's the only positive poll for Brown vs. Rosen out of 8 current polls in the aggregate. Otherwise Rosen is a +4.3 favorite on average.

I endlessly harp on things like E-Verify. Walls and border fortifications just don't work. Supply and demand won't be denied so easily, and as long as the demand is there, supply will find a way.

E-Verify is the only option with any chance of success. The business community in the US doesn't mind border theater, but it does mind things that might work. So they oppose E-Verify on specious anti-regulation grounds and Republican leaders go along with a wink and a nudge. The cynicism is sort of jaw dropping.

Friday, Nov 01, 2024 - 03:37 PM

Update (1836ET): After the MSM spent the day in histrionics peddling the falsehood that Trump said Liz Cheney should face a firing squad, - when he was simply calling her a chickenhawk - CNN panelist Jonah Goldberg offered a mea culpa, and has retracted his claim that Trump called for Cheney's execution.

"This morning on CNN I referred to Trump’s “rifles” quote as him advocating a 'firing squad' for Liz Cheney," said Goldberg. "I was wrong to say he was calling for a firing squad execution. After I said that, my co-panelist, Brad Todd made the case that I was wrong."

"I let my disgust at Trump’s comments get the better of me as this was the first time I’d heard them."

Dead-heat poll results are astonishing – and improbable, these experts say

It’s possible the tied race reflects not the sentiments of the voters, but rather risk-averse decision-making by pollsters

Josh Clinton, a politics professor at Vanderbilt University, and John Lapinski, the network’s director of elections, pondered whether the tied race reflected not the sentiments of the voters, but rather risk-averse decision-making by pollsters. Some, they suggested, may be wary of findings indicating unusually large leads for one candidate and introducing corrective weighting.

Of the last 321 polls in the battlegrounds, 124 - nearly 40% - showed margins of a single point or less, the pair wrote. Pennsylvania was the most “troubling” case, with 20 out of 59 polls showing an exact tie, while another 26 showed margins of less than 1%.

This indicated “not just an astonishingly tight race, but also an improbably tight race”, according to Clinton and Lapinski.

Large numbers of surveys would be expected to show a wider variety of opinion, even in a close election, due to the randomness inherent in polling. The absence of such variation suggests that either pollsters are adjusting “weird” margins of 5% or more, Clinton and Lapinski argued – or the following second possibility, which they deemed more likely.

“Some of the tools pollsters are using in 2024 to address the polling problems of 2020, such as weighting by partisanship, past vote or other factors, may be flattening out the differences and reducing the variation in reported poll results,” they write.

Either explanation “raises the possibility that the results of the election could be unexpectedly different than the razor-close narrative the cluster of state polls and the polling averages suggest”, they added.

"Enemies within": Who are the Americans Trump wants to prosecute or punish?

By Zachary Basu | Nov 11, 2024

https://www.axios.com/2024/11/01/trumps-enemies-within-list

Donald Trump has been radically transparent in his pledge to use — and abuse — the power of the presidency to seek retribution against Americans he believes have wronged him.

Why it matters: The final weeks of the election have been consumed by Trump's bellicose vows to crush "the enemy from within" — language that critics, including some of his own former advisers, say is fascist.

The former president's vague, haphazard speaking style has triggered fierce debate over who specifically falls into that "enemies" group, especially after he floated using the U.S. military against "radical left lunatics."

He may not keep an official list, but a review of Trump's public remarks reveals a vast catalog of perceived enemies whom he has marked for imprisonment, prosecution or other punishment.

Political opponents

President Biden: Shortly after his indictment by special counsel Jack Smith last year, Trump threatened to appoint a "real" special prosecutor to "go after" Biden and his family.

Vice President Harris: At a rally in Pennsylvania in September, Trump called for his opponent in the presidential race to be "impeached and prosecuted" for the Biden administration's handling of the border.

Former President Obama: On Truth Social, Trump has reposted multiple calls for Obama to be arrested and face "military tribunals."

Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi: Trump has specifically labeled Pelosi and Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) "enemies from within," and called last month for Pelosi and her husband to be prosecuted for alleged insider trading.

Former Rep. Liz Cheney: "She should go to Jail along with the rest of the Unselect Committee!" Trump posted in May, referring to Cheney's "treasonous" leadership of the House Jan. 6 select committee.

On Thursday, calling Cheney a "radical war hawk," Trump told Tucker Carlson: Let's put her with the rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her, OK? Let's see how she feels about it — you know, when the guns are trained on her face."

Retired Gen. Mark Milley: Trump suggested last year that the former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff — who has since called Trump "fascist to the core" — deserved to be executed for back-channeling with Chinese generals.

Media and Big Tech

ABC: After being repeatedly fact-checked in his September debate with Harris, Trump demanded that the Federal Communications Commission revoke ABC's broadcasting license.

CBS: Trump called for CBS to lose its license and for "60 Minutes" to be "immediately taken off the air" after accusing the program of deceptively editing an interview with Harris. He sued the network over this on Thursday.

NBC: Trump called last year for NBC parent company Comcast to be investigated for treason because of its coverage of his legal troubles. He promised that NBC would be "thoroughly scrutinized for their knowingly dishonest and corrupt coverage" if he's elected.

Google: After baselessly accusing the search giant of "only revealing and displaying bad stories" about him, Trump declared on Truth Social: "I will request their prosecution, at the maximum levels, when I win the Election."

Mark Zuckerberg: In his new "Save America" coffee table book, Trump accuses the Meta CEO of meddling in the 2020 election and writes: "We are watching him closely, and if he does anything illegal this time he will spend the rest of his life in prison."
Private citizens

Election workers: As he lays the groundwork to again claim voter

Restless Final Days of Trump’s Campaign

“What’s discipline got to do with winning?”

By Tim Alberta | November 2, 2024, 8:15 AM ET

https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2024/11/trump-2024-campai
gn-lewandowski-conway/680456
/

At the end of June, in the afterglow of a debate performance that would ultimately prompt President Joe Biden to end his campaign for reelection, Donald Trump startled his aides by announcing that he’d come up with a new nickname for his opponent.

“The guy’s a retard. He’s retarded. I think that’s what I’ll start calling him,” Trump declared aboard his campaign plane, en route to a rally that evening, according to three people who heard him make the remarks: “Retarded Joe Biden.”

The staffers present—and, within hours, others who’d heard about the epithet secondhand—pleaded with Trump not to say this publicly. They warned him that it would antagonize the moderate voters who’d been breaking in their direction, while engendering sympathy for a politician who, at that moment, was the subject of widespread ridicule. As Trump demurred, musing that he might debut the nickname at that night’s event, his staffers puzzled over the timing. Biden was on the ropes. Polls showed Trump jumping out to the biggest lead he’d enjoyed in any of his three campaigns for the presidency. Everything was going right for the Republican Party and its nominee. Why would he jeopardize that for the sake of slinging a juvenile insult? (A campaign spokesperson, Steven Cheung, said the nickname “was never discussed and this is materially false.”)

Over the next several days—as Trump’s aides held their breath, convinced he would debut this latest slur at any moment—they came to realize something about Trump: He was restless, unhappy, and, yes, tired of winning. For the previous 20 months, he’d been hemmed in by a campaign built on the principles of restraint and competence. The former president’s ugliest impulses were regularly curbed by his top advisers; his most obnoxious allies and most outlandish ideas were sidelined. These guardrails had produced a professional campaign—a campaign that was headed for victory. But now, like a predator toying with its wounded catch, Trump had become bored. It reminded some allies of his havoc-making decisions in the White House. Trump never had much use for calm and quiet. He didn’t appreciate normalcy. Above all, he couldn’t stand being babysat.

“People are calling this the most disciplined campaign they’ve ever seen,” Trump remarked to friends at a fundraiser this summer, according to someone who heard the conversation. He smirked at the compliment. “What’s discipline got to do with winning?”

Trump never did deploy the nickname against Biden in public. Yet the restiveness he felt during that stretch of the race foretold a dramatic shift in the tone and tenor of his campaign. Within weeks, Trump would survive an assassination attempt, Biden would abandon his candidacy, Vice President Kamala Harris would replace him atop the Democratic ticket, and polls would show an election that once appeared finished suddenly reverting to coin-flip status. All the while, Trump became more agitated with what he saw as the trust-the-plan, run-out-the-clock strategy of his campaign—and more convinced that this cautious approach was going to cost him a second term.

In conversations with nearly a dozen of the former president’s aides, advisers, and friends, it became apparent that Trump’s feeling of midsummer tedium marked a crucial moment in his political career, setting off a chain reaction that nearly destroyed his campaign and continues to threaten his chances of victory. Even as they battled Democrats in a race that refuses to move outside the margin of error, some of Trump’s closest allies spent the closing months of the campaign at war with one another: planting damaging stories, rallying to the defense of wronged colleagues, and preemptively pointing fingers in the event of an electoral defeat.

At the center of this tumult, people close to Trump agreed, is a candidate who

Trump Pantomimes Oral Sex at Rally

Trump Needs Help

Last night he simulated oral sex in public.

November 2, 2024, 2:02 PM ET

I do not know how to put this gently or tastefully, so I will factually describe what happened last night in Milwaukee: A former president of the United States held a rally, during which he used a microphone holder on his podium to pantomime the act of giving fellatio.

I could have put it differently. I might have said that “a cognitively impaired man, who has long been showing signs of serious emotional instability and has a history of sexism and racism, engaged in crude behavior in front of a large audience.” But that wouldn’t capture an important reality:

This deeply impaired man is tied in the race to become the next president and could be holding the codes to the U.S. nuclear arsenal in less than three months.

I don’t know if this bizarre display will move votes away from Donald Trump. Nothing seems to dent the loyalty of his base. Trump voters are resolute in their determination to minimize his ghastly antics, or even to scrub them from their minds. (As one commenter said on social media today, Trump’s new mantra might be: “I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and blow somebody, and I wouldn’t lose any voters, OK?”)

Besides, it’s always difficult to single out one terrible moment at a Trump rally when there are so many from which to choose. Last night, for example, he insisted that he won Wisconsin twice. (He didn’t.) He also took a veiled racist shot at the Milwaukee Bucks player Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is Black.

What was your polling methodology? 100% Democrat voting, college "educated", single women between 35 and 45 who are 50lbs or more overweight with unnaturally colored hair?

Emerson College just gave Trump +9 in Iowa 2 days ago. Stop smoking crack.

And just for comparison's sake, Emerson only gave Trump +1 on Halloween of 2020, and Trump won Iowa in 2020 by +8.2.

t a rally in Phoenix, Arizona on Thursday, Harris asserted Trump will do what he wants regarding abortion restrictions and policing women’s bodies.

"Now in America, one in three women lives in a state with a Trump abortion ban, many with no exceptions, even for rape and incest, which is immoral. And Donald Trump’s not done. Did everyone hear what he just said yesterday? That he will do what he wants, quote, and here‘s where I‘m going to quote ‘whether the women like it or not,’" Harris said.

She continued, "We must vote because this is the thing. You know, there‘s a saying that you got to listen to people when they tell you who you are, and this is not the first time he has told us who he is. He does not believe women should have the agency and authority to make decisions about their own bodies."

...

After playing the clip from Harris’ rally, Tapper corrected the vice president, adding she left out context.

After his panel on "The Lead" snickered at his fact-check, Tapper followed, "I mean, but you take my point. He’s saying I‘m gonna protect them, whether that women want me to protect them."

Democratic strategist Karen Finney remarked, "Some would say that’s misogynistic—"

"It‘s not as she presented it," Tapper said.

"Look, ultimately, I think we have to be careful in these last days. We did this in 2016," Finney said. "He’s going to say something horrible, ridiculous—"

"So just quote it accurately." Tapper interrupted.

When I am around Trumptards, I don't receive complex signals from them. What I do get back is static, like I am in contact with a flock of pigeons. There is a signal coming from them, but it doesn't have much of a plot, doesn't go anywhere in particular. Pigeons don't have a civilization, they have bird-brain behavior around the man-made world, nesting on buildings, eating what crumbs humans leave, and pooping on cars parked under trees. Trumptards have pigeon behavior, mostly pooping on an incomprehensible man-made world. They need Trump to make life meaningful, give the pigeons a vast purpose beyond eating, pooping and hatching eggs.

It’s Not the Fascism That Should Bother Us
The debate over Trump's style of politics obscures his profound indecency.

By Francis Fukuyama | Nov 01, 2024

https://www.persuasion.community/p/its-not-the-fascism-that-should-bot
her

The publication of new interviews with Donald Trump’s longstanding chief of staff John Kelly have been in the news since last week, and the Harris campaign has picked up on Kelly’s use of the word “fascist” to describe his former boss. This has reignited a longstanding debate over whether Trump and his MAGA movement represent the threat of genuine fascism in the United States were he to be re-elected.

This debate misses the point in several respects. Most Americans don’t have a clear definition of “fascist” in their minds, except to know that it means something very bad. But they also know that it’s been an epithet thrown around a lot, especially at Republican candidates. Indeed, as one Republican campaign ad shows, virtually every one of their presidential candidates over recent decades has been described as a fascist by the Democrats. The term “authoritarian” would be a much more accurate description of Trump’s inclinations, but that term is even less clear in the minds of voters and doesn’t have the heavy negative connotations of the comparison to Hitler or Mussolini.

What people should have focused on were other parts of Kelly’s interviews. The former general reiterated his previous claim that the former president didn’t want to visit the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery near Paris in 2018, asking “Why should I go to that cemetery? It’s filled with losers,” and called the 1800 Marines who lost their lives at Belleau Wood “suckers” for getting killed. Visiting the grave of Kelly’s own son, killed in Afghanistan, Trump said “I don’t get it. What was in it for him?” He refused to be photographed with grievously wounded military amputees because that “wasn’t a good look for him.” This attack on veterans who gave their limbs and often lives for their country started, of course, with his 2016 attack on John McCain, and his assertion that McCain wasn’t a hero, because “heroes don’t get captured.”

From Ronald Reagan onwards, contempt for public servants has been part of the Republican repertoire. But Reagan always distinguished the military from other parts of the public sector, and honored veterans as the best America had to offer. I do not believe that the fact Trump got away with his criticisms of McCain means that Americans on the right no longer respect military service, much as they may distrust the institutional military for standing up to Trump. How many times have you heard someone stop a soldier in an airport and thank them for their service? I don’t think that Trump himself believes that his supporters share his contempt for veterans or self-sacrifice. When he was asked about the “suckers and losers” comment as reported in Jeffrey Goldberg’s 2020 Atlantic article, Trump denied that he ever said that, and went on to attack Goldberg as a promoter of “fake news.”

Rather than calling Trump a fascist, I would focus on Kelly’s account of Trump the draft-dodger who wouldn’t, when push came to shove, stand up and serve his country. He attacks wounded and imprisoned soldiers out of a barely disguised feeling of inadequacy, having suggested that he made sacrifices as well by building hotels and avoiding getting sexually transmitted diseases. Those few swing voters still sitting on the fence need to see him as one of the most selfish individuals ever to enter American politics, one of the country’s true suckers and losers.

Donald Trump came to the Detroit Economic Club and stood there in front of Ford Motor executives and said "if you close these factories as you're planning to do in Detroit and build them in Mexico, I'm going to put a 35% tariff on those cars when you send them back and nobody's going to buy them." It was an amazing thing to see. No politician, Republican or Democrat, had ever said anything like that to these executives, and it was music to the ears of people in Michigan and Ohio and Pennsylvania and Wisconsin - the "Brexit" states.

You live here in Ohio, you know what I'm talking about. Whether Trump means it or not, is kind of irrelevant because he's saying the things to people who are hurting, and that's why every beaten-down, nameless, forgotten working stiff who used to be part of what was called the middle class loves Trump. He is the human Molotov Cocktail that they've been waiting for; the human hand grande that they can legally throw into the system that stole their lives from them. And on November 8, although they lost their jobs, although they've been foreclose on by the bank, next came the divorce and now the wife and kids are gone, the car's been repoed, they haven't had a real vacation in years, they're stuck with the shitty Obamacare bronze plan where you can't even get a fucking percocet, they've essentially lost everything they had except one thing - the one thing that doesn't cost them a cent and is guaranteed to them by the American constitution: the right to vote.

They might be penniless, they might be homeless, they might be fucked over and fucked up it doesn't matter, because it's equalized on that day - a millionaire has the same number of votes as the person without a job: one. And there's more of the former middle class than there are in the millionaire class. So on November 8 the dispossessed will walk into the voting booth, be handed a ballot, close the curtain, and take that lever or felt pen or touchscreen and put a big fucking X in the box by the name of the man who has threatened to upend and overturn the very system that has ruined their lives: Donald J Trump.

They see that the elite who ruined their lives hate Trump. Corporate America hates Trump. Wall Street hates Trump. The career politicians hate Trump. The media hates Trump, after they loved him and created him, and now hate. Thank you media: the enemy of my enemy is who I'm voting for on November 8.

Yes, on November 8, you Joe Blow, Steve Blow, Bob Blow, Billy Blow, all the Blows get to go and blow up the whole goddamn system because it's your right. Trump's election is going to be the biggest fuck you ever recorded in human history and it will feel good.

And, what lesson did the DNC take from this?

Recommit to working Americans?

Er, no.

What they did was censorship. Identity politics. False accusations. Of Russian collusion. Of racism. Of sexism.
Disinformation. Media and internet control. Lockdowns. Mostly peaceful riots. Vaccine mandates. New, all new, proxy wars. Flooding the USA with illegal aliens. Inflation.

And we're supposed to be on board with that?

Alternatively, those bad things would not have happened if those Trump voters had not been bird-brains easily tricked by salesmen such as Trump. For today's example:

RFK Jr. says Trump would push to remove fluoride from drinking water. (RFK Jr says your child is stupid because their brain was poisoned by fluoride.) Assuming you are ignorant enough to believe that conman, Trump has a response, especially for you:

Trump told NBC News on Sunday that he had not spoken to Kennedy about fluoride yet, “but it sounds OK to me. You know it’s possible.” Whether Trump means it or not, is kind of irrelevant because he's saying the things to people who are hurting.
https://apnews.com/article/rfk-kennedy-trunt-fluoride-water-eaf74072a1

Trump is "the human hand grenade that they can legally throw into the system that stole their lives from them". The system didn't steal their lives, the bird-brains threw life away. Each year a billion birds die from crashing into windows. Trump is promising to rid America of windows to spare the lives of bird-brain Americans. "Whether Trump means it or not, is kind of irrelevant because he's saying the things to people who are hurting." "Trump's election is going to be the biggest fuck you (directed at windows and plate-glass) ever recorded in human history and it will feel good."

Trump Has Mastered Exploiting an American Obsession. It Could Cost Us All.

Trump’s Secret Weapon - America has long been obsessed with the concept of fairness. This election, it might cost us.

By Jill Filipovic | Nov 03, 2024

https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2024/11/kamala-harris-donald-trump
-who-wins-fairness.html

The most devastating component of Trumpism has been to manipulate faith in our most basic systems of democracy. Trump, and especially the savvy people around him, surely understand that the 2020 election was not actually rigged, and that the 2024 election won’t be either. But they have exploited that American commitment to fair play — a commitment that extends to American systems. It is a long-held American value that we may not always like a particular outcome, but if the process and the system were both fair, then we accept it. And so, to undermine our faith in the vote, Trump and his allies have not complained about the outcome but about the fairness of the process (even without evidence). Today, scores of Trump supporters, some of them in positions to influence the election outcome, are convinced that there are widespread efforts underway to illegally throw the election to Harris. And Trump has made clear that if he loses, no matter the context or the facts on the ground, he will claim that the election was stolen.

Figuring for the 2016 Polling Biases (8 years ago on this day):

https://ballotpedia.org/Presidential_battleground_states,_2016

2016 Presidential Election ACTUAL vote margins by battleground state:

National:000000 Clint +2.1 (48.2% Clinton / 46.1% Trump)
--------------------------
Wisconsin:00000 Trump +0.8 (46.5% Clinton / 47.2% Trump)
Pennsylvania:00 Trump +0.7 (47.9% Clinton / 48.6% Trump)
Ohio:0000000000 Trump +8.2 (43.5% Clinton / 51.7% Trump)
Michigan:000000 Trump +0.2 (47.3% Clinton / 57.5% Trump)
Arizona:0000000 Trump +3.5 (45.1% Clinton / 48.7% Trump)
Nevada:00000000 Clint +2.4 (47.9% Clinton / 45.5% Trump)
North Carolina: Trump +3.7 (46.2% Clinton / 49.8% Trump)
Georgia:0000000 Trump +5.2 (45.9% Clinton / 51.0% Trump)
Florida:0000000 Trump +1.2 (47.8% Clinton / 49.0% Trump)

Let's compare the polling averages 4 years ago today with the actual election results 4 years ago...

National:000000 Clinton POLLS: +1.8 - ACTUAL: +2.1 = 2016 BIAS: +0.3
--------------------------
Wisconsin:00000 Clinton POLLS: +5.5 - ACTUAL: -0.8 = 2016 BIAS: -6.3
Pennsylvania:00 Clinton POLLS: +2.8 - ACTUAL: -0.7 = 2016 BIAS: -3.5
Ohio:0000000000 Clinton POLLS: -1.6 - ACTUAL: -8.2 = 2016 BIAS: -6.6
Michigan:000000 Clinton POLLS: +5.0 - ACTUAL: -0.2 = 2016 BIAS: -4.8
Arizona:0000000 Clinton POLLS: -4.0 - ACTUAL: -3.5 = 2016 BIAS: +0.5
Nevada:00000000 Clinton POLLS: -2.0 - ACTUAL: +2.4 = 2016 BIAS: +4.4
North Carolina: Clinton POLLS: -1.8 - ACTUAL: -3.7 = 2016 BIAS: -1.9
Georgia:0000000 Clinton POLLS: -2.3 - ACTUAL: -5.2 = 2016 BIAS: -2.9
Florida:0000000 Clinton POLLS: +0.9 - ACTUAL: -1.2 = 2016 BIAS: -2.1

Now let's take the Democrat bias in the polls from 2016 and apply them to our current day polling...

National:000000 Trump POLLS: +0.1 - 2016 BIAS: +0.3 = Harris +0.2
--------------------------
Wisconsin:00000 Trump POLLS: -0.3 - 2016 BIAS: -6.3 = Trump +6.0
Pennsylvania:00 Trump POLLS: +0.3 - 2016 BIAS: -3.5 = Trump +3.8
Ohio:0000000000 Trump POLLS: +7.1 - 2016 BIAS: -6.6 = Trump +13.7
Michigan:000000 Trump POLLS: -0.8 - 2016 BIAS: -4.8 = Trump +4.0
Arizona:0000000 Trump POLLS: +2.6 - 2016 BIAS: +0.5 = Trump +2.1
Nevada:00000000 Trump POLLS: +1.0 - 2016 BIAS: +4.4 = Harris +3.4
North Carolina: Trump POLLS: +1.5 - 2016 BIAS: -1.9 = Trump +3.4
Georgia:0000000 Trump POLLS: +2.3 - 2016 BIAS: -2.9 = Trump +5.2
Florida:0000000 Trump POLLS: +8.0 - 2016 BIAS: -2.1 = Trump +10.1

Reasons I think Kamala will win PA (and get to 270 electoral votes while doing it).

The polls say that the swing states are essentially deadlocked. The party that turns out the most of its voters will win the battle. The democrats are ahead on the enthusiasm scale, evidenced by the far greater small donations they have received and the unprecedented number of volunteers.

Roe v. Wade will inspire huge numbers (especially women) to come out and vote. Every recent election that expanded state abortion rights has won big time, even in red states.

Huge numbers of early voters makes it easier for democratic workers to winnow down the lists of registered voters they need to contact to make sure they vote.

Taylor Swift and Beyonce have endorsed Kamala and encouraged young people who love them to register and vote. Young people are less likely to vote, but when they do, it’s usually for the more progressive candidates.

There are more women than men in PA and women have averaged about 60-40% for Democrats. And women are more likely to vote than men.

There are 600,000 people of Polish descent in PA, and Kamala was wise enough to warn them that their old country is where Putin will invade next if he wins Ukraine.

The association of black farmers (many former Republicans) have endorsed Kamala.

Trump fails every popularity poll. Even people who plan to vote for him feels he is repugnant. When some moderate Republicans see the choice on the ballot, many will just not be able to check the name of the convicted felon and women assaulter.

Trump has not even tried to expand his base. His rallies are designed to appeal only to those people already on board. This base was not large enough to elect him in 2020, and Kamala seems to be a more formidable challenge than Biden was.

Since Trump rode down the golden escalator cheered on by a crowd that he paid to be there 9 years ago, 36 million Americans have turned 18 and are eligible to vote. The great majority of young people are more progressive, and care about the climate issue which the Democrats own. On the other hand, since then, 18 million Americans have died, and older people tend to be more conservative (hence, Florida has recently become a red state).

More than 100 motorcyclists in Philadelphia (mostly black males) spent this weekend visiting areas outside that city where low voter turnout is the norm. They stop at bars and restaurants and give a little speech describing why everyone should register and vote for Kamala.

Over 3 million Americans have student loans, many of which have been forgiven by the Biden-Harris administration. Every one of these people should be voting Democratic, especially since the Republicans have fought against loan forgiveness.

Trump has been showing signs of dementia at his rallies, and his age is becoming as issue that he himself was broadcasting as dangerous when Biden was his likely challenger.

(I believe in under-promising and over-delivering, just as Kamala does,) When both Trump and Kamala were in Texas with only 10 days until the election, Trump was either wasting money in a red state or he was worried that Cruz might be vulnerable, and Kamala was there (along with Beyonce and Willie Nelson) for the same reason.

On Friday, October 25, Trump flew to Michigan to have a rally which was streamed by PBS. He was 3 hours late, and many attendees had long since departed. His words were watched by 47,000 PBS followers. On the same day, Kamala gave a speech in Texas attended by 22,000, and PBS streamed it as well, but to an audience of 2.5 million, or more than 50 times as many people as those who tuned into Trump.

Democrats are clearly winning the ground game in PA with so many volunteers. The New York Times reported that 24,000 registered voters were contacted in one time period over which only 3000 Republicans were.

Several busloads of students from the Unive

Nate Silver called the race for the White House a “pure toss-up” Sunday as he gave ex-President Donald Trump a slight edge over Vice President Kamala Harris in his latest forecast.

Silver’s model shows Trump has a 51.5% chance of clinching the Electoral College while Harris has a 48.1% chance, according to a Substack post on Sunday morning, Mediate reported.

Per usual, you missed the point that RFK Jr is absolute sure that all water should never have fluoride added and Trump is fine with stopping all fluoride being added anywhere in the USA. Also, vaccines kill people according to RFK Jr so stop getting vaccinated. RFK Jr, like Trump, talks out of both sides of his mouth, always obfuscating, never understanding what he is talking about, always super-confident when he should be super-quiet so that none would know he is crazy:

RFK Jr. says he’s not anti-vaccine. His record shows the opposite. It’s one of many inconsistencies

It's 100% chance for Trump winning the Electoral College.

It's probably a 51.5% that he'll win the popular vote too, but I'm being saucy and calling it at least 1 Million votes in Trump's favor.

I have all the polling data updated from earlier. There is no reason at all to believe otherwise until there is a reason to believe otherwise.

The report marks the first time a federal agency has determined such findings. It was not designed to evaluate the health effects of fluoride in drinking water alone.

SECOND: Per usual, you missed the point that RFK Jr is absolute sure that all water should never have fluoride added and Trump is fine with stopping all fluoride being added anywhere in the USA.

Hey, I'M fine with fluoride not being added anywhere.
It's the risk of doing something (potentially lowering IQ) versus the risk of doing nothing (maybe more cavities).

Yanno, we're exposed to tens of thousands of chemicals in our lifetime, the vast majority untested. We can add microplastics to the mix. How about following the precautionary principle?

Quote:

Also, vaccines kill people according to RFK Jr so stop getting vaccinated.

Well, actually, they do. Just not very often.

I'm not an anti-vaxxer, but I have known two children, personally, who were brain- burned by the pertussis vaccine. Vaccines, even well accepted vaccines, aren't without consequence (for some) , and each time your kids get vaccinated you roll the dice.

With some vaccines, the risk of doing nothing clearly outweighs the risk of doing something. With other vaccines, like HPV and Covid, it's not so clear cut. I think it's time to bring some skepticism into our nutrition, chemical exposure, and vaccine bureaucracies.

Whose skepticism? That of Trumptards opposed to anything making them feel uncomfortable? A particular example is abortion. Trumptards feel abortion is murder and banned it in Texas. 60 Minutes visits OB/GYNs in Texas to ask about their feelings.

The Law Should Have Locked Him Up

Donald Trump has spent his whole career evading the law. But the law helped him escape.

How much power does a President have? Depends on the President

By Dahlia Lithwick and Mark Joseph Stern | Nov 04, 2024 1:00 PM

https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2024/11/2016-election-supreme-cour
t-helps-trump.html

Will the next president embrace the traditional role of a commander in chief with robust yet limited powers, with a fundamental obligation to serve the citizenry over her parochial needs, and with ultimate accountability to the people and the law? Or will the next president fit the role, newly fashioned by Chief Justice John Roberts and his far-right colleagues, of a self-interested monarch who sits high above the law, and relentlessly persecutes his perceived enemies?

The candidate has unmistakably telegraphed his interpretation of Trump v. United States as a green light to refashion the presidency. From the moment the ruling came down, he hailed it not only as a vindication of his past acts but as permission to go far further in the future. He intends to fire Jack Smith, the special counsel leading his prosecution, immediately upon returning to office, then turn around and prosecute his own perceived enemies within the Justice Department and government immediately thereafter. The list of figures he would like to subject to investigation, arrest, and incarceration under a second Trump term includes (but is hardly limited to) former President Barack Obama, former Rep. Liz Cheney, Mark Zuckerberg, New York Attorney General Letitia James, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, Judge Arthur Engoron, members of the U.S. Capitol Police, members of the Jan. 6 committee, election workers, protesters, anyone who criticizes the Supreme Court, and journalists. Trump has also suggested that Gen. Mark Milley, his own chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, should be executed. (Cheney too.)

This list is really just the start, since the former president also envisions mass prosecutions of “enemies from within.” These “enemies” seem to include all of his many opponents, detractors, critics, and political rivals. And the justice system may not be enough to handle them—which is why Trump has also suggested that “radical left lunatics” will need to be “handled” by the military. He has called for “military tribunals,” like those used to try terrorists at Guantanamo Bay, for some of his top “enemies,” including Obama and Cheney. Put simply: If you have spoken out against the former president at any point, whether you’re a public figure or a private citizen, you will not be safe from a knock at the door in the middle of the night with armed agents waiting to carry out Trump’s wrath.

When John Roberts declared that the president must be able to act “boldly and fearlessly” without fear of breaking the law, is this what he envisioned? If so, then he is utterly complicit in Trump’s plan for a vengeful second term; if not, he is painfully, and humiliatingly naive. Because the Trump who makes all of these promises about revenge and retribution is, of course, the same man who tried to overturn the 2020 election . . .

“Stop the Steal” is all grown up and ready to rumble

By Kevin Drum | November 4, 2024 – 10:46 am

This Twitter post has been viewed by 6 million people over the past week:

Need help identifying this guy that just dropped off an insane amount of ballots who says he’s with the post office but idk if I buy that. He wouldn’t talk to us and was acting very suspect. @EarlyVoteAction @ScottPresler @SazonLes @VoteHarrisOut @Postcardstopa https://x.com/hippiedaytrader/status/1851383775990817256
— Brandon Matlack (@hippiedaytrader) October 29, 2024

The "guy" was indeed just a postal carrier delivering a single plastic bin of mail-in ballots. The Washington Post reports that this video is part of a widespread and well-organized effort to promote a far larger and better-coordinated version of 2020's hastily created "Stop the Steal" movement:

X has also rolled out new features, such as its “Election Integrity Community,” the feed on which Matlack’s video of the mail worker gained viral attention. The feed, which has more than 50,000 members, promotes tweets showing “potential incidents of voter fraud or irregularities,” regardless of their accuracy.

The feed is run by America PAC, Musk’s $118 million pro-Trump super PAC, which shared a since-deleted digital ad calling Harris “a big ole C-word” — they said it meant “communist” — and has boosted claims that Trump’s opponents have tried to “take him out for good.”

....About 12 hours after the Northampton video started exploding on X, Trump posted on Truth Social, “Pennsylvania is cheating, and getting caught, at large scale levels rarely seen before. … Law Enforcement must act, NOW!” The top comment on it, from a user named “Patriotic Marine,” showed the postal worker’s face and license plate and urged viewers to find him and “prosecute him for Treason.” It was liked more than 1,000 times.

This stuff has likely been under your radar so far, circulating only among MAGA cultists, but that's likely to change tomorrow. Prepare yourself for a tsunami of idiotic claims like this if Kamala Harris wins.

Lot of cope articles coming out of the left today.

I don't blame them. The polls are terrible right now. +4(D) means there is a tie. If the polls are showing an actual tie, that means Democrats lose by 4 points.

To me, polls are worthless predictors. Not only are polls skewed, even if they were honestly conducted, they are confounded by vote and vote -count rigging.

For example, I'm convinced that the RNC electronically cheated their way to the Presidency in 2000 (Hanging chads wasn't Florida's problem, it was e-voting.) and 2004 (Ditto, but across 6 states not just one). And I strongly suspect ballot-stuffing in 2020.

But what the current polls do is make a Trump loss not credible. That tends to discourage massive cheating bc people are now sensitized to the issue.

AS THEY SHOULD BE. Everyone should be watching for irregularities like a hawk. EVERY ELECTION, EVERY TIME. That's the only way to keep elections clean.

I both agree and disagree.

I put almost zero stock into any individual polls. My only real exception to that would probably be most non-election based polling from Gallup. It's not that I have implicit trust in that organization, but I don't believe them to be heavily biased in either direction and they have a good track record.

Polls are good indicators of tracking trends though, especially when you have recorded polling data going back as far as we do today. The above data I posted looks overwhelming to some on its own, but all of that data was taken from several hundred polls from 2 election cycles. And then all of that data is being compared to all of the recent polling data from 2024's election cycle. There is a TON of data in there.

So this is where I get in danger of being wrong. If something really has changed in the polling methodologies of ALL polling firms and they finally managed to include any "Trump bump" they were missing the last two times, this election is not as skewed in favor of Trump as I believe it to be. I know some articles have stated that this previous bias has been eliminated from polling firms in 2024, but nobody has provided any facts to back those assertions up and we won't know the answer to that question until at least late night tomorrow if Trump runs away with it, and possibly weeks from now if it's close or it looks like Harris is up slightly in enough states to drag it out.

Sure. I wish we had two more election cycles for me to compare everything against, but even if I looked back further a race between Obama and Romney/McCain is not going to tell us pertinent information for 2024 politics anyhow.

Agreed and agreed.

Unfortunately, I don't agree with you here.

In the minds of half of the country voting Harris, a Trump loss would be EXTREMELY credible because of current polling. Most people have memories of goldfish and aren't looking into any of this polling data like I am. They woke up this morning to see a reported virtual tie. They are not taking any time to look at previous HUGE polling biases for context. In their minds, this is a coin flip. In the event that Harris wins, the media will just keep lying about everything, not question the election results and it will go out of its way to call anybody who questions the results a Democracy hating Nazi. It won't even matter to them if half of the people thought the election was a scam.

Nate Silver, who has probably been the most based of all the Alt-Left pollsters out there this cycle is calling this a coin-flip right now. And I don't even blame most people who read him for believing him because that's what all the current-year polling is showing us. It's only when you look at previous polling from previous election cycles where the warning bells would ring for them. How many people voting for Harris do you think are actually aware of any of this?

Quote:

AS THEY SHOULD BE. Everyone should be watching for irregularities like a hawk. EVERY ELECTION, EVERY TIME. That's the only way to keep elections clean.

Steven Crowder says that they've got a huge team all over the country not only reporting on the election tomorrow but watching polling places in large cities in swing states to try to catch any voting shenanigans. I don't particularly care for Crowder and I feel

You forgot J.D. Vance.

They all had to say a lot of things when they were kneeling before their NeoCon Masters.

Now they're able to say what they want to say because all the NeoCons are out stumping for your girl.

I do wonder where those NeoCons will go when Trump wins tomorrow.

Poor Hayes is under the illusion this race is a toss-up and he's freaking the fuck out.

If they taught you how to Math in public school, Mr. Brown, you would know that this race is not a toss-up and Harris is at a SEVERE disadvantage against Trump right now.

With history as our guide, no person with a 3 digit IQ should go into election day believing anything other than +1.5 points up to and even surpassing the maximum margin of error in favor of Trump occurs on the national level and in every swing state except for Nevada and Arizona.

Trump did win in 2020.

He will win by far too much for you to cheat this time.

I guess you should have been preparing for an election by serving the American people instead of spending all that time trying to throw your political opposition in prison.
