Analysis finds Democrats used adultery website Ashley Madison substantially less than other US voters.
Democrats are less inclined than Republicans to cheat on their spouses, according to researchers who matched voter records to accounts hacked from a US website that specialises in extramarital affairs.
The study of 80,000 voters in five US states found that Democrats used the Ashley Madison adultery website substantially less than Republicans, Libertarians, Greens and unaffiliated voters. Libertarians consistently ranked as the site’s most frequent clients.
The results highlight an apparent paradox where those with more conservative views and supposedly stricter attitudes towards sex seem happier to hop into bed with someone outside their relationship than more liberal types.
“Our results are perhaps the strongest evidence yet that people with more sexually conservative values, although they claim to act accordingly, are more sexually deviant in practice than their more sexually liberal peers,” the researchers write in Archives of Sexual Behaviour.

I noticed the same at work and as a boss: the Republicans cheat constantly and yet are also constantly bragging about their moral superiority to Democrats. I have cheated zero times on my wife and my taxes. I guess that makes me inferior to the talkative Trump voters I know. They always have an angle, a corner they cut, some income they don't report, a little larceny, on their tax preparation. And they share tips on how to pay less than they owe and not get caught!

There’s a reason presidents aren’t supposed to talk about monetary policy, and that’s the 1972 election. Back then, as we now know from his tapes, President Nixon was able to pressure then-Fed Chair Arthur Burns into cutting rates when he really shouldn’t have in the run-up to his reelection. The result was not only faster growth that helped Nixon secure a second term, but also what would eventually be much higher inflation that would take over a decade to wring out of the economy. And it’s something we still have to worry about today. That’s because lower rates are always good for a president’s short-term prospects, but aren’t always for the economy’s long-term ones. The only way to solve this problem, then, is to avoid it by keeping politicians out of monetary policy to begin with.
It’s something Trump might learn the hard way.

How the Right Wing Convinces Itself That Liberals Are Evil
Since the 1950s, the conservative movement has justified its bad behavior by persuading itself that the left is worse.
If you spend any time consuming right-wing media in America, you quickly learn the following: Liberals are responsible for racism, slavery, and the Ku Klux Klan. They admire Mussolini and Hitler, and modern liberalism is little different from fascism or, even worse, communism. The mainstream media and academia cannot be trusted because of the pervasive, totalitarian nature of liberal culture.
So-called Never Trump conservatives lament that the Republican Party and, indeed, the conservative movement have ceased to be about ideas beyond slavish devotion to Trump’s cult of personality. But this critique ignores the centrality of the idea of liberal nefariousness even in the self-consciously intellectual corners of the conservative movement. Jonah Goldberg, who has been affiliated with National Review for twenty years, has called for a revived conservative intellectual vigor to tackle the policy challenges of the twenty-first century. He was also the author, in 2008, of the book Liberal Fascism, which—until a last-minute change by Goldberg—bore the subtitle The Totalitarian Temptation from Mussolini to Hillary Clinton.
The idea that the left is depraved, corrupt, and ruthless has been an important strain of American conservatism since the movement began. But it has metastasized. Right-wing policy ideas have been so thoroughly discredited — does anyone even argue anymore that trickle-down economics will ensure mass prosperity? — that the only apparent reason for conservatism’s existence is to fight back against evil liberals. This is, of course, not the sign of a healthy political movement. But has it ever been healthy?
In 1961, what did the right-wing say about Medicare for the elderly? The American Medical Association produced an LP in which an actor opened a broadside against the proposed Medicare program by attributing to Norman Thomas, a six-time Socialist Party candidate for president, a made-up quote that “under the name of liberalism the American people will adopt every fragment of the socialist program.” Because these ideologies were so interchangeable in the imaginations of many conservatives — and were covertly collaborating to enact their nefarious agenda — this meant that it was both important and necessary to fight back through equally underhanded means, e.g. Medicare = Communist slavery of doctors.
The title of that LP? Ronald Reagan Speaks Out Against Socialized Medicine. It’s a reminder that the future president lied freely and constantly in his attempt to stop Medicare. Now he is a Republican Saint.

As for the economy, Bush or Obama had very little control. The economy is controlled by me and 3,000,000 more just like me. My group outnumbers the US military and has far more firepower than the Pentagon. My group is powerful because of the system Washington and Jefferson set into motion to protect rich people like themselves from poor people like 6ix. That being said, Trump does have control of little parts of the economy. Interstate sale of electricity for example. Pity Rick Perry. His boss demands not only his loyalty but his soul. Trump’s plan will take $16.7 billion a year from consumers and redistribute it to Trump’s coal and nuclear industry allies, according to The Brattle Group, the energy industry’s foremost consultants.
The former Texas governor built his political career on the slogan “Texas, open for business.” His conservative philosophy was simple: Wipe away regulations, lower taxes and promote free enterprise.
Then he accepted President Donald Trump’s offer to serve as secretary of energy.
Perry is struggling to find a plausible excuse to reward Trump’s coal-industry donors and supporters by blowing up the nation’s competitive electricity markets, which have made U.S. electricity bills the envy of the world.
The fact that Perry oversaw the groundbreaking privatization of the Texas electricity market makes his recent work especially galling. One might expect our former governor to cite his experience, defend free enterprise, encourage private-sector solutions and denounce government interference. Not this time.
Trump promised to save and grow the coal and nuclear power industries even though neither is competitive in the age of cheap natural gas and renewable energy. So he’s ordered Perry to devise a scheme to force private electric companies to buy expensive electricity from privately owned nuclear and coal-fired power plants.
For over a year, Perry has floundered in justifying this unprecedented government intervention. In April 2017, he asked experts at the Department of Energy to assess whether increased reliance on gas and renewables would endanger the power supply. They concluded no, it doesn’t.
Last fall, he proposed a rule to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission requiring the use of coal-fired and nuclear power to guarantee resilience. The Republican majority rejected his reasoning, siding instead with the 95 percent of electric companies and grid operators who said it was unnecessary.
According to a memo obtained last month by Bloomberg News, Perry’s new plan is to declare a national emergency under the Federal Power Act and the Defense Production Act. He says we can’t rely on natural gas power plants because pipelines are too vulnerable to cyberattack.
Therefore, subsidies for nuclear and coal-fired power plants are necessary because they keep weeks of fuel on site, Perry argued. His hyperbole fails even basic analysis.

I'm not owned by anybody.
Before I got the job I'm working now, I went 2 1/2 years without working. Granted it was a total waste of time and I drank it all away, but the point is that I didn't work all that time, I didn't incur any debt and I still have a credit rating of 822.
I love my current job. It pays the bills, it's given me a body I haven't had since my early 20's, I've saved nearly $5,000 since I started, and they know that I won't work more than 3 days a week at my current pay, so don't even bother asking me. They even give the two 3 day blocks all together, so I work 6 then have 8 off.
I'm one of the most free mother fuckers in this country.
I don't blame people like you for being afraid of people like me. Yanno... those who don't "need" to surround themselves with a bunch of new shit they don't need and can't afford. The people who aren't wage slaves and aren't forced to work whatever menial job they can just to pay off their debtors.
I can live so far under the radar with almost zero income and a literal TON of free time.
You got the wrong Prole, son. And you and your rich buddies should count your blessings that I'm just an anomaly and there aren't' an army of people like me.
