But that didn't keep me from seeing Bill Clinton's and Barrack Obama's MANY and glaring faults, which ran - unsurprisingly!- along the very same lines as GWB.
It's a POLICY problem, not a personality one. It doesn't matter whether the President is a smooth talker like Bill and Barrack, or an apparent stumble-bum like GWB: Foreign "interventions" and provocations, the wealth gap and job loss ... have only gotten worse and worse since Clinton. Bush and Obama were no exceptions.
Trump, for all his many faults, is doing something VERY different. I disagree 120% with his "trickle-down" vision, but I hope he makes progress in withdrawing from our far-too-many military engagements (on behalf of the wealthy and powerful), re-balancing our trade imbalances and restoring our sovereign rights.

My point continues to be: As the nation with the overwhelmingly largest military force in the world (and the budget deficit to prove it) we must FIRST, DO NO HARM. Now, bombing, shooting, shelling, and torturing people - or paying, training and equipping others to do it for you ... CLEARLY does harm, so before we start down that road we have to make sure that we aren't doing more harm than good. The only way I know to ensure THAT is to make sure that you only use violence to directly defend yourself or others against violence. Otherwise you will probably wind up killing people because of "communism" or "freedom" or some other rationalization, and wind up doing far more harm than good.
One of the other problems using violence to achieve political ends is that once that process starts, only the most violent will get their way. In a nation with elections, there is absolutely no purpose to initiating or stoking violence, and any group that does that should be immediately suspect. That includes us.

I would just ignore RF or talk about him as though he isn't actually here from now on without every addressing him directly. It's apparent that he has absolutely nothing of value to say, and he's just looking for some attention, which up to this point we've sadly given him.

News stories say that Trump wants a sixth military branch, the Space Force. I could only name four: Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force because the fifth military branch is completely unlike the others: the Coast Guard. Their mission is to do no harm, same as Signym's "we must FIRST, DO NO HARM."
The other branches are designed only for doing harm. The Air Force with its H-bombs and the Navy with it subs for nuking civilians by the billions. If you’ve been in the Army or the Marines, you know those forces are overstaffed with men who really want to kill civilians to "protect" America. It is a joke, forget the word protect. They are itching to kill civilians. The philosophy and the psychology is kill civilians. Spread harm wherever you go. Until the generals in all military services think like the Coast Guard, there will be extraordinary amounts of unnecessary harm done. (Hellfire missile into a wedding.) It is harm that cannot be blamed on the President or the wealthy. But there is one exceptional President – Bush/Cheney.
Bush/Cheney was a worse president than Trump: he launched the Iraq War for oil that killed thousands of people and probably prevented us from winning the war in Afghanistan that we really needed to win. Trump hasn’t done that yet -- though he might, given time.
But there’s more to a president than that. There’s also the content of his character. I will never let Bush/Cheney off the hook for approving the torture of enemy combatants, but at least he had the excuse of doing it right after 9/11 and the decency of being kind of embarrassed about it (thus the euphemisms). Trump, by contrast, considers it “strong” to loudly and proudly support torture -- and the worse the better. Bush/Cheney also wasn’t racist, something he demonstrated a number of times. Trump appeals to the worst kind of racist and xenophobic sentiment, and he’s dragged the entire Republican Party along with him. Bush/Cheney lied like any other politician when he needed to, but Trump casually lies about everything just for the hell of it. He’s also ignorant, deliberately nasty, and has based nearly his entire presidency on taking revenge against Barack Obama. I could go on.
This makes Trump far worse to take on a daily basis.
