Firefly: Murosaki
Friday, 03 October 2008 02:06:14

Hi! New person here just to let you know that I am planning to do a really really slow fanfic of Firefly called Firefly: Murosaki. Yeah, crazy I know. No one can beat Joss with his stuff, but I felt like trying something new. New characters, new stories, and new gun fighting fun, hopefully you good fans will forgive me for borrowing Joss's world.
It's been a few weeks since the release of the news of Miranda. The Alliance is in an uproar and slowly but surely there is signs of civil war on the uprising. Both the military and the corporate worlds that support the Alliance are facing rivals for control. Of course, this does not matter to one Captain Ednali Haung of the Murosaki. Her only worry is being bored and balancing out her legal operations with the Alliance with the shadier deals in the black market. However she and her crew consisting the best man of her ex-fiance, a crabby old woman, a paranoid man, a single mother with her five year old daughter, and a love sick nurse get sucked into the a plot that could end not only the Alliance, but cause an all out war between the Core and Rim planets.
I hope you guys like the little bit I put in. So, far I have only have one and a half scenes done for the first episode. You'll find one of Joss's characters from Serenity is going to be a part of this crew and I promise you lots of laughs for it.

Things are looking up.

Two weeks with no internet.... Talk about withdrawals. Anyway, some things are happening. My girlfriends tumor turned out not to be cancerous. she is having surgery to have it removed tomorrow (as I write this). Also after four months of unemployment, I start a part time seasonal job working for Green Mountain Coffee roasters in the warehouse. Also the Allanverse is back up and running. I have five more chapters of Big Blue done and about ready for upload. Also a plot bunny hit me upside the head (Hard too) and I have seven chapters of a new fic set fifteen years into the future in the Allanverse. It starts off all fluffy and nice but some angst is coming. Still no primary BDH or OC deaths but some minor OC's get knocked off at some point. It's very focused on Zoe, Allan and their 14 year old daughter. The rest of the BDH's (and kids) are supporting players. As usual with my Allanverse, River shows up more than the rest. Anyway, keep flyin!

Firefly: Murosaki Trailer

"Well, well, well. Looks like I got you with your panties down, Capt'en." drawled out a lazy male voice. The person in front of him paused from moving. Slowly raising her arms to the air in the act of surrendering. She then look her time in turning around to face the one who betrayed her. Captain Ednali Haung mentally curse and rant at the situation that was before. She knew that it was too good to be true that there was a gun man who would not look to deep into the cargo that she was delivering. Anyone who did would rather steal the cargo for themselves instead of doing their job. That was the problem with hiring locals. They seem unable to understand the concept of doing the job first. She wrinkled her nose. The stupid wind was blowing pieces of her ebony hair into her face. Gorram Rim planet weather. "Well, well, well. Looks like you can't do your job." she sneered back. Her arms were getting tired. The gray trench coat was making arms feel heavy. She should have stuck to the lighter sweater wrap that Grandma Gi had suggested. But the sweater wrap did not make her look bad ass as she should be. Being short sucked and being only pretty/cute suck worse when one had to look like a captain. Her first mate looked bad ass in anything he wore. Her comment seemed to annoy her ex-hire hand since his jaw tighten and he kept his aim on her steady. "Don't see wha's the problem here. I got you with my gun pointed and I can get you to tell that pretty boy to drop the cargo anywhere I want. That Alliance cargo is going to make me and my friends pretty shiny around these parts." he commented grimly. Ednali only rolled her eyes and sighed sadly. "You seem to be mistaken. I hired you to do what I tell you and to be expendable." she said as she shook her head solemnly. Then she jerked her head up and narrowed her eyes. "And you just became expendable." Before the man could understand what was going on; blood exploded from his head and his body fell to the ground. Ednali grinned as she lowered her arms to her sides and walked up to the newly dead man. Looking down at the shot through the head, she gave a couple of hard kicks before taking out a small comm unit. "So that sniper rifle good?" "Worth every little credit we paid for, Captain." came a tinny male voice from the speaker. "Shiny. Get Paulie to my coordinates. I got a body for my thrusters to burn." "What about the other guy? We gonna throw him in the fans?" "Nah. I got something better for that fat proker." she answered before snapping the comm unit off. Looking down from the cliff and seeing the town below, she gave smirk. "Something a whole lot better." ----------------------- I hope you guys like the trailer. As I mentioned before, I'm really really slow in writing out this fanfic. So far I'm on scene three of episode one. Hopefully I'll get it going soon.

Well, I survived my first weekend at my new job... Barely. I tell ya' after being fairly active at my old job, then sitting on my pi-gu for almost five months (Mostly writing the Allanverse) Suddenly doing pick and pack in a warehouse for 12 hours at a whack damn near killed me. Green Mtn. Coffee Roasters is one of the largest coffee brewers here in the USA. You know those cool little single cup coffee brewers you see around. the ones from Kurig where you drop in the little plastic cup of coffee and brew a single cup? Damn near every one of those little K-cups comes through the warehouse where I work :banghead: As a newbie, I work in the pick tunnels. as the orders are put into the computer. people walk up and down the 200 fool long tunnels pulling product and putting it on the conveyor system. there are four of these tunnels. Beside each pallet of product is a display. a light flashes next to the product with an LED readout of how many to pull. pull the boxes and repeat until break time. Then repeat etc. On Sunday's there are only two people in the tunnels so I am constantly patrolling in search of the little flashing lights. All for a whopping $11.50 an hour Also on another note, My Girlfriend Rose does indeed have Cancer. the Biopsy done three weeks ago upon a double check was inconclusive. Last Friday, they did a surgical biopsy to obtain a better sample. from what they saw during the procedure, they are now convinced that it is the big C. The up side of this (If there is one) is that it seems to respond to drug treatment already and it was caught early. The doc's are hopeful for a full recovery. She has another appointment later this week. Keep your fingers crossed everyone. Brian

So with 53 posted, I have now got in my possesion the longest thing i have ever written. it is now about 170 pages long and will probably meet the 200 mark before i finish. I want to thank you all for being there, even when it was a bit of a ling wait between parts. :fork: I hope to actually publish something of my very own, minus the borrowing of said characters from other great pieces of creativity, but wanted you all to know that you gave me the want to continue and the confidence that maybe I am a half way decent writer  So enjoy 53 and the others to come. I am not stopping my take on Firefly. I will be still writing. Mustn't leave Cat and the gang hanging. :hanged: might get some hate mail on that if i did. So anyway, just letting you all know. My fellow browncoats, you soooooo rock!!! :smokin:

For adults only ...

Okay, and I'm only putting this up here because I was laughing out loud while I watched it ... James Gunn has made a series of what he calls PGPorn, for (as the tag says) people who love everything about porn - except the sex. And the first one stars our very own Nathan Fillion, in an episode entitled Nailing Your Wife. Apart from the fact that it's hilarious, you really have to see this to believe it. And no sex! Go to (hope this works) www.pgporn.tv and check it out. Less than three minutes, it has truly mindnumbing acting from someone who has to be damn good to pull it off!

You need to check these out....

Sunday, 12 October 2008 22:30:09

Finally, I can ease up a bit. Apart from too few fleeting visits I've not been around -just drifting on the edge of everywhere. Don't seem to see many names I recognise -reckon too much has happened in the last couple of years. brief chat with Cosmic and Slice in chatroom earlier -they remembered me -that was nice. Now to spend the next few hours cruising he site to see what's been going on. Bye for now.

Fanfic update and computer issues
Monday, 13 October 2008 03:47:21

So. Guns is done and there's plenty more where it came from. I promised, so you're gonna get it, whether or not you're going to read it. However for two glowering reasons, 'Where They Don't Follow' is going to be a short while in coming: First of all I have to get enough of the dang thing rough-drafted in longhand to get it typed, betaed and posted on a semi-regular schedule (might end up being bi-weekly instead of the weekly Guns postings). Which leads to second of all, the big problem, a problem I'm getting extremely frustrated with right this moment: This damn computer will not stop scrolling up by itself - at the least predictable moments, no less. Browsers, Word, Notepad, everywhere. Makes typing extremely difficult and results in typos in the most inconvenient places. It has done so a half dozen times so far in this one paragraph (and there's #7 now). I've noticed recently that the scroll pad is considerably warmer than normal, and I'm taking a scientific wild-assed guess that that has something to do with it. If anyone here is at all familiar with Toshiba laptops, is this a known issue, particularly with the A135-S4437? And if so, is it an easy fix or does it require Geek Squad attention? Any assistance rendered is very much most appreciated as this is getting very, very annoying. Lotsa xie-xie. - Steemah

Rewind.
Monday, 13 October 2008 12:54:40

Okay.. This is just a wee tv nostalgia blog. There's nothing too deep or meaningful in its content. I wanted to showcase some things that you may not have heard of. When I think back to my teens, it's scary how much stuff I liked. I was into a broad spectrum of drama - from the really good to the so-bad-it's-good. 'The Tribe' was a New Zealand post apocalyptic teen drama. Think Mad Max for kids. The programme was low budget, with a predominantly teenage cast emoting in a schmaltzy way. All the grown ups were dying of a virus. The cities were evacuated, leaving the kids to fend for themselves. There was a big bad called Zoot, and he was the leader of the evil Locos. He ruled the city, and he looked like a Nazi. Amber was the leader of a tribe who sheltered the helpless in an abandoned shopping mall. It was a teenage soap opera. I actually stopped watching around season four, when the quasi futuristic/religious tribe came in. They had this fanatical leader, which kind of grated on me at the time.. Hehehehe. But yeah.. I thought that it had some cool characters. Amber, Lex, Salene, Ebony - (Zoot's second in command), Danni and Tai San were my favourites. Here's some YouTube goodness: Ep #1. Clip #1.

My Muse has returned!

I have a short story almost finished! It'll go to my beta the first half of this week and hopefully it will appear soon. It's not a young Mal story and is set post BDM so this will be a stretch for me. And I half half of another one down on the computer (I wanted to say it was "down on paper" but I write on the computer!). I want to apologize too. Real life has been really throwing me some curve balls for the past 10 months or so. It's kept me very busy and frankly the desire to write left me for a while. First my Mom passed in May and my beloved Uncle passed last Wednesday morning after many years of battling emphysemia. Smoking cigarettes has directly or indirectly caused the deaths of my Grandmother, Mom and now my Uncle. Needless to say I say to everyonne, don't start and if you do smoke quit. It is possible. I've also gotten involved in the organizing the Raleigh CSTS. Lots of things to do and lots of cool people to do it with, like Phyrelight and our fearless leader Taimdala. Both are Browncoats extraordinaire. And I've also been asked to join the Donation Advisory Board of KidsNeedtoRead. It's Nathan Fillion and PJ Haarsma's charity that donates book to underfunded libraries. It's a cause near and dear to my heart and I'll certainly do my best. Thanks for your patience and thank you again and again.

Firefly Power!!!
Saturday, 18 October 2008 01:34:01

So I just had my first ever midterm and was it was terrifying! For luck I wore my Jayne t-shirt, my browncoat bracelet and chopsticks in my hair. In one of the questions we had to write o whole bunch of XML code and we got to choose what the content list was about...needless to say I listed the nine actors, character names, interests, age, relationship status canon&fanon and was even able to use special codes when descirbing where they live. Hopefully my firefly channeling will make sure I do well on the rest of the exam! I studied soooooo gorram hard!

So as you prolly know, I'm obsessed with this tv show called Firefly....uttterly obsessed. And I was listening to the Signal, a firefly podcast, and they were having this competition to win gold passes to this convention. So I'm going to Burbank on November 22-23...actually, I'll leave on Friday. Gold pass members get reserved seatings for the panels, complimentary in-person autographs with all the attending cast members *GUH* and a brunch sunday morning with the cast members *GAH* I get to meet ADAM BALDWIN!!!!! *faints* He is such an amazing actor and has been in so many stuff and is so nice and humble from what I've heard in interviews and such and SQUEE!! So I've been smiling none stop since I've heard and everything is just so incredibly shiny!

Wolf Fenrir and River Tam ....?
Thursday, 23 October 2008 14:51:13

Wow its that time again, winter is almost here and christmas is just around the bend....well sort of. Any still messing my stolen ipod, but i have leanred not to be so moody about it. beat Just Cause for the xbox couple days ago, it was a good game, working on beating ninja gaiden 2, merc. 2, and Too Human. There all good games i have to say though i like too human more then the other two, then ninja gaiden, followed by merc. 2 there good games but everyone has there own favorites. Now here is a riddle why does it cost money on exbox live to change your gamertag name...i think you should be able to change it if you want to. Also some new updates for stories comming up soon. I also would like to say there might be a new story comming around the bend i am not sure yet. Its going to be a Firefly fanfic, everything is going to be Au though, its going have bits and pieces of too human in it and some nordic mythology. Also a tiny bit of naruto. I got inspired to write this by, first reading Adam's Rib on the blue sun by Jacqui. Then i did a report on The Giant Wolf Fenrir and i have come up with the idea that maybe i could change firefly a tiny bit by making the blue handed people seal Fenrir into River with out her knownledge. Anyway that's all i wanted to say for today.

Long time . . .
Friday, 24 October 2008 16:25:08

Wow, I haven't logged into this site in months! I've just been too busy. But a friend posted a new fic and I wanted to leave a review. I realized that I'd never posted where I'd gone - if anyone even reads these blogs anyway, I figured I'd leave a message now and thank everyone who followed my fic during the time I played in the Firefly 'verse. I don't write much fic anymore - I've moved on to writing original scripts (and looking for representation) but I do still read occasionally.

My impression of Firefly...
Sunday, 26 October 2008 17:23:49

I recently received the DVD set and Serenity as well for my birthday. I dragged my feet watching Firefly as I just didn't seem to find time to watch it. This all changed a few weeks later when the same friend was hosting a get together and I still hadn't watched any of the set. I didn't want to say I hadn't watched it yet so one night I loaded up Disc one and watched the pilot. I really enjoyed it, but I didn't really get why the Alliance was bad. A few nights later I watched the "The Train Job" and got hooked. I started watching at least a show every night By the time I saw "Our Mrs Reynolds" I was filled with mixed emotion's. I loved this show more than any sci-fi show I'd ever seen but I didn't understand how it could only be one season...It was so much fun to watch. Well I watched the whole series in a few days and then watched Serenity. I am left speechless. I only wish there was more. Browncoats forever!

Good so far...

My girlfriend Rose is responding well to the chemo. However this week, her hair began to fall out. Her solution? A preemptive strike by having her daughter giver her a GI Jane style buzz cut. She is in good spirits and we hope to kick this things Pi-gu by Christmas. On the writing front, Big blue is almost done. I'm writing what I think the last chapter. Heritage will continue and I plan several one shots like Haunting to fill in the time between Big Blue and Heritage. I'm still working part time but had to take today off due to a sprained ankle that I got at work last week. I thought it had healed but by the time I got home... My ankle inflated and hurt like heck. More Ice and elevation. That's all for now, Brian

My 2008 political Poem
Tuesday, 28 October 2008 21:06:25

Poem withdrawn. I have decided that fireflyfans.net needs to remain for me a site devoted to my love of the 'verse. I'm sorry, but that is just how I feel. I was actually quite proud of the poem. Ah well.
