And yet, from 2005 until the Democrats shut the world down in 2020, the box office increased for 15 years despite movie piracy.
In 2005, the Worldwide box office was $20,704,773,049.
By 2019, the Worldwide box office was $39,140,084,21.
There were only 2 years out of those 15 that the box office was lower than the year before, but only by about $100 Million out of the Tens of Billions made.
Then, after Democrats couldn't keep the world shut down any longer, we went from $8,647,521,488 worldwide in 2020 to $19,489,622,392 in 2021. This increased to $22,564,169,328 in 2022 and again to $26,294,373,537 in 2022.
Had that trajectory kept up this year, we'd be over $30 Billion again already, despite Bidenflation.
But the Democrats and the Media couldn't lie the shitty economy away forever, especially not when the bottom fell out in 2024.
And the VERY unfortunately timed writers and actors strikes killed about half of the movies they intended on releasing this year.

A lot of Directors seem to have 'Lost It' no longer have that movie magic element, not just small indie guys but the big bankable names the big names Ridley Scott, Ron Howard etc they can still do ok film or tv shows but the 'magic' seems gone
there are few New Celebrity Faces arriving in the new lines of Celebrity, they need older guys like Tom Cruise or RDJ or Tom Hardy for hits.
Entertainment in general, they are tried of getting preached to. The people are going back to Video Gaming and then your streaming studios that were supposed to take over as others stepped back from Cinema, the Prime Video through Amazon MGM etc they are also suffering.

That was 2005 and movies on DVD. In 2024, the movies will stream to your home TV after only a few weeks, not months, from opening in theaters. Hollywood’s Death Spiral, which is causing movie theaters to face extinction, continues. This is a little different than easily available movies from pirates, but the effect on movie ticket sales is the same.

Though I don't necessarily disagree with this statement, it's foolish to say that there aren't smart people who enjoy going to the movies.
That being said, the last movie I paid to see in a theater was over 20 years ago. It's just one of many thousands of things I live without and why I'm not a wage slave like most of the rest of you are.
As we know, there are a lot of stupid people out there.
And the theater box office numbers prove that to be true as well.
