Don’t listen to the PR firms and rich parents circling the wagons around these young adults. Most, if not all, are seniors in high school, so we shouldn’t be calling them kids. They’re damn near full grown 17, 18, and 19 year olds.
Imagine having the kind of privilege where if you fuck up this badly, you can pay a PR firm (RunSwitch PR based in Kentucky) to do crisis management on national TV. That is serious, serious money and privilege, and this is how they choose to allocate their capital. Truly masters of investing and rugged individualism, aren’t they?
That specific PR firm does damage control for lots of prominent conservatives. This is what they do.
These kids knew they would get the benefit of the doubt because they always have.
It’s like they forgot all about the other video where two girls walk by and get harassed by them, or the "It's not rape if you enjoy it" comment.
Imagine if people came out and said, “I support the president but what these kids did looked bad.” Instead they doubled down, hired a crisis PR firm and made the smiling smug little shit into some kind of “stand your ground” hero.
When you have so many people who refuse to believe their own eyes, it’s embarrassing and dangerous. This really wasn’t a significant event but it highlights the disconnect we have in our country. People will bend over backwards to defend someone else wearing that stupid-ass hat, even if they’re acting like an animal on camera.

Do you have supporting evidence that they were mostly seniors? They didn't look like seniors to me, at least a lot of them.
There was only one 19 year old in my senior class. A real idiot that got held back a year or two. 18 year olds were pretty hard to come by too. 17 would be the likely high end.
Maybe they've changed the age cut off months to start taking in young children into school so they're older when they graduate now. I haven't been in school for 20 years, so I'm not going to rely on past experience to argue that.
All I can say is none of those kids looked like adults to me in the video.

I think I would evaluate whatever comes up on the basis of "who approached who first". There was an incident where a man watching a parade accused a parade marcher of assault, and yet you can clearly see the man watching the parade launch himself off the curb and into the parade so ...??
