KIKI: The rod across the back of the closet: A clothes hangar is approximately 24" wide from shoulder tip to shoulder tip, but it's only HALF that from center hook to shoulder tip. Hence the distance from the clothes rod to the wall only needs to be as wide as center hook to shoulder tip. There's absolutely no need to put a rod a full 24" from the wall. It could be attached at the chase and the far right-hand wall.
The rods along the lefthand side wall ... same thing. They only need to be about 14" from the wall, which is about half of the width of a hangar plus a couple of inches extra clearanace. The rod could be attached to the chase, but since there's no attachment point at the bifold door they can be attached by a bracket They even have rod brackets with shelves so no need to build and attach separate shelves
I actually have 4 of shelf hangers in that picture, or very similar at least... Brand new and shiny white. I don't remember even buying them, but I found them when I was de-hoarding my house. I think you can actually see the tips of a few of them poking up at the bottom of one of the pics I took of the closet.
I think what Kiki meant about things butting into each other was the fact that in both corners of the clothes rods around the chase, hung clothes would be butting into each other. The front of the chase is only 18" wide, so the two racks of clothes would stick out about 6" past that. The chase is only 15" deep, so the clothes rack in the back would stick out 9" past that.
There would just be a little dead space in that corner is all, where you wouldn't want to put any clothes.... either 4"-6" on the left side of the back rod, or 7" to 9" on the two rods on the left.

I'm going to have to get a job after my dental work, but maybe I shouldn't rush into that until it heals. Would be terrible trying to recover from all those teeth being pulled then getting the flu from working around a bunch of sick people who can't afford to take an unpaid day off of work.

Aww... sounds like fun. If I was by you I'd come over with the sledgehammer I broke up all that concrete with and break that thing to bits in 20 seconds flat.

It's going to be a fairly easy job. Got some of my DVDs and videos out of it. Two shelves came out easily and I didn't need a hammer to remove the top. Just lifted edge up, I didn't mention it was loose and a couple of good pulls and it came off. Hammer took the nails out of it. I will get them down to the garbage in the next day. Then I have to empty the two side shelves and go from there. Then it is seeing if I can find something to repurpose for my dvds and videos.

Not sure about videos (VHS?), but I always see DVD racks on the cheap at Goodwill nearly any time I go there. (It's been a LONG time since I've gone there other than dropping stuff off, and one time I stopped there to see if they had a belt since I was going to pick one up while buying some other essentials at WalMart and I lucked out and got one for 2 bucks instead).
Speaking of hoarding... I'm watching a new(ish) episode of Hoarders right now and it feels amazing. First time I watched that show and it's not filling me up with an urgent need to clean. Nothing I need to get rid of and plenty of room to do all my work now. And I've also been making a regular effort to clean the kitchen and the bathroom so I don't need 2 days notice to clean the house before people come over. You can pretty much just drop by at any time now.
