I'm thinking a revenge of blue sun or the academy or something. We only know that the operative killed Dr. Mathias and a couple of blue hands, but there could be many more and River's message to Simon was they are hurting 'us' not just 'me.'
Personally, I think that is the best direction we could go in. We really don't know that much about Blue Sun. Maybe Blue Sun even wants revenge on the Alliance it self for what the Operative did? So many possibilities.

Sheesh, I think you might be projecting a bit. I discussed the possible merits and possible shortcomings - and you seem to be taking it personally. Don't get upset because the story you throw out there, after snarkily complaining about any other idea, has easy to spot problems.

So you think Wash is an unpleasant or unquotable character? Huh.

You do realize you are defending somethin' said in a damn script, not an actual person, right?
Just because it was said by someone on FF don't mean it ain't a jerkwad question when used out here in the real world...

Now that's not a half bad idea, but I doubt that many people escaped on thier own. I am intrigued by River searching out or even busting out a person or two. Maybe that could be her new mission in life or something?

I was thinking the same. I dunno if it's firefly cannon, but the serenity rpg book says Serenity is actually a decommissioned medship conversion firefly. Maybe they're new mission of sorts could be to rescue the other academy students and for Simon to help them get better. All the while Blue Sun is playing playing public would-be revolutionaries against the Alliance's suddenly shaky grip on power while trying to track down Serenity's crew and reclaim River, their greatest success, maybe with a student mole!
Maybe I should write something like that after I finish 'Secret Agent Tam.' Only I don't know I could do the concept justice. I enjoy the funny stuff way too much.

Heck I don't know why she wouldn't hand the crew over on a silver platter for a half hour off her sentence.
Also she seemed to go pretty revengy on Mal in Trash.
Weren't nothin' wrong with "Trash" my only problem is -it's been done. Why rehash if we ain't gotta? I'm sure there's enough of the 'verse we haven't seen.
Hand over who? I'm pretty sure most of the 'verse knows where ta find 'em after Serenity...My problem is I don't see the Crew getting away with any heist, after.
Gettin in a fight and making Mal get nekkid were moments of opportunity, hell, it took her seven years to come up with stealing the lassiter (or she woulda taken it with her when she left) and she wasn't even looking for or planning revenge when she ran into him. All she wanted was the gun and gettin away...

Mmmm, I like it, it tastes sneaky!
I understand the funny trouble, I'm the kinda gal who laughs at a funeral. Few people get that, or me- for that matter...

Why would you think that? It's not like they were in the broadcast, or signed their names to it. Sure, the Alliance knows they did it, but they've always been after the crew, so no huge change in status quo there.
Not saying their lives wouldn't change at all afterward, but I can't imagine they'd suddenly become known across the 'verse.

Hence my use of the word "character." Would you like the definition of that word, in the context I was using it?
char·ac·ter
-noun
a person represented in a drama, story, etc.
a part or role, as in a play or film.
You do realize that favorite lines and characters are often quoted by fans, right? Obsession with a show will often manifest in this way.
Also? Nobody did care. It was applicable.
