Riiiiiii-iiiight. The PROPER way to kill them is to strap them to a board and slowly drown them! That's SO much more humane...

How do you live w/ yourself, when you know for a fact that you're distorting my views, often 180 degrees from what I've repeatedly said. ?

I suspect you know you're merely trolling for the effect of causing some sort of reaction, but it really comes down to how sad and pathetic and individual you are. You are simply void of any hint of honesty or civility. Bearing false witness , to you, means nothing, so long as some perverse sense of satisfaction is met.

We've never sentenced anyone to death by the methods you claim, yet you draw a direct comparison between stoning and water boarding ?

I'll take how we performed the water boarding, every day, & you take the stoning.

I guess according to you, she got the last word in.

And by a chick, no less.

Do you TRY for Epic Fail, Wulfie - or does it just come natural to you?

Good thing I don't give a damn what the citizens of the Bronze Age are doing, so long as it doesn't threaten my health.

You are a strange Beast. You've been around here long enough to know that cold hearted logic has no place in the discussion around here. Why do you keep using it when it's obvious that's not what we do here. Take your logic and go find a forum were people have open minds and it will do some good.

Pizmo

You are correct. It is the media, not the govt.

As for the conspiracy, the MSM elite have more agenda monkeys than the Govt., so that could still be.

As for Iran providing the material, yes and no. Possibly someone arranged for this to point out the barbary, if only because there is a judge involved. Even in a remote region it seems unlikely.

Still and all, I'd say that someone is fishing for a cause for war.

I oppose the death penalty, because I have squishy, delicate sensibilities. Its barbaric. But perhaps we can admit different degrees of barbarism, and not trip over ourselves in the rush to turn Iran's brutal Bronze Age practices into a window on our own failings. I don't need a poor Iranian woman to be stoned to put the US in perspective.

Oh but I think you can. You can say that 'we put our citizens to death in a slightly less barbaric fashion' but you can't really, morally get outraged about a system that supports murdering its citizens when you do that as well.

We've ordered people waterboarded; people have died as a result of our torture programs. Thus, we DID "sentence" them to death by torture. The comparison is quite apt. It's national policy to torture people, and to kill them.

Same end result. You're quibbling over the HOW of the death penalty, and never asking WHY, or even IF it's good policy. Once you sanction government-sponsored murder, the "how" of it is just a matter of degrees.

By the way, in your reaction to my post, you claim I'm merely posting to provoke a reaction. I say "Jump!", you say "How high?", eh?

One might say I'm in your head...

Exactly. We're not complaining THAT they're killing their citizens; we're complaining about HOW they're killing their citizens. It's barbaric that nobody at the governmental level even seems to question whether killing one's citizens at all is a good idea.

Kwickie,

So, by your twisted logic, we should ban cars, airplanes, boating, swimming, rock climbing, skateboarding, cycling, walking under trees, roofing, basketball, running,.... pretty much anything that has resulted in death. Because if the end result is death, it's the exact same as a death sentence.

We've never sentenced anyone to death via waterboarding. Final.

You're such a colossal fool, I'm not wasting any more of my time on this.

I can see someone wanting to help tarnish their image but to connect that to war just seems extreme imho. If the story were about nukes or military I might see it. This just has that new media feel of poking at our sense of outrage quickly, it has no real relevance to world news. There are probably thousands worse things happening on a daily basis in other countries, but just so happens this is "Iran" which scores very high in the public consciousness word cloud = cha-ching.
