Thank you again, AgentRusco! As long as there is demand, and my costumes make people happy, I'll keep going.
FFG...no chain, please!
I actually started modding the pattern again tonight. I have the corner about right. I will keep plugging, I promise!

Well, o.k. I'd hate for Marina and I to get into a tussle but I sure want my ZoeCoat. Makes me giddy just to think.

I could stand to hear a little more.
The Zoe coat should make it's 'debut' sometime next week.

Morning, all!
Still home sick, but I did manage to get the modified shell built for the Kaylee coat...this is the one with the darts in back as requested by some of the fine ladies in here. Remember, this is not the final cloth, and the edges of this one will look a little rough because it is not lined. All of the coats will be lined (thank you Seryn, by the way...your telling me about the lining caused me to slap my head and say "Doh!") I'll post the pics and then go into details below them.

Alright, the brass tacks...
The normal, boxy Kaylee jacket will run $70.00 plus shipping (I need more of the Chinese fabric than I thought).
The modified Kaylee jacket will run $80.00 plus shipping(those darts cut into stitching time like you wouldn't believe!)
These prices are subject to change if I find a better or (hopefully) cheaper source of fabric.
For measurements, I will need bust, waist, hip, and arm length (thank you for thinking of that, Serenity!). I know you may not want to post that info here, so please email me at tristan71@cableone.net I should be able to start building these starting next weekend. I have been sick and I will have a lot of work to catch up with starting Monday.
I WILL NOT take any pre-payments for these. I don't like the thought of you paying for something you haven't seen, so I'll do this like I did the Browncoats...I'll try to email you when I start, and then I will email you pictures of the finished product. If you are satisfied, I will send you a PayPal Request for Money (or other arrangments) and will ship the jacket when the payment clears. I ship via UPS, and the charges are not that bad. If you give me your Zip Code, I can get you an estimate.
If there are any questions or comments, let me know!
Thank you all again for the inspiration!

I love it Tristan!
I've said it before, you've got talent. Got one question though: is the blue fabric you showed the fabric that will be on the jacket? If we find fabric we like better could we send it to you instead? What would it cost then if we were to buy the fabric? This is all coming from someone who wants to buy one, yet needs more funds before she could, so no rush in answering.

Thank you, EngineAngel!
If you can find your own fabric, then yes, it would cost less...I am not sure by how much. If you want to go that route, email me and we can talk about it. tristan71@cableone.net

Ooooh, I am very excited to see the Kaylee jacket in a final pattern!
This is a no-rush comment, but I wanted to throw it out there while I'm thinking about it. As far as the River funeral dress (I'm up for a tussle ANYtime girl!)...the only part I don't love about it is the hem. Do you think there's any chance you could go a little flamenco with the bottom of it? Make it less even, so some of it ruffles lower and some cuts a little higher? Just not straight across.
Just something to think about, I saw a skirt the other day that would have been the perfect bottom to the modified River dress.
Keeping the challenges coming...
Marina
EDIT: or maybe just make the front a little longer? I'm just not a huge fan of the bare knees.
Don't make faces.

Hello, all.
Quick update...I lost about four days because of the illness, but I will be working this week like a madman to catch up.
AgentRusco, if you read this, I got the message from the Vest thread...I promise to try not to get sick anymore!
Marina, thank you for the photo. That dress (and here come the famous last words) does not look too terribly difficult. It should not be all that tough to alter the bottom...make it more 'frilly/flamenco-ey' looking; or just make the front longer...yep, that would be easier by far!
The Zoe vest is midway through the second cut...about two days or so from completion. Then it has to go away for quality control/acceptance...if it passes that, then it will be ready for production. If not, then we will start working on the third cut. Hey, I want to be sure this is as 'right' and comfortable as possible!
The Zoe jacket is pert-near done. It was pointed out to me that there was a pocket on the back of the coat...and it took having someone point me to OOG to find it. Odd place for a pocket, but I'll be putting one there. As my model for this coat is an hour or so away, it may have to wait for the weekend to have pictures taken and posted.
The Kaylee jacket is ready to be cut out of the Chinese fabric. I could not figure out how to do the buttons, but finally decided to go with the do-it-yourself fabric-covered ones. So, a 'real' version of that should be posted tomorrow or Wendesday.
After that, I will be taking a long vacation before returning for round two!
Thank you all for your patience and ideas!

Holding for the Zoe Coat!
LOOOVE the preview.
BTW Tristan, I thought the Zoe Coat had snaps. I've lost the thread where someone posted pictures.
Marina: As much as it might amuse Tristan {naughty boy
}, no tussling. I'm sure you could kill me with your pinkie! Besides, that funeral dress looks mighty shiny and slinky. Good idea.
