If the Union spokesmen can barely control their fear of death and anger on TV, why are they police? Get a tranquil job somewhere else. A police force is not the Army. The police are not there to kill the enemy. And the Police can quit anytime. Police don't have to wait to quit until they return from overseas to resign.
Unlike the Police, the Mayor of NYC did signup for a four year tour of duty. Why does the Police Union think the Mayor of NYC should step down because the Police Union can't handle the pressure of being police?
To all New York City Police angry at the Mayor -- quit your crappy job and please come to Texas where the climate is warmer, the taxes are lower, and you can carry a gun as an ordinary citizen to protect yourself. Texas will be better with you here and New York will be better with you not there. It's a win-win.
And don't join the Police in Texas; you're trying to get away from the pressures you couldn't handle in the NYC Police Department.

It is not impossible for the NYC Police Union to blame the Mayor of NYC for the killing in Florida, but, hopefully, that spokesman hasn't completely lost his mind out of fear of his own death. Maybe the spokesman won't blame the Mayor, but I can't be sure.
For some police spokesmen, and Rudy Giuliani, their anger and fear is always about to explode, completely out of their control. They think they are being hyper-rational when they're really being just hyper-alert from too much emotion.
