Don't mean to "drift" from the forum topic here, but I just had to comment on this.
I LOVE the Matrix and I've seen it at least 5 times over the years. I don't remember which pill is which, although I can take a pretty good guess just by Rappy posting it. :)
Cypher, Johnny "Pants", was the biggest addict.....
When recalling The Matrix, everybody wants to think they're Neo, but most people are Cypher at best.... :(

Cypher is the epitome of the blue pill addict.
He doesn't care to know the truth, even when he's living in it. It's too hard to do the work required to form reality as it is. He wants the quick fix. To be drawn into the machine again, and just enjoy the delusion of all being just right w/the world.

Thanks for the lesson Rappy, although without remembering the nuances of that GREAT MOVIE I didn't need an explanation based off of the thread :)
It should have NEVER been a trilogy.
All the 2nd two movies did were ruin a perfect movie.

Interesting view. No recognition or understanding of the enduring subtle, unspoken, coded forms of racism. For you racism = segregation, white robes, lynchings etc. I can see why you think the battle is won.

Why I think the battle against racism is done is that most people I know judge people not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.
Dr. King and Rosa Parks won. The folks who want you to believe otherwise are mostly the folks who keep minorities down so they can use them for political purposes.

You actually need examples? Study after study... far too many to list... have pointed out, and KEEP pointing out, enduring subtle racism. I could rattle off the studies that I read ten years ago, that even "sounding black" over the phone was enough to stop a rental, and which explained the (still existent) sharp lines in housing patterns. But since you're apparently really really far out of the loop of reality, here are a few examples

Racism is like sexism. It still exists, and it still exists in the vast majority of people. Blacks are racist, just like whites. Women are sexist (against other women) just like men are. Sometimes, the only way to experience just HOW MUCH racism exists is to "pass" as the other race. There are plenty of examples of blacks passing as white. Not any (that I can find) of whites passing as black, other than Black Like Me, so you'll just have to use your imagination and some analogy to sexism.
Most sexist laws no longer exist, but is sexism ended? There is the story of a transgender biochemist who has experienced life as both a women and a man in the world of science, and basically he said that when he was a woman he had never experienced anything else, so he didn't know how bad it was... until he became a man.
