Santa slayer planned to kill his Texas family
GRAPEVINE - A disturbed father planned to kill his family when he walked into Christmas celebrations with two handguns hidden in a Santa suit, Texas police said as friends on Wednesday mourned the seven people slain.
His family appeared to have no clue that Azizolah "Boba" Yazdanpanah, 56, had snapped.
"There were no signs of a struggle," said Sergeant Robert Eberling of the Grapevine, Texas police.
Yazdanpanah had been separated from his wife for months and was squatting in their old house after a bank foreclosed upon it. The family's financial problems also included several bankruptcies.
He arrived at his wife's apartment around 11:15 am on Christmas Day and did not pull out the guns until after his sister-in-law arrived with her husband and daughter a few minutes later.
His niece even sent out a text message saying Yazdanpanah was "trying to be father of the year" before the shooting began, NBC news reported.
Police rushed to the apartment building after receiving a 911 call at 11:34 am Sunday in which someone who was gasping for breath said "help, help."
They found seven bodies near the Christmas tree, where the family had apparently just finished opening their presents.
Police said Yazdanpanah killed his wife, Fatemeh Rahmati, 55, their children Nona Yazdanpanah, 19, and Ali Yazdanpanah, 14, Rahmati's sister, Zohreh Rahmaty, 58; her husband, Mohamad Hossein "Cyrus" Zarei, 59; and their daughter, Sara Zarei, 22 before turning the gun on himself.
They all had gunshot wounds to the head and it appears they were killed in rapid succession. Cyrus Zarei was also shot in the chest and abdomen.
A classmate of his children described Yazdanpanah as conservative and very protective of his family

And now, the REST of the story...
The killer ? The so called " Christian ", dressed as Santa ?
Wasn't Christian at all. He was ... wait for it
Muslim.
Gee, why isn't THAT being mentioned more ?
Islamic honor killing in Texas: "Santa" who murdered family on Christmas morning was Muslim who didn't like his daughter dating a non-Muslim
Aziz Yazdanpanah, a Muslim, didn't like his daughter's non-Muslim boyfriend and was exhibiting stalker behavior. “She couldn’t date at all until she was a certain age, but when he was going to let her date she couldn’t date anyone outside of their race or religion.”
Again and again we have seen honor killings in which fathers kill daughters who are dating non-Muslims or have supposedly besmirched the family honor by some sexual indiscretion. Lt. Todd Dearing says that motive isn't important -- which is generally only the case when Islam is involved.

GRAPEVINE — Aziz Yazdanpanah seemed to be losing control of his life in recent months — his wife left him, his house was in foreclosure, and his 19-year-old daughter was dating a young man he didn’t like.
Even so, the 58-year-old former real estate agent from Colleyville seemed to be holding it together. Neighbors say he would smile and wave as he drove through his middle-class neighborhood. Recently, he was seen raking leaves in his yard.
“He was very friendly, a very good neighbor,” said Carrie Stewart, who lives across the street. “He was out here often doing yard work and he even watched our house for us when we went to Colorado.”

I don't think it is clear at all what jihadwatch alleges, that this was a religiously motivated massacre.
What is clear is confirmation bias on the part of jihadwatch.
What if the guy had been Christian or Jewish? Or Mormon or Pagan or Santerian? Would the religious affiliation of the killer matter then?
Maybe. Maybe not. Lots of dads don't like their daughters' boyfriends, regardless of religion. It doesn't mean that is why he killed.
We don't know. It is all speculation.

Heck, all the other things that were listed are by themselves sufficient for the guy to snap, let alone all together.
For example, there's lots of cases where a suicidal guy who has been left by his wife takes it out on his children then turns the gun on himself (and the gender reversal of the insane suicidal mother is true as well) - it's not strictly a Muslim thing.
If it was really JUST an honor killing and objection to his daughter's choice (not saying that maybe wasn't a factor), he wouldn't have killed himself too.
Thanks for pointing out there's more to the story, but don't lose sight of all the information.

I guess the main point is that what was left OUT of the story, that he was Muslim, and wearing a Santa outfit, with the obvious disconnect there, and the mention by one classmate that the guy was " conservative ", but just leaving it at that. Conservative what ? Hindu ? Jew ? Muslim ? Sure, he had a foreign sounding name, but with out any further explanation, I'd say most times when someone is described as a " conservative" and living in Texas, being Christian is implied. No where in the initial story was there ANY mention of the Islamic religion.
Though there is speculation, I agree. I don't see where anyone heard him yell " Allah Akbar! ", at any time.

Okay, so reputable media outlets don't say he was Muslim. The family was celibrating Christmas. You want us to believe an anti-muslim web-site....

They do this all the time, like calling people 'tea party' out of nowhere.
The one that really gets me is "right wing hate groups." I used to deal with hate groups because they prey on runaways. Right wing is not a term I would use to describe them.
