Dunno what the argument is about, didn't read past the claim the MSM didn't say he was wearing a Santa suit. I heard that on three different stations and read it on the news websites. Turning this into "left-wing-media bias" is stupid. Making the point the guy was Muslim and all the rest is predictably idiotic.
I'm not here much anymore, this place has become so predictable and so silly; it generally seems to devolve into the same people arguing against the same person, who doesn't make sense in the first place. I keep looking every morning, but don't end up reading entire threads. Suppose I should give up completely. Probably will; which saddens me. I used to enjoy this place and feel engaged, I guess because I got caught up in the same stuff as everyone else. Oh well...

Nikki, I have started many threads on alternative economies which you also ignored. Gotta say, it's not enough to be against something, you have to propose an alternative.
So, yeah... agree that rappy is almost always a waste of time, given his well-known allergy to facts. Ditto CTS, who approaches life with similar bias but from the other side. Not here for them. But then again, not here much at all.

Not aware I've "ignored" threads by you...haven't had anything to SAY on some threads I read (not necessarily yours); either others have covered what I would say or I don't know enough about the subject to comment. I don't even "ignore" threads by Rap, tho' I admit I often do PN's threads, 'cuz the title tells me all I need to know. But not yours, and not deliberately certainly. I just don't always have something to contribute...moreso lately than previously.

I know you've been one of the people saying most frequently we should be having interesting discussions among ourselves rather than responding to little Rappy (who seriously couldn't find his ass with both hands).
But it takes a fair bit of time and effort to have a decent discussion - people have to be prepared to present their information and explain their conclusions, and to engage in the topic when it comes at them from a different POV with a different dataset. And I don't know about you, but starting from b4 Thanksgiving till after New Year I'm pretty busy.
With any luck, things will improve in the next few weeks.

Yeah, I've been busy too, for a different reason, and not being here leaves me more time to work on OWS things, plus we have the actions and meetings and making signs for specific demonstrations and such, so you're probably right, being busy leavs me less time to be here.
Maybe it's partly that I see so much negativity here--not the arguments alone, but the predictable anti-government and conspiracy stuff. Caveat: I'm NOT pro-government to the extent I'm labeled, but there's a sense of paranoia here and hatred of the federal government which feels kinda internet-crazy at times. I guess I don't believe the government is nearly as focused on, or adept at, some of the things (some) people here believe. Working on OWS feels more like being pro-active (which I haven't found any reason to do for a long time), DOING something to hopefully cause actual change than sitting around grousing about it, in part.
I've never forgotten the bit on West Wing where CJ tells Josh off for engaging on a website about him, and how apt it sometimes is :Quote:

Thanx, Riona...I kinda get the feeling that was a back-handed compliment, but that's probably just me. It's nice to know I'd be missed...by a few anyway.
I believe the puppies were Shiba Inus, and I thank you for that. It piqued my interest and I've been learning about them, and talking to the people I meet on the beach and at the dog park who have one. But I'm afraid I fail to see how that has anything to do with anything except, which I have mentioned before, that you do occasionally put up something interesting. I never denied that.
I don't mean to thread jack this, was just expressing feelings and they're not worth starting their own thread for. And PLEASE note all the caveats; there's no way I'm painting anyone with a broad brush and it doesn't apply to everyone, just an impression I sometimes get. Maybe I can never pull away, as it's become my sole outlet for social interaction, given my physical stuff is getting worse and worse, so getting involved in anything more physical than OWS is pretty impossible (and even THAT strains my bod almost to the breaking point sometimes and I have to back off for a few days to recover).
