No media bias here, with Nic Robertson of CNN , trying to milk praise from the Egyptians over how Obama should be credited for the revolution...

Quote:

ROBERTSON: Achmed, you've been here down here on the Square for many days. The United States and the international community. You've just listened to President Obama saying that America will support Egypt if it wants help and assistance, and hopes that there will be a good transition for jobs for the young people. What would be your message for President Obama?

ACHMED: We don't know, actually, who he supports. He serves for his own purposes, and the Egyptian people serve for our freedom and democracy. Any democratic country should see for the people, not for its own purposes.

Meh, not quite what Nic was fishing for...

Quote:

ROBERTSON: Mustapha is joining me now. We just heard President Obama say that he wants to extend, eh, support and assistance to Egypt and Egyptians if they want any, and he hopes that there are more jobs for the young people in the future. What's your message for President Obama?

MUSTAPHA: Well, my message to President Obama is just, "We started this revolution without any outside help, and we are going to finish it also without any outside help."...

ROBERTSON: Are you pleased that President Obama has come out, however, now and said he supports this change and supports the people and supports the young people and -- and what they've done?

MUSTAPHA: Well, actually President Obama's views were kind of conflicting during the last week -- but now he's saying that he's supporting the change.

ROBERTSON: The view from here is one of very happy to now to hear that President Obama has swung behind the people.

Huh? Did Nic even listen to what was being said ? Or was he simply reading from the CNN script, oblivious to anything anyone was telling him ?

I'm really pissed off about Egypt, they're doing all kinds of crap but the media won't report it because they don't want to admit that the new regime is very bad, sometimes revolution turns out badly.

Sure would be a shame if they go the way of Afghanistan. I swear I did hear some talk of them wanting to not only keep tourist from visiting the great Pyramids, but some wanted to actually cover them up, somehow. Maybe that was just one kook Mullah ( well, kookier than most ), but what a crime to even try to hide those from the rest of the world.

And, you think this reflects "left wing" bias? Dearie, you have no idea what "left wing" really is.

Obama is embedded with banks and corporations just as much as Bush ever was. The difference is that Bush was tighter with oil and military, and Obama is tighter with financiers and insurances.

So they are beholden to different sets of players... one makes money on war, the other makes money on money. It's certainly not "left wing" bias at all. Obama is simply trying to make sure that the USA doesn't get left behind in Egypt's rapid transition to... wherever it's going. Most likely a pro-Islamist democracy, like Iran. As such, he is offering loans and "aid" to keep one foot in the door. The Egyptians, though, rejected both IMF loans and American offers of "assistance", because that would invite all kinds of outside meddling and influence.

In fact, Egypt just kicked out a bunch of US-funded NGOs. Tracking back, those NGOs are headed by people from the Project for a New American Century (PNAC) ... the same neocons that brought us the clusterfuck of Iraq, the impending clusterfucks of Afghanistan and Libya, and who are trying to create yet another clusterfuck in Iran.

It's waaaay past time that Americans think LONG and HARD about where their interests really lie... with Israel? With oil? With democracy? With banks? Because we are creating such a backlog of blowback, it had better be for a really, really, really good cause.

And you're not hearing much about Libya now either, are you? Things must be going swimmingly!

So blatantly show casing for the President, a Democrat, and the leader of a party which has been steered so hard towards the Left, is a Left wing bias.

Even revolutions by the people can turn out awfully. I can't trust humanity. But the government setting up something new never works out well over there either. Is it a lack of education? Are they just ignorant? Why does everything always go wrong over there, no matter who does it?. I'm frustrated.

I think a lot of us are, and there's no real simple answers coming.

Why do you keep insisting that Democrats are left-wing? BOTH parties pretty much have the same goal of "business as usual". Neither one is talking about overthrowing corporations or getting rid of the stock market, or getting rid of private banks. Right now, they are BOTH trying to figure out how to stabilize the economy for the benefit of banks, insurances and corporations. They only differ on how best to get there. Like I said, you really don't know what left-wing is.

Because the GOP is run by those who want slightly less govt control of our lives, or just in different areas, doesn't make the Dems any less Left. The policies by Obama are clearly Left wing, from O-Care, Govt/ union stimulus plan, Cash for klunkers, NLRB going after Boeing on behalf of the unions, the DOJ's attack on State's rights to control illegal immigration, AND voter ID laws... and a whole lot more.

Don't tell me I don't know what Left wing is... our President was raised by communists, and went to school, and surrounded himself with like minded socialists.
