Oh come on, Ice Pirates ROCKED and you know it!
Guilty pleasures abound in the B-movie section...

Actually I am hoping for something similar in tone to the original Conan movie, I've always been partial to the soundtrack.

I just picked up Conan for the Xbox 360 for ten bucks and happen to be reveling in the carnage, not to mention the amount of smack he talks in the cutscenes, VERY true to the early novels.

(and yes, it's almost as awesome as it looks!)
So I am indeed kinda hopin the movie stays true to the pulp roots of the story, but as you say, too likely to be typical hollywood pablum.

At least they didn't hand it off to Uwe Boll...

Metal pasties?

Metal pasties.

METAL ******' PASTIES. In leopard print.

*brain broken*

(Don't worry, it happens a lot. I'll be good as new... Oh. Now, I guess.)

Frem: I dunno if you play MMORPGs at all, probably not because you wouldn't have much time for kicking ass and giving cops and feds the finger, but Age of Conan has a... kinda unsavoury element you might want to watch out for. >_> Just FYI. You might not mind the gore, but you might not like the intentional objectification of women that the whole "nude model" feature they implemented can cause. Though technically the male models have it too, but... yeah.

Well, Conans objectification is so over the top I just can't take it seriously so it comes off as funny, especially when they start playing along with him to stroke his ego and talk him into shit against his better judgement, such as he has...

And yeah, the time lack thing is kind of a deterrent to playing MMOs, but I do play a couple free ones here and there, but they're really cutesy ones cause when you deal with ugly all day, well...

When I *am* in a mood for that sorta thing I just fire up GTA:San Andreas, go downtown and KILL EVERYBODY - that's quite, quite satisfying it is.

Oh! Do you play Mabinogi? Back when I had free space on my computer, I LOVED Maginogi. The battle system is less about your level, and more about how well you can anticipate your enemies and use your attacks in response. That, plus you can write and play your own music in game, and you can also get pets you can play as separately from your character.

Nudity might be better because at least then it might be slightly artistic. Metal pasties just makes the women more objectified fantasy/sci-fi erotica, it's like the next step up from a chainmail bikini in tackiness and complete nonfunctionality of wardrobe. Leopard metal pastie princess doesn't strike me as "Amazonian" but rather "ornamental, decorative, and useless" which only furthers anti-female stereotypes in the genre.

The damn slave chain hanging from her collar doesn't help matters.

I mean, whoever drew that, do you think they were intending to draw attention to the sadness and despair in her face, or the overly-sexualized look of her body? And then, even more troubling, is her crying and slave collar supposed to APPEAL on some level to some abuse fetish?

The guys in the comic I read based on it wore as little, measured in inches of fabric. I would like to see sexual objectification equally distributed between the beautiful males AND females.
EQUALITY NOW!!!!

Okay then. It's still kinda troublesome, you understand. That picture doesn't scream "feel my pain and abuse" like an emaciated imprisoned slave on death row would suggest. It instead says "lust over me and my unbelievable body that's perfect and desirable despite all I've been through."
