UH - I think the GOP fund-raiser poster, and Palin's and Backman's statements qualify. Also, I include the emails I get from TownHall. Last I checked these were all republicans.

Also, Michael Steele's statement that he wants to "put Pelosi on the firing line", and the GOP's website home page, with its full-page image of Pelosi in flames with the caption "Let's Fire Pelosi!" seem to fit the bill, too.

I've made my position on this kinda thing quite clear though, and I will reiterate it here.
I will not support it, but nor will I stand in the way, I am absolutely neutral on hostility versus any political office less than the POTUS, because the office itself is a symbol no matter the dimwit occupying it, and to act against it in hostile fashion is to spit on all that is america.
(And I felt that way even with Shrub in charge, and said as much.)
Any lesser office, that's between them and the people, I will take no action to support it, but nor will I take any action to prevent it.
Not to say I wouldn't PROFIT from it, however...

Most of these people haven't even been out of their house in 20 years. They just want some sunshine.
If by “media” you mean Faux News, I concur...but the politicians themselves have been encouraging this mentality ever since Obama was nominated, and it’s gotten steadily worse. I can’t absolve them from guilt in this, and I don’t see how anyone can.
Personally, I don’t think Steele is fomenting this. He’s been in trouble with the party all along, so my view would be that he is following party line, walking on eggshells and not condemning the acting out because it goes against w hat the politicians themselves are saying. That’s been covered, the Reagan and Brady corollaries are apt, and at that time the outcry was bipartisan. I can only hope that if/when someone IS harmed physically, the same will happen. What I see happening is an escalation which can only end up with violence, so I hope it brings people to their senses without too many being hurt too badly.

Myself, I think Cavalier nailed it best of all. This is a bell that is hard to unring, and a sad and dangerous one.
I, too, heard it was “one bullet” in the Cantor thing...just shows how fast things get warped that people are getting the idea it was a “spray”. That it was done to a Republican speaks to me of the anger beginning to be turned to both sides, as I said above. Denying these things are happening, or trying to blame the other side as subversively being the ones who did them is absurd in my opinion. The signs by protesters have been all to clearly indicative of a growing, unreasoned hatred fed by lies and manipulation...for it NOT to progress to physical acts is pretty hard to imagine.
As to cameras not catching this stuff, I’m not surprised. I don’t know how many people were there when it happened, but one has to be very lucky to be aiming at something inadvertently to catch a random act, and there is clear audio of “baby killer” to hear, yet he says it was “IT’S A baby killer”, referring to the bill. How many heard the “it’s a”? He’s been blamed for what people did hear, and either he’s lying or the audio didn’t pick it up. It could be either, we can’t tell. So IF someone was lucky enough to have their camera pointed in the right direction and IF it picked up audio or video, what would it show anyway? Surely not who actually did it?
